Bo said, "This was our second stay at this hotel and the good impression from last year was repeated. The staff are always eager to help and make you feel welcome. The rooms and the whole resort are very clean and continually being looked after. The pool is large enough to actually swim in it and also very clean at all times. Again, there were very few guests which might be due to the fact that the hotel is situated at a very quiet location which might not be the thing for young people or those seeking action, however, it was exactly what we wanted. The Thai food is excellent and if you wish for something that is not on the menu they will be happy to prepare it for you. If they don t have the ingredients (e.g. fresh mussels) handy that day, they will order them for you and you can enjoy them the next day. European food is not always very exciting - but after all, we don t come to Thailand to eat European food! Once again we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a quiet location, a lovely resort and attentive service."
Syed said, "Hotel is good, beach is good, quite and peaceful. Very uncomfortable furniture in the rooms. Very poor and minimal cable coverage. Cant stay out of room most of the day. Not really close to the main Lemai Beach street with restuarants etc"
Egidijus said, "Location very quiet. Nice rooms. We clean (two rooms with two bathrooms), fridge. Staff very friendly. Lamai beach shopping and entertainment area is reachable on foot (15 min walk on the seashore) Resort restaurant a bit expensive, but service and food very nice."
Ed said, "Excellent hotel. Very quiet, but meticulously tended garden. Nice villa, although with a little Spartan decoration.Great pool and beach area. Very courteous staff.Really a place to recommend to anyone looking for a nice and quiet spot within walking distance of the nightlife of Lamai or a short taxiride to bustling Chaweng."
Margaret said, "The Hotel was lovely but I think overpriced. The staff were great and very friendly but it was the only restaurant that added tax and tips as part of the bill. We did stay at another resort on Koh Samui for our first night that was half the price and probably nicer. Saying that, the pool was beautiful and the location quiet and relaxing."
Kairi said, "We NY 2007/08. Hotel is located at the quiet end of Lamai beach, out of the main street where everything happens. This worked perfectly for us, taxis are readily available but if you need a little quiet time... Ayodhya Villas must be THE cleanest hotel on the island. They really take care of every little corner, the garden is perfectly maintained and rooms are very clean too. Service is brilliant. Our friends had their 5 year old daughter with them. One evening we wanted to go out w/o her... so, the General Manager helped us out and baby sit for us. Where else in the world can you find hospitality like that? When it comes to food and service in the restaurant - you better off eating elsewhere. There are many restaurants just around the corner from there where food is delicious. Spa is little expencive side, there are few ladies working at the end of the beach not far from the hotel, this is where we had our daily massage... All in all, holiday was perfect, we will definatelly re-visit Koh Samui and will stay Thai Ayodhya Villas again."
Istvan said, "Thai Ayodha is ideally situated on the south end of Lamai beach. It has its private beach which is a plus. The sea floor has some big stones so be careful not to hurt your foot when going in. The sea deepens fast and waves are quite strong so inexperienced swimmers better stay in the pool which is beautiful and has a great view of the sea. The bungalow we clean, but the furniture was quite old and used. The A/C was effective but very noisy. Also the roofs dont have gutters so the water just runs off the tiles and hits the ground with a loud dripping noise which may be annoying to light sleepers. The staff is very friendly and attentive and they deserve 100 points for really trying their best to make our stay comfortable. Their English is limited as anywhere on Samui but there is a Philippine girl at the reception whose English is excellent. The restaurant food was clean and tasty, breakfast was good and plentiful. Prices are almost European standard in the hotel so we mostly ate in the village. All in all we enjoyed our time apart from the few annoyances mentioned above. Value for the price could be better though - i expected a bit more for 160 dollars a night, but again we were there for the peak of the high season."
Martin said, "This is a really nice hotel and especially their villas they are new, clean and comfortable. I could recommend it to anybody. We really enjoyed very nice accommodation and really nice pool with an excellent view. The only point I would reconsider next time is type of villa. They have 4 pool side villas where should be lack of privacy especially in high season. We had a sea view villa but I expected a little bit more. They say that they have 14 sea view villas but I can’t imagine where they could find them (maybe using binoculars and chop down some trees). We had the first villa closest to the sea and even our range of vision was limited. Next time I will take definitely garden view villa as it has much better value for your money and difference is not so big.We were there in a low season and this hotel was almost empty (approx 5 couples). We had a problem with their breakfasts. It was ala carte and I undestand that buffet for 10 guests wouldn’t make a sense. But their menu it was almost impossible to have something healty ?just yogurt and maybe fruit (warm papaya, pineapple and watermelon). The rest was just eggs, sausages, toasts, pancakes, croissants and fried rice. It should be much better during high season.Their chef had a little bit limited offer during the day but quality was great. They waitstaff was really helpful but their English was with one exception disaster. Especially during our breakfasts we sometimes received something different and „grapefruit?and „mixed fruit?juice was also sometimes the same. They did their best but their ability to undestand and their pronunciation was our nightmare. The location could be for somebody a problem. The surrounding area is quite and it is necessary to go to the center or visit Chaweng Beach. We hired a car (20 EUR/day) and then motorbike (5 EUR-day) and it was nice to make our evening trips. On the beach you should expect rocks in the sea but we had no problem with that at all."
Kristian said, "This place is getting 6 out of 5 stars.. No less!.. We had a great time at the place, the view from the swimming pool is perfect. We lived in the garden Villa s and it was very beautiful. The staff was incredible helpful. They really took care of us with a smile, helped us with everything. They even helped us when my friend crashed into a taxi - they took care of the negotiating, so the price went 33% down.I can only recommned this place."
