Rod said, "The Waterfront was a really nice hotel and the rooms were very clean, the staff very friendly and the gardens were beautiful. The only draw back was that the beach where the hotel is situated is very shallow and rocky."
Torben said, "Nice little place, however, the beach is not good at all, very rocky, way to shallow (at least outside season). We have planned to stay at the resort for 15 days, but decieded that we did nt want to stay there for more than 3 days. What we don t like is that we had to pay all the money for the reservation/booking within the first 5 min after we did arrive to the resort, and since we decieded to leave the place before time, it did cost us nearly 25000 bath for the 3 days (because they wanted deduction for early leave). That is NOT a good service to provide. We went to Hua Hin, much more friendly places there, and we did nt have to pay up front the places we did stay there. The owner however are very helpful and friendly, just thinking to much business regarding money :-(We will never come to Koh Samui again, the island are wasted by to many tourists now. We did have a wonderfull time in Hua Hin, so we are coming back to Thailand again next year."
Lynne said, "Difficult to find any fault with this place. Fantastic location, though at this time of year it s not possible to swim in the sea due to low tides. The rooms provided everything you could possible need with one niggly small exception, ie no hand towels, but that was nothing in comparison will all the things that were provided. The beds were comfortable which for Thailand is a rarity! The cleanliness of the rooms was overwhelming, eg every day the glass doors were cleaned though the towels and bedding weren t changed daily but for me, I see that as a bonus rather than a disadvantage as it saves water and protects the environment. The pool was small but more than adequate and for once, it was cool and refreshing.Anyone travelling with children would find the Waterfront perfect as every kind of toy and game is provided for their entertainment. The staff were amazing with all of them speaking very good English and very friendly. The food was also excellent - I recommend the pomelo salad and the fried rice is the best I ve had anywhere.Hosts Robin and Sue give everyone the warmest welcome and work hard to make sure all their guests have a holiday to remember."
maria said, "fantastico hotel, camere, personale, ristorante, servizi e spiaggia al di sopra delle nostre aspettative consigliatissimo anche a famiglie con bambini piccoli"
Barry said, "The Waterfront was an oasis of relaxation and we had a lovely quiet week there. Food is very nice there and they lay on a great breakfast. Lots of sun beds which was great and a nice pool to cool off in. We would go back and stay here again. All the staff work very hard. If we had to offer any creative critism - I would say that cleaning staff (and lobby/pool staff) can be a little noisy if they are cleaning/working an early. We had them all laughing and joking loudly at 8am ouside our door - great they are happy in their work, but not if you want a lay in! Carol in reception is a lovely helpful lady, a real asset to Waterfront."
Shaun said, "The waterfront is by far the best hotel I have I think mainly the atmosphere and surroundings make this hotel so good. I and it wasn t a patch on the Waterfront. Nothing else to say, if you want to go to a quieter side of Samui than Chaweng, the Waterfront is the ONLY choice."
Wendy said, "We liked the Waterfront and would definitely recommend it. This is a great value for the price especially during the low season. The high points are: breakfast, the pool and the rooms are very spacious and clean. The owners are charming and we very much enjoyed our stay."
Craig said, "A fantastic Hotel in a fantastic location. The people who run this place are friendly and very accommodating. I would thoroughly advise anyone thinking of visiting Koh Samui to stay in this excellent hotel."
Fiona said, "What can I say? Robin and Sue (Margot & Jerry!!!) were wonderful hosts - making an effort to remember everyone s name. The Waterfront was just like being with your family! We were only here for one night (stopping over on the way to Koh Tao) and were really sad to leave. The hotel was full, but there never seemed to be anyone around! We went into Chaweng (big mistake - just like Phuket, and we wouldn t rush back to either), and when we returned, Sue and Robin were there (just like Mum & Dad) asking where we d been. Super couple. Michael picked us up from the airport and when we arrived, we were given a welcome drink (of our choice). Sue and Robin let us leave a case with them so that we didn t have to lug it to Koh Tao, which was very ind of them. They didn t want any money, so we put 500bt in the Staff Tip Box. Loved Carol, and the dogs Honey and Judy. Can t wait to return for a longer stay next year."
