Just some steps outside the bungalow and you re on the beach and a long walk on the beach at sunrise or sunset is unbeatable! Perfect for those in love.Staff and owner were very helpful and friendly. Things were arranged immediately by the manager Kris. Everything was clean and the service was perfect.Internet access and DVD-library are for free!The taxi-driver didn t know where it was and had to ask several times. Suppose, it s still an undiscovered resort. Good for us!I only can recommend this resort."

Lena said, "It was so great!!! Nice tiny bungalows with very nice and helpful staff. For booking tours or getting information about koh samui you r welcome to ask the friendly guy at the front desk. The Maenam beach is in our opinion the best beach on koh samui. It is quiet, clean, good for swimming and you won t have a problem in finding gorgeous restaurants directly on the beach, starting tours around the island or to discover other destinations like the Angthong Marine National Park. We wouldn t hesitate to spend another holiday at Maenamburi Resort!"

Uwe said, "Fahre seit 10 Jahren nach Koh Samui und war zum ersten mal von der Unterbringung entäuscht.Die Räume waren dreckig.Das benutzte Toilettenpapier durfte nicht in die Kloschüssel geworfen werden,sondern in einen kleinen Korb.Andernfalls war die Leitung verstopft.Gegessen haben wir im Resort nicht ,dazu kann ich nichts sagen.Die vorher angezahlten Tage haben wir abgewohnt und sind dann in ein sehr schönes Resort umgezogen und haben den Resturlaub in Meanam genossen."

You needed to be up early and grab some chairs, as there weren t enough and some of the guests took to claiming them for the day!!!Staff were polite, and friendly. The room was clean, spacious and included a/c, tv, fridge and dvd player. Although still a bit overpriced."

Per said, "Very, very nice resort. We booked for 4 days,but if you want some - book another resort. Great management and great staff! This is one of Thailands best unknown secrets - and we will keep it that way. Do not tell anyone about this resort!! We will soon book for january 2009!"

Mikko said, "Just a wonderful place! We really enjoyed our stay here and most definitely will come back. The service was outstanding and the whole crew (cleaning, reception, kitchen, bar) in the resort was incredibly friendly. If you require any activity during your stay, the staff at the reception will help you with everything. The beach is quiet and clean, maybe the best in the whole island. You really don t need a pool when you re staying this close to the ocean. We still the ocean was only a few steps away. Two words: aivan loistava! (in English: just wonderful!)PS. Kris, keep up the good work!"

Michael said, "Very nice little place. Quiet, out of the way and nice beach access. Homey and decent Thai food. If you don t like dogs, be forewarned that there were two (very friendly, mind you) mutts hanging out on the property. Bathroom was a bit stinky. cleaning service excellent."

Holger said, "We had one of the nice beach bungalows No. 2. Room itself was nice and wonderful view on the sea. Bathroom not that nice, but ok. Service staff was always willed to do things good and fast. Booked beachfront four weeks in front of arrival, but unfortunately we had to stay for a night in another bungalow there - because the chief gave the beachfront to others. Nice or ? Why making a reservation, when u don´t get the room ? Well overall it was a nice stay because the beachbungalow is really right on the beach with a fantastic view on Koh Phangan. Breakfast was standard and same everyday."

Helgrid said, "Ein sehr schönes Resort mit netten kleinen Bungalows, zewckmässig eingerichtets udn sehr sauber. Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Die Gartenbungalows haben die meiste Privatsphäre, die aber derzeit leider durch Baulärm gestört wurde.Zum Frühstück unbedingt Banana-Pancake bestellen, auch die Yoghurt-Lassis sind unschlagbar!!!!"

Rik said, "We were not picked by from Airport and on arrival by taxi we were not received in a very friendly manner. The fact that the staff didn t speak english very well didn t help. The beach side bungalow was ok with a nice view. We had a good rest, as there was little to do in Maenam, as expected."

