Jennifer said, "we loved Rocky s Resort! our room (large junior suite) was beautifully decorated and spacious. the pools were a great bonus and the grounds are beautifully manicured,and the staff is so friendly and helpful. well worth the more expensive rate. the restaurant had a great menu and the food was amazing, however the pricing seemed a bit on the high side...even for a higher end resort. we wished we could have you get what you pay for! Not recommended if travelling with elderly or disabled as the resort is set on a slope to the beach, plenty of steps to get to your room or garden pool etc. Room detail is amazing from entering with fresh orchids and flower displays. Has the unique furnishings from local businesses. Overall Highly recommended!"

David said, "This hotel is first class all the way. We had our wedding at Rocky s and would never have it any other way- it was perfect! Luke is amazing and all the other staff for that special night were fantastic. This is the perfect wedding/honeymoon hotel as it has its own private beach, 3 pools, and great cocktails. We recommend getting a scooter to get around as the hotel is a bit far away from shops and Lamai beach. Another point is if you are travelling with elderly or unabled people try to get a ground floor room as the stairs and paths around Rocky s can be quite dangerous. Apart from that this is one special place!"

Jon said, "We all the little things well looked after. The restuarant s dinner meals were fantastic with an assortment of Thai and Western food depending on your mood. I highly recommend the Rocky Resort for anyone wanting a relaxing and quiet stay. The staff were by and large excellent with any small problems being attended to quickly. The accommodation itself was very nice and cleaned extremely well each day (and at convenient times). The resort facilities were very good. On the downside, the resort is a long way to Chaweng (20 mins and around 300-400 baht tax ride) and a 20-25 minute walk to Lamai s restuarants and shopping. Any purchases from the resort (food, drinks, car hire) were at Western retail prices. Overall, though it was excellent."

I love the toilet at the sea view rooms... they are so spacious. comfortable and big beds... everything was great by their special arrangements for flowers and chocolates were quite a disappointment. But on the whole, most staff could speak english and facilities were always available. :)"

Ed said, "The hotel was very nice although the extensive building work did interfere a little with the ambience of the place. Not much to recommend the rest of Samui though, unless prostitution is your thing..."

Ron said, "the resort was lush & tropical with a wonderful view during full moon. the room was appointed nicely with the acception of a very hard bed. the meals were excellent, the bbq and breakfast were quite lavish but the evening show Las Vegas style was a bit out of context with the flavor of the islands. we loved the garden pool, sans children and the butterflies were a real bonus. so were the exotic flower arrangements and orchids abounding. thank you for a romantic holiday"

Erik said, "We the friendly staff. Very peaceful place with great pools and gardens. The restaurant was very good. Sea view was to a large degree blocked by trees. No swimming at low tide. Altogether a very nice place if you don t have to be in the middle of Chaweng or Lamai."

Chad said, "BEWARE... DO NOT BOOK at this resort around late April - there is a major festival in a temple next door that has rediculously loud music playing late into the night... We were in a beachfront villa but had to move higher in the complex to lessen the blow. The management made no special accomadation or compensation for our frustration at having to give up the nicer room on our honeymoon.Other than that the rooms, the service, the pool and the location were all high quality. The restaurant was a bit pricy, but nice."

Jacob said, "Nice rooms. Air Conditioning was unnecessary due to a wonderful breeze and screen windows. The Deluxe Beachfront was 40 feet from the water with a great view. The only problem was a balcony that faced the resort instead of the water. Not entirely private , but at the edge of the resort.The restaurant had good service, but was overpriced and I was not impressed with the quality. Can t beat the view and convenience, though. A nice italian restaurant is just down the road.Reception desk was very helpful. They set up tours, car rental, transportation, etc at our whim. They didn t exactly rush , but there was none :)Overall: A great place to kick back and relax. You don t have to lift a finger."

Wendy said, "My Husband and I have just returned from our best hoiday ever. We have just had 12 fantastic days at Rocky Resort. The hotel was beyond what we were expecting. The staff were always courteous and helpful. Scott the head chef made food to die for. The pools and gardens were very exotic and this made for a very relaxing holiday. We left there to go to Bangkok for 2 days and i wished we d hope that one day we will be able to return.Thank you to everyone who works so hard at the hotel.If there any negative comments it s just that the bar shuts dead on 11pm and it would ve been nice for it to stay open a little longer, especially as we met some lovely people and enjoyed spending the evenings having a drink and socialising.Rockys will hold special memories for us, as this was our first visit to Thailand and Koh Samui"

Caroline said, "We it was beautiful. The room was imaculate with spectaculer views. We were quite lucky as not all of these suites had views like ours. The food was also really good and we ate in the resort most nights. If we had to think of any negative points it would be that you need a taxi or bike to get anywhere, if you wanted to leave the resort at all, and the beach wasn t great for swimming.Overall we couldn t really fault this place, it was exactly what we were looking for and would recommend it to anyone."

