The rooms were really clean but the beds were really hard. The staff were really helpful and the free breakfast was excellent! Overall a great hotel for the price paid!"

A little bit outside Chaweng center, just a short ride, 1-2 min with taxi.Big deluxerooms with very good cleaning. Great breakfast and very nice staff."

Can also recomend a little Thai restuarant on left side on beach. he can make a fish barbecu in evening if you order 1 day before.If you like shopping and bars you may book clooser to city town. We have a great holiday and rooms its great.Breakfast is ok and stabs is very friendley. Little problem is that they not can much english. I will come back. It was exactly as described on this website.The hotel is clean, great breakfast in the morning, good food for lunch & dinner, wide spectrum of food to select from, provides chairs and umbrellas on the beach. The beach hut bar was key for end of the day beers and sunsets and the beach side massages are worth it. Nothing like watching the waves come in as you get massaged. The staff doesn t speak great English (why would they) but good enough to help me along. They really impressed me my last day. I slept through my wakeup call and the front desk guy came to my room, woke me up, checked me out, and held my taxi so I could make my flight.You could walk to the center of Cha Wang but for 50 bat you can get a taxi or tuk tuk into town.I would return and recommend to people looking for a cheap hotel. FYI, I was traveling solo and still met people to hang and drink with."

Karina said, "Location is far from the center and buzz. Main building provides good deluxe rooms (good for 3-star hotel I d say) Some very beautiful inner yard with pool. The beach is good, and it is less then 5min from the main building. Personnel are extremely kind and helpful (although their English could be better) Restaurant food is delicious although not very cheap. I’d recommend to eat at the hotel ‘cause once we had dinner in the center of Chaweng at some sidewalk restaurant and got poisoned badly after that. So watch out! Anyways staying at hotel was a good thing to remember. I’d recommend staying in deluxe rooms on this hotel."

Ulrika said, "The hotel is located near a small beach and have a few free sun beds for hotel guests. Otherwise the location is quite far from the main area of Chaweng, about 15-25 minutes walk. The hotel looks much better on the site than it actually was. The standard rooms are normal size but with very small bathrooms and NO balcony or safety box in room for the standard rooms. Please be aware that the bed is very very hard!!! Standard rooms are all located in another building near the main building shown on the pictures. There is a small gym located in the same building, only 150 baht for 1 hour. Breafast was ok and the pool area as well ( only a few sun beds though)If no pool is needed for your stay I would instead of paying 1400-1600 baht per night for this room, recommend the Colibri guesthouse (street, Soi Colibri) with balcony, big and clean rooms and soft nice beds for only 700 baht per night. However then breakfast is not included but its closer to main beach and shopping."

Philip said, "I hopping. I had read positive reviews of the hotel, and indeed it was well worth the money we paid for this hotel. The room was clean, although no elevators. But what made our stay most enjoyable was the staff. They were terrific and very sweet. Made us feel at home. Also nice pool and adjoining beach. I recommend this hotel to anyone."

Chirag said, "I had booked a standard room & none of the standard room is facing the beach. I think they should clarrify this in their sites which only talk abt that the hotel is on the beach. Also the staff is not at all co operative because we had to check out early in the morning & they ended up giving a breakfast box with just 2 pcs of bread. But when they refused to adjust the breakfast the day I checked in. The Aircon in my room leaks every morning as soon as you shut down. They made us wait for 1 hr in the reception because we reached there at 8 am since we were travelling in bus."

Loction wasn t too bad but the walk into the centre of town was a bit dark at night. All in all it was a very good hotel and would definitely stay here again."

Wayne said, "i 2 daughters, the room was the family accomidation and suited us vary well. the staff were excellent and freindly, breakfast was also a good variety. the beach is about 50 metres from the hotel and is is most probaly to best beach on Samui. the hotel is about 15min walk to the main drag but i reccomend no matter were you stay in samui to get a motor bike, scooter. we hired 2 for the time that we dinked our kids (6 and 8) every were also going around the entire island, it is the best way to get around and no haggling for taxi or tuk tuk. all in all i would recomend Samui first house as a place to stay. well priced and located not to far from the busy main street at chewang but far enough that you can have peicefull stay."

