PARFENOV stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2008-06-17 and said, "This was a very good choice. Good enough quality for the price. The point was to stay in the main building, not in one of the bungalows, and from the balcony we ve got the best seaview available in the whole hotel (bungalows can t provide any view at all), reasonable price and no mosquito problems. We liked very much breakfasts, location, the beach, the stuff, the pool. The only thing we didn t like was overpriced dinner menu (the restaurant was empty most of the evenings). We had booked 5 nights, in the end we stayed 6 nights more. Although we ve seen better hotels on Chaweng Beach, we would definitely recommend Chaweng Cove Resotel to everybody."
John stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2008-02-18 and said, "I stayed for one night only and am very glad of that. I booked it on spec, off the Net and it does not live up to its claims. I paid 2700 THB for a less than average hotel room without a balcony. There is major renovation going on under the hotel block and coupled with the street noise, it is less than desirable.I cannot comment on the bungalows but they appeared very close set and I think that privacy would not be guaranteed.Breakfast was crowded and the staff struggled with the numbers. Quality of food very average.I would not recommend this establishment."
Larry stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2008-01-26 and said, "After checking out almost all the resortss in this area including each locations on site bungalows vs hotel I selected the Chaweng Cove. I am very pleased with their entire operation. They are professional in all aspects. The staff is friendly and heds to your every beconing. They are always present and ready to serve but they do not hang right by your side. I stayed in the balcony facing the sea. I believe it was better than the bungalows. I could sit on the balcony and see the ocean very well. The bungalows are on the ground level and face one another. There is a walkway between then leading to the beach. The view was restricted because of the close proximity of the bungalows on either side of the walkway. The beach is kept clean all day. Peddlers approach you only if you ask them. Otherwise they keep their distance and smile. The location is perfect. You are near one end of the beach therefore there is not a lot of through traffic (beach or streetside). The management serves 24/7. Among the normal Thai breakfast they have egg omelets. They have rental car and motorcycles onsite. You park in front of the office (always occupied) and walk to your room. Security is ever present and stops traffic to help you get into the street. They all make you feel welcome and let you know they are there to assist you. Believe you me - that is so important as I don t speak Thai. I would highly recommend the Chaweng Cove to all people."
Kenneth stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2007-10-11 and said, "Excellent room, very well designed, clean with all mod cons. Friendly staff particularly in the poolside bar. Very good value for money.Breakfast minmal but enough, restaurant good during the day."
Paul stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2007-06-14 and said, "Very nice location and staff. Feel it may be a bit crowded once renovations complete and if fully occupied."
robert stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2007-02-10 and said, "was very unhappy with room. did not know it was directly over the main roadway till we arrived. From 1PM to 8PM a truck would drive by with loudspeakers blaring telling you not to miss kickboxing event each evening. From 10PM to 2PM music from nearby disco made it impossible to sleep and when I tried to tell that to the staff, no one spoke english. Never had prior paid for breakfasts because always could now not get up that early."
STEINAR stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2007-02-09 and said, "What a wonderful place to stay. Great value for your money. We desided to book because our daughters had been her two years earlier. Lucky us. So nice people. So nice beach. Wonderful breakfast, lunch and dinner - and cheap.Walk around to neighbour hotels and was so happy that we had decided Chaweng Cove Resotel. For normenn: dette er virkelig valuta for pengene. Kan anbefales av oss og våre to vennepar som har vært her i uke 6 og 7 i 2007.Fantastisk strand, mat og vennlighet.Topp thai masasje på stranda. Ingen negative overaskelser i det hele tatt."
Michelle stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2006-12-26 and said, "I have to say I was very disappointed with this hotel. I contacted the hotel via their email, not sawadee website, regards a change in my reservation dates and received confirmation that all was fine and my dates had been changed and the room booked accordingly. However, when I arrived at the hotel, they had no record of the change and denied the email. I thought this rather strange as I still had the email. They were able to give us a room but only after a heated discussion. The rooms themselves are dated and the air-conditioning broke down on day 2 of our stay there (garden view bungalow). The bungalows are opposite each other so you look straight into someone else s room and therefore I had the curtains closed most of the time during my stay there. The staff themselves do come across as friendly, except when you have problems and then some of them develop attitude problems!! The place itself is disorganised and the staff don t seem to know what they are doing. I organised, and confirmed twice, my transport to the airport for my flight home with reception and then on appearing at reception at 9am (as requested), I was informed that the car had already left and I hadn t booked the transport. This really was the final straw with this hotel, especially as the person on reception was the lady I confirmed the transport with the day before. I finally caught a taxi myself to the airport which cost me less than it would have if I had gone with the hotel. The hotel itself is quite a way south of the main Chaweng bit so you can expect a 10-15min walk to the bars etc. The only good thing I would say about this hotel is that breakfast had a good choice of options available.Overall, I would not recommend anyone stay at this hotel. It is disorganised and overpriced and I can easily say there are cheaper hotels of equivalent or higher standard available to choose from."
