Stefan stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2008-06-07 and said, "Our second stay at Chaweng Buri. We really like this hotel, nice and helpfull staff. Very nice garden, it s like a jungle. Close to shopping and restaurants. Big and clean bungalows. The pool this year was not as clean as last year. We had to tell the staff to clean it. Bur overall, a prefect hotel at Koh Samui"
Tina stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2008-04-09 and said, "It was my 4. stay at Chaweng Buri Resort (1998+1999+2001+2008) and it was very nice and wonderful again. Please save the wonderful garden! The one thing, we are sad about: the whole chaweng beach is not beautiful as ten years ago... Very much waste in the sand and water."
Alexandr stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2008-03-12 and said, "We lived in the hotel for the new year, two families, we are very liked. The service was good. The only thing we did not like this celebration of the new year. It was boring, food and drinks are not liked. It was expensive (4500 BHT per person, pay more when making reservations), and had to pay for drinks separately. This time, we went into this room, hoping for good service, but this time it was much worse. I do not know why, but the personnel was worse than the last time, there was no bath robes, etc. While our friends who lived in this hotel during this period, such problems did not exist. I think you need to agree on the reception immediately, that there were no such deficiencies. Overall, the hotel good location, good rooms, limping slightly service (according to the latest trip)."
Elise stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2008-01-11 and said, "Chaweng Buri Resort was a fantastic choice for our accommodation during our trip to Koh Samui. The location was fantastic right in the heart of chaweng beach. The resort itself was more than we expected with beautiful bungalow style rooms surrounded by the lush rain forest setting. The facilities were extremly enjoyable, and the food was great. I would definately return to this resort for my next holiday to Koh Samui"
manuela stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2007-08-11 and said, "Chaweng Buri Resort was a real disappointment!!! we stayed there one week, when we arrived the room was a smoking room and it smelled of smoke (we have requested a non-smoking room) we went to the reception desk in order to ask to change room and the lady was really unpolite with us saying that they were fully booked and at that moment we could not change our room. The room was very old-fashioned, we stayed in samui paying less but having much more comfort, the bathroom was dirty and old. Finally, we got a new room, but although the room was nicer Chageng Buri doens t worth the price we paid.Only positive aspects were the beautiful beach and good location.we don t reccomend this resort."
Hermenier stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2007-05-09 and said, "très très bien, tres agréable, bien qu à côté de la rue principale de CHAWENG, l hôtel est très calme. Les chambres sont propres, le petit déjeuner est varié."
Kikke stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2007-03-19 and said, "This must be one of the best places on Chaweng. Staying in a jungle with just a few steps to the beach.Clean an good service, very friendly staff. We will come back!"
hillel stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2006-12-06 and said, "very good one, location, everything"
Gerald stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2006-10-21 and said, "Excellent location on Chaweng Beach. Easy walking to restaurents and shops. Very nice beach. Good value for price. Nice clean cabins in a beautifully landscaped area. Good breakfast. Only problem was NO HOT Water for the entire week, even though we made daily calls to the front desk. Even so, we would stay there again, would just insist on moving to a cabin with hot water."
Mario stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2006-08-07 and said, "We ve been in Thailand many times and we were aware that in Koh Samui you are paying more than in other parts of Thailand, but this hotel was a big disappointing.Forget about the nice picture with sun beds around the pool... They are not there. They are on the beach and not enough for all guests. The beds are extremely hard. The only good thing is the good location, near restaurants and shops. The stuff is not unfriendly but do not seem to care too much.Stay at other hotels in Thailand and you will feel the difference. If you want to pay less for the same quality go to Montien house; we lived there last year and it was worth the price. Baan Chaweng Beach Resort & Spa is also much better. If you want quality, Central Samui Beach resort or Amari Palm Reef Resort are very nice, but a little bit too far from the centrum.Everything can be summarized by the words: BAD MANAGEMENT"
Giorgia stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2006-08-07 and said, "very good location, in the central part of Chaweng beach, close to restaurants and bars on the beach. Nice bungalows swimming pool bar and restaurant on the beach. The only negative aspect is that in August, due to a lot of customers, we had to wake up very early to occupy sunbeds on the beach, because they were not enough for eveybody. But in general VERY VERY NICE HOTEL."
Simmar stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2006-07-27 and said, "Spent 5D/4N in Chaweng Buri. Must say had a very good experience. We were staying in the superior cottage which was pretty decent..Chaweng Buri is really good value for money. Its a place surrounded by a lively market on one side and an action packed beach on the other. The resort compound seems like a tropical rainforest kinda place with little cottages... right in the middle of the town. The ONLY PROBLEM we had is COMMUNICATION.. Thailand should have its folks more tuned to English language. Practically none of the service staff( waiters, housekeeping etc) understand a word of English.. and only sign language works with them!Otherwise, a great experience at Chaweng Buri -- would strongly recommend it and would stay there next time as well.."
Bozica stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2006-05-31 and said, "What a disappointment! We knew we had booked a 3-star resort and did not expect luxury but, having been to Thailand many times and having loved it, never would we have believed that things could be so bad.The resort itself is very pretty and whoever originally designed it, did so with great attention to detail and with a loving touch. Obviously other people have had good times there and we are sure that things must have been very different in the past. The present, however, is very bad. We were a party of four and had booked the two most expensive bungalows, the Grand Deluxe Chalets, which are located in the first row very close to the beach. On arrival, only one of the bungalows was available - despite the fact that we had made the reservation approx. 8 months in advance! However, had this been the only problem, it would not be worth mentioning, as the bungalow became available the very next day. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The bungalow itself looked very run-down with dirty walls and stained curtains, mould on the bathroom walls and ceiling and worst of all, it was infested by cockroaches! In the restaurant, where also the breakfast was served, the table cloths had not been changed for ages, there were huge coffee and food stains on them when we arrived and they were still there when we left. Very often during breakfast one had to go in search of coffee or tea and only occasionally one of the staff would actually walk around and serve the beverages. More often than not something was missing on the table, either there was no cup or no cutlery or both. And it was not because the staff were overburdened with work and simply had not got around to doing it - they were mostly standing together in a crowd and chatting or looking bored. Breakfast itself was ok, other meals were a different matter. Not wanