Vichitra said, "Wonderful location, with easy access immediate access to the beach, helpful staff. Rooms were rustic and pretty, well cleaned and looked after daily. The pool was slightly small, but was well kept.Breakfast was a small menu, catering more to the westerners, with insufficient local flavours. On the whole satisfactory. The restaurant does make good thai dishes. The hotel is located directly on Chaweng Main Beach and town, walking out for nightlife, and food was easy too."
Warren said, "As usual I enjoyed my stay at the Malibu very much , it must be six times now . The staff were as friendly as ever and made my stay enjoyable and wanting for nothing . The pool was clean as was my room and the drinks were cold . A steady flow of hot coffee with breakfast overlooking the ocean and a few cold drinks at happy hour after a massage. Can not beat it . Warren from Australia"
Garry said, "Second year in a row staying at Malibu.Once again everything was perfect, the staff really do go the extra mile to make you feel welcome. Will definitely be booking the Malibu again next year .. What a fantastic place to stay"
Anna said, "It s a very nice place. Not so big and on the best part of the beach. All the staff are very friendly and hepful and speak some english. The only problem is that they don t have non-smoking rooms."
Janelle said, "Had a wonderful stay. The staff were very friendly. The bungalow was very clean and tidy. The location right on the beach was just great. Would definately stay there again."
Paola said, "beautiful location, nice small resort, quiet also if in centre chaweng, all conforts and very kind and helpful staff."
Vicki said, "Had superior B Room which was nice but bathroom not good. Had handheld shower. Did not like breakfast at all. Facilities are dated. No trees so no natural shade like other resorts. Moved to Baan Chewang after 5 days. Not much extra in cost and vast improvement!"
Frank said, "Best location on the best part of the beach. Moderat rates, great service if you ask for it in a proper manner. Nice pool but why worry using it when the ocean is 15 meters in front of the hotel. Aeroplanes overhead you have at any hotel along Chaweng.Breakfast was great.. be sure to order the omletts from the kitchen, try with ham and tomatos and also the different various Thai dishes. Try out the massages above the resturant. Can defently recommend the hotel and staff"
JD said, "moderate resort central in Chaweng.Rooms are good and nice decorated.Complimentary water and coffee every day. Cleaning of the room was most of the time very late (after 15.00hr).Breakfast was rather poor: every day the same, eggs could be better, bad toaster and very thick toast, we always had the last dishes, restaurant rather small for the number of rooms.Pool OK but not very charming, chairs are almost in the pool, so no splashing please (with small kids...)Resort is fine for a few days but not longer. Very expensive for what you get."
Allana said, "Thai people don t seem to know the word maintenance. But if you understand and love the Thai way of life then this hotel is great. The location is premium, far from the best accomodation but certainly not the worst. I would stay there again."
Jan said, "Room is ok. We discovered a big rat in the room. It’s important to now that from 7 am. To 11 pm there is pretty much noise, the hotel is near the airport and the airplane went just over the roof.. The breakfast could be better, but the people is nice as always."
Graeme said, "Nice big rooms, nice decor. Good value for money. Wouldn t bother spending the extra on the jacuzi room next time. Nice landscaping and on the beach, with sun beds. Pool wasn t too appealing, didn t use. We had room service and the tray wasn t taken by the cleaners for the next two days. Generally the staff were polite. They tried to double charge us for the mini bar when we left, but they didn t argue when we explained that we hadn t use it all. Friends of ours in a different room didn t have their mini bar stocked up, maybe they don t keep check? We got good value for money, had a nice time and the location was in the center, which we wanted."
Lars said, "Malibu is very well located in the heart of chaweng. We cleaning is excellent. Beds are typicly rock hard. There is no noise from the buzzeling main street. My only complaint was the breakfast staff who were very non thai service minded. If you asked to get something you got a a very unhappy face. The breakfast was not very good. I did´n expect much but it´s almost worth to eat outside of the hotel and get somre real breakfast. Simple things like cheese was missing most days. I recommend the hotel if you look to the rooms, location, beach and pool. If you demand high service and good restaurant in the hotel there are probably better places."
