Michael said, "I was very disapointed with the construction work in progress on the beach side of the hotel. Had I been aware of this I would have booked elsewhere."
Sarah said, "Our group (5 girls in their 20 s) we were very pleased! After reading some of the more negative reviews on here, we were a little hesitant, but the resort was just perfect for what we wanted. After walking up and down the Lamai stretch of beach, the Weekender definitely had the best area of beach that we saw of all the surrounding resorts. The included breakfast in the morning was great, we never missed it. The surrounding restaurants and conveniences were also very useful. We recommend it to others!"
Leah said, "we booked the standard room for 2200 bht and judging by the photo of the std room and the price we were expecting something quite nice... however we were pretty disappointed when we were taken to see our room which certainly had no greenery to look out to and instead our balcony looked out over the busy main street of lamai and really we were not close to the beach at all.. the building was old and we not attractive at all.. the rest of the resort looked nice but not for the price.. they offered to upgrade us (maybe for a little extra baht- not sure) but we were annoyed about the situation so we had a look around lamai and came across Lamai Inn 99 who had a room closer to the beach with all the mod cons - tv, air con, safe in room - and lovely pool for 1500 bht... we lost of 2200 deposit a Weekender... would definately go to Lamai Inn 99 over Weekender anyday ..."
Robert said, "When we arrived, the swimming pool looked dirty, but swimmable. By our third day there it was beginning to get green. I (along with most of the guests) started complaining to the front desk, and soon a worker would come and dump in a little chlorine. Each day the pool got greener and soon we couldn t even see the bottom, and algae was floating on top. I complained daily, at the front desk and the lady in charge told me The pool is clean, but it is still green because the water comes from a well. It was obvious they don t know how to take care of their pool - and they were unresponsive to our complaints. We will not go back again. We ended up going down the road and swimming at the Aloha Resort. They have clean pool, and nice rooms, and it is a much nicer place than the Weekender. If we return to Lamai beach we will stay there. At the Weekender, we a large bedroom, with a bath connected to the room. They apparently have new Thai houses (pictured) and old Thai houses, ours was old but we were satisfied."
Sue said, "Excellent hotel. Very helpful. Good food. Great beach, clean and not as crazy as Chaweng but many good shops and places to eat. Great for families and singles wanting a balance between peace and good R&R. My kids loved it and the staff made them feel welcomed. We would go back to the Weekender."
Ragnhild said, "It is a very nice hotel at Lamai beach.God breakfast. I can realy recomend it."
Anthony said, "I have with the remodeled rooms on the main building I would stay there again. They were modern and clean, the bed was a little to firm for me. Breakfast was good, and the staff was plesant. The pool area was nice with good loungers, but the beach was dirty and not kept up. I wanted to lounge more on the beach, but there was to much debri that had drifted onto it ( syringe ). I would suggest that the hotel have someone pickup their beach area early in the morning. Everything else was very good, and a good baragin for the price. I would stay again."
Tracey said, "GREAT FOR FAMILIES! Pool is big and clean--no baby pool but an attached play area for little kids. Rooms were big and clean-enough without being perfect. We had a family of five and the room was big enough for a queen sized bed and THREE single beds for each of the boys. Location--excellent--in the good part of Lamai--plenty of t-shirt shops and tailor shops and seafood and pizza restaurants and even close to MacDonalds--but not as seedy as other parts of town. Breakfast buffet was plentiful and hotel staff was nice. Bring your own hairdryer and adapter (they use a USA looking plug but it is definitely 220v.) Great location, good hotel. The beach itself has surf that breaks right on the edge--so no surfing in December. Kids swam all day in the surf. This hotel has a family atmosphere. Strongly recommend it."
ronald said, "A VERY NICE HOTEL NEXT TO BEACH,NEVER MET STAFF MORE HELPFUL & FRIENDLY,ALL NEW BUILDINGS FINISHED AND VERY COMFORTABLE A BONUS VERY GOOD & PROFESSIONAL MASSAGE TEAM ON SITE TO ME THIS HOTEL IS *****"
Patience said, "The Weekender was an oasis of peace and quiet in a rather hectic Lamai. The beach is clean and great for swimming; the Thai House accomodation was pleasant and clean; the breakfast buffet, included in the room charge, was generous and had sufficient variety of Thai and western choices; the staff was attentive and congenial. The only problem we had was that the front desk staff was working from an old Bangkok Airways timetable and so the driver arrived at the airport to pick us up just as we arrived at the hotel via a mini bus. It was more than a bit disconcerting to be searching the airport for the Weekender driver with no success and no notion of how to get to the Weekender on our own. When we checked on outgoing flights at the end of our stay, they still did not have an accurate timetable. Also they neglected to inform us until the last minute that the charge for a ride to the airport ahd gone up 4 days earlier. I would have preferred not to have been surprised that way."
Greg said, "We are a family of five and we nice and quiet at night being well away from the main road. There were many other families staying at the same time and so the children nearly always had others to play with. Great location, lovely beach and pool, friendly and helpful staff would definitly stay here again if we get the chance."
