Ludwig said, "We were totally satisfied and pleased with our hotel. The breakfast offered a rich variaty of asian food, european dishes, cereals and 3 or 4 different fruits. The rooms ( family deluxe, garden view) were big enough for a longer stay. The aircondition was a bit to loud. We would like to have more furniture to store our belongings. The furniture was thai style, wooden, good looking and in a good shape. The Bathroom was big enough, always kept clean. The balcony headed into a little garden. The swimming pool was nice, we used it very often. The restaurant is divided in a house and open air. Many evenings there were specials like barbeque, all you can eat, seafood served at the beach. Unforgetable the evening with seafood al you can eat lying on the bench, watching the ocean and eluminated baloons. In the afternoon we got a little appetizer for free. The beach was cleaned every day with comfortable benches in a good condition. The best of all was the well trained, motivated and friendly staff. The high level of education in english and the aim to fulfill the guests wish for an perfect holiday is remarkable. We would book there anytime again."
Aleksey said, "Everything were just great!!! It was the best vocation in my life!"
Haydn said, "Great spot on Lamai Beach. Beach was ok, but a bit better as you went further south along the beach. Thai House was great. Food was excellent and service spot on. Friendly without being over bearing. The only suggestion is that celing fans should be in the rooms and the air con is a bit noisy. Needed ear plugs from the local pharmacy to sleep!! But that could have been just my room. And LCD tv s maybe the go as well!!"
John said, "Yes Very good place too stay lovely hotelstaff very friendly . Needs more sunbeds on the beach front . I would recommend the Thia beach resort We Enjoyed our stay john & irene - Liverpool England"
Philip said, "The hotel room was very nice, but the Garden view wasn t much of a view with 2 large water cisterns right off the balcony. The hotel staff were very nice and helpful. I enjoyed the stay there."
Frank said, "This hotel is very nice, everything is clean, the air-condition ist not noisy, all the staff and waiters are very friendly. Breakfast ist good, the food in the restaurant is also good. The pool is very nice, the small villas are looking very beautiful. My deluxe garden view room was european style nad not so beautiful as the rest of the resort."
Domokos said, "Beautiful hotel located on the Lamai beachfront. Very well maintained, beautiful garden and buildings. We have reserved a Deluxe Family room with Garden View. We were on the 3rd floor thus we have had a pretty good seaview as well. The rooms are large, we had 2 beds (queen and a single). The massage on the beachfront is a must! Very friendly staff, with limited english skills.Breakfast is good, however it is strange that they do not cool the food in the buffet - the cheese and the salami is sweating in the sun :-) I would return to this hotel at any time.On fidays they have a special theme night wich we did not go to, however it looked very good. Try it."
Mohideen said, "Resort is homely. Rooms are clean, the service is good. But felt expensive for the facilities. The resort is close to the beach. Sea food was very good."
Michelle said, "Beach front villas - wery spacious and clean. A little less modern, but typically Thai. Nice size balconies and great location within the resort. Had issue with A/Con however changed our rooms for the night and fixed next day. Service was good and staff friendly. Meals were excellent and reasonable. Lovely setting on the beachfront. Pool clean and lots of sunbeds. Breakfast average. Enjoyed our stay. Lamai has alot of restaurants and bars, more than Chaweng I feel."
