Fiona stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2008-05-19 and said, "Absolutely gorgeous, exactly as shown on the website, a lush tropical paradise. The lead-in rooms (deluxe) have huge balconies, the perfect place for a sundowner. Staff were friendly and helpful, also managed to change my booking to add an extra day, no problem. My only negative would be for the breakfast, which was bland and uninspired, with not nearly enough of the abundant local fruit options offered."
Ilya stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2008-05-16 and said, "Fantastic hotel, friendly staff. The beach and sea are not the best in the island - due to the coral reef nearby. Bungalows are surrounded by marvelous garden, bungalow (deluxe, garden view) - superior quality, really luxury. The location is a bit remote from the Chaveng centre, but to me it is an advantage - taxi and tuk-tuk are cheap enough to get there at anytime. I would strongly recommend this hotel! And would like to come back :)"
Irene stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2008-05-16 and said, "The hotel s motive being rustic is well maintained and clean. Highly recommended for tourists who would want to stay near restaurants and night life..."
John stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2008-04-07 and said, "Very helpful staff. Beautiful grounds.Clean large rooms. Very good food in the restaurant, modestly priced and an excellent breakfast buffet."
Jann stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2008-03-20 and said, "Absolutely fantastic! A little wary as I booked online and was not sure how resort would compare to the website but it was exactly as promoted. Bungalows great size, restaurant good, quiet and beautiful beach. Staff lovely. Would not hesitate to go back."
Thomas stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2008-01-06 and said, "Definitely one of the most beautiful resorts on Samui island. Set in a wonderful lush tropical garden, guests can relax in nicely designed one- or two party villas with an individual character. The staff is perfect, service impeccable, very helpful people! The only minus is the breakfast. Not bad as such, it is a bit dull and one would want to see a little more of culinary creativity go into it. By the way, you will find the breakfast thing repeatedly mentioned at a number of forums by visitors to Coral Bay.The restaurant is fine but there are so many fine restaurants around that one should try them as well. Hire a scooter (at the reception) and do not stay at the resort all the time. There are dozens of attractive excursions, day and night, that the hotel management will help you to arrange. Try the Thail Culinary Institute for a coooking course! In total - no regret whatsoever!"
Janne stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2007-12-14 and said, "We spent 12 wonderful days at Coral Bay Resort to celebrate my birthday and christmas with our family. We were 12 people all together, from 2 to 83 years old. We cannot thank enough for the excellent and kind service we got from everybody at the resort. My husband, who is handicapped and walks with a stick, always got a helping hand when needed. The manager Peter was especially kind and gave us many good advices about trips that was good for the children and so on. The restaurant was really good and the breakfast was extraordinary. We have never stayed in such a nice and beauty ful place and I hope we will be back. I only have one small complaint. It would have been nice with a plan over the resort on the website, so we could see where the bungalows were placed."
Kate stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2007-12-12 and said, "We had the most fantastic stay at Coral Bay Resort. An absolute haven in the middle of what has now unfortunately become a very commercialised Samui. The huts were just gorgeous and had everything you could need with a luxurious holiday feel. Most especially the team at Coral Bay were so exceptionally friendly and helpful - it really makes your trip. I hope places like this don t sell out to the larger establishments that are now prevalent on this once beautiful island getaway. If you are looking for some luxury, but built into and complementing the natural attributes and surroundings - don t go past Coral Bay. And the Amata Spa is absolute HEAVEN. Thank you Coral Bay for such a brilliant stay."
Chris stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2007-11-03 and said, "I cannot praise Coral Bay Resort highly enough. The staff are so helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. This is my third time there in three years and it s wonderful to go to a place where you feel like a long lost friend but are still treated like an honoured guest. A visit to the spa leaves you floating on a cloud and my skin has never been this soft. I look forward to my next visit. Thank you for a wonderful holiday."
