Colin stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2008-05-20 and said, "My fourth visit to Samui, and second stay at Chaweng Resort and will stay there again, good rooms, staff and meals. Slightly out of the main tourist area with good transport access, right on the beach, staff very friendly and respond to any issues straight away, resonable rates and rooms."
Reinhard stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2008-03-15 and said, "We very often think of the nice stay at Chaweng Resort. Starting the day with a good breakfast enjoying the beautiful view from our bungalow terrace we liked resting in the clean pool area of the hotel. Thank you for the nice stay."
Charmaine stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2008-03-01 and said, "Our second stay at Chaweng Resort. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Lots of options for breakfast. Nice gardens, and areas around the two pools to relax. Not too far from the centre of Chaweng"
Kåre stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2008-02-26 and said, "Good location with beach at end of hotel area. Bungalows/rooms are not european standard, but all in all decent. No posh luxury, but for the price we didn t expect it either. Breakfast buffet was ok.A lot of trees and plants surrounding the bungalows made it look nice, but it also attracted alot of mosqitos. The hotel is located south on Chaweng beach, and the beach was quiet and not over crowded."
Nikola stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2008-02-26 and said, "Terrible expirience!!!!!Dont go there!!!! I payed for two nights but gone after first!! Its dirty and old and very depresive place. They stole my cell phone also!!! Never again!!!"
nils stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2008-01-29 and said, "nice hotel, with bungalows to the beach.surrounded with well kept trees and flowers. Friendly and helpful , smiling staff.Breakfast good."
Allan stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2007-02-26 and said, "We stayed in this resort 3 years ago & were very disappointed with our recent visit. The general upkeep of the resort in the interim period has been very poor. A couple of examples follow-1) The pool jacuzzi did not work & an open hole with electrical wires was exposed2) The patio rail of our bungalow had been removed leaving reinforcing metal exposed & potentially dangerous.3) The retaining wall on the beachside looked as if it had been damaged by the sea. Lumps of rubble with sharp remained on the beach. On arrival we were sorry to see that the reception was dirty & flower arrangements had died but not removed. Dead petals littered the floor. Daily cleaning of the accommodation was scant. On the positive side the breakfasts were good & varied & the restaurant staff very friendly & helpful. Like wise the housekeeping staff. It seems as if the training & general management & oversight of the resort is lacking. What makes the resort worth staying at is the beach & proximity to the town & all it has to offer.By choice we would not stay here again."
Kovács stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2007-02-21 and said, "It was all in all a a very positive stay. We liked the beach a lot, the breakfast was excellent and the bungalow suitable. The crew at reception and leaning ladies were most helpful and kind. The garden was beautiful and though it seemed a great task - kept very well by the gardeners. It must be hard to attend such a huge and thick greenery:)The location is perfect. However, let me have some remarks that maybe do not inquire so much financial efforts but would higly increase the comfort of an European traveller. We realize that for such a money we won t get new, but....We haven t had hot water in our bungalow even when - according to the sign-we kept the A/C on... I would heve been a little bit happier if the inner white walls of our bungalow weren t marked with dirt stains and the curtain of the bed wasn t torn, but let s say- mended:) We could have also imagined that the reception building is kept a bit more clean as it is the first impression a traveler gets and the bungalows are much better tended, but that turns out only later if one gets till there. I realize that it is hard to keep the dust away in the dry season and because of lack of rain dirt is in the air especially on the street front, but it would higly increase the trust of the newcomer. One more thing: the flooring of stairs at the garden showers must be repared!!! It s hard to step on under the shower on such a rough surface!!!Anyway, if we go next time, we ll choose you again:) I ve seen some nice beaches in my life but yours could be the most beautiful, BUT clean it of plastics, bottles other mess and cigarette ends, beacuse other beaches are much better at that!!! I know it is not only your responsibility but the joint effort of all the hotels on the beach, but it would pay back it soon:)Best regards,Attila & Eszter from Hungary"
guerin stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2006-08-07 and said, "We passed a very good holidays in coco villas, all peoples are very pretty and the organisation is very good thank you"
Martin stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2006-06-25 and said, "Decent enough bungalows for the price but bring plenty of insect repellant."
John stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2006-06-09 and said, "Chaweng Resort was a pleasant stay, however in need of maintenance to bring it up to good quality standards. The remodel that was being done while we stayed there was ongoing and noisy all the time, especially at breakfast. The resort should have notified the guests as a courtesy. The breakfast was nice, but the morning staff lacked smiles on their faces. The dining room lacked atmosphere, music would have helped the mood. The umbrellas were in poor shape and should be replaced as the poles were rusted off and only a meter or so in height. The Bungalow was nice, private, but lacked maintenance to bring it up to standards of a Quality resort. The curtains were old and barely covered the window area, the door to the bathroom dragged the floor, the shower had black mold visible and the windows were not able to close completly letting cool air out. On a scale of one to ten. Chaweng Resort would recieve a six in my opinion."
khalifah stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2006-04-20 and said, "10TH TIME IN THAILAND (MAINLAND AND ISLANDS) AND 2ND TIME IN KOH SAMUI. I STARTED WRITING BUT IT BECAME TWO PAGES SO I VE DECIDED TO SUMMARIZE.1. CHECK IN. FAIRLY EASY AND THEY ACCEPTED THE VOUCHER. BUT NOT THE USUAL PLEASANT RECEPTION.2. WE BOOKED 3 ROOMS. 2 DELUXE GARDEN VIEW AND 1 GARDEN SUITE. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE GARDEN SUITE, ALTHOUGH IT LOOKS GREAT WHEN YOU FIRST ENTER. IT S A DUPLEX (AIRCONDITIONED ONLY IN THE BEDROOM ON THE 2ND FLOOR) OTHER AREAS ARE COOLED BY CEILING FANS (WITH THE HEAT AND THE HUMIDITY, YOU CAN HARDLY USE ANY OF THE FANNED ROOMS). BALCONY OF BEDROOM IS LOCKED ALTHOUGH THEY HAVE SUNBEDS THERE. RECEPTION REFUSED TO OPEN. BATHROOM NEAR BEDROOM ON 2ND FLOOR HAS A SHOWER AND TOILET BUT NO SINK, SO IF YOU WANT TO WASH YOUR HANDS OR TEETH YOU VE GOT TO GO DOWNSTAIRS. IT MUST BE THE SEASON AS THEY HAVE SWARMS OF FLIES AT NIGHT AS THEY MANAGED TO ENTER INTO EVERY CRACK INTO THE ROOM EVERY DAY AT SUNSET (EVEN THOUGH WE WERE AWAY TOURING). TOILET LEAKED, SHOWER CLOGGED AND OVERFLOWED. NO ATTEMPT TO FIX.3. BREAKFAST. NOT MUCH OF A VARIETY. STAFF DID NOT UNDERSTAND ENGLISH EXCEPT ONE PERSON (IF YOU CAN FIND HER). YOU TRY TO EXPLAIN HOW TO MAKE AN OMELETTE;)I WAS TEMPTED TO COOK IT MYSELF 15 MINUTES LATER.4. CLEANLINESS. THE CLEANING LADIES WERE GREAT & VERY HELPFUL. FASTER SERVICE COULD BE ACHIEVED BY A LITTLE TIPPING AS WELL.5. GENERAL LOCATION. GREAT. NEAR THE TOWN, NEAR THE BEACH, THE SWIMMING POOL COULD BE BIGGER AND CLEANER, BUT WHO CARES IF YOU HAVE THE SEA. POOL BAR SERVICE NEARLY NON EXISTENT.5. I LEFT RECEPTION AND GENERAL SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE HOTEL AS LAST. IT WAS A NIGHTMARE. THE RECEPTIONISTS WERE RUDE, UNHELPFUL, AND THE GENERAL SERVICES PROVIDED BY THEM