Benkõ said, "It was good. We booked a bungalow (front entrance) don t do it. Not like at the picture. We changed to Thai house, for less than on the net. Just go there and bargain. Thai house was great, good bathroom, nice, not so clean, like everywhere at that country. Breakfast is good. Location on Lamai is excellent. At all it was great."
Roger said, "Very pleased with the stay in Thaihouse close to everything but still qiet."
per said, "Very good location. A bit worn and torn. Construction is ongoing in the Resort area which made use of pool and restuarant quite unpleasant. 2 out of 3 beds in our Thai Villa should be replaced. Very helpful and nice staff allthough one or two of them should benefit from english training. All in all we had a very pleasant stay despite the beds and construction site./Per K"
Simon said, "Lovely beachside accomodation in the best part of Lamai. Would recommend to both young & old."
Christopher said, "Wouldn t normally bother with this lark but the hotel and all staff were for my money, exceptional and I will certainly return.Location and serentity were first class. My only minor grumble was the amout of rude Germans with fat guts and tight trunks who seemed to be trying to annex all the sunbeds like they did Poland. That aside I would reccommend the weekender to any English people looking to relax in a beautiful location. I the bar food was really good.Enjoy....."
Rolf said, "Rooms where big and allways clean. At a reasonable price. Special Thanks to the Hotel staff. Every Time frendly to fool around. One of the highlight was the Massage Team associated to the Hotel. My Brother in law - his wife and we would stay here again."
K. said, "It s not a luxury hotel, needs some modernization. But it have a very good location in Lamai, rooms are cleaning and towels are changed everyday. Breakfast - OK. Staff - really friendly and helpful. On the beach: you are never sure you can get sunbeds (after 9 o clock in the morning) and the water in Lamai Beach was really dirty in the second half of February (black pieces of oil were brought by waves everywhere on the beach - some ecological disaster we didn t know about???). Overall experience: most convenient hotel in Lamai. But is Lamai Beach - and Koh Samui in general - really good place to stay if they don t care about clearness of the beach and sea-water?"
Mikael said, "One of the best resorts on Lamai.Hotell service was excelent.Nice, clean Thai House.I would recomend this resort."
Peter said, "The hotel has a good position on the beach and almost all the staff is friendly. The rooms are cleaned every day and all the bed sheets and towels are changed in the morning. Separate beach towels are also included. We had to pay for the gala dinner. The food was ok but the show was terrible. Lots of transvestites in some sort of show and way to loud. We ate the food and quickly realised that the rest of the evening had to be spent somewhere else. The hotel also arranged some fireworks at the beach, which was directly dangerous. Fireworks were shot without any warnings and right next to all the guests. It is a small miracle that no one got seriously damaged. I would recommend the hotel to anyone that not is staying over Christmas or New Years Eve."
Navajeev said, "Location is key in terms of the positive aspects of this hotel. It is located on the quieter side of Lamai and the beach is much nicer than further south on Samui.Otherwise, it is over-priced and doers not merit anything more than a 1 star rating. The rooms are average (perhaps better suited to a group of college students wanting to do Myrtle beach Thai style ) The buffet breakfast was awful (not that I was expecting much...but everything seemed a couple of day old). The pool was pretty murky looking and the staff weren t in any hurry to rectify that situation. The most negative aspect however was the rudeness of the evening staff. Notably a woman by the name of Irene. She had no inkling of what proper customer service was. She showed no respect and acted as if it was an extra chore to simply answer any question regarding facilties and services. Added to that she attempted to charge me for an extra night but claiming that I had arrived at the hotel a day prior the actual date I arrived there!"
Richard said, "chose this budget accomodation at short notice because the villa we origionally booked wasn t suitable.....the rooms were clean and breakfast was ok....samui weather unfortunately wasn t good.......we were glad to leave the island!!"
Udo said, "I feel like home in the Weekender always. Very, very friendly staff, they take care of everything. I can recommend the Weekender Resort & Hotel for a comfortable and relaxed stay in a familiar atmosphere. Thanks to all."
Mr.Richard said, "The grounds of the hotel are lovely. I had a bungalow near the entrance and I must say I was not impressed. It looked very tired, large stains in the bath a bed that was rock hard, I might as well have slept on the floor. In good position and that is only reason I would stay there again if I return to Samui"
Katrin said, "A good middle class hotel with large bungalows. The breakfast was not so very good but okay. Good swimming pool, nice beach."
Marisa said, "Hotel was clean and everything just fine. We had a room with a lovely view on to the beach; food was so so, typical buffet fare, but overall the hotel staff tried to be helpful and the location is very central and convenient. Of course it helped that I speak Thai, can t judge how it would have been otherwise. But we would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone, and will come back here again."
Tim said, "We thoroughly enjoyed the Weekender Resort. It was a quiet, peaceful place with very friendly staff. For those on a budget, they will find the accomodation clean and nice (We especially the pillows are very hard). Great location in the mid of Lamai beach. Very friendly staff. For sure I will come back this year again to the Weekender, coz I found the love of my life in he loveliest waitress I ever met."