Debby said, "Pros: 1.Reception staff who greet you like a friend every time you pass through.2.Restaurant staff who can t do enough to ensure you are being well looked after in their spotlessly clean (NO FLIES) restaurant. 3.Great breakfast selection daily, which is kept covered, fresh and hot.3.Evening beach dining by candlelight. (We ve been married nearly 25yrs and even we felt the romance of the setting. 4.Little wicker baskets in the room containing the beach towels and umbrellas in the wardrobe - it s the little things that count!Cons:1.Our room was clean but basic and the bathroom was a little tired. (But neither were horrible).2.The balcony faced straight onto a banana tree which blocked ALL further views.3.The street to the side of the hotel is where the rain water washes onto the beach - bringing all the rubbish from the street with it. Although to be honest it didn t seem to spoil anyone s enjoyment of the beach.4.When checking out we were charged for items we had already paid for and stuff we hadn t had. But for the sake of just a few 100 baht we didn t let this spoil our view of the hotel and it s staff.Overall: We then moved to the Aloha, at the other end of Lamai beach, for our second week. Thai House Beach Resort was by far the better hotel of the two. Even though the Aloha had great views from the balcony and far larger and more modern rooms, THB Resort leaves it standing in terms of customer service, cleanliness in the eating areas, the little extras that make your holiday special. I d fully recommend the Thai House Beach Resort. We walked off our breakfast each day by strolling along the beach to the rocks (1 mile?) where there is little bar (THE BLACK PEARL BEACH BAR) where you can sit all day with probably the BEST view on the beach, sipping cool drinks and watching the world go by - who needs a balcony??. ENJOY YOURSELF"
Michael said, "hotel position great for town (laundry 10mtrs away)staff very helpful @ friendly,ASK if you want kettel/tea-coffe equipment.food good rooms ok but beds hard.pool fine not to many loungers,if hotel busy then they are in demand"
Alan said, "Excellent location, friendly staff. Rooms small with insufficient storage but villas fantastic. Overall a great hotel and highly recommended."
Jessica said, "What a lovely hotel, we went there for our honeymoon and the staff and facilities were absolutely brilliant. It was our first time in Thailand and I would definately go back and I thoroughly recommend the Thai House to everyone. We it was really cute. The customer service was excellent. The food was excellent too and we had a great time at the beach barbeque."
Hans-Rudolf said, "Absolutly great hotel with friendly employee, nice pool, great beach and the beach villas are really superb. Anyway, Lamai is the best spot on Ko Samui"
Edward said, "ad hotel: The first room offered was right next to a very active building site. After the first night and early wake up, I went complaining. Hotel management offered us a free upgrade and we were able to stay at a very nice room on the top floor for the rest of the week. The hotel itself is very clean and most of the staff are very friendly. Breakfast is good, but mandatory and too expensive. The whole hotel seems a little expensive, but is reliable in terms of safety and cleanliness. After checkout the hotel desk manager accused us of stealing a bath robe, he even ordered his personell to open our suitcases and asked for 2000 TB as compensation. Since we did not take one of the lousy bath robes, this incident caused some unneccessary stress and annoyance at the blame of the hotel. In overall, and also because of this last incident I would definitely not book this place again.ad beach: is nice, but the hotel section seems a bit small. too manny annoying merchants do not leave much room for relaxing at the beach."
Wendy said, " loved it. The rooms were a good size with a nice balcony and good sized bathroom. The beds may be a bit hard for some people - my daughter thought so but fine for me. There was some construction going on next door but only something on a small scale and didn t bother us. The pool was nice but sun loungers not always available because some people reserved them for long periods with their towels while not using them! A bit disappointing. However, we always found a sun lounger either on the beach or by the pool. The beach in front of the hotel is quite good and is roped off from jet skis. Not a lot of jet ski action though and when they are used they are a long way off shore. It is only a short walk - less than 100 meters to a jet ski and buoy free swimming area if it bothers you. There was a good choice for breakfast although my daughter was disappointed that maple syrup was not available. The staff were all nice - helpful and polite. Our only other complaint was there was a bit of rubbish on the beach that I thought could have been picked up on a regular basis. Great location - Lamai is a nice beach being a bit quieter than Chaweng. We were pleased we chose to stay at Lamai rather than Chaweng. Chaweng good to visit but too busy to stay there. Ate out at the hotel restaurant which was good - dinner on the beach recommended on the quilted loungers. Also nearby Utopia has great food and excellent value. Further down beach Rich Resort also very good. Liked the shopping in Lamai also. Would highly recommend this hotel and will return."
Laura said, "Lovely clean hotel with excellent pool and Beach areas. All of the rooms are nicely decorated and the staff were friendly and very helpful."
Myles said, "nice place with good service. a bit more tightly packed together than the pics on the website suggest but good nonetheless. i d recommend Lamai over Chaweng as it still has a bit more of a relaxed pace and island feel yet all the convenience of chaweng. rooms don t have things like tea-making facilities etc but if you ask for them they might bring them..."
jemal said, "I want to say that this was one of the best stays I have ever had in Thailand. My stay here was a surprise birthday present for my fiancee, she loved it. Everything from the staff to the room sizes were exactly as advertised.I even asked if the desk could find me a private driver for the day (i guess thats not common)and in a couple of hours, wha-la! With all the could stuff being said if i had to say something negative, it would be these two things. This resort really needs to work on there menu, the food was not bad, but the selection was not big and did not vary for those evenings on the beach. The second negative is, you dont charge guests for hotel slippers, robes and towels OK, but not slippers. Oh sorry there is a third they need some gym equipment. This is an excellent Resort, it s quiet, perfect for family s and couples. It is also a reasonable distance from the main party sites. I am planning on staying there again, next time i m in Samui."
Chris said, "The 4 of us came for our 30th Birthdays and had a great time in this resort. Unlike some other reviews we didn t notice a lack of sun loungers, although the best spots were taken early! The setting is lovely, the rooms (we had villas) very nice indeed and the pool area is nice. It is on a lovely stretch of Lamai beach (further south is horrible, but further north has a lovely charm similar to quieter places on less developed Thai islands). The staff were helpful and attentive, espeically the beach bar and pool staff. The front desk staff arranged jeep hire and airport transfer will no hassle or dramas to us. The only negative was the overpriced pool side food and drink, and in general the evening beach dining was a let down food wise. Thankfully there are plenty of alternatives in the area (again, walk north up the beach for lovely beach front dining at good prices). All in all though, a lovely place and we would definately choose the resort again were we to return to Samui."
Nina said, "Nice thai style hotel, very god food and greate beach. The rooms need some update, but the balkony was big and a god place to relax.Lamai is a nice place for families."
Tino said, "Thai House Beach Resort Lamai"
Tamir said, "name is Shaya Tamir. My wife, two friends and I just got back from Thailand and wanted to share with you our experience in this hotel. We made reservations for the hotel 3 months before the trip for 4 nights (20/2-24/2). When we got there, the manager told us that he has a room for us starting from the next day. He sent us to another hotel, a chipper one and with a lesser location (not on the beach). When we complained about this, he offered us a discount of 500 Batt in the hotel dinner (which worth about 1500 Batt in total). We declined and told him that his offer is not suitable. While we an umbrella simply because they did not have enough of them"
Mike said, "Great Hotel, friendly staff, very comfortable and clean. Most amusing aspect was the Europeans race for the sun lounges each morning. The beach seemed as good as anywhere we found on Koh Samui and definately nicer than Chaweng. Night life was limited to slightly tacky open air bars filled with young thai girls all trained in pole-dancing etc..."
Sarah said, "The hotel is located on a very relaxed beach in Lamai. Great location and pool. Rooms were nice and clean with good sized private balcony (deluxe garden view). The on-site massage services were excellent and located right on the beach so that you could listen to the waves crash. Just stay away from the restaurant. The food was average and drinks were weak and expensive in terms of Thailand prices. There are so many better restaurant options within walking distance and around the island- there is no need to stay on-site. The restaurant staff likes to clear out the lounge chairs early (1500-1600) to make room for their on-the-sand dining. We were still wanting to get some more sun - so try and do that in early in the day. However, the desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall it was a good experience and we would return to this location in the future."
beatrice said, "This resort is excellent, lovely setting, nice area, very clean, nice staff. Will definitely go back"
Nolan said, "We had a great stay at the Thai House Beach Resort. The room was clean and spacious and thoroughly cleaned each day. We would definitely recommend it to friends."
Veronika said, "We really did enjoy our 12day stay in our Beachfront Villa next to the Pool.It was like having your own private Pool.Especially as the Hotel was not full at this time of the year. Beach too was very lovely, clear waters and white sands. Hotelstaff was very friendly and helpful. The room was done every day very nicely with fresh bedlinens and towels. Diner at the Hotel was a little more expensive as at the Restaurants nearby. But worth it, as they set candlelight dinertables at the beach. a very nice Ambiente, an experience we always will remember."
thor said, "Perfect hotel, great service and good value for money. Very big clean rooms. Will come back one day..."
Mrs said, "Very nice hotel on a lovely beach. Good location as away from hussle and bustle but only five mins walk. Family rooms lage and in main building. A little diappointed with the view from the balcony but a fantastic holiday and would def return"
Jennifer said, "The staff was amazing. The breakfast was great and the beach location is perfect for swimming. We have 2 small boys and they swam in the beach everyday. The rooms were a bit plain. The resort is in the best place for shopping at the markets. We would definitly stay here again."