WOULD CONSTITUTE A ZERO STAR HOTEL. THEIR GENERAL RESPONSE TO EVERY THING THAT IS WRONG IN THE ROOM IS NO CAN DO TONIGHT, COME BACK TOMORROW OR IF IT S DAY TIME NO CAN DO NOW, COME BACK TONIGHT AND IF YOU ARGUE, IT S YOU NO POLITE, GO BACK AND THEN IGNORE YOU OR SLAM THE PHONE IF YOU ARE CALLING THEM, AND REFUSE TO ANSWER AGAIN IF YOU ATTEMPT TO CALL AGAIN. I HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE SAFE (WHICH BY THE WAY IS IN THE BATHROOM), FLOOD IN THE BATHROOM, SWARM OF FLIES IN THE ROOMS, STOLEN PLANTS, WHICH WE BOUGHT FROM GARDEN NURSERIES TO BE TAKEN BACK TO OUR COUNTRY, AND SENT ALONG WITH THE PORTER (AND A BIG TIP) TO TAKE TO THE ROOM (WHICH CONVENIENTLY MAGICALLY REAPPEARED 1 HOUR LATER WHEN WE THREATENED TO REPORT), AND THE BEST... THE DAY OF DEPARTURE. INSTEAD OF ORDERING THE ONE MINIVAN FOR ALL 3 ROOMS (6 PERSONS)AS WE REQUESTED, THEY DECIDED WE NEEDED 3 MINIVANS @ 1000 BATT EACH FOR EACH ROOM. WHEN WE EXPLAINED WE NEEDED ONLY 1 (WHICH ACTUALLY CARRIES ABOUT 10 PAX) THEY ARGUED IN THAI, THREW OUR BAGS IN THE STREET, AND SAID THEIR USUAL... NO CAN DO, 3 VAN OR NO VAN AND THEY LEFT. WHEN TRYING TO SEEK ASSISTANCE AT THE RECEPTION, HE ALSO LOOKED AWAY AND SAID NO CAN DO, YOU WANT CAR GO OUTSIDE. VERY UNHELPFUL AND RUDE. THANKFULLY, WE MET THE SECURITY MAN AT THE HOTEL OUTSIDE WHO IS A GEM. AND HE HELPED US FIND 3 TAXIS THAT WE WERE ABLE TO MAKE IT TO THE AIRPORT IN PLENTY OF TIME (AND AL 3 CAME CHEAPER THAN ONE VAN). WOULDN T RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO MY WORST ENEMY.THANKFULLY, IT WAS NOT ONLY ME WHO WAS EXPERIENCING ALL THESE PROBLEMS BUT ALSO MY OTHER FRIENDS AND ALSO, 2 OTHER COUPLES WE MET THAT JUST CHECKED IN A DAY BEFORE WE TRAVELLED. SO THAT MEANS I MUST NOT HAVE BEEN IMAGINING THEIR ATTITUDE. THEY TOO MAY BE WRITING THEIR COMMENTS WHEN THEY COME BACK. I FEEL SORRY FOR HOTELS WHO HIRE HELP WITHOUT SUPERVISING THEM. THROUGHOUT OUR STAY, I HAVE NOT SEEN A MANAGER ON DUTY (ALTHOUGH I CONTINUOUSLY ASKED TO SEE THE MANAGER). KOH SAMUI IS A LOVELY ISLAND THAT THRIVES ON TOURISM. I STRONGLY SUGGEST THEY MAKE SOME EFFORT TO RECTIFY THESE PROBLEMS, OTHERWISE TOURISTS WILL FIND OTHER MORE WELCOMING COUNTRIES TO GO TO."
Margaret stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2006-04-10 and said, "The bungalows were really good. After booking read all the comments made by others and was slightly apprehensive about the accomodation. However, they were spot on. Yes the towels and sheets were gray, but they were clean and always changed daily. We had three bungalows and although all were different they all had good bathrooms and brilliant beds. The staff were very helpful and always willing to go the extra mile. Would definately recommend it and would return. My only advice would be to go deluxe or above. Think the views alrady given must have been in respect of standard rooms."