Jochen said, "Looking at several other beach bungalow resorts at Chaweng Beach, we were very happy to be in First House hotel. It is clean, quiet, relaxed and comfortable. Walking distance on the beach to edge of town about 15 min, to center about 20 - 30 min (McDonalds, Starbucks!). We had 1 Deluxe Room (2 adults, 2 children - one on infl. mattress on the floor) and 1 Standard room. The Deluxe room was spacy and clean (apart from the unavoidable cockroaches that occasionally find their way into the room - but you ll have them anywhere in this climate, even with 5 stars). Standard room clean but small and quite basic (e.g. just one large towel/person). Both rooms had slightly noisy aircons, but we got used to it. Very clean 20m pool, much larger than in most beach resorts. Unlimited free beach/pool towels. Fairly nice breakfast buffet (7 - 10 a.m.). Restaurant not that great. (Dining tip: Sans Soucci resort, about 10 min up Chaweng main beach. Good, reasonable and flexible for extra wishes.) 3 PCs at reception area with slow internet for about 10 Bht/min. Small play area for toddlers.Beach: main Chaweng beach starts 3 min from hotel: nice and quite clean, but a bit bland to us. Separated by a small, slightly smelly river, there is Chaweng South beach, only 1 min from hotel over a small bridge: as nice as main beach, but a bit smaller and secluded feeling, a large collection of rocks on one side for fishing and climbing for older kids - very nice! Both beaches have very shallow, secure water for swimming, ideal for small kids. Many fish around the rocks you can watch from knee depth. Both beaches lack shade (South beach is better) but there are umbrellas to hide under. For my family this was the nicest beach we have seen so far, and a very pleasant hotel to complete the experience - highly recommended. Last tip: don t snorkel of dive near Samui. Very poor visibility! A trip to Koh Tao is really worthwhile."

Only point is there is a dirty creek behind the hotel that goes directly into the ocean. Worth a small walk up the beach or a trip to lamai. Nice beaches. Hotel recommended!"

A short walk to the main shopping area and the hotel has some place you can rent car/motor bike if needed. They do need to work on there English. Also they have a vehicle to take you to the airport but it is a cost to you. I think when I stay at a hotel and book for 5 days that should include round trip to the airport, not one way."

Fredrik said, "hotellet ligger rätt långt från city, ca 200 bath med tuk tuk, mellan poolen och havet går avloppsbäcken till havet. luktar inte alltid så gott. ingen fara när man är på hotellet. bara när man ska gå till stranden. frukosten är bra men mer inriktad på amerikansk stil än kontinental. hotellet hade en dålig service på stranden fick säga till i receptionen när man ville ha ett parasoll. dåligt! bra snorkling precis på stranden, bättre än snorklingsturen till marina nationalparken. bygget som det står om ÄR störande om man bor i sidobyggnaden. trevlig personal som städar och de som står i receptionen."

We ordered a standart room which is not located in a main building but it is very close.The pool is clean.The room was was medium size, clean, with TV, minibar,A/C we even had an umbrella. The bathroom is small, but clean.One day the toilet was flooded and they fixed it in 10 min. after we told them.Just so you know, you need to walk about 10 min just to get to starting point from which the shops start ."

Phil said, "For the price we paid this Hotel was really good value as long as your not expecting the 5 star facilities, but it had everything we wanted for a great relaxing holiday. I was surprised how close we were to the beach and it s a really nice beach too. Our room even had a bit of a sea view over the trees!By coincidence when we arrived we were thinking that the place could do with a lick of paint, but the painters turned up the next day and after a couple of days the place was looking so much better. The breakfast was very good. The service at the reception and in the restaurants was great, handy little internet shop downstairs. The pool is clean and sparkling, the rooms were cleaned and serviced daily by friendly smiling maids. Sawad-dee khrap girls! Although you see a couple of small lizards scuttling about place at night we never saw any bugs in the rooms or restaurants.The only complaint I had for the whole stay was that on the website it says that all the rooms have a security safe but when we checked in there is only a safe at the reception, although when I mentioned this to the staff I did receive an apology. But there was no problem with keeping our valuables at the reception safe. All in all it was a a good stay and a good time was had by all."