Ray stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2006-12-22 and said, "The Hotel has a nice appearance and all the people were very agreeable. This is certainly a nice place to stay. It is however, a bit far from the nightlife but that can be an advantage and its easy to get around. The beach is good here though they don t have enough beach chairs. They seem to have a shortage of hot water but after complaining twice they improved the situation somehow. Free breakfast comes with the room and is quite tasty but the eggs are risky (I threw one up). Apparently standard room means roadside so these would all be a bit noisy. Note that if you stay over 12/24 you will be forced to pay $60 for a very low quality Christmas buffet (we had to go to dinner afterward). Also be aware that room keys are not unique - you can use yours to get into other people s rooms if you are drinking and get mixed up."
ALEXEI stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2006-12-09 and said, "Staff was very helpfull and friendly, but some of them almost don t speak English (I had to re-order the taxi to the airport as my first order was not performed for some reasons). Food could be way to much better. Location is good. Swimming pool is good. The rooms are in reasonable shape. But you can hear everything at the corridor, which is sucks sometimes if you have noisy neibhours"
Archana stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2006-10-07 and said, "I would not recommend this place to anyone. Nothing like as advertised in the sawadee photos. Around 30 new bungalows are being built in the resort and they are 50% complete. The whole place is like being torn down. Every morning we were being woken up by the sound of carpenters pounding on wood. It is the ugliest resort I have ever been to. Unfortunately it was also my first day of honeymoon. We booked a sea side bungalow and it was ugly to walk through all the new construction sites to get to our bungalows. So we would step out of the bungalow to be gawked at by a million construction workers or take care to not step onto their tools. Also Remember to pack your mosquito repellent as there are a ton of those pests in the rooms. The first day I called front desk to ask for repellents. The person did not understand a word of english. We were bitten whole night long by mosquitoes. And about the front desk staff, I have never seen or met more emotional-less staff ever. No smile to greet and most of them did not speak or understand english. Totally disinterested in everything going on. Location of hotel is good otherwise. BUT its a C grade hotel not worth spending a dime on."
Peter stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2006-08-03 and said, "This is our 3rd trip to Samui & 7th to Thailand so I say we have some experience. The biggest advantage with this hotel is it s place on the beach. This is on the best strip on the beach and not as crowded as further down towards the reef. The least good about it is the breakfast, it s ok but offers nothing extra, and the personel in the resturant is not very cheerful. We stayed in a garden bungalow with our two kids 11 & 13 yrs and that was ok, one extra bed and three of us sharing the big doubel bed. One disadvantage is that the roof on the outside of the bungalow does not cover the chairs on the terrace so when it rains you can not sit ourside your bungalow. Overall a ok place for families for a shorter stay 3-4 days but of your intend to stay longer I would choose a different place with better resturant and roof over bungalow terrace."
Barbara stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2006-07-28 and said, "Nice place to stay. Website is accurate. Having the option of lounging by a pool or the sea is nice and massages on the beach are wonderful. Good location. Lots of shops, restaurants, etc. Things are a tad more expensive than about a mile or two south, but not by much."
Mitsuru stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2006-07-16 and said, "Very good resort! Good value with hotel rate and good swimming pool. But it was too strict with the beach towel. I did not feel good with so many coutions in the hotel such as Don t move the beach chair or Don t use the beach chair except the guest or Don t put the paper in the toilet et cetera"
Kristen stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2006-04-03 and said, "This hotel is in a great location. The pool area is great and pool bar very handy. However was a little disappointed with the quality of the deluxe beachfront bungalow, considering we payed quite a lot of money for it. The breakfast wasn t so great and the reception area definately needs a revamp. Next time we will stay somewhere where we can get more value for money."
Erik stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2006-03-26 and said, "My wife and I have enjoyed a two weeks vacation at Chaweng Cove. A very friendly and helpfull staff, top cleaning, new sheets and towels every day have added to our pleasure. The rooms may need a little refurbishing, but the friendly mood and a splendid location more than compensated for this.Thank you for a very pleasant stay!"
Lisa stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2006-03-07 and said, "I love this hotel and have come back for a second year. Have tried other places in the price bracket but nothing compares. Lovely well-appointed rooms and fabulous breakfasts. Very nice staff. Will definitely be coming back again."
Leif stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2006-02-15 and said, "I enjoyed my stay at this friendly resort. The bungalow was excellent and the breakfast wonderful. The location on the Chaweng beach is very good. Some greeks were very noisy one night but they where thrown out the next day! I can truly recommend this place!"
Al stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2006-02-12 and said, "Not recommended for anyone under the age of 50. A long way from the livlier end of Chaweng and is full over middle aged Europeans working on their lobster tans. All that aside, very clean rooms, but very average breakfast included."
Mukesh stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2006-01-23 and said, "The hotel staff were very nice, i stayed in the standard room, but i dont think it was worth the money i paid, the guests houses are the best place to stay, they are really nice, plus there really cheap."
Peter stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2006-01-12 and said, "This was a surprice. Wery clean and frendly staff. We was 2 adult and one child at 10 and it was perfect. Between the busy street and a calm beach. We can highly recommend this hotel for familys who like both nightlife and silent evening at the veranda Fam Westin"
Janos stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2006-01-12 and said, "I recomend this hotel for everybody. We had a very nice week there.Bungalow were clean.Staff were nice.Breakfast were not so wide range, but enough and tasty.Beach super."
Caroline stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2006-01-05 and said, "Very deceiving from brochures. The bungalows were terrible,we had a leak in our bathroom, the front doors locks are horrid! You could open the door within 2 mins. of trying. The staff hardly speak english. They charge you for EVERYTHING.Would never return."
Juanita stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2006-01-02 and said, "Just okay. We booked beach front bungalows - and there were only four in this complex - and very few on Chaweng so we felt lucky! but we spent more time away from them b/c the beach was so small there were people practically on, and sometimes on, our front porch! service is friendly. it s an ok moderate place. the location is very good for chaweng. poppies restaurant is right next door and is excellent truly, though expensive, other nice bars just steps away. not bad overall."
Dagfinn stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2005-12-31 and said, "Hotel in badly need of renovation.Tiles on bathroom floor damaged, door stopped in damaged tiles. Entrance door also stopped in damaged tiles. Curtains dirty. Table cloth dirty. No hot water in sink. Had to shave in cold water. Bed linen not changed , we stayed eleven days. Used cups and glasses washed in cold water by cleaning staff in bathroom zink. We left one day earlier than planned, but did not get refund from hotel. Hotel no to be recommend by Sawasdee"
J. stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2005-12-27 and said, "The hotel pretty much matched the expectations, but there were some annoyances. The temperature of the aircon could not be adjusted, since there was only an on/off switch. This was a problem, since it got definitely too cold in the middle of the night. The bathroom was also rather tired. I would have expected better considering the price of a poolside bungalow. All the poolside bungalows do not have as nice a view as in the photos on the site, which was also a slight disappointment. However, I would consider staying there again."
stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2005-12-24 and said, "Apon arriving at Chaweng Cove, I was a little disappointed with the room. The bed was two singles pushed together and the bathroom was something else, you could not see yourself in the mirror. After the initial reaction, I have to say that I really enjoyed my stay here. The rooms were cleaned every day, the breakfast was lovely, pool was great and the people that worked there always had a smile on their face. It is certainly not a 5 star place but we did not pay for that either. I would recommend staying there as it is cheap and clean, also centrally located. But I would certainly check about the beds before you arrive :-)"
John stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2005-12-12 and said, "Great hotel and staff were nice and helpful. Second time in Samui and always enjoy our stay, unfortunately missed the Full Moon party again due to bad weather !"
Ted stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2005-12-01 and said, "I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Chaweng Cove Resotel. Very clean bungalow. Staff was very polite and helpful. Service exceptional. Restaurant very good. Pool was always clean and no problems with access to pool or beach lounge chairs. I can not say enough about the staff, very friendly and enjoyable - possibly the culture of the island influences this but it is a nice change from business travel. I will return."