Alistair stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2007-10-02 and said, "Our second time back here, and the resort itself reatains most of its charm - the accomodation is excellent and the staff equally so. One major issue though...the building work on a new resort complex currently underway next door was pretty intrusive - JCBs and heavy trucks working on the beach can t be anything but intrusive, and the current works have cut the beach off making it all but impossible to walk along the beach to the main area of Chaweng beach. It also made the walk along the road in the evening somewhat more dangerous, with heavy trucks charging around, as the workers appeared to be working on the site until midnight and beyond. Add to this the current works that the hotel is undertaking to demolish and replace it s own beach bar and a certain amount of the tranquility is most definitely lost. This didn t ruin our break - in fact we would certainly return - but not without checking first with Coral Bay that the works had been completed....the signs indicated an opening date for the next door resort of December 2007, but it looked a lot further away from completion than that."
Jim stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2007-09-19 and said, "Coral Bay Resort is located on the Northern, secluded end of Chaweng Beach. We liked being in a quieter area, but within a short taxi ride of all the great restaurants in Chaweng (Recommend Eat Sense and Zico s - a fabulous Brazilian Barbecue). The Resort has a great restaurant with a wide selection and good breakfast buffet. The Pool is not large, but there is a shallow children s section. The Resort is on a secluded bay with a beautiful view. There is coral in the water that makes it a little difficult to wade at times, but the water is so clear that it was not hard to walk around the coral and out to the nice sandbar - around the sandbar the sand was very soft and water very shallow for quite a ways, perfect for our two year old to run around and splash. Plenty of beach chairs. We stayed in the Deluxe Family Bungalow with my wife s parents in one room and us in the other. We really liked our rooms, very spacious (even with our son s portable crib), and the bathrooms were spacious as well. The staff, especially the manager (Peter), were very friendly and helpful. Would also like to mention that directly across from the entrance to the resort is O.A. Travel - we used them for all our taxi, laundry, touring needs and they were fantastic and cheaper. Just got their card and called their cell phone if we needed a ride into or out of town. Very convenient. Also, this resort is next door to the Nora resort, whose restaurant is also quite good and convenient to walk to. Lastly, there was construction next door to Coral Bay while we were there, but it did not disturb us at all."
Mary stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2007-03-18 and said, "as always i was overjoyed to be back at the quiet private spacious and comfort of coral bay resort where i found everyone helpful friendly and warm...coral bay has easy 3 minute access to the bustling chaweng beach but feels like a little luxury in a remote island paradise...oh it is....highly recommend if u love thai bungalows and beautiful gardens...mary bruce"
Keri stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2007-02-15 and said, "Beautiful resort, very quiet and relaxing. Bungalows were fantastic and the gardens surrounding the property were amazing. Easy to rent a scooter or catch a cab to take you into Chaweng, if you so desire."
Mrs. stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2006-09-09 and said, "My friend & I had the most relaxing time at Coral Bay Resort. We were well looked after by the friendly staff and had our every request catered for but were still left alone to enjoy whatever we wanted to do. The facilites are great & the bungalows are spacious & clean with wonderful verandahs just made for cocktails at sunset. I came away feeling very relaxed and refreshed."
Jo stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2006-08-16 and said, "Lovely resort away from the bustle of Chaweng Beach ,never felt busy,(although whether new rooms being built will change this)with beautiful gardens. We had the family delux bungalow 1and 2 which were right at the front of the resort looking on the fantastic bay.The sand was not as good as Chaweng but we spent more time round great pool. The restaurant was not great and service was rather slow at breakfast but they are the only negatives. We had a lovely 4 days there and would recommend it as a resort for those wanting a quite but beautiful place to relax."
Jochen stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2006-08-15 and said, "we had a absolutly perfect vacation at coral bay resort. the bungolows topped the description in the internet. stuff was extremly friendly and helpful. we definitly will come back next year."
David stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2006-04-01 and said, "Excellent Hotel. We had our wedding there, and many friends and families also stayed there. However, call me a cynic, but I felt that we were constantly overcharged for all services, food, drinks etc. Being yet another Western tourist, the perception was that because we earned more, we would be charged farang rate. This seems to go on all over Samui and a lot of Thailand, and in my humble oppinion, could lead to reduced tourism in the longer term (which Thailand relies heavily on), as people go on holiday to relax, not get overcharged and forced into constant bartering. Perhaps though, I am being unfair in these comments with relation to Coral Bay, as I believe it is the best resort in Chaweng."
Debi stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2006-03-18 and said, "this is the 3rd time I have stayed at Coral Bay, each time taking friends who are as charmed as I.The bungelows are wonderful and the staff very friendly, helpful and attentive. The restaurants and poolside bar are great. The entire property is spotlessly clean and tidy. This year, with the opening of the new Spa, we missed the little couple on the beach who did shoreline massage. The spa is a wonderful value and addition. The only downside to the entire place are the rocks off the beach as you approach the water. Having watersocks or a float woule be avoid the discomfort of approaching the water.I ll be back."
Catherine stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2005-12-22 and said, "A rare treat to find that the Coral Bay Resort was exactly as described on the Sawadee.com page. Nice clean spacious chalets in lovely mature gardens, the menu and food available here was as good if not better than other places visited in nearby Chaweng, 5 minute taxi ride. The staff at Coral Bay were friendly and the service was very good, the beach was the best in the immediate area. An ideal place for those who want to be relatively close to Chaweng but far enough from the crowds."
Katja stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2005-12-17 and said, "The hotel area and the villas were very beautiful and nice. Coral Bay has probably one of the most beautiful hotel gardens at/near Chaweng, especially in this price range. However, the hotel s beach area and the pool area were a bit rusty and so-and-so as regards the chairs and cushions etc. The beach in itself was not as nice as downwards at Chaweng. Also, must say that the served breakfast was not a 4 stars Asian hotel breakfast. But, once again, in this price range the breakfast was ok. Further, the service during the breakfast was amazingly slow: when we arrived to the breakfast at 7 am (in order to go diving), we would get half of the served breakfast plates at around 7.30 when we had to leave already! Later in the morning the servie was fine. As to natural luxury (the hotel s slogan) I would be inclined to argue that there was no other luxury except having the beautiful garden around the villas and being a bit secluded from the noises of Chaweng. As to natural , must say that we were a bit surprised that the maids changed our towels every single day even though we didn t leave them onto the floor or anything...All in all, staying at Coral Bay was definitely good value for money, if one wasn t looking for a bit of luxury."
MC stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2005-09-19 and said, "This resort is absolutely beautiful. The bungalows are spacious and clean. They did a really nice job preserving the natural beauty of the area as well. Beautiful views and great food and drinks at the restaurant. The spa was fantastic as well. It s located far enough away from the busy part of town that it s quiet and unpolluted but it s also very easy and cheap to get in to go shopping, eating or drinking. The beach is a little rocky, but still beautiful and very quiet during the low season. I was very pleased and would love to stay again."
Emmanuelle stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2005-07-13 and said, "this place is simply AMAZING.... a beautiful oasis in samui s craziness..... it s just north of chaweng beach... so a little out of busy city center... overlooking what looks like almost a private beach... definitley coming back here for our 10th wedding anniversay!!!"
Bruce stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2005-04-24 and said, "We thoroughly enjoyed the accomodations and staff. We stayed in the largest villa. It had all the comforts of home including wireless network for my laptop, large projection TV, and great air conditioning throughout."
Rafal stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2005-04-18 and said, "Very, very nice resort, BIG bungalows with huge bed and interesting design.Too far from main area of Chaweng (1-2km).Pool was too warm and too small for this resorts and nobody swam there... mayby everybody was on the beach..."
Bradley stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2005-04-09 and said, "It was exactly as pictured on the internet. The bungalow was great, the food was great, and the staff was wonderful. We were a little ways from the pool and beach, but can be expected if you want privacy. :)"
Michel stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2005-03-17 and said, "Really nice bungalows. Gardens are beautiful. People are nice. Food is very good. Romantic place. Very quiet. But the beach is not as nice as shown on the picture. Too much rocky and water is not clear but very warm."
