Ran said, "Fantastic. Good location, cleaning facility, friendly staff, I will stay here if I return to Samui again."
David said, "What a great place to stay! I booked a seaview room, it was a very clean, large balcony, quiet area, right next to the sea! Exactly what I wanted. The staff were genuinely friendly, the hotel mopeds were very cheap, and the food if you decide to eat here, is very good.An excellent choice."
Nicholas said, "I found Lamai Inn 99 to be an absolutely first class choice for the middle range accommodation option. I had a small self contained bungalow which was spotlessly clean and kept that way every day. 40 metres to the beach and 2 minutes walk to all the action in the heart of Lamai. Yet it s tucked away and as such, very quiet at night. The management were extremely helpful at all times and prices for jeeps and bikes were on the money. I would recommend it unhesitatingly and will stay there again. Nick, Melbourne Australia."
anthony said, "Great Hotel for the money .No complaints at all ."
gerald said, "The hotel was very reasonably priced, clean rooms and close to beach and a short walk to the main street and bars.would definatley go again."
Gareth said, "As always the Lamai Inn is perfect place to stay. Excellent value for money."
Wieking said, "perfect, Thank you very much"
Peter said, "Everything was ok, booked a garden bungalow, although not large, its nice. One complain, at the departure day, they did not accept my amex credit card, by reservation for deposit, it was accept.Peter"
Fred said, "I booked a room with lamai inn over the net because the pictures, prices, and reviews seemed great. Upon arriving though I was somewhat upset.. when booking there was an option for an extra bed; to therefore sleep 3 people. But infact the rooms were to small to put in an extra bed comfortably (big main bed) so i had to sleep on a matress on the floor. Now i blame this on sawadee, or mayb the resort, as there should be no option for an extra bed or triple room.. there is no room!! The counter staff werent the nicest in making my stay comfotable, I think they should have offered the extra bed at a lower cost...since it was a matress on the floor.. but declined the notion. After searching around lamai for a triple room and doing the pricing, we just decided to stay at lamai inn and get 2 rooms, as the benefits outweighed the little cost.We ard rooms to the left side of the resort and they were very nice, and somewhat new. Huge king bed, clean, stocked minibar, etc. nicer than the string on the right side. The beach in front was kept clean and nice, had to use the beach chairs at the rest. next door though as none were supplied; but this was no bother as you only had to buy a drink and the staff there were very nice and cute. The difference between lamai and Chaw. beaches is that lamai gets deep right away, and the other you have to walk a ways to get depth. Chaw is better scenic wise, and busier. Depends what you like.. i seen many jellyfish in Chaw as well; to note.Try the snorkelling by grandfather rock, not bad if u can find clear waters, especially in the crevises around the rock (but be careful of the crustations u dont cut yourself)"
Laila said, "Lamai Inn is in a fabulous position on the best beach in samui! Our room was basic but quickly became our home over the 8 days we called it home. The hotel restaurant is nice food and good prices and the staff are all friendly and accomodating. Would recommend staying here if you are money concious as it is a good budget find."
Neil said, "A good hotel nicley located only 5 mins walk to the middle of Lamai but far enough away not to hear any noise. I wanted a sea view room but they only had a pool view which was a shame as the sea view rooms where right on the beach. Pool area could do with being bigger but still nice. The staff all seamed nice and friendly."
Benjamin said, "excellent clean hotel, right on Lamai beach, professional & courteous staff, would stay there again."
Philip said, "A great little hotel on the beech in a great location. Friendly staff and a clean simple room, with good A/C and shower. Also good selection of TV for when those rainy days come along. Would go back again..."
Pascual said, "good"
SHAKEYEVA said, "Very good hotel, very quiet, nobody annoyed others, very clean. But pool is working only till 10.00 pm. The garden view and see view rooms (bungalaws) are more sympatique."
Dennis said, "Great mid-range beach hotel with rooms and bungalows. Great service and helpful staff. Convenient walking to local nite life in Lamai and central beach location. Would stay again."
Guenther said, "very good hotel with very friendly stuff,we had 2 garden rooms for 1200 bath each, the rooms were really clean and had aircondition and a refrigigatorthe rooms were made daily and we got new towels every day.the hotel is located near the beach and only walk by 3 minutes to the center of lamai with a lot of restaurants; when we stay again in lamai, we would take the same rooms one more time!"
bryon said, "i found the staff delightful and very helpful, the rooms were clean and very comfortable, quiet n so close to the beach which was clean and inviting, i will be staying there again when i return to koh samui"
Greg said, " my wife and i sharing with our young daughter in the other. This resort is certainly one of the cleanest and best maintained we have ever just far enough away from the main street so that it is not too noisy, although there is still an audible beat of the music in the bars going most of the night but it didn t cause us to lose any sleep.Very handy to restaurants and street vendors for food, drink etc. Would definitly stay again."