Brian stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2005-11-28 and said, "My stay at Chaweng Cove Resotel was very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. My beachfront bungalow was an awesome setting, pretty basic but cleaned daily with fresh bedding and towels. Pool had just been remodeled and opened a couple days before I arrived so the chemicals were a little strong but other than that it was quite nice. Breakfast was okay, not a huge variety but was warm and filling. Overall it is a very nice resort for the money and a great location. I will stay again this November. B. Goodwin Seattle WA."
D.S stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2005-08-08 and said, "The rooms were clean, except some small bugs in the toilett. The roommaid was very friendly and did an excellent job! As already mentioned by other people there are not enough deck-chairs at the beach and not every chair has a sun shade. The staff at the reception, bar and restaurant are not really friendly and don t really provide a good service we sometimes had the impression they were there for decoration but not to work. Breakfast is nothing special. All in all it is a low price resort clean but no extra services."
Jamie stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2005-06-29 and said, "We stayed at the Chaweng Cove Resotel for 3 days at the begining of July in a delux beachfront bungalow. The room was beyond our expectations, very clean good size and had everything we needed, ie...TV , fridge , good size bed and wardrobe space. The first thing we tested was the shower pressure as we had read reports about it being low with warm water! The pressure was perfect and the heat adjustable just like your shower at home!!The most impressive thing about the bungalow was that you are actually as it says on the beach, you come out of your door onto a verander/balcony which is secure from other beach users, but you are on the beach! The thing we liked the most was when we woke in the morning, opened the curtains and wow the veiw, empty beach with the waves going back and forth. The resort as a whole looked better than the advertisements made out, the grounds were very well kept and most staff were very helpfull. The breakfast was buffet style(they will give you vouchers on arrival) and was adaquate. There are plenty of sunbeds and towls and you can even have a massage on the beach!(buy drinks from the old guy on the beach he s cheaper than the hotel)We will deffinatly book our next visit to samui at this resort and would highly reccomend it to anyone else.HAPPY HOLS!!!"
Henrik stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2005-06-27 and said, "We are a family from Denmark who stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel in june/july 2005. We can highly recommend this hotel and beach. Everything was just fine and we all enjoyed our stay very much.Next time we visit Koh Samui we would like to stay at Chaweng Cove Resotel again."
Petter stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2005-06-21 and said, "This is the third time in Samui, and the second time in Chaweng Cove. We liked it as much this time as last year. The staff is very polite, smiling and helpful, the bungalows are clean and nice, the beach IS paradise, food is perfect. It is not luxuray, but we are not looking for that. We are looking for a nice place to stay, centrally placed to everything, but still quiet. And this place gives us what we want. See you next year..."
Rosana stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2005-05-15 and said, "hotel room was ok, a bit too pricy for the condition of the room. Air conditioning broke twice and it was very noisy at night. The room was clean, just was not a 5 star hotel room."
Ruth stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2005-03-23 and said, "Definitely stay in this part of Chaweng Beach, it is clean and great for swimming. Further north the beach is dirty and further south the beach disappears at high tide. The staff at Chaweng Cove Resotel are very kind and friendly. We stayed for 3 nights in the hotel building which is very spacious and clean with great water pressure and plenty of hot water. Although be prepared for the loud music coming from the bar across the street. We returned to stay one more night after visiting Koh Nangyuan - which we highly recommend - this time we stayed in a pool side bungalow, these are a little run down and the mosquitos were bad. The location is good though. Be brave and try the food from the vendors on the beach. The BBQ corn is fantastic and the Spicy Papaya Salad is a must. All-in-all Koh Samui is a busy fun place to be.For on the beach dinning try Dragon Bay Restaurant near the Regent, it s about 1.5 km north of Chaweng Cove Resotel. Highly recommend, great ambiance and food.We d definitely stay with Chaweng Cove Resotel next time we are in Koh Samui."
lei stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2005-03-14 and said, "fairly good"
Thomas stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2005-02-26 and said, "This place I can recommend to other travellers. Nice, freindly and helpful staf. Nice bungalows that was cleaned every day. Very good located. Nothing to complain about. Good price for the room."
Dave stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2005-02-20 and said, "Bungalow was OK, but shower poor pressure. The sunbed problem seems to never go away ! Your only option was to join the masses putting your towel down the night before, as we did after 6 days there not having got a sunbed at the pool or beach, only to find them thrown in the pool in the morning and some fat German cow lying on the beds ! Went straight to reception and one of the ladies there was very apologetic and reported it to the manager and they laundered our towels for free, but we were so p*ssed off that we checked out early and went to the Chaweng Resort up the road which was an improvement (although the staff there were a bit miserable a lot of the time). Friends said the sunbed thing was the same at Baan Samui too, so I would pay the extra next time and get a top end resort as they have beds for the number of people that stay there it seems !"