DR stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2005-03-14 and said, "absolutely wonderful. Definitely coming back in the future."
Ron stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2005-03-04 and said, "Absolutely gorgeous bungalos and gardens and views. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Food & food service (especially breakfast)very disappointing. Pool area average and the beach as well with the sharp coral bottoms (as many others have pointed out)"
Graham stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2005-02-11 and said, "Accommodation, good, staff very friendly and attentive. Refurbished rooms are very comfortable. Breakfast would be better if it were buffet style"
Mark stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2005-01-04 and said, "What a great place to stay - peaceful and quiet and only a 15 minute stroll along the beach to the centre of Chaweng. The villas are Thai style and quite lovely and very private, being situated well apart from your neighbours. Really friendly staff too - thanks for such a great stay."
Steve stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2004-12-17 and said, "Lovely hotel. We really enjoyed the quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Staff was very friendly. Food was good....lunch and dinner menu very extensive. Would recommend hotel to others. Great holiday!"
Gareth stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2004-11-24 and said, "probably the best hotel i ve ever stayed in! absolutley beautiful"
Mr.Bente stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2004-10-17 and said, "Hotel: rating ***. Staff was very nice, but the owners lied to us about awailable beachfront bungalows when we arrived. They told nothing was free for the next 2 weeks, but after 20 minutes of arguing they suddenly had 2 free bungalows, without beeing able to explain the sudden change of availability. The jerks wanted to have them free for people coming without reservation! The beach was dissappointing in the hotelarea, ALOT of sharp Corals. Also no good for children. Roomservice good. Breakfast was much better than expectet. Restaurant has a good menu and tasty food. Very quiet and the garden ist amazing. Easy access to Chaweng by car 24 h.Koh samui is still very nice and the nature ist lovley. We will not stay at Coral Bay resort if we visit the island again."
Farhana stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2004-08-06 and said, "This place is a dream! The banglows are very spacious and offer full privacy and great facilities for a very comfortable and enjoyable honeymoon! We would get up to the view of the sea every morning! The balcony is excellent and very private. The resort itself is 5 minutes cab ride or 15 minutes walk from main Chaweng beach which renders more privacy. (Cabs are cheap and easy to find regardless of hour). Restaurant is fantastic and staff was very warm and helpful at all times. We spent a fantastic week here - definitely a great place for a honeymoon. Cons: Hot water used to run out by the end of the shower, but it wasn t too bad. Since the beach is around the corner from the main strip, the privacy is great, however there are lots of sharp corals in the water and the water is not very clear. We learned the hard way that you can t go into the water without beachwalkers - a fact that all guests should be made aware of by the hotel."
Mr.Robert stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2004-07-28 and said, "Wonderful hotel and staff. Comfortable rooms in a beautiful garden. Relaxed and peaceful. Excellent location away from but accessable to nightlife and shops. Restaurant and bars excellent. Very highly recommended."
Andrew stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2004-07-25 and said, "Amazing! Really beautiful place, accomadation top for price. Just shame deluxe room had no TV, nevermind found plenty to do instead. Probably go back again!"
Douglas stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2004-06-17 and said, "Fantastic! One of the best places I have ever rented. I will come back."
Karin stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2004-06-14 and said, "Fabulous!!! Good breakfasts, small variety, but very good quality. The best, most funky shower in all of Ko Samui.Rooms are beautifully decorated, you have awesome views and a lot of privacy."
Wendy stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2004-04-04 and said, "Beautiful gardens.Private bungalows. Quiet and peaceful but an easy walk along the beach to Chaweng.Excellent service."
Foelmli stayed at Coral Bay Resort on 2004-03-24 and said, "Very nice place / beach. Spacious & clean rrom. Only negative point was the breakfast (staff is very bad)."
