Frederik stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2008-03-19 and said, "We had a wonderfull time at the Chrystal Bay Resort. The Staff was very nice, friendly and really really helpfull (the Owner drove us to the Airport at 4:00 am). The Food in the Restaurant was tasty and not to expensive. The Beach was one of the nicesest we had in all Thailand !! The Room was good and got cleaned every day. I would definetly go back there when i have the money, and recommend this place to everybody who just want to chill some days. if you want to Party you have to get a taxi or something."
Antonio stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2008-03-03 and said, "Lovely hotel(good food) and a very nice beach, i can recommend room nr G1."
Jana stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2008-02-16 and said, "im so sorry to tell this but its bitter true. our stay in this hotel must be interrupted cause we was really displeased about the accomodation. it was not clean at all, furniture was old and everywhere were ants! horrible experience!!!! i do not dispute about comfort in expensive rooms but the true is that standard rooms i cannot recommend to anyone!!!!!!! but very nice seems to be nearby silver resort and yacht club resort. and about the sea... not so good cause of rocks in the water.. beach worth seeing but long stay here i do not recommend.. per contra i can heartily recommend you lamai beach. its really very very nice.. beach is not that fairy-tales style but there are no rocks and you can enjoy it :) the best resort i can recommend you in LAMAI INN 99. super location nearby the lamai beach and also close to center. very very very clean rooms lovely furnished and stuff is perfect too."
Patrizia stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2008-02-11 and said, "Excellent location and seaside: very few tourists and a small clean beach between noisy Chaweg and Lamai, with lots of nice restaurants that you can enjoy at lunchtime. You can also enjoy massages on the actual beach. We stayed in the resort 3 nights in what was supposed to be the best room in the hotel, seaside front villa overlooking the sea. The room was very expensive, 3000 baht per night. Upon arrival we realised that the room had probably not been used for a long time and was full of small insects, also because it was located amongst palm trees. From the bathroom -which was design-like with all pebbles around the shower- there came ants too. So next morning we commented with the hotel manager that we wished the room to be cleaned otherwise we would have left. So they did but honestly the room should have been prepared and cleaned before the arrival of the guests and not upon their request! We felt that although the location was excellent, the resort is overpriced, at least for the kind of room we booked. Also: the resort reception is open only from 8am to 10pm and then there is none at the front desk to take care of the customers needing help. It is true that the managers live inhouse so should you need help during the night you have actually to ring their house bell! In our room we had no phone in case of emergency or should we need something during the night. Breakfast had a choice of continental, American and Asian food and we did not pay for it because it was included but in the morning they would should you the breakfast pricelist. I have not understood why. All in all I must admit that the the manager was quite helpful though in telling us what was best to do on the island and there is also a motorbike renting service from the resort itself. From other customers we learnt that with the same view at a cheaper price you could get good rooms. So probably we woulkd stay there again but we would recommend to go for a cheaper room. The rest of the staff was very kind and helpful and if you wanted you could enjoy a drink or meal on the terrace overlooking the sea.If you don t want to use the expensive taxis you can reach the resort by sangthouw (shared vans) for about 60 baht from the city harbour located west of the island."
Dalius stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2008-02-10 and said, "Very nice location on the beach. If you are loooking for a quite holiday that is a right place. The owners and all staff are very polite and helpful. I would reccomend it for my friends and would stay next time again."
Foehr stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2008-02-04 and said, "schön gelegenes hotel, gutes essen und auch der service stimmt. preis leistung jedenfalls gut.leider viel zu viele kakerlaken in den zimmern."
Michael stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2008-01-31 and said, "The resort location was just picturesque. Not too far from Chaweng and Lamai, but far enough away to be peaceful, restful & romantic. Service was perfect. Not too intrusive, but just helpful enough. Definitely coming back here!"
Anna+Slava, stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2008-01-19 and said, "We stayed at the Crystal for 8 nights and dont regreat. Location is perfect - the most beautiful beach on the island. You can rent motobike, buy sightseing tours right in the hotel and prises are good. We had deluxe panoramic - really perfect view right from the bed!!! Managers of hotel and other staff are very friendly, helpful and pleasant people. Restaurant right at the sea has perfect dishes - coconut soup was our favourite! :) Really wish to come back to have that soup again! :)"
Wendy stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2007-12-31 and said, "This hotel really is very nice. We stayed in the deluxe panorama room and what a beautiful room it was. Very nicely done out, spacious with a lovely unusual shower area. The view from the bed was spectacular. Staff were friendly and helpful. We loved the little bay that it is situated in away from the commercialisation of Lamai & Chaweng but at the same time very central. Although there is no pool, there is a beautiful palm fringed bay."
Natalie stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2007-12-31 and said, "Crystal Bay Resort is set on a lovely beach which is much quieter than Chawaeng. The food was cheap and tasty especially the breakfast. The rooms were lovely and the service was v good. The beach is much nicer than any of the other beaches we went to during our stay on Ko Samui. It is easy to get to by taxi and had the weather been better, we would have stayed longer. Snorkelling was just okay, like anywhere else on Ko Samui. But if snorkelling is your thing, go to Phi Phi where you can snorkel the Marine Park which is better than any of the snorkel points we went to off Ko Tao and Ko Pha ngan."
John stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2007-12-28 and said, "very nice hotel, staff were very helpful, would recomend this to our friends."
John stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2007-12-28 and said, "good hotel on next to the beach.accomodation clean and tidy.nice views over the sea.breakfast was great ,you were fed very well.evening meals were excellent too i would recomend the broth soup .This hotel was recommended to me by a friend of my wifes and did not fall short of expectation.Staff wre very friendly and helpful.Would defintely recommend this to others."
Natasha stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2007-12-26 and said, "The beach is amazing, perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Chewang. Cost to chewang in a truck is about 50 Baht per person into chewang and 100 baht per person back from Chewang. Cheaper to rent a scooter.Food was good, breakfast is great, order what ever you want, the girls in the restuarant are fantastic. Rooms, simple but very clean, spacios and tidy (we had a Delux beachfront view)"
Simone stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2007-08-22 and said, "The hotel is really very very good: it s my 2 time in Crystal Bay: this lovely resort!!The room in the deluxe room that we booked was large, clean and beautiful. The view from our window was very beautiful The stuff were friendly, polite and helpful. The service was excellent! The beach is near the resort with rocks and palms, sea and sand looks fantastic! L hotel è veramente carino: è la seconda volta che vengo qui: è troppo bello !La camera da me prenotata ( deluxe ) è grande e pulita, veramente bella. La vista dalla finestra è fantastica !! Lo staff è amichevole, disponibile per tutto: servizio veramente eccellente.La spiaggia è vicinissima, con sabbia bianca, roccie e palme: stupenda !"
Sergey stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2007-04-07 and said, "Excellent location for those who value or need a relaxed week or two in a secluded bay. We had a relaxing time in Crystal Bay resort. Everybody in the family who runs the place was very helpful, friendly and accommodating. The room was big and clean (beach bungalow) and service was great. Breakfast was good and we appreciated the choice of Thai or continental or American options. There are three restaurants by the beach with very reasonable prices and good food. Lamai with more bars and restaurants is also a short bike or taxi ride away. Definitely recommended."
Cedric stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2007-02-17 and said, "We arrived at the hotel a bit late because our plane was delayed (11:30pm), and there were no one at the reception. We tried to find someone but the hotel seemed empty. We had to find another hotel with free rooms in the middle of the night. We ended up at Samui Yacht Club, which is 100m down the road and very good price/quality."
Rachael stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2006-12-27 and said, "We arrived at the hotel to find our room to be full of flies. (This probably to do with the high tides the previous week). When I asked if the room could be cleaned they replied the flies wouldn t bite, and they would maybe clean the room the next day. This was enough for me!! The room was a seaview room (this being the only good factor). We decided to loose our deposit and return to stay at the Waterfront hotel in Bohput (of which we can recommend). First impressions count for us unfortunately The Crystal Bay hotel was not meant to be !!"
Wolfgang stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2006-12-13 and said, "Nice, small hotel with bedrooms from normal up to highest quality. The upper rooms have a beautiful view over the small but nice beach. Food is ok, we can recommend the breakfast. Perfect site lying between the overcrowded Chaweng beach and the new red destrict of Lamai (especially in the evening). On Koh Samui one of the better bungalows!"
Torsten stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2006-10-18 and said, "Good Hotel in a nice bay with a beautiful beach. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I think, when we travel to Samui again, we will come back."