Alan stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2006-02-11 and said, "The beachfront villas have excellent location and nice verandah, and the main room is fine: huge canopy bed (though little other furniture, no bedside lights). BUT the bathroom is rather run down and the drains smell a bit. Breakfast is good. Satisfactory for a few days, but not sure I could recommend it given all the competition. Buri Rasa is obviously more expensive, but in a different league altogether. The location is also not ideal, bit of a long slog to the centre (eg Starbucks/Ark bar)(30 mins along the sand)"
May stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2006-01-08 and said, "The bungalow was large with a double and single bed and large bathroom. Tea making facilities, fridge and hairdryer were provided which was nice. Clean but interior of bungalow could do with refurbishing. Pool, sunbeds etc good. Good choice for breakfast. Right on beach. Good value for money - I would stay there again."
Stuart stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2005-12-26 and said, "Hi All. This was our 2nd stay at Chaweng Resort so we must like it.The decor & ammenities are a bit dated. It is on the best part of the beach & close to any shops that you could require. We had a superior room that has a spa , there was no way that I was going to but my Ass anywhere near it.Staff very freindly. A good place to Holiday."
David stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2005-12-08 and said, "All in all a good resort. On arrival we were put in a bungalow that was in need of updating, but managed a room move with the pleasant aid of the staff. The second bungalow was much more modern and I would say was worth the price paid. The location of the resort is very good, a 1 minute walk to the beach due to its water front location and very well placed to cruise the town from for restaurants and shops etc. Breakfast was not bad, a little more variety would be better, but watch out for early checkouts, especially for early ferries, we checked out at 0630hrs without having breakfast as they were not set up to serve. Despite a 0600hr opening claim. On the whole though these were minor problems and I would recommend the resort."
Gregory stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2005-11-06 and said, "Good, not great. Hotel room (a superior) was a pleasant surprise- clean and aesthetically pleasing. There were some annoyances though- there was a lack of hot water, the AC is way too strong (even when set to 28 deg. C, it was too cold), and the king size bed is really two twins put together. Overall it is a fine and comfortable place, but I might consider other options if I m in Samui again"
John stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2005-10-23 and said, "This hotel is in a fantastic location and the staff are all very friendly we stayed during renovations and didnt have hot water but given Thailand s balmy climate it wasnt a big deal. other than that our stay was the best holiday we have ever had."
Donna stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2005-09-05 and said, "We found the hotel to be everything we expected. The bungalows were very spacious and traditionally decorated. For the price, its a great place to stay. The staff in the main building were a little unhelpful, however the lovely ladies who clean the rooms made up for it."
Talitha stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2005-09-03 and said, "My husband and I went to Chawend Resort for our Honeymoon. It was the best experience ever, friendly staff, great food, and the best location by far!! The resort is central to all shops and right on the beach. It was the best feeling to come back from a long weary, hot day and to walk into a coll air conditioned room!! I will definitely recommend it to anyone, especially if it s their first visit to Thailand, koh Samui!"
Anna stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2005-05-03 and said, "Chaweng Resort was just perfect for me. Nice and friendlly staff. The bungalow was big and well cleaned. I also liked the exotic garden and that it is so near to the beach and also to the shopping and restaurants. I can recommend this resort."
Lauren stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2005-03-29 and said, "I was initially disappointed as the superior suite I booked was not in good condition. I requested a room change the next morning to a better bungalow. The bungalows are all a bit different and some have been remodeled. The resort is on a beautiful section of the beach and they allowed us to check out late on our departure day for a minimal fee. Easy place to stay with children."
Jacquie stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2005-03-22 and said, "Great location - fairly close to centre of town, beach on your doorstep with great massages on the beach, full buffet breakfast each morning, nice pool (although the spa doesn t work), friendly staff although don t expect the main reception staff to be as helpful as you would expect. We stayed in a garden bungalow which was clean and airconditioned, towels changed daily and even though they say it s a double bed, it s more like a king. Great value for what you re paying for. would definitely stay there again."