David said, "The hotel was better than I expected. The staff were very helpful and polite. The rooms were excellent. My daughter and son in law they thought it was brilliant. My two eldest grandchildren, aged 7 and 9 loved the pool. The beach was very close and was, in my view, the best in the area. We all spent quite a bit of time snorkeling round the rocks. Although the hotel was quite a way from the centre this was easily reached by taxis at a reasonable price. The only criticism I would make is that the beach furniture was in need of repair or renewal. If the hotel had been full there might not have been enough to go round.All in all though it was very good value for money and I would recommend it to anyone."

Rudolf said, "It was our first visit at Samui First House Hotel and we booked a standard room. When we arrived our room we were a little disappointed at first. In the internet only pictures of the main building (boat-shaped building) are shown. That is why we thought our room is located inside the main building. But in fact the standard rooms are located inside an adjoining building. Inside the main building there are only deluxe and family rooms. Anyway, the standard rooms are sufficient even though the bathrooms are very small. The room service is good.The beach is very nice located at Chaweng Noi Beach. It is quiet, clean and great for relaxing. Sun beds, sunshades and beach towels are free of charge.Breakfast is ok but could be improved by a wider variety of foods.Altogether Samui First House Hotel is nice, clean with friendly and helpful staff. We recommend this hotel to everybody who wants to spend a great time on Samui Island aside from the bustling night life but still close to the center of Chaweng Beach.We will definitely stay there again during our next trip to Samui Island."

Teo said, "we always feel kind of home at the samui first house hotel, even though this year we could not be that satisfied when we compare all of it to the other luxury hotels for the same price (or even cheaper) during our three week trip in Thailand. Great difference in comfort, choice of food, accommodation (old towels, airco smells badly, poor decorated en furnished). But.....quiet beach, friendly front desk staff, great space to sit and see the sunset; a place to come back again."

Christine said, "This hotel was really nice. We had a grand deluxe room on the second floor, it was very spacious and clean. The hotel staff were very friendly although their english could have been a little better. The beach was a short walk away (couple of minutes). Very nice beach, although not enough unbrella s to go around. If you are not comfortable with venors constantely bugging you to buy! buy! buy! then you may not enjoy the beach the pool may be the place for you. The hotel location was good, easy to get taxi s and right next to a mini mart, internet place and various massage parlors. My only complaint is that there were a lot, and I mean a lot of very tiny ants in the room. During every night we my husband we bitten in our sleep by some insect, I can only assume it was these ants. In my case the bites warrented a trip to the local hospital, which was awesome to say the least. When we go back to Samui, I would stay at First House again, but the next time I will stay somewhere different just to experience a different area of Chaweng Beach."

Nicole said, "Hotel is very nice with its pool surrounded by flowertrees. very romantic. beach is very close from the hotel a 5 minute walk trough pretty little bungalow-village which also belongs to the hotel. staff is very friendly and helpful and efficient. ones when we came back from the beach the airconditioner was leaping. after i made a call to the operator, it was fixed within a short time without any problems. cleaning staff are also very nice and waitet every day infront of the door for us to go out so they could clean the room. room was nice and clean, just the bathroom needs a new face. but what can you expect for the really good price. i ve seen rooms double the price and in worse conditions. breakfast was exellent with a buffet of various food choices and a person cooking fresh omlettes and eggs right in front of you. I m definetley going back to the same hotel, maybe next time I d chose a bungalow. a bit more expensive but so cozy and beautyful as I saw."