gwen said, "excellent place to stay we only booked for 4nights wish we book for more.the staff was lovely the rooms was cleaned every day.lovely swimming pool.will stay there again.the owners sue and robin was there at the airport and even took us to our next destination on the day we was leaving.EXCELLENT"
Mr said, " found it to be a fantastic place. The owners, Sue and Robin, do everything they can to make your stay very special. The staff are very friendly and the rooms immaculately maintained with some very nice touches. Only regret was that we had prebooked a further 13 nights in Chaweng at a resort of similar cost but with nothing like the standards achieved at the Waterfront. Hope to be back soon"
Sarah said, "Very nice quiet relaxing hotel. Lovely clean little pool. The staff were very friendly and helpful and it was nice being out of the way from Chaweng abit. Bophut is a charming little resort, some lovely restaurants and bars just outside the hotel. Our favourite was Cocooning just opposite the Waterfront, we spent a couple of very merry evenings there!"
Julie said, "We enjoyed the Waterfront very much. We found it to be very peaceful, relaxing, and even when it rained a bit, we still enjoyed the setting and simply reading on our private balcony. We wouldn t recommend the Waterfront for hard-core partiers or people who need a pristine beach out their front door. But we would recommend it for couples, families, and singles who are ready to relax and enjoy the beautiful views and cozy village (with great restaurants!)"
Raymond said, "The Waterfront is a very professionally run operation in a very nice part of Koh Samui. Bo Phut Fisherman s Village is an ideal place to stay with enough local attractions to keep you satisfied. The Waterfront has an inordinately high no. of staff who are always busy and polite. The mixture creates a very welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. It is one of those places where guests can readily choose to mix with fellow guests or maintain privacy.I would gladly stay there again. If I was to list any negatives and they are few I would say that the grounds and gardens cannot be described as impeccably manicured and that the TV was a tad small. I clear."
david said, "great hotel, great place! the people of the hotel are very kind. we planed to stay 3 nights and we the nearby Koh-Phangan island. The service is superb: the owners and staff do everything possible to make you feel at home. Sue and Robin were not only friendly and helpful, but they also got us out of trouble a few times, for instance drove us to the pier when we risked missing a boat trip!It is not a full-featured hideaway resort, but then it does not need to; one can stroll around the neighborhood and find plenty of beach side restaurants and bars to choose from.I would wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone as the perfect stress-relief location."
Ann-Marie said, "We had a lovely and pleasant time at the Waterfront. All the staff were really nice and helpful. the only problem we did have was the beach it s not very nice there, but the one at cheegwan beach was beautiful and only ten mins away."
Matt said, "Absolutely fantastic place and lovely people - definite place to go and be looked after in such great company - Actually Robin are really nice and make you feel very welcome."
Amanda said, "The Waterfront Hotel is a fabulous place to stay on Koh Samui. Robyn and Sue are most welcoming and go out of their way to make you feel at home. The rooms are immaculately clean, neat, tidy and comfortable. The staff are great and the atmosphere is relaxing. We would highly recommend The Waterfront at Bohput if you wanted to be out of the hustle and bustle of Chaweng and enjoy a hassle free totally relaxing holiday. Thanks Robyn, Sue and Michael for your fantastic hospitality. See you again."
said, "We enjoyed our stay totally! Robin and staff made us felt very much at home. Clean, friendly, cosy, just perfect!"
Lesley said, "A lovely relaxing hotel at the far end of Bophut beach, very close to Fishermans village and lots of great restaurants. The staff were brilliant, so friendly and helpful and spoilt for choice with the breakfast. Little touches like tea and coffee, DVD player etc in the room made it feel very homely and the daily cleaning of the room couldn t be faulted. An excellent little hotel with a perfect location....ill be back soon!"
