Palm Island Hotel

Boehm said, "Hotel is on beginning of Chaweng beach.Rooms are small but large balcony. Have a great view to the pool and the sea. Pool is clean and ok for swimming. I stay there for 4 nights, it was fine there."

Mr& said, " generally value for money."

Andrew said, "On a positive note, the owners have clearly invested in the swimming pool, which is very nicely done and looks attractive in the photos on the website. It is a shame that the same cannot be said of the hotel rooms which are very tired indeed. We that looks set for development. The decor was non-existent and funiture especially drab and cheap. The shower room, though functional, was basic to say the least. The restaurant area is sparse and featureless and did not seem to attract any evening diners.The location is ok, but overall, The Palm Island needs to be at least 25% cheaper to represent fair value for money."

Patrick said, "first of all. there was a confusion when we first check in. sawadee did not fax them our payment even though sawadee already charged my credit card. the hotel staffs treated us with attitudes. they said it s not their responsibility to call sawadee and confirm these things but ours. luckly, about an hour later, everything is straighten out. secondly, the seaview rooms in this hotel are misleading. the rooms are facing the sea, but you cannot see the sea. the view is blocked by the garden and the pool. therefore, seaview is pretty much the same as gardenview. other than that, this hotel is alright. the rooms are a little old. but at least you are not surrounded by little flies when you are eating in the bar or hanging around the pool"

Inderbitzi said, "The Rooms were clean and big. The garden is very well kept and the pool is nice. The Beach was a bit disapointing. When it s low tide you can t swim in front of the Hotel. We had to walk down to the end of Chaweng every time we wantet to go swimming. Because it was always low tide in the daytime. The Hotel staff was not helpful and friendly at all. I would not stay here again."

Miriam said, "The hotel was lovely. We found both the rooms and the pool extremely clean and bright. Being upstairs and away from the pool and beach also meant the rooms were very peaceful. The hotel is at the quieter end of Chaweng beach but was all the better for it. Our only slight criticism would be of the bar and restaurant which could perhaps do with a bit of updating. However, they were perfectly adequate for breakfast and basic thai food. All in all, we had a fab holiday and were extremely happy with the hotel."

Phil said, "The room was as to be expected though the furniture was a bit damaged and the room could use a fresh coat of paint all in all it provided a good quiet location on the beach close to the main section of chewang but far enough away to be quiet and comfortable, breakfest was inexpensive and simple, the swiming pools were in good shape, the ocean is shallow about avg 3 ft deep up to 1000 ft out in the area of the hotel which was unusual, the beach was clean and uncrowded and the staff was helpfull, all in all It was a nice place to stay and I would consider staying their again."

Christine said, "This hotel is as it states, small family run hotel. I believe the owner takes a walk around the gardens each morning to greet the guests. Swimming pool/jaqcuzzi good, plenty of sunbeds and most of all I believe we had the best room on the whole of Chewange Beach. This lovely bungalow/room suite was a bread roll throw away from the sea. Beautiful sunrises and restful twilight when everyone has retired to prepare for evening. At the edge of central Chewang but if you use beach as road is much cooler and relaxing. Although hotel does not supply tea making facilities in bungalow they will fill a flask up with hot water and supply tea/coffee when requested. Only downsied to our visit was a horrendous boat trip with divers to islands in VERY BAD weather, would have liked to be given choice of not going out in such bad weather spending 11 hours getting wet and cold is no fun, so check with nearby tour company if they have registered with weather report for the day coming. Result of this was we were queing to use the hot bath jacquzzi in our room - lovely."

kowalski said, "Small family run hotel, well run. Pleasant atmosphere, Pool is close to the beach - about 20feet. If you want to use ( and therefore pay more) the adjacent hotels offer more of an international atmosphere. Palm Island Hotel please do not change."

Billy said, "Good location on Chaweng when your are travelling with children. Close to restaurants and shopping but away from the noise and nightlife. The pool was good.Ordinary room-quality due to the price.If I will travel with children next time I might return."

carolmcsherry said, "we stay at this hotel not knowing what things might be like after Tialand very sad events but I really loved it. The rooms very basic but clean staff very good but the location and pool made it perfect. Close to all night life and many eating places to cater for all. I will be booking as soon as posible to go back."

David said, "Chaweng is perfect. The beach and sea are very clean. The night life is fantastic. The hotel was fine, we again as there are more value for money places close by."