Bjørn said, "Great hotel for my family. 2 adults and 3 kids:14, 9 and 7 months. Only little thing that could be complained about is that we got ants in our room in the beginning of our stay due to our kids spilling coke in the room. But after that no problems. Great personell, friendliness and the massage is cheap and fantastic. My wife was a daily customer, and she couldnt praise them enough. Since we were travelling with an infant, we were anxiuos before arrival, but we were taken good care of. I would recommend this place to everyone."
Mr said, "Lovely hotel large airy rooms with air con.Staff extremely friendly and could not do enough for you.We had a leek in the bathroom which was fixed immediately and a full apology was offered for the inconvience when there really was no need.Pool and gardens were absolutely lovely and the beach was swept every night so that it was clean for the start of the day.The massage ladies were wonderful and really made you feel relaxed and special as did all the staff, even the cheeky pool bar boy who liked to have a joke with everyone made our holiday. The restaurant was excellent and what a place to have dinner right on the beach served with locally caught fresh seafood. After the noisy streets of Bangkok Koh Samui is a beautiful island with lots to see and do and we will definitely be returning."
Chan said, "Thai House Beach Resort is a nice, lovely place. You feel so warm as the staff very nice, friendly and helpful. It is a small hotel that you feel relax, better than you stay the grand hotel.......commerical...! I stay at Thai House Villa, the room is very clean and tidy."
Roger said, "The resort has a good welcome feel to it with a friendly staff. Rooms are spacious (we had a deluxe seaview which included an extra bed for our 11 year old) and clean. The resort is situated on a very good stretch of Lamai beach and is handy to good restaurants and shopping. On the downside, you had to go looking for poolside service and breakfast, while adequate,is unimaginative. Can recommend."
Elten said, "The hotel is nicely situated near the center of Lamai. The pool area reaches directly to the beach and the see. Each day the chairs are equipped with fresh towels. The hotel is new and very propper with flowers everywere. The staff is very friendly and helpful."
Frode said, "Hotel inkl staff/service ok."
Pontus said, "Great location and very nice, intimate facilities. We been to Thailand four times before. We are 2 grown-ups and 2 kids. We was very pleased with our villa. A bit hard beds and uncomfy cushions and bathroom smelled a bit since part has no roof to create inside/outside-feeling. Service and language was sometimes a bit of a problem but staff improved once manager was around. Beach was a bit windy with two small kids and unfortunately some oil or tart had gathered at the beach/waterfront that made our feet black, not so fresh. Location in Lamai is super - just in centre but yet very quiet. Massage was best we have had. Breakfast nothing special. Dinner/lunch was twice as expensive as surrounding places but might have been worth it - we did not try. Design of hotel very thai and truly beautiful villas, pool area and gardens. All in all - a very nice experience with very few details to complain about. One of two decent hotels in Lamai. A close to 4 experience."
Pontus said, "Overall very good. We are two retired adults but our son-in-law booked hotel. Location in Lamai perfect with easy connection to beach and city at same time very piece and quiet. Service improved during stay. Language sometimes an issue. Very handicap-friendly facilities with few stairs etc. Pool area and gardens lovely and massage outstanding. Breakfast a bit thin but ok. Beach villa was excellent."
Holly said, "Very enjoyable - room was clean and service was good. The beach was rough to swim in but this was to be expected at the time of year we were there. Quiet area and the massage people were great! Restaurants in the area were fantastic, but if you are looking for nightlife, this is limited."
Olivier said, "The hotel is one of the best on Lamau Beach. For the first 10 days we if I had to choose again, I would rather have the room 207 than the Villa.Anyway, apart from that, the service was quite good. The food very nice even if the lunch menu didnt have a large choice of food. The pool was big enough. The TV didnt have a lot of english channel but, well, if you wanna watch TV dont go in holidays. The only drawback for the coconut trees. Quite big and in the afternoon you ay have to move your sunlounge often if you dont want to in the shade. And after 4pm, wherever you are in front of the hotel, you will be in the shade.Which is really a shame because you couldnt still enjoy the sun for at least two more hours if it wasnt for the palmtrees."