Bo said, "A lovely hotel with a very friendly and helpful staff. The bungalow was spotless and the whole resort was constantly cleaned, groomed and taken care of the whole time we were there. There were extremely few guests which we cannot understand as the hotel is very good value for money. The breakfast might not be to everyone s taste as it is a la carte, however, it would be a great waste of food to provide a buffet for so few people. We simply chose the Thai option, whic was always delicious. Other meals in the hotel restaurant were fantastic; the Thai chef is in a league of his own! It must be said, however, that we both enjoy authentic Thai food (even very spicy dishes),which is what we had the whole time, so we cannot say what Western food is like. But we cannot imagine that it could be bad. The location of the hotel might be a problem for some people, but we very much enjoyed the peace and quiet. There a big rocks in the water just off the beach so swimming can be difficult just there, however, it also means that one is spared the nuisance of jetskis and other noisy and dangerous vehicles which were a big problem on Chaweng Beach last year. As the hotel has a big and very nice pool (which we mostly had to ourselves)swimming was not a problem. The staff were extremely friendly, helpfuly and attentive and did their best at any time to make us feel welcome. Once again a big and heartfelt thank you to everyone. We will definitely book this hotel again."
Rahul said, "What a pleasant surprise! When we it seemed that a lot of the more expensive rooms were empty. Being used to brochure pictures that make a place look better than it really is, I was gratified that this place really lived up to its advertisement. We got there early in the morning, and had reserved three garden view rooms. They weren t ready that early in the morning so they gave my family a suite to freshen up in. Service generally was quick and friendly. The location on Lamai is great, right next to the beach and a few steps away from convenience stores and other facilities. They provide a shuttle in the evening to take you to Chaweng. The grounds are well maintained. The rooms are spacious, well appointed, with large bathrooms and very pleasant. The beach does not have very fine sand, but is very good nevertheless, and a short walk north will get you finer sand. The only gripe I have is about the restaurant, which is not very well managed, and can be a hit-or-miss affair. They made mistakes in our bills, in our orders, were late, etc. But there are plenty of other resorts close by where you can eat. They have a spa that we didn t try, but not too many other facilities - if it rains, you re on your own.Highly recommended!!!"
Arad said, "new hotel and room (only 3 years) so everything look new . very good service.and clean . the place is located at the end of lamai. if you r looking for a quiet place this is the place. for the center of caweng its about 25 minutes by car or bike . we rent a moto so its wasent big dealbecause its was probebly low season there were only few people in the hotel so its was american breakfest and not buffeanyway the hotel is good and the servie allso. if you want a nice beach its about 10 minutes walking because the beach in front of the hotel with rocks"
Rahul said, "Paradise found! Couldnt have asked for a better resort. Ideally located for a quiet holiday while being close enough for all the action, should one need to party! We everything was amazing - spectacular sea view, clean, comfortable and huge rooms. The restaurant was surprisingly good - contrary to a lot of the reviews we read here - I guess the trick is to stick with Thai food. The staff all around were great - friendly and efficient. Will positively return and strongly recommend Thai Ayodhya Villas as a great place for a memorable holiday."
J said, "EXCELLENT RESORT! We it was superb! The pool was nice with a great view out to the ocean. The beach out the front of the resort was rocky but if you walked up 5 - 10 meters there was a beautiful streth of beach for swimming/snorkelling. The Grand Father and Grand Mother rocks are next door to the resort and they make the scenery very nice. The only negative thing I can say is that the staff could be alittle nicer and wear a uniform (instead of casual clothes) this would of made our stay more enjoyable."
Diana said, "You must allow that on Koh Samui nobody go on foot - people use bikes, cars and tuk-tuk. That s why hotel has good location at the end of Lamai beach - you have quiet rest and quiet beach and you can go to any other place to make shopping, to visit restaurants, bars, and so on. It is important that on Koh Samui many hotels are disposed directly on the main road - but this hotel is not; you must go some steps by the small street from main road to hotel; it is very good for additional peace and silence.Tourist attraction - the rocks Grandfather and Grandmother - are two minutes on foot - very comfortable to go there early in the morning. Directly in front of the hotel there are some rocks in the sea but a few steps away from hotel ocean floor is better. Pick up servise is good, nice staff, nice clean rooms decorated in thaistyle, nise new villas. Change of towels every day. The only one thing which we did t like - the restaurant. Very high prices and VAT and service are not included in pricelist - take attention! American breakfast is good but monotonous - toàstes and eggs in different forms (scrambled, boiled, omelet and so on) every day. Angelo said, "A wonderful place , colorful garden, quiet and clean, nice rooms , Kind personel , far from Lamai trafic and confusion ,very good rate quality vs price. Good place for families. The only thing not at very high level is restaurant, better have lunch or dinner out."
Mrs said, "Beautiful resort, we had a lovely bungalow at the front - We only day, we had the resort to ourselves as they were nobody else booked in ... which was ashame (maybe because it was low season). Resort a bit away from the center of Lamai, that s why we went end a relaxing moment"
anne said, "I had everything needed for a comfortable stay. The grounds and pool were lovely, and it was far enough away from centre to be peaceful but near enough if you wanted to enjoy the nightlife in town. Only 2 minor complaints were that there could have been better cable TV channels (only 1 in english)and the resturant could be better (service was a bit hit and miss-although the staff did try). On the whole I enjoyed my stay and would go there again. Recommended."
Sarit said, "The hotel is beautiful - Nice, clean, new.big & comfortable room. the location is at the end of Lamay beach at a very quite location. good for people who don’t want to be at the center.10 minuets drive from Lamay beach center.best for romantic couples and families.one thing that needs improvement is the reception ?the receptionict English is very bad and it is very hard to communicate and get information."
Greta said, "We stayed in a minisuite next to the beach. We liked it very much the hotel the staff, the food. We will recommend this to other people."