Andrew stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2006-10-01 and said, "WOW!! What a room...Room G1 (deluxe with panoramic view) with a massive balcony and stunning views. The room is big, very clean and comfortable. I real pleasure to stay here. I will definatly stay here again"
sainthilaire stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2006-09-05 and said, "10 9 2006we are still thereleaving monday 3 days more than expectedrooms ok (panoramic)one problem though at low tide there are no easy way to swim as the sea is full of dead corals and acces is difficultrestaurant so sogeneraly friendly"
Allison stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2006-07-26 and said, "We had a wonderful time. The service was excellent and the hotel owners very very helpful and supportive. The food is out of this world. Can t wait to return."
Martynow stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2006-07-09 and said, "The hotel is realy good. The view from our window was stunning! The room in the beachfront bungalow that we booked was large, clean and beautiful! The stuff were friendly, polite and helpful. The service was exellent! We were realy pleasend. But there is one disadvantage only.In the night we had to hear the traffic noise. Also by breakfast in the restaurant was quite noisy. That s why the hotel is located near the road. And a few words about the beach. It s thrue the beach with rocks and palms, sea and sand looks fantastic! But it s not realy suitable to swimm. You have to be careful because everywhere are the stones in water. Sonia stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2006-07-03 and said, "Crystal Bay is a great location; 5 minute sawngthaew ride south of Hat Chaweng and 2 minutes ride south to Hat Lamai; it costs about 100THB one way to Chaweng (for 2 people) - the cost is usually doubled at night. It is located right off (literally, right off!) of the main road ( ring road ); if you don t mind car noise, then a room close to the road will not matter; but if you prefer a quiet room then beachfront is the best choice. The grounds were clean as well as the water. The room was cleaned daily; the room was very basic - which is what we wanted - Thailand is too beautiful to be stuck in a lavish room! All staff was very amicable and hospitable; we stayed at 7 accomodations during our 3 week holiday in Thailand and Crystal Bay was one of the best! I truly miss the traditional Thai breafast which consisted of rice, shrimp, broth and a spice that my palate will never forget - it must be local because I ve never had the fortune of tasting it before! The man and woman that run the place (unfortunately we never got their names) are so nice and help you in any way - booking tours, best places to visit on island, what a sawngthaew should cost you into Chaweng, etc. It was a perfect distance to Chaweng, not to far, not too close. Great shopping in Chaweng - better deals and you can bargain more than you can in Bangkok! The food was always good and if you want a change Chaweng has many great alternatives. The resort is on a nice, private beach, probably shared with 2 or 3 other very small hotels. The beach is enclosed by the bay so the water was calm. Upon arrival there was construction next to our Mountain Seaview room, but we were upgraded to a Building Beachfront at no extra cost!! In front of our beach front room were the massage tables, so we didn t have to go far to be pampered! The massage ladies were always pleasant and friendly. It is also about 10 minutes from the airport! Very convenient location. The only thing that was not pleasant was the mattress - it was lumpy and uncomfortable. If we ever return to Samui (which I truly hope) we will definitely stay at Crystal Bay!"
vanessa stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2006-06-16 and said, "Thumbs up for this lovely resort!!Unlike the close Chaweng, this place is restful and relaxing.I booked a deluxe room; the view is amazing. The room was very well designed. The air conditioning is positioned in a great way, you don t have it straight in front of your bed, so you can keep it on with no problems for all the night! The room was very clean, with tiled pavement that shined!!The bathroom was also very nice, ours had a rock near the shower, that made a really nice effect! The shower worked good. The restaurant was one of the best that I ve tried in Thailand. High quality food for a really nice prices. their squid just melt into your mouth, not like some other places where it tasted (and felt) like a piece of rubber!!But all the food I had there was fingers licking!! The restaurant has a beautiful view. It s really romantic and it s very nice to stay there enjoying the freshness!!The beach is very nice too. Quite long, with soft white sand and many threes on the side of it where you can repair from the tropical sun (and enjoy a lovely massage! both massage on the beach or in the hotel were really good and with good price 300 bath on the beach, 400 on the hotel for one hour thai massage!).I suggest you to bring protective shoes because when the tide is low you have to walk a bit before you can swim. sometimes there are coral rocks hidden by the sand and they can really hurt!Strongly suggest to those that want a clean, quiet place, with a great service and food. If you want more movida Cha Weng is just five minutes away (50 bath during the day, 100 at night).I hope to come back early!!!Vanessa and Andrea, Italy"
Jimmy stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2006-05-12 and said, "Private Beach by the hotel.. not overpopulated like chaweng. First look of the hotel looks run down however we got a choice to stay at the newer wing and the deluxe room was spanking new with a big clean bathroom to boot. Personalize service for breakfast although there wasnt much choice. to go to anywhere you need a transport. Place is perfect if you looking to stay away from people and chill out at the beach. Beachfront is clean although there wasnt much to shout about."