Dorte said, "A very, very nice place. We had booked for 10 days in advance, but after looking around in the arear, we choose to stay another 6 days, because it was so great. It has finished building this year, and everything is nice an clean. Two clean towels + a small towel, and one bottle of water pr. person pr. day. The minibar is cheap and fuild up every day.The restaurant is very good to. We were there with our two daughters, 12 and 15 years, who enjoyed the place as well. The shopping street was two minutes away, and the pool and beach just outside the hotel. The staff were all very nice, we have absolutely nothing to complain about. Hi to Choy, and Decha, we will miss you, hope we see you agen."
Jean-Jerome said, "Excellent Premises (brand new construction), the best location on Lamai (close to any facilities + the best part of the beach), perfect services from all staffs +"
Ben said, "New hotel just having final stages completed. A little expensive compared to others but worth it because everything in perfect condition. Excellent location - 20m from main strip & right on a great beach. Staff could learn a little more english but we managed. Bungalows are great but if you get a back one, you might as well have a front hotel room as they are next to each other. Would highly recommend if you are willing to pay the bit extra but you can find almost as good for much cheaper."
Bengt said, "Very good place. We clean bungalow. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is 20m from the beach, and it is a great panoramatic seawiew. Breackfast OK."
Jane said, "Very pretty hotel, particularly villas. Restaurant served very good thai food at reasonable rates. Staff all committed to giving good service. Particularly appreciated daily change of towels, bedding, and beach towels. We spent two weeks at hotel. First week was great, but second week hotel filled up and the facilities couldn t really cope eg not enough beach loungers, pool area crowded with all pool area loungers taken before 7.00am each day. Building work is almost finished on approximately 20 new hotel rooms, which can only add to the general overcrowding of amenities when they are complete. Sea and beach dirty, although hotel staff did eventually respond to requests to clear rubbish from beach. Villa was a lovely design and size, but unfortunately the outdoor bathroom gave some problems (cats sleeping on netting above shower overnight, and using it as their toilet, which resulted in terrible smell in the room every day). Coped by buying and burning incense. Also bad smell from drains most days. Cockroaches in room. Most of the above problems could be sorted out, but wouldn t return because the hotel pool area and amenities aren t large enough to cope with the volume of guests."
Kevin said, "The location is just fine. We enjoy Lamai Beach. The bungalow was strange with the screen overhead that permits rain to drain onto the shower area. Worse of all is the stench from the toilet drainage. If it were not for strategic use of the bathroom door and constant insense buring, it would have been unlivable. The staff was friendly, but not well trained. The kitchen was not accomplished as we limited our meals to breakfast. We understand such a new venture, but doubtfully we will return."
David said, "What can I say? The best accomodation we could have possibly hoped for. We the garden shower in the bathroom quite a novel idea. The staff were excellent and very attentive. If you need anything arranging by them, speak to Koy, she seems to know everybody on Koh Samui. The food served in their beach front restaurant is also excellent, with great views along Lamai Beach. We will definately be staying there again. I would recommend that you stay in one of the villas rather than the new apartments as you won t have very good views from your room, but it is still only a couple of minutes walk to the pool/beach. All in all, a brilliant place with friendly staff who will make your stay very memorable!!"
Anthony said, "My wife and I ing. Room was cleaned daily, large bathtub/shower, good hot water, a/c, referig, large closet, kingsize bed (Thai firm), TV (HBO, Animal Planet, and ESPN only), safe, and free of insects ( a few mosquitos). No phone in the room. Grounds were equally fantastic. Property is located directly on the beach with a well maintained and clean pool. Lots of padded lounge chairs around the pool. Lamai beach is clean with semi coarse sand. Ocean is excellent for swimming with no rocks in the water. Property is located in a centeral area of Lamai with an ATM and convenience shop at the corner. Hotel includes breakfast. At the time of my stay a hotel portion of the property was under construction....so I can only comment on the Villas. There is actually only one beach front villa, but the others all have views of the water. The resort was only in operation for two months at the time of my stay, which may account for the outstanding material condition of the units and grounds. Time will tell on how well the properety is maintained. Bottom line: I would most definitely recommend the Thai House Beach Resort to any family or friends...and I would stay there again."