Reem said, "this hotel was the best ive a bit bigger. staff were all really friendly and helpful and spoke good english. pools lovely. if you are wanting a place for the beach only chaweng beach the nicest as its rocky here but we still loved it and would definately go back!!oh the other thing is beware as tax is added to absolutely everything at your final bill!"

Zhong said, "This is really nice hotel with flower everywhere. Unfortunately, Samui had power problem in those days. In the first day, we cannot get sleep until later 11pm. I think hotel need have backup power to deal with this issue.Anyway, this is a good hotel with kindly people."

Every need one might have is taken care of. Great service for organising day-trips, great Thai massage in a beautiful setting, great food with view on the sea, great staff. Perfect place for a spoiled family holiday. We will highly recomment Rocky to family and friends, and our next holiday on Samui will be, no doubt about that, at Rocky again.One remark: car rental could be better."

Sarah said, "My husband and I were very happy to spend our Honeymoon at Rocky s. We could not have been happier with the food, accomodations and people at Rocky Resort. We were thankful that we hadn t booked our entire trip so that we had the opportunity to return there. We ard and later an upgraded room, and both were beautiful. Here you will meet very nice people like Jack, Sunnee, Katie, and Luke, just to mention a few. You will love the entertainment, the extremely creative chef (I had the best thai food and the best hamburger of my life there.. go figure)The location is convenient and beautiful, waterfalls, flowers, pools, the ocean, etc, and the services were of great value! The spa is a treat and extremely affordable! Book it now before its full! We will stay there if we are ever lucky enough to return to Koh Samui."

Charl said, "We were a bit dissappointed. Rocky s is nice and secluded, but the photos of the rooms on the website is misleading. Only the most expensive room looks like on the website - so our expectations was not met. THe beach area is not really suitable for swimming so we were confined to one of the two swimming pools. If you want a really quiet holiday Rocky s might suit you, but with 2 small kids we had to go to Chaweng beach (20 min away) to experience beach activities. Next time I will be cautious to trust only the website - references might prove to be more valuable."

Chris said, "This should be a good place to stay once the construction is completed. However, the resort should not have accepted reservations during the heavy construction period. Most facilities were closed, and we had to put up with round the clock serious noise, welding etc. Totally unacceptable, and we checked out after just 2 nights, as did all the other guests. The resort risks serious long term damage to its reputation by staying open, and I would advise anyone with a booking before the end of 2004 to think carefully before staying at the resort."

Michel said, "Rocky Resort would have been a very nice resort if it wouldn t be under HEAVY construction. They are remoddeling the entire resort, and will be doing so for a minimum of 6 more months. The noise was so loud that we could not have a normal conversation. I think it is outragious that they didn t mention this at all. When we went to complain about it the manager suggested we should leave the resort while they were working on the construction (from 8 am until 5 pm!!) so we wouldn t hear it. We left first thing the next morning..."

Although building work was in progress (as is the case on much of the island) it did not detract from the great atmosphere and level of service, which is being sought from both Luke and Erik, in their respective management areas. A wonderful holiday in very charming and comfortable bungalows... the BBQ night was great as were the breakfasts."

Kate said, "We had a fantastic time. Lovely resort, very peaceful and great location on the beach but also has a great pool. Bungalows were basic but had everything you could need. Food was brilliant and very good value for money. All in all, I would highly recommend staying there!"

Carol said, "It was great! The resort has new owners who have done a great deal of reno and change in a year. They indeed treat you `like family `. The food service is outstanding, The chef must be gifted. The menu is extensive, and one need never leave the resort for food, and not be bored. He is Thai, trained in Italy. Service is friendly. The Thai waiters are still learning western eating habits, like parmesan with the pasta. The surroundings are gorgeous, and the two pools, especially the top pool are wonderful. There are many families here. The prices are extremely reasonable by western standards.The only thing we did not like was the noise from the Buddhist festival next door (evenings only). That does not happen all the time. Just have another Coco Loco! The evening lighting was truly magical. The office staff go out of their way to help you. I give it a very strong endorsement. The restaurant and beach front swimming pool are well located.The restaurant chef is particularly talented and food is reasonably priced.The beach front bungalows are nicely appointed with views out on the water.The furnishings are modest but I strongly suggest the addition of hair dryers in the units. I found the new owners(last 7 months) to be very responsive to the needs of guests and are working on many improvements. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The Thai massages were just wonderful."