Udo said, "Great service, great location! I spent 3 weeks with my little son in a Thai house and can recommend the Weekender. Some things (toaster at breakfast buffet, water pressure in the shower, very hard pillows in the bed) need to be improved, but the Weekender is a very good choice for a very nice vacation on Koh Samui. I will come back this year, because there I found in the loveliest waitress of the world the love of my life."
Kim said, "We booked 3 rooms, when we arrived were a little disappointed as was not as per website pics, which we presumed each deluxe room had a spa. The room was ok, the bathroom very new. We had to fight a few large cockroaches, which I guess you can not help?Bed was comfortable, not many guests as low season. The pool was very nice, although the outdoor pool lounges need upgrading badly.American breakfast was pretty basic but adequate.Overall, fair value for money, no real complaints."
Kim said, " was great. The room overall was fine, the pool area very nice but the pool furniture needs updating badly. Breakfast was very basic but ok. Probably look elsewhere for better value, but overall was ok."
Sandra said, "A really nice hotel, we enjoyed the area. Just the room - one of the last ones available - was rather basic, but okay. Only A/C could not be finetuned and made a lot of noise. The restaurant as well as breakfast were excellent and all the staff was very friendly. Also the beach was fantastic (some more umbrellas would even be great). A really recommendable hotel in a great location!"
Marcus said, "We I think it is very good for the price. The only complaint I got is the restaurant where the food is quite below avarage and the service is bad. Nice pool area, large rooms (we said, "Very nice and quiet hotel placed close to the beach and away from the noicy main street of Lamai. We provided assistance whenever needed."
Ann said, "Very good, calm and nice. Friendly staf, good food. Nice rooms, we the pool was also nice. The hotell have a good location, near the city with good shopping and a lot of restaurantes. Can really rekommend Weekender."
Stan said, "We recently returned from a 2-week holiday at the Weekender where we had a very enjoyable stay in a Thai House. We found the staff very friendly and helpful and wouldn t hesitate to revisit the Weekender. On the down side, some of the property is showing signs of need of refurbishment."
Antonia said, "We booked the hotel for 10 days over Xmas and New Years, but ended up checking into another hotel (which was fabulous and the same price), as the standard of our supposed deluxe room was anything but. The toilet leaked, as did the sink and the airconditioning, the bed and pillows were very hard, the phone wouldn t make out going calls, and when we complained nothing was done about it. I have been backpacking around Thailand previously and paid an 8th of the price for room of that standard."
Dostal said, "Unfriendly staff. Room in bad condition, we had fleas in the bed (screatching whole night). Breakfast also horrible. Don t go there. We left at the 2nd day and went to Baan Faah Resort at Mae nam beach - less expensiv, quite, nice beach and very nice and friendly staff."
Shrikant said, "Very nice well maintained and clean resort right next to the beach. The staff is friendly and helpful. The thai style house we peaceful resort. Would surely recommend it to anyone looking out for a place on Lamai beach."

Eve said, "We found the weekender hotel an excellent place to chill out. Beach was excellent, service was great and the town was a little quieter than the next town of Chewang. It was great to visit the night life of Chewang and return to the peace and not so quite of Lamui Weekender. Staff were so polite and went out of there way to help and accomodation was excellent value for money. Will return"
Leigh said, "I quite enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff were excellent and the location was very handy to the beach and shops etc.The standard of the hotel and the rooms was high. The only two things that I could fault was the lack of information in my room of the hotel facilities etc. As well the breakfast was very ordinary. Otherwise I highly recommend this place to stay."
Megan said, "The resort was really nice. The pool was great, nice patio. Right by the beach, and that part of the beach was alot quieter than other areas. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They responded promptly to all my emails about changing rooms and and extending our stay. They were also really helpful with booking tours and provided more information about the companies than the travel agents. What really impressed me was when we dropped our laundry off, and the receptionist told us that it would cost us alot of money and it would be cheaper for us if we went across the street. We really enjoyed our stay there and I d recommend it to anyone."
Anthony said, "The Weekender has an excellent beachside location and is great for letting you walk out and explore Lamai. The staff was very friendly and helpful during my all-too-short visit to Ko Samui."
Markus said, "The hotel is clean and the service is good at the reception and bar on the beach. On the other hand, the service at the restaurant, mainly for breakfast, is bad, people are lazy and look bored or sad ! I always had the impression to disturb. By the way, sorry for disturbing ! For the `country of smile` ... The site does not reflect the reality because new buildings were built and not referenced on the site. I should have a `de luxe room with direct view on the sea` and a house was built just in front of it !!! No direct view anymore !!! I was quite disappointed."
James said, "We really enjoyed our stay in a bungalow at this resort. The grounds are lovely and the staff are pleasant. If you are staying more than 1 or 2 nights, they are willing to negotiate. Check out the Old Samui Cafe, just a short walk down the beach."
Patricia said, "Super hotel on the beach, quiet but within easy walking distance of th resort. Would definately stay there again"
Claudia said, "we enjoyed the good atmosphere in the weekender hotel and had a relaxing time"
Ralph said, "Very friendly staff, bars and restaurants are walking distance. My room was large and clean daily, my bed change daily."