HO said, "it was a pleasant experience overall as the room was clean. Location wise it was ideal as its sandwiched btw the beach and main street which was a decent distance to walk to. Only grouse is that the nearby pub was playing hard thumping music through the night which makes sleeping difficult. In-house massage was excellent! Much better than those outside on the streets and at the same price. I would return to Lamai Inn again during my next visit."
Fankhauser said, "Very good location. Nice rooms. Will come back!"
mark said, "Lovely hotel in a great location with freindly staff. We had a pool view room which was cleaned everyday. Enjoyed breakfast right next to the beach everday at the hotel restaurant. Also a nice pool area. One slight draw back was the noise from a nearby nightclub, but I think all the hotels in lamai could say the same. A friend of ours could not hear the noise."
Mike said, "The stay was excellent. Upgraded rooms are nice and having a pool is nice. Would stay at Lamaii Inn 99 again!"
Reinhold said, "Beautiful place. Booked a poolview-room. Very good value for this price. Friendly and helpful staff, especially the housekeeping people. Will definitely come again."
Japie said, "We have no complaints about Lamai Inn 99. We our rooms were clean and serviced every day. We enjoyed our stay and will return to Lamai Inn 99 when we visit Koh Samui in future."
Jeffrey said, "Nice garden view room but the walls are thin so could hear other people on both sides of my room. Great location in middle of Lamai Beach which was a stone s throw from the beach. They do have a couple beachfront bungalows that were booked at the time. Good beachside restaurant with good/friendly service. Watch out for mosquitos, killed 15 of them in the room. Otherwise great place."
Sam said, "One of the best places we awesome location! On the beach, and right in the centre of Lamai. Night life, food, drinks, all within walking distance! Be back for sure!"
David said, "Nice room, clean and fairly new. Resort is right on the beach, with the pool set back amongst too many bungalows. This was the only hotel we have shampoo - at this price you would expect such amenities. Reception staff were not friendly."
Tan said, "I had a room facing the pool for 3 nights. The boom from music from pubs nearby can be irritating. However, the room was extremely clean and the staff very friendly in particular the male assistant at the reception counter. He had been most helpful and efficient, arriving earlier than the 7.30 am opening hour, enabling my family to get to the bus station earlier. He promptly changed my my motorcycle when I brought to his notice of the the bald tyres."
Goran said, "We we really enjoyed it. It s perfect if you are travelling with kids like we did. As long as prices stay the same we would go back."
Ralf said, "Die Bungalows für 900 Baht abseits des Pools sind super. Ziemlich neu, der Boden gekachelt, ruhig gelegen. Die günstigeren Bungalows wirken eher dunkel und ungemütlich."
Stephan said, "Short: I would stay there again.Nice hotel located in the center of lamai beach. Room with hot water (produced by clean solar energy), television, fridge and in-room safe (large enough for a small notebook). Swimming pool is available, bring your own towels. Breakfast is not included, there are better restaurants in town than the hotel one.Watch for hotel-pickup at the airport."
Tim said, "Very nice hotel, close to central Lamai.. Beach front rooms not worth the extra until redeveloped.... Did book one, but moved to the pool view room.. new block and much better!!"
Jeffrey said, "I was pleasantly surprised when i saw the hotel and bungalows. I was a bit worried about the low price, but the facilities are very modern and clean. The location is great, literally steps from the beach. There are some good bars nearby, and lots of restaraunts to choose from. I ll definitely stay at Lamai Inn 99 on my next visit to Samui. Just remember to take your own minibus for 150 baht. The hotel and booking service charge 400 baht. And be careful if you decide to rent a motorbike, the autos will not yield to you."
PHIL said, "Service very good, rooms & pool good with new resturant, have en."
Peter said, "2nd stay here. good clean accomodation, great location and friendly helpfull staff."
Einfach perfekt!"
Peter said, "it was my third times in lamai inn 99.As always everthing was perfect and all employees very helpfulvery frendly. That way I ll come again next year."
Maurizio said, "Good value for money but not for people looking to a relaxed time on the beach. Good location in the Lamai center, no wifi, no phone on rooms, some English TV channels (one movie channel) but signal and channel varies from room to room. Generally noisy, rooms on the left side have disco background until 4am, on the right there is the parking lot and the road from the bungalow and the beach. I suggest spending 100B more for the pool view rooms, the best or the one on new building. There is also a construction work for another hotel just behind Inn 99, so for some months day noise is normal. Staff friendly but with poor English. Hot water is solar heated so it will be warm if too much rain. No beach facility, not even the space under trees, always occupied by vendors of chicken or thai families, very annoying."