David said, "We have just had 5 weeks stay with Robin and Sue at the Waterfront in Bophut.Wonderful holiday at a great hotel. 10 out of 10 for location, room, staff (wonderful) and food. Our first vist to Samui but we will be back. Only 1 complaint and not connected to the hotel in any way.But too many Brit type bars in the village, I mean who wants wall to wall sport, (and iam a rugby fan). When will the bar owners wake up to the fact that we want entertainment on our holiday not sport. But that apart cannot praise the waterfront enough. Thanks Robin and Sue. Cheers Dave and Yvonne Hartley"
Chris said, "An absolute gem of a place! Sue & Robin are the ultimate holiday hosts, the staff & rooms are top class & you can even sleep in Denise Van Outen s bed!!. The Waterfront will always be our 1st stop on Samui. Many thanks for looking after us so well. See you again soon. xx :-)"
Kristina said, "We loved our stay at the Waterfront--lovely garden, pool, and eating areas with lots of coconut palms; clean, simply decorated rooms; cheerful, helpful staff; wonderful view and feeling, being right on the beach (though when we were there, one could not go in the ocean right in front of the hotel due to danger of coral cuts--but my daughter found a nice place to swim a short way down the beach); nice, small village right outside the grounds to walk and browse in, with many good restaurants. Robin and Sue were superbly gracious hosts, always checking to see if there was anything they could do for us, and the bartender/nightguard, Banjont, was a great addition--always there to help, hang out with comfortably, and give a feeling of security from 8pm to 7am every night. Especially after a rather exhausting tour of Bangkok and Northern Thailand, the laid-back peacefulness of the Waterfront and Bophut were deeply appreciated. I highly recommend it for a restful ending to a Thailand trip--or as a destination in itself."
Britt-Marie said, "We were 12 persons (8 adults and 4 children) staying at the hotel for two weeks. We found the hotel very good. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The room service kept a high standard.. Robin and Sue were very service minded and made their utmost to facilitate. As our grandchildren are between 2 and 13 years the place were very friendly for them. The only BUT was the beach and the sea which we couldn´t use close to the hotel."
Rolf said, "Our family they was very helpful with everything. Staff is very nice too.We it was perfect with a huge bathroom. This is the place to stay if you want to have a peaceful and nice holiday. We hope to bee back.Rolf Mattsson, Sweden"
Louise said, "Very nice staff and the owner,Sue and Robin, was a nice couple how whant everyone feel good and happy.Real small room for that price. The garden was bautifull whith big relaxcheirs and it was a very quiet place."
Janet said, "Wonderful hotel with the most charming hosts. Location is a first priority for us, and the Waterfront is certainly in a superb location. So near to good restaurants and bars and yet quiet and peaceful (sheer bliss). Robin and Sue can certainly be proud of their wonderful home from home and I do hope that one day we will return (as many of the other guests do year after year). Many thanks to all at the Waterfront for making our holiday so special.Jan & Harry 3 - 13 February 2007."
Peggy said, "We were very pleased with the resort and service. Robin and Sue are very kind hosts. The resort itself is ideally located in the small but charming village called Bophut Village (Fisherman s Village). Plenty of shops and restaurants to check out and only minutes away from the resort. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Staff were pleasant and professional. Enjoyed the little plusses the resort provided: Free Internet, Minibar,Adapters & TV & DVD player in all rooms with free rental of DVD movies! The only negative comment I would give is the pool is way too small for the resort which makes for a cramped seating area for the deck chairs (and they re are sooo comfortable!) My only suggestion would be to build a much larger pool as there is plenty of land to support it.Otherwise..we had a great time!"
Laurel said, "The Waterfront has the nicest location at Bophut Beach, with rooms fronting directly onto garden and beach. Pool surrounds and indoor/outdoor eating areas provide additional places to relax, read, etc. Rooms are attractively fitted out, and take advantage of views and breezes. This is a very quiet and peaceful place in which to take a restful break. Breakfast (included) is terrific. Best of all, the Waterfront has a delightful team of staff - friendly, helpful and good humoured at all times. There is a good selection of restaurants and cafes nearby to provide plenty of culinary variety, but (thankfully) no sleazy or noisy nightlife at Bophut Beach. The Waterfront is an excellent choice for couples and families looking for a charming, quiet tropical seaside spot for a holiday."
Shirley said, "If you are looking to stay in Bophut Village, this has got to be the place. When we arrived, really thought i was in paradise, gorgeous place to stay. It is perfect if you want to just truly chillout!! Place was absolutely spotless, the staff were all truly wonderful and make you feel so welcome, they really are a great bunch."