Susann stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2005-02-19 and said, "We did not stay in the hotel but in one of the garden view bungalows. We liked it and since it is a bit windy at Chaweng we liked that we did not get a waterfront bungalow. The only 2 things we can complain at is the fact that the hotel reception is not good at English and the bar is not that service minded. Over all we were satisfied with the hotel and our stay at Koh Samui :)"
Britta stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2005-02-18 and said, "We enjoyed our 14 night long stay at this hotel. This is not a luxury hotel, but ok for the price. It was clean with a great loccation and the staff was helpful and nice. We will stay here again!"
lars stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2005-02-18 and said, "A very nice hotel to stay at. Friendly helpful staff and a good breakfast in the morning sets you of for a nice day!All this you will find at Chaweng Cove.We had a good and spacey room though the closnes to the street might put some people of, but in that case ask for an other room! The price was o.k.We are very pleased with our stay."
Ola stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2005-01-26 and said, "A good hotel for small money. Clean and nice.Poolarea ok but not enough sunbeds, they were always occupied. The bad thing was that the breakfast stopped serving at 9.30am. Sometimes you want to sleep until 10.00 or more. The restaurant had perfect food and service but the poolbar were not friendly. Our children wanted milkshakes from the menu but they just sighed. But we think the hotel is perfect for small money, even for children. We can warmly recomend this hotel. Kap kon kap."
Cindy stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2005-01-24 and said, "we were there for 10 days it was amazing. the resort is really nice and the bungalows are nice too, clean and a really good size. the staff is really nice and helpful if you need anything. the location is good too and the beach wow... will definetly recommend it to others...."
Kylie stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2005-01-20 and said, "The hotel was good in itself, the staff were lovely and the breakfast included was great! The problem I had was not being able to get a sunbed at the pool or the beach EVERY day!! There seems to be a system of people reserving a sunbed the night before, and sometimes not even turning up... this was soooo annoying and the pool staff did absolutley nothing about it!! So be warned if you stay here to reserve your sunbed early....."
Jeremy stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2005-01-20 and said, "Very poor service and dirty / old room. The bathroom you d expect from and 200baht hostel, not a 1700+ per night room. (we had to use a shower from another room)Most staff and resturant were excellent, pool okay. Also our room was not ready, not clean. The wrong rooms were booked, no double beds. No help at all to move rooms. One baby cot we were given took us 30 miniutes to clean, even had a a chicken bone it in!Broken sink, broken door, broken tiles, broken electric plug with sparks when you try to use... the list is endlessVery rude and un-helpful reception staff, name Nongluk J."
David stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2004-11-28 and said, "Room didnt look anything like the photos on the internet. If you had anything from the minibar it took them 5 days to refill. no ligth above mirror in bathroom hard work to shave. Aircon made a strange noise hard to sleep. Staff at reception counter on checkout counter very rude. Also on last day they came banging on my door at 10am to get me to check out.Food good , pools nice all other staff ok."
Corne stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2004-11-27 and said, "We stayed for a total of 10 days without knowing what to expect, made reservations for a Superior Pool side bungalow which came out as an excellent room. From the hut it was a 25mt walk to swimming pool, restaurant or beach, perfectly cleaned every day.Location on Chawaeng Beach is also great and quiet, just outside the main entertainment area but a short enough walk to reach it. Breakfast had enough variety to keep both of us happy. All in all we enjoyed our stay at the resotel and will return again some day."
Rachel stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2004-11-14 and said, "bungalow on beach good size and clean, location in chaweng spot on near enough to bars etc. but still quiet. Staff in resort not as friendly as other places have stayed in thailand but still no major complaints. Need more sunbeds on the beach. Recommend visiting koh-phangan."
John stayed at Chaweng Cove Resotel on 2004-11-13 and said, "Great location on the beach, pools very good and right in chaweng main street. Had breakfast most days which was fine and had drinks in the beach bar which has great views. The beach hut I was in was excellent, cleaned daily and all the amenities you require. I would definitely stay there again and thought it was very good value for money, was there November, B&B 1450 Baht per night. I ve stayed in various places in Samui and this pound for pound was the best value."
