Caroline said, "Lovey place, quiet and understated, took the hassle out of the trip completely. Pick up and drop off service for the airport, breakfast was fab - great coffee and yummy sausages. Room itself was a decent size, the outside shower a novelty & the terrace is practically on the beach. John the owner was helpful, knowledgeable and personable. Hats off, he runs a gem of a place."
Mr said, "Thought this villa was brilliant. Very cheap, clean and very friendly staff. I recomend paying the little more and get the sea view villa. Views from the bed are stunning"
Shireen said, "we spent 3 days at the secret garden resort. had a great time, the staff was super friendly and john was great! we had a great dinner there with 13 people. rooms and bathrooms are very clean. the beach was not so nice, a lot of broken glass lying around. but a great start for our trip! thanks!shireen + nadia + kerstin"
Jöran said, "Nice and clean resort with a very kind and helpful owner and staff. Situated near the airport it is the perfect first stop before moving on. Very near the pier where the ferry to Koh Phangan goes. The only thing to complain about is the beach, it´s not so nice if you want to take a swim. There are som good restaurants in the vicinity of the resort, their own restaurant is good but a little expensive compared with the others. If you want more stores and restaurants it´s only around 20 minutes with car to Chaweng Beach."
Patrik said, "Very good resort. The owners are very kind and will help you with whatever you need. Perfect!"
Tarryn said, "Wow!!! Awsome!! Had a fantastic time. JJ and Rebecca, thank you so much for making our honeymoon unforgettable! The Secret Garden is a lovely place to stay! Our bangalow was perfect. Will definatly stay here again when we return to Thailand."
jackie said, "For location this accommodation wins hands down. That is from the beach front bungalow.John and Rebecca Jarman have taken the place and up scaled some of the amenities. The bungalow was clean and comftable. Lacking in towels of a decent size though and tea and coffee making facilities. The food is on the steep side for Thailand. They charged us extra for veering from the breakfast menu even though I was in hospital for 5 days and had no breakfast. The beaver bar across was banging out music until 4 am the first night and I thought that this would stay the same. On other nights though they closed earlier.I had the idea that you would be able to have a drink around the bar with others staying there but the bar was shut by 9pm each night. The beach in front of the bungalows looks idylic but it is full of broken glass and has a couple of deck chairs. It would not be much of an investment to get some plastic loungers. My days of lying on a towel are gone.We were attracted to the Secret garden because of the music that was on on Sundays. This was no longer on but the day I came out of hospital there was a childrens party!!!!!!!!At 1800 bhat low season it is not the cheapest option on Samui and would warrent the extra touches such as sun beds decent towels etc and a TV that you could get reception on.John and Rebecca were very kind to me when I was ill and gave me lots of info etc.You will seldom stay in a bungalow with such an out look if you go for the beachfront. If you are going upmarket you need the extra touches. All in all though would recommend."
theresa said, "My family ( 2 children aged 2 and 7 years )and I large enough for four of us, I found the amenities disappointing. A small childrens play area which is really dirty and the owner made it quite clear this was a business he was running. The prices of the drinks and food is high compared to other places in Southern Thailand. The beach here is rubbish so I would suggest that families stay elsewhere to avoid dissapointment."
Thomas said, "n April 2007 we Rebecca (the owners) as very friendly and helpfull persons. We where looking for a quiet place and found it at Secret Garden. For days we had the beach nearly for us allone. The feeling at this beach is a little bit like Thailand many years ago .But if you like to go to the much more crowdy place of Chaweng, you can reach it in short time with the tuck tuck or taxi. Our bungalow was no. 2, always clean, quit big enough, with aircondition, tv and fridge inside. The nice looking bathroom was open air and quite hot in the daytime. The owners offers you to take your breakfast all day at the time you prefer. If you like, you can walk to Big Buddha in a couple of minutes. The small town supports all you need.A 24hous open 7eleven right around the corner and some Thai Massage, hairdresser and open air cookshops. The food in Secret Garden Restaurant with beautiful sea view was allways very fresh, delightfull and well composed. We are looking back with best feelings to our passed holidays and will suggest this location for all who are looking for a personally, quiet and small but best managed bungalow resort. Hope we will see JJ and Rebecca once again. Ute Born and Patrick Freitag"
Geoff said, "If contemplating a stay here, one should be aware that it is neither garden nor resort like, but a motel on a busy strip of tawdry bars and other establishments. These were noisy until the early hours of the morning. The room itself was fine, but the website did not honestly describe the motel or the setting. Despite the increasing commercialization of Ko Samui, there are still good spots to be found. We did much better on Mae Nam beach."
avishy said, "very nice people and a very clean resort.the beach is quite small but very quiet and the best place to sweam .we stayd at room no.2 and it was ok.from room no.4 and up are a bit close to the road and can be a little noisy, specially during the day.the room is very lightend and we would recomend eyes cover for better sleep during morning hours.brekfast was ok but restaurant portrions are a bit small but not so cheap. the best way to get around the island is by motorcycle-very cheap and getting anywhere is easy.thanks john and rebecca.it was great"
Moises said, "Simple,plain...great price. Need new beds as current ones are rather hard. Great hosts, however, and we enjoyed our stay greatly!!"
Alexander said, "Just 9 separate bungalows, beach front more or less, but: sea is not best of the place. That s a major minus. Better choose Chaveng or Lamai beach front hotels, coner situated. This hotel is goos, staff is good, price is quite high but understandable, they have real live must every sunday but: no feelig of the sea."
Klaus said, "Nice Location, fine room, best management in town."
laura said, "This resort was lovely! Very clean and well maintained bungalows and grounds. It was an excellent location - far enough away from busy Chaweng beach, but close enough for trips to other beaches, shopping and restaurants. The owners were charming people and if back to Ko Samui, we will stay at the Secret Garden Again. Cheers from Canada"
annika said, "A lovely little place, perfect for a quiet and relaxing vacation. Very nice and clean. John and Rebecca (the owners) were very friendly and most helpful. Taxi to Chaweng takes about 10 minutes and cost 300 bht. Boat to Koh Phangan only a few minutes away. I would absolutely stay at this place again !!"
dagfinn said, "the bugalows had a beautiful location more or less direct on Big Buddha beach. Bungalows where small but cosy and newly renowated , the place was run by english/chinese couple. The bungalow had outdoor private toilet/shower attached to the bungalow , one felt like showering in the free open air . Nearby was all you need in when on vacation , the small food stalls, atms, bars massage and to get to the more famous chaweng beach one needed to take taxi and pay fixed amount of 300baht. Also good value for money , i will stay there again"