Maria said, "We have just returned from a five night stay at the Waterfront Hotel and I have to stay the only regret I have is that it was not for longer as it was a delight. We took the two bedroom family bungalow right on the beach and both the decor and space was lovely ! As indeed was the rest of the layout including the pool and (especially) the Pool Bar!!This is definitely a place where comfort, style and the ability to chill compliment eachother perfectly.May I therefore say a special thanks to Robin and Sue (though she was not there)Michael their son and their staff including Carol and Lamai for their warm hospitality and friendliness. I would not hesitate to recommend this Hotel and the lovely village of Bophut to anyone.RegardsMaria Peters"
Jennifer said, "We we were pleased with our visit. The hotel is simply decorated but very clean. The owners, Robin and Sue as well as their son were extremely friendly and accommodating. They go out of their way to make their guests feel comfortable and they are easily accessible for questions. The staff are also friendly and they helped us to book a rental car, snorkeling trip and cooking class. Bophut Beach (where the The Waterfront is located) is a cutevillage and that there are a number of restaurants nearby which arenice, but that Chewang and Lahina offer more variety and should bevisited for longer holidays."
Vanessa said, "The Waterfront was a cosy resort. Bungalows were nice. We had a late check out as our flight was not leaving until 6pm and they did not charge any extra to use the room. The pool was very small, but good value for money."

Christine said, "The Waterfront Hotel Resort at Bohput beachThe jewel of Ko Samui, for sure a real peach.Picture postcard views in beautiful grounds,For eleven nights we did not frown. There’s a personal touch; to every detail attentionFrom Sue and Robin even Leo the dog deserves a mention! It’s the place you can laze all day and never feel bored,Hammock, pool, table-tennis, games and DVD’s by the hoards! The staff are amazing; your every whim catered for,Massage, pedicure, wonderful food and your drink poured. The rooms are immaculate, the best in Thailand we saidSuper bathroom, great views, cleaned daily with flowers on your bed.Every thought that has gone into the running of here,Will ensure your return year after year,Welcome drinks, late breakfasts and a bar open all night,To find a better resort you’ll have quite a plight! This place truly cannot be matched,Proved by other guests who moved to another patchAnd returned back to The Waterfront from five star accommodationI think this underlines my poems mission of recommendation. So thank you Sue and Robin for our wonderful stayThis is my last verse and all there’s left to sayIs that your hospitality and high standards, dulyHave made you by far the best resort in Samui!"
Cheryl said, "Robin & Sue are gracious, charming hosts. They make you feel like a friend rather than a customer. Likewise, the staff were also friendly and smiling. Our room was spotlessly clean and well appointed. The deck chairs at the pool are the most comfortable that I have ever encountered anywhere. Our only regret is that we didn t spend a longer period of time at The Waterfront. We would return without hesitation should we ever visit Koh Samui in the future. Thank you, Robin & Sue and also to Michael who picked us up at the airport and kindly gave us a tour of the village so that we could get our bearings.Cheryl & Norm SavageMontreal, Canada"
Timo said, "Our stay at the Waterfront was excellent. The Staff and the owners were very friendly and caring of every need. The resort is clean and worth visiting. Pick up worked out well also. Keep it up!"
Chris said, "I wouldn t hesitate to recommend The Waterfront. The owners Robin & Sue are incredibly welcoming and friendly as are all the staff. In fact it s so good I m going back!"
Jillian said, "Fantastic! We loved it so much that we returned for the final few days of our holiday. Excellent value all round and all the staff are so welcoming and friendly, we were sad to say goodbye. The service is very personal but not intrusive and we had some great nights at the hotel bar (which is never closed) with other guests and the cool barman. We are SHOCKED about the comment below - nothing like the Waterfront we fabulous, freshly cooked food, and for late evening eating the village is only a few mins walk up the street, sporting a a plethora of lovely restaurants and bars. There IS a beach (almost private due to hotel location) which is kept very clean and alhough you can t swim directly in front of the hotel due to the reef, you CAN a few yards up. This was a positive aspect for us because it meant the beach was always quiet. Our room was kept very clean by all standards and had a panoramic view. We loved the view from our balcony day and night and I must say that the sunset was nothing short of stunning. Big thanks to Sue and Robin, Your place is GREAT! and we will definitely be back."