Kaminski said, "Schöne Anlage. Sauberer Beach. Sehr nette Staff. Sehr gute Küche !! Lek, die Köchin kocht super !! Wir waren sehr zufrieden und werden 2008 wieder dort wohnen. Einziger Mangel war im Room 14 die zu laute Aircon. Aber wir konnten schnell das Zimmer wechseln. Dort war es OK."

robin said, "lovley place- rently red one- so VERY clean and hiospitable- beds very hard which for me was problem. I wish tehy could offer bed pads so as not so very hard.- but other than that we really loved it.Very friendly & helpful staff. SO QUIET! and lovley swimming just steps away in deep, clear ocean. Moved to Baan Fah next door for 2 nights which was a disaster- filthy, lousy & rude service and quite a disgusting smelly room. It should not even be listed by Sawadee"

John said, "If you can t get one of the two beach bungalos the garden bungalos are next best. Clean towels daily and rooms cleaned. Great A/C, plenty of hot water, and the DVD with library is a nice touch. Breakfast was okay but not great. Water was good for swimming but poor visability. I think the rest of the island is the same, although, we had about 10 meters visability on a snorkeling trip to another island. All in all, the place grew on me. Quiet and relaxing. Walking distance to town and good restaurants. It is not a bad place for the price. The staff was friendly and accommadating. Our last day was not so great. We arose at 0445 for an early flight and had no water for showering or flushing. Then the taxi driver charged 300 Baht(10USD)for the trip to the airport that was supposed to be free, then stiffed me further by not having correct change for a 500 baht bill."

Davinia said, "Maenamburi is a very nice resort and excellent value for money. Breakfast was included as well, which we didn t realise when we booked, also free DVD hire and Internet access. There are only two Villas on the beach and we had booked one of them. When we arrived we were told there was a hole in the roof and we would have to spend the first night in one of the other villas. It isn t a matter of cost, so even if they had offered a reduced price (which they didn t), it wouldn t have been satisfactory. When we informed them it was our honeymoon, we were told they would have the hole fixed by 5pm. We sat on the beach and watched two cleaners make up and clean the room, so it appears the hole in the roof wasn t true. It was nicer than we expected which is always a plus point. One of the receptionists was absolutely lovely, but unfortunately on departure, the other receptionist thought it would be a good idea to rip us off with taxi fares! 750 Baht for three of us to go to our next stop Lamai Beach. It would cost less in a London cab. Maenamburi is a quiet resort, with some lovely restaurants along the beach. Unfortunately it was full of sunbed savers, so after an hour of being in the shade of a coconut tree, we decided to move their towels and beach bags, which as it happened didn t matter, because they finally returned over five hours later! Overall the hotel was excellent value for money and being small was a lovely environment. We wish we had one more night there and one less in Bangkok."

Erskine said, "Good bungalow and good location, because I visited Koh Tao on the next day, the resort location is closed to the pier, so I need not to wake up earily to catch the pick-up service to pier. Although I stay one night only, the lady of reception is very friendly and helpful."

Anja said, "When we finally moved into our on the beach-bungalow 3 nights late (!! - but a discount was easily negotiated), our stay was everything we could wish for! Maenamburi is very quiet (loved that!), quite clean and friendly - apparently German owned. There are nice restaurants just next door and fine everyday-shopping possibilities just up the road. Do not miss the fabolous (and very cheap) bliss u day spa on the way from Maenamburi to the main road. Our children aged 3½ and 6 loved the golden sanded beach and the sea which is fine for swimming (no snorkling - no visibility). The beach is cleaned every day by the personel. Taxi to Chaweng costs 300-350 bath per way. We definately recommend Maenamburi to travellers both with and without children."