markku stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2006-03-02 and said, "Nice small resort with bungalows and mainhouse with rooms. We stayed at house and the rooms were clean with a good AC. Shower has a little low pressure but otherwise ok with hot water. Rooms with sea view were quiet but on the other side there s a road which may be quite noisy. Staff is very friendly and helpful. There s nice terrace restaurant which is open till 10 PM. I can recommend this place if you don t expect luxury but a peaceful place to stay. Good value for money."
Carla stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2006-02-26 and said, "spiaggia carina, ma con scarichi delle fognature direttamente in mare.Personale del resort gentile e disponibile.Camere sul retro terribili, sembra di dormire in strada! (noi avevamo prenotato dei bungalow che in realtà non erano disponibili)"
Grete stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2006-01-24 and said, "We had a great stay at Crystal Bay Resort. Beautiful view from the seaview bungalows and the beach was great! Can recommend this hotel for your stay on Samui."
viviana stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2005-12-27 and said, "Absoluty unbelievable! We had a deluxe room with panoramic view and the view was incredable!!! It was the best place we stayed of Koh Samui. The food was good, service excellent and the room was unbelieveble. We had a very nice romantic stay and would recomend the panoramic view rooms. To go by taxi everytime to Chaweng was a bit expensive, but by scooter you can get there very easy and only costs 250 BHT per 24 hrs. I would definitely go back there! =)"
S. stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2005-12-27 and said, "We stayed only two nights at Crystal Bay. The hotel is fairly far from Chaweng beach and it costs about 50-100 THB to get into town. Crystal Beach has only a handful of resorts on it so it was quiet. The room was adequate with a nice view. The snorkling/swimming was terrible. It had been raining for several weeks before our arrival and therefore very murky. This made the beach unusable as it is very rocky and not appropriate for swimming. The hotel also experienced many power outages during our stay and although they only lasted a few minutes, it s not great for charging batteries! There was also a army of ants that met us every morning on the floor. Just a warning, the hotel does not take VISA (or any credit card for that matter). They don t tell you this until you are checking out and rushing for your flight. We were not told this when we checked in so we include it in our warning. I would closer to Chaweng beach next time."
Jamee stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2005-12-01 and said, "Great location - next to the beach - with ocean view rooms the best! No pool - but the beach is all you need. About a 10 min drive into town - so its best to rent a bike or car if you plan on going in - regularly. You can also wait outside the hotel for a local bus service to pass by - about evey 10 min or so - that will take you into town."
Tan stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2005-09-01 and said, "Good place to unwind with friends, this time I brought a couple friend with me to this resort. The place is finishing their renovation works for two more new rooms, noise are keep to the minimum.this is the third time I stay here this year.Still like it will like to try sea front room next time."
Rae stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2005-08-04 and said, "Great location. Especially being away from the main hussle of Lamaii and Chewang but close enough to visit for a shopping fix or a bit of night time action. My advice is go for the deluxe rooms only (great views and good amenities) Standard rooms are near road and very noisy. Great beach, rarely were there any hawkers. Most of the tourists who visit here are Euros, which as an Australian who was trying to avoid other Australians made it an added bonus. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food was also very good."
Mr stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2005-07-17 and said, "Wow what a view. we had delux panaramic view rooms (nice rooms). the best rooms on offer on the whole bay. great little hotel, good breakfast, their thai food is for falangs and quite mild not for me. they also had the best massage on the beach"
Tan stayed at Crystal Bay Resort on 2005-07-11 and said, "A very nice and simple resort with a nice location for those who wants some pace and quite after a night out in the busy side on the Island. A husband and wife team runs the show, willing to assits you in your daily request or getting an extra help you to move around the Island. Provided the are not at the most busy time of the day.But there a room there that needs to replace the mattress on the bed as it has seen better days cause now it has sink in on one side even it s a king side bed you can only make use half of it.Water pressure is low during peak hour on the Island so not so nice to shower at that time.Ohter wise it should be a cosy little place to stay. A little nose in the day due to improvement for extra room. But can still request for room not too near the work site. Was told the work be complete by August. Will stay again."