Pang said, "Our stay at Malibu was ok except that due to end of the low season and start of high season, the resort was doing renovation works while we were there. Appararently there was a major storm damaged some of the buildings. The sea was quite rough and tide was quite high and it wasn t possible to swim. However, as usual, Malibu services were pretty good and we had no problems or whatsoever. Malibu is located at centre of Chaweng and its accessible to the shops and restaurant but it is fronting the sea and had a nice garden that keep the peace. Overall, the timing was not too good and would be better to stay during the high season...around Jan to May."
k said, "Clean room, Bath was a tiled hole in the floor Breakfast could be improved. Otherwise enjoyed my stay. Good location on beach.Note on wall...800 Baht charge for guests !"
Mr. said, " swimming on the beach. Surely be back."
PATRICK said, "i had a very enjoyable stay the staff are exellent friendly and the experiance could not be any nicer on an exelent island will be back again soon. thank you all.regards paudie"
Sally said, "Fabulous location in the middle of Chaweng, but far away enough from the street to avoid the noise and on the beach = perfect! Rooms were very nice especially for the price and most of the staff were really helpful. Would definately stay there again."
Sarah said, "I really enjoyed my stay there. I originally booked for 2 nights to see if I liked it first. I enjoyed enough to stay the extra 2 nights that I was in Ko Samui. Right in the middle of everything, makes for a perfect location and is not too noisy. I would stay there again for sure, without a doubt. The people are very friendly and extremly helpful. Good time!!"
Fiona said, "We clean(Bungalow B) which accommodates three very comfortably. The location is very central in Chaweng but is not noisy at all. The reception and security staff were very friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was just OK and the pool area wasn t the nicest I ve seen but it does the job of cooling you off. Overall I would stay here again as its a good value hotel in the heart of it all."
Suken said, "we had booked 2 rooms with jacuzi. we had great fun, an unforgetable experience. the staff is very good and helpful. the hotel is just on the beach. a lovely place to stay."
marc said, "Malibu was brilliant for the price! The staff were friendly and really helpful, the location perfect... the beach out the front is best for swimming with the jetski s and still close enough to meander into Chaweng central for a few drinks. We had a jacuzzi room and found it magnificent .. though only used the jacuzzi once!breaky was reasonable but they will cook you eggs how ever you like it! We wanted to stay longer but unfortunately it was booked out (the only one booked out in the price range because it is by far the best)It s great for young couples and families alike ... even for young singles... though i d recommend for young singles to stay at Ark bar ... that is the main spot on the beach to hang out and have drinks!PS: for cheap cheap really authentic great thai food try the Ninja Crepe! Very popular!"
Virginia said, "Great place, helpful staff, nice pool, right on beach, beach has tables for evening meal on the beach each night. Rooms are very spacious, well appointed, big bathrooms, aircon and good TV. Very happy with my stay here and would stay there again."
Sean said, "thoroughly enjoyed my stay at malibu beach resort.great location, good pool, good breakfast and really friendly staff.will definitely return next time"
Helen said, "A lovely resort in a beautiful setting. Basic but clean and attractive accomodation at the budget end. The higher end, deluxe accomodation with jacuzzi was excellent value for money but could be noisy if you were staying on the ground level when your neighbours in the apartment above were walking around on the wooden flooring above your ceiling."
Fiorenzo said, "small resort with a very good location in center Chaweng. Good beach, no problem for sunbeds.Choose room type A, Jacuzzi type is good if you are 3 or more persons.Breakfast only sufficient"
Joshua said, "This resort is the best value for money place i ever service given for the stay was excellent! After staying there for the initial 3D 2N, i went back to book another few days after trying in a supposingly better hotel nearby. That place sux and charge much higher too... The rooms in Malibu is better than the pictures... Not like the chaweng buri place i beach and pool very good.Bungalows a little old but good value for the money.American breakfastbuffet ok."