Tracey said, "FANTASTIC!!! We absolutely loved our stay and everything went so smoothly, right from the moment Robin picked us up at the airport and gave us a tour of the village so that we could get our bearings. It seems very strange to read anything negative about this place (i.e., the comment below)because we ate at the wonderful restaurant most days and the setting for this restaurant is stunning. It overlooks a quiet, virtually private beach so dining al fresco was an absolute delight. The pool isn t huge but as there are only 15 rooms it is never full - in fact most of the time I was the only person in it....and then to step out of the pool and have a massage in such idylic surroundings is the ultimate in relaxation. Oh, and I almost forgot the sun loungers are probably the most comfy and biggest I have ever had the pleasure of using at any hotel. (No fighting for a sunbed here!). The bar is right by the pool and in the evenings the security man becomes a very friendly barman. The location of this hotel is perfect, it s quiet but only a few minutes walk to a vast array of restaurants and bars (but not the rowdy type or girlie bars you find elsewhere on Samui). The rooms are spotless, all your needs are met, right down to hairdryer, fridge DVD player and tolietries. The view from the balcony was gorgeous. It was a real pleasure to stay in a small hotel where everything was just a step away (including the beach) and where the entire service felt very warm and personal. Well done Robin and Sue, I m so pleased we chose the Waterfront and in my opinion you really have thought of everything"
Knut said, "Didn t pick us up at the airport as agreed on. Our room was occupied by others. Did get new rooms for the same price. Small pool. No ABF. No beach. No resturant for dinner. Check out: Noting was ready, and we had deal to get the same price as agreed on upfront."
C.W.wright said, "An excellent holiday spot, from the time that Robin, the owner, met us at the airport could not be faulted. Very clean bungalow with a great view looking over the beach, lovely breakfast, good choice, very friendly staff, air conditioning and TV in the rooms, free internet. All this and situated in a quite location yet right next to Bophut Village, minutes walk to get there with a very good choice of restaurants and bars. A very goodresort the staff and the owners cannot do enough for you, thanks once again, if we can stagger through the long flight we will be back. A good location as Bophut is quiet in comparison to Chaweng which is about 10 minutes taxi ride away so if you want the loud nightlife etc it is not far away.Good Luck Robin, sorry about Norwich"
Kym said, "The Waterfront was a lovely place to spend a quiet 2 weeks. We have two children 12 and 7 and they enjoyed the freedom of not having to stay with mom and dad all the time. The resort is small enough that you can leave your room unlocked and the kids can come and go from the room to the pool. The staff are wonderful people, very friendly and polite. Food was fantastic, best I had on the Island. Compliments to the cook. Pool was small but wet and cool. Kids loved it , so as long as you keep them happy everyone is happy. The village of Bophut is very good, everything that you would need. Restaurants, shopping, ATM machines and local culture. Robin our host was there to pick us up from the airport and have transport to take us back. We had a great vacation. If ever in Samui again The Waterfront will be our first choice."
Bruce said, "We enjoyed our stay very much. We had a family room which offered us two large bedrooms and a seperate sitting room with chairs/couch and TV/DVD player. There was plenty of room for a family of four. The rooms were extremely well kept and had a lovely view of the water. Our two children 6 and 8 years old had a wonderful time. The hotel is small enough you can see or hear the kids from anywhere on the property so they have the freedom to run and play without Mom following them constantly. The food was great, a nice selection for breakfast and the Thai food was some of the best we had. The water was not that good for swimming right in front of the hotel (too much coral/rocks) and the sand a bit rough. You can go further down the beach for swimming and Choeng Mon beach or Chaweng beach are only a 10 minute ride away if you want the sandy beaches. After you experience the hustle and bustle of Chaweng beach you are more than happy to get back to the peace and quiet of the Waterfront. The Fisherman s Village (right out the door and up the street) offered a great selection of restaurants; after three weeks we still had not tried them all. Overall we had a wonderful vacation and would like to express our thanks to Robin, Micheal and all the staff for making us feel at home, We really enjoyed the Waterfront!"
Stephen said, "Our first point of call before Koh Tao and Chaweng Beach, and I can highly recommend The Waterfront. Robin, Sue and all the staff were extremely helpful and friendly making us feel very much at home. Excellent food, freshly prepared breakfasts (not buffet) served until 11.00am. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the location was handy for Fishermans Village. The central bar is the focal point and because the resort is relatively small (16 rooms)you soon get to know your fellow guests. We will be back!!"
Paul said, "Excellent stayQuality rooms with great features, style and cleanliness. Concerned owners on site - Great value and good food.Would come back"
Dori said, "The hotel is very family like, the rooms are extremely clean and cosy. Robin and Sue are great hosts, the staff is also kind and helpful. They are happy to help you organizing your trip around the Island. You can find the best restaurants in Bo Phut. We enjoyed our stay at the Waterfont."