Ilka said, "Small and sort of cute place. The shabbyish style came as a slight surprise compared to the photographs, but once you are there it doesn t really matter, because everybody is friendly and things run even if they may run slowly. During our stay the clientele was dominated by german and dutch older people and thus the only chance of having a sunbed was to wake up 6.30 and reserve one with your towel :-), for there is a scarcity of sunbeds compared to the amount of guests (the owner had purchased more sunbeds but the problem remains). The rooms are small but clean, although cleaning was at some spots a bit sloppy. Our bathroom sink, for example, we had to wipe ourselves since the maids did not seem to care to do it. Feels like home?Beware of overbooking, during our stay several guests were offered something less than they had a reservation for."

catherine said, "Great! We had an excellent time, the place was clean, the people super nice, the food was great in the restaurant. The free wireless internet was a nice touch as well. I hope to come back one day soon. Only space for improvement, and maybe it was my misunderstanding, was that I was never e mailed to confim the reservation (only after the initial deposit; a second deposit was apparently not required, but i never recieved a voucher or anything). As it turned out, I called from Bangkok and all was well, but they had me a bit worried."

Lawrence said, "These lovely cottages are nestled in a quiet area on the Maenam side of Koh Samui. We arrived to find a sparkling clean room, with all the advertised amenities in operating order. The staff is attentavie, friendly, and always available to assist. This is defintitely a quiet place, not the Chaweng party place..time to read, enjoy some casual sightseeing, and a sampling of small restaurants in the area..we would definitely use this resort again, and recommend it for others seeking a peaceful spot .."

Olli said, "Nice small scale resort. Rooms were ok, although on our second stay, the roof started to leak. We got a new room quickly though. In the garden, the bungalows are newer and have nicer bathrooms. Breakfast is quite simple, but we didn t feel like we would have needed anything more. Maenam Beach is truly quieter than Chaweng for example. So if you want to get away from the crowds of the Chaweng Beach, this is one option. On the other hand, not much action around here. There are some nice restaurants in Maenam village and you will more in nearby Bophut (Fisherman s village is full of restaurants). The place has a family-run feeling, and the staff tried their best to help us with our needs."

Arjan said, "The pictures show a more nice resort than it actually is. Of course service ok as everywhere, but the lack of a swimming pool here is killing the enjoyment if the sea is rough like we experienced during our stay on Samui. Breakfast is awful, movies which are free for use in your room are poor quality, mostly cam-shot movies from the cinema. No, this resort is really overprized! Quality of Meanam Beach is overall much lower than other beaches like Lamai. Will come back to Samui but deffinately not at Maenam Beach!"

Ng said, "On the first night of arrival,we request to change rooms with more privacy. But staff reject our request, stating the remaining rooms were booked.However, I noticed those guests only good maintened. we enjoyed the time very much and will come next year again to the meanamburi resort. you have wifi internet connection which works also at the beach or in the restaurant. there is a big dvd collection with actual movies, each room has a dvd player and tv. the staff is very friendly and helpfull. there is no swimming pool, but for what do you need a swimmingpool if the sea is 10 meters far and you can realy swimm the whole year, no stones, just simple plain perfect sand. breakfast was a little bit simple, but we did not book and pay for a 5* hotel ;-) Cu next year, Wolf and Lena"

The staff are friendly enough and the supply of dvds to watch in your room at night is great. Maenam beach is lovely & quiet too. Overall a very relaxing place to stay. I would come back here."

mark said, "The maenemburi was excellent the rooms clean and though not of a large size more than adequate.We found the beach great forrelaxing and swimming .The water deep enougth and with no rocks cutting your feet.There are a few restaurants along the beach our favourite being chokdee next to the bungalows.This resort is for people who want a chilled out time not much to do but relax eat and drink."

Jeremy said, "We were delighted with our stay (9 days) at the Maenamburi Resort. This is a small resort on a quiet part of Samui. Everything was as shown in the pictures online. The bungalow was lovely, with a comfortable bed and nice cotton sheets, it was very clean and new with nice fittings. Staff at the resort were very friendly and helpful, they made us feel welcome. Maenam beach is very peaceful and quiet, ideal for couples and families with young children, and everyone who wishes to avoid the overdeveloped and crowded beaches of Lamai and Chaweng. The beach is nice, swimming is very pleasant. I would definitely recommend this resort !"