Pete said, "This was the worst chalet I have had during my many stays. The mattress was rock hard. The shower did not work properly.Impossible to stop mosquitos getting in to the room via drain holes in bathroom. Noisey building work 10 yards from room. Daily cleaning of room was well below standard."
Oehler said, "New building is very nice and clean. Good AC, good bed. For 1000 bath a night really a good offer in Samui. Friendly staff. Will stay there again."
Neil said, "Location is great. Room is good. In house massage is the best. Reception staff is surly."
Rostyslav said, "Very good hotel under very reasonable price. As we arrived in the very evening, check-in counter was alsready closed, but we have been met by hotel staff who accompanied us to our room. It seems that we were upgraded to bungalow though we have paid for standard room only (I understand it is in the building next to swimming pool). Large double bed, TV with wide choice of channels, good DVD-movies on the first channel. Very good hotel, I would recommend it."
Thomas said, " so off the other bungalows. Quite nice place. Calm and quiet although it´s just a 3min walks in the centre of lamai where you can have the night-life and so on. Room was cleaned evary day. Friendly staff. Beach is nice. Would return there!"
R.P said, "Room was very basic.I would not stay here again simply because for a few extra pounds a night you can get better quality and comfort.I think its worth doing that.Location was the only good thing.very close to the restaurants/shopping/beach.There is a 200 yard walk to the main street and at night it can get pretty scary as its pitch black. One tip,try the pancakes from the guy on the main street they are divine."
Marta said, "Hotel itself was very much what we expected, with the beach being ten times better than expected !we wanted a beach bungalow but they were not available at time we needed, so ended up in garden bungalow with fan. it had all we needed, and for 500baht per night we got what we paid for. nice clean, cleadned... sometimes every 3 days sometimes daily :-) garden bungalows are really ok! beach bungalows are in fact 3 rooms in onle concrete building, divided from the beach by a concrete ramp with tables on it, and a wooden barier, so not really on the beach. when we saw it after arriving we were happy that we had a garden one, as this would have been a disappointment. though there are more beach bungalows (ones you see on web site described as AC bungalow) very close to beach and very nice, but you can t (or at the time couldn t) rent. they stood empty all the time we were in Lamai (and we y bottom and couple meters from the beach already deep enough for a good swim. wins with Chaweng beach in all cathegories ! narby there are 3 good fresh seafood restaurant righ on the beach, place where you can rent windsurfing or waterjet. but it s not so popular at Lamai Beach so people rather treat them as attraction than see it all the time (on Chaweng waterjets don t stop, make lots of noise and if you don t want to risk getting run over when swimming you must stick to swimming areas with water chest deep...)our stay in Lamai Inn would have been perfect if not the last day s event. We had money +cameras + passports put into safe deposit which turned out to be biggest mistake, as the envelope with 300GBP in it disappeared from the deposit on last night. we took some money out to change and the enveloope was placed back together with our passports into a camera bag and into the deposit box. next morning it wasn t there. it was stupid of us not to write down what we put in and have it signed by receptionist, as deposit s only keys were hold by reception (you don t get your own key nor have double locks there!!) we briefly checked the bag when taking it out - cameras were there and so was pouch with passports so wouldn t have guessed that envelope that was put in there previous night would not be there... ok, I now now I am a bit naive. we only realised when placing the bag in safe deposit in hotel in Koh Tao... much too late to try to explain it with Lamai 99 staff and call police. So surely go for that place, as it IS the best place to stay along Lamai Beach, but be carefull of what you do with deposits, when dealing with money - don t do it there so Thai people don t see what you have there, take it over to your room, even though the receptionist seem a bit annoyed every time you ask them to open the deposit for you.just a practical tip - it s better not to arange a transfer via swadee as then you pay 200 baht per person. if you take a minibus from airport it costs only 150 per person to Lamai beach, so believe it s even chapper if you travel to Chaweng."
Jane said, "hotel very basic had pool view room but others in party had to change due to ant infestation in one and noise from building site in another but that was not the hotels fault and they were very accommodating as one room was swapped at three in the morning.would probably not stay here again even though staff were great as too basic for me but for the price it was ok even though we may have paid the same at resort further out of lamai recommended for younger people who dont want to walk too far home from the bars"
Peter said, "This was my 3rd visit to lamai but first stay at lamai 99. I was generally impressed the accomodation (pool side room) was the equal to other more expensive hotels in the area. a stones throw from the beach and very central location. My only negative comment is that the bass from the nearest disco/club could be felt to 4am butif you are looking for a central location, clean value for money accomodation then you won t be dissapointed."