Amit said, "The hotel is located on Chaweng beach which is the best beach in the island in my opinion. (if you look for some night life). The room was comfortable and big, the service was nice, the pool was ok but just ok, and in cleaning prespective the staff is ok, although they didn t clean everyday if we didn t ask them. Bottom line: quite good."
Marcelino said, "room was gorgeous, staff was outstanding, location is excellent, will be back in late june again, thanks for the wonderful time."
steven said, "Hotel was modest collection of 1 and 2 story Bungalows, maybe a 3 star caliber. It was right on the beach and close to clubs, bars and restaurants.I well appointed, the staff were very friendly, polite and helpful.I would reccomend Malibu to anyone and we will certainly be back."
Beverley said, "Great to see other people have written good feedback on this GEM of a hotel. Its great value for money, if we re in Chaweng, we stay at the Malibu beach resort. Its in a fantastic location, right on the beach, with plenty of sun beds + the pool area is close by. The bungalows are 50-100m from the main street, which is close for all the shops, bars and restaurants, but none of the noise. The standard American breakfast worth getting up for. Staff are friendly + helpful, the rooms are big + clean. The Malibu makes no false claims, its room have all you need - mini bar, air conditioning, hot water, shower, bathtub, TV + this year DVD players!!!!!!"
Erskine said, "Nice resort with good service, the resort have airport transfer only 350 baht for my whole family (3 persons) from resort to airport."
Jonathan said, "I highly recommend the Malibu resort. I found both the facilities and location to be excellent. Our bungalow was located very close to the beach and though it was thelow season, the price was far below what I would expect to pay for such a nice room, even in Thailand. Very nice Thai style. The atmosphere was great. One thing we enjoyed was the fact that one side of the hotel is in the center of everything while the other side has direct access to the beach and is very peaceful at night. I wish I could have would stay there again. Thank you to the Malibu staff for a great time."
NG said, "Resort location was good enough.Everything was good including all the services provided by the Resort.Their services had being improved for the bad comments given by the others before. The resort look like a little bit old but I like that feeling.Price was reasonable for a 3 star resort.I will try again to this resort if I went to Samui again."
Shuichi said, "-50m width site(north side 2nd floor has nice cement white view of parking of next hotel. Beds are fully visible from there employ.)-Terrible bar sound until 1 am at road side rooms, room shaking!-Water is brown, hot water 50% for time, pump is noisy after 30 minutes-Safty box was broken-Employee have nice smile(only that)-Linen change capability is 50-70% except robe(never)"
Tony said, "Very dissapointed in the standard of accommadation. We first it was ok, however the place needs to be completley referbished throughout. The room we the standard of cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired, even the restaraunt area was dirty (flies everywhere). Same choice every day at breakfast. Not what you expect at the price you are paying."
Tony said, "Great place in the heart of Chaweng Beach. Many hours spent in the pool looking over the beach. Rooms were fine and the air con muc preciated at night."
Mark said, "To be honest, unless you want dirty un kept rooms like we had , then dont bother, we had the jacuzzi deluxe rooms and they were discusting. When we told the reception about the problems, they said we can leave if we wish, not sort out the problems, So in a nutshell find another accomodation if you can unless you want to slum it!!"
Jeff said, "good value for money good location"
Rachel said, "I am surprised to see the reception of the hotel the moment I arrived. For the price I paid, I expected something better and more luxurious. The design and architecture of my double deluxe room is beautiful. However, the interior of the room is not very clean and I have to call housekeeping service to clean my room again. I wonder if the room has been vacant for a while. It was very dusty, the curtains looked old and the pillows stained. The toilet has foul smell and I have to use my own rosewater to do away the stench. The room is overall good but quite rundown and needs refurbishment. The wardrobe needs to be cleaned also. The swimming pool is not as big as depicted in the picture in the website. The complimentary breakfast was terrible and the choices were very limited. Nevertheless, the hotel staff are helpful and very friendly. I would consider staying in Malibu only if it is being refurbished."