Gracia stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2005-03-10 and said, "Staff at Chaweng Resort is friendly. Rooms are so so. Not very clean. Had rusty water. Large beds. The swimmingpools mentioned are very small and the environment is in poor condition. Breakfast is quite good. Sorry but this managment could do more. Than it would be a very nice hotel on a very beautiful place."
Deborah stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2005-03-10 and said, "We thought the bungalow we had was nice, very spacious, lovely bed, and lots of extras we had not expected, like bathrobes, hairdryer, mosquito killer plug in thing, fridge with drinks and snacks for sale. We had fresh towels everyday and the sheets were changed twice in the 10 day stay. The breakfast is great, everything you can possibly want. The beach is great and there are 2 nice pools. We really enjoyed our stay. On the negative side, the rooms, restaurant, etc are a little tatty around the edges, but not enough to spoil anything. The sunbeds and umbellas really do need replacing, they are old and broken. This hotel seemed to have mainly German guests, so be warned, you need to be up at 7am to reserve your sunbeds with towels just like them, or go without !"
Susanne stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2005-03-02 and said, "Staff at Chaweng Resort are friendly and helpfull. The superior bungalow was spacious but the cleaning was not good. The water was rusty. Breakfast was good. There were many germans and they got up early and booked the sunbeds so if you wanted a sunbed you had to get up early and but your towel on it and that is very bad. The umbrella with the sunbeds was broken and in bad condition and some other parts of the hotel needs a makeover aswell."
CP stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2005-02-20 and said, "Second time I have stayed here both times in superior bungalows. The first time the room was OK but this time very good. Hotel very good all round, the only slight annoyance is that pool side service can be a bit slow (but I think that applies to more than this hotel)."
Florian stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2004-12-11 and said, "Awesome. It was how we expected it. Clean and very huge rooms, excellent service, great breakfast buffett, fitness center and very friendly. If I would go to Koh Samui again, I would definitely go there."
Vincent stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2004-12-02 and said, "The hotel surpassed all of my expectations! The bungalow was spacious, the bed was large and I was steps away from the beach!! I was also able to rent a bike from the hotel to get around. The staff were very friendly and helpful at every step."
Laura stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2004-10-09 and said, "We (three families)arrived in Ko Samui expecting to have transport from the airport to the hotel but it never arrived so we had to bargain with a van owner to get a ride to the resort. When we got there they had no excuse of why it didn t show up at the airport. We decided to stay an extra two days and the Resort charged us almost double the rate that we got on the Sawadee website, which they didn t tell us until we were checking out. Of course they didn t have anyone in the office who could authorize any changes to it at six in the morning. One of the other families had a problem when they checked out because one of their guady fish ashtrays was missing and the hotel want 1000 Baht for it. And lo and behold the evening before we were to leave the guady fish ashtay came up missing in our room only to be found after extensive searching in the desk drawer. I am thinking it is a ploy on the part of the hotel to get more money out of people staying there because there is no way we would of ever put the ashtray in the desk drawer in the first place, and we definitly wouldn t of put it there with cigarette butts still in it. And wouldn t you just know it, when we were to leave the transportation to the airport wasn t there. We had to wait for 20 minutes for them to show up. I definitly wouldn t recommend this hotel. Thing seemed just a little too shaddy for my liking. The only good thing that the hotel had going for them was the food."
Patric stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2004-06-22 and said, "Hotel was fairly good with helpful staff. Bathroom cleaning and general impression did not meet our expectations."
Patrick stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2004-05-26 and said, "this has everything and more you could expect for the money including well maintained rooms with very large beds and an excellent free breakfast"
Charlotte stayed at Chaweng Resort on 2004-02-05 and said, "I think the resort is a good place to stay but I think they on their internet page should write when they are renovating the resort. We just stayed there for a week and they are renovating the place now behind the reception. It didn´t bother us but let people know about the work anyway. But a good clean place to stay with a great view to the sea."