Andreas said, "Very nice hotel in the middle of Chaweng beach. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. Friendly staff. Good food. Night Dining on the beach - didn´t eat the fish though cause it wasn´t fresh."
Katie said, "the rooms are really gorgous and desgined well. We asked for a room with a jacuzzi and was bit disappointed at the condition of bathroom plus our toilet kept backing up,but that aside, its in a good location beside the shops and beach yet its not noisey. I would recommend"
Angela said, "I was so impressed that I booked again recently. I was quite disappointed this time around though. The room we the bathroom wasn t all that clean. I also didn t think much of the service. The place has so much potential, it s a shame they have let things go. But apart from that it s in a great location and the pool over looks the beach."
Anne said, "we arrived not too sure of what to expect from other feedback. We booked 2 rooms and although the resort is not a first class hotel , it provided for us everything it promised. Its an absolute awseome location if you wnat to be on the beach but in the middle of the shopping and entertainment areas.Yes there are other properties closer to the night life but as its only a 5 minute walk from the hotel , we felt that the mlaibu was perfect. Shopping and restaruarnts on the doorstep. Bthrooms are abit different from the norm but they worked, hot wtare supply is abit unreliable but thats ASIA. That happens in all parts of Asia. Other feedback indicated that the breakfast could have been better but keep it in perspective with what you pay at this place. Breakfast was a choice of about 4 cereals , toast , jam , tea coffee fresh fruits, bacon , sausages , ham and eggs cooked to order. What do you wnat for your money? If you are of asian decent then yes maybe breakfast wouldnt be suitable as there was no rice or noodles on offer at breakast time. We had aproblem with the safein the room in one of our rooms and the staff were there within 10 minutes to fix that so once again , we felt it was excellent value for the money and that is the important thing to remember. If you want first class facilities then pay first class prices rather than putting down these hotels. They provide excellent faciliies for the money paid. The beach north of Malibu is over crowded but at Malibu we didn t have to fight for a deck chair each day .Noise appears to be an issue with some of the properties in Koh samui but malibu is set back about 50M off the main street so there is not noise to disturb you at night. Great shopping on the door step and if you wnat a cheap massage , turn left as you get to thge main street, cross over to the other side of the road and just about 100M along there will be ladies dressed in pink tops ( they also wear bottoms as well) and they offer a great service for next to nothing. Most massages are about 300bhat. Some only 250 bhat so for about $7 USD you can get a very highly recommended massage. The prices are fixed so not haggling either. Give the ladirs a 50bhat tip. They deserve it.We would go back to the Malibu next time. Its a great place at a great price if you are not wnating Hilton facilities and services. It covers the necessities at a very reasonable price. To us it was in the best location. Right in the middle of everything. We did not use the hotels transfer service because of the negative comments in this forum but in hind sight it might have been a good idea. Koh samui airport is failry primitive and taxis are not queing up. That takes abit of haggling and depending on how tired you are that could create some problems for you. Its about 300 bhat to get a taxi from the airp[ort to the centre of Koh Samui but some of the drivers will try to get alot more.Easy to get back as taxis are everywhere in town but at the airport there s not alot of choice."
Beverley said, "This is our 3rd visit to this accomodation. The malibu beach resort is a budget hotel in a fanastic location - keep this in mind + there is little to complain about. Excellent position - on the beach and close to shops, bars and restaurants. The standard Americanbreakfast is ok. Staff are friendly + helpful, the rooms are big + clean. Yes with little money and a bit of imagination this resort could be top class, but the price would double, look at the prices of its neighbouring hotels + resorts !!! {Baan Samui,Beachcomber, Chaweng Buri}If you want a top class hotel - you have to pay top prices. The Malibu makes no falseclaims its room have all you need - mini bar, air conditioning, hot water, bathtub TV + even a hair dryer. VALUE FOR MONEY!!!"
Eli said, "Big and nice Room , but luck of the Sea view that was missing for me"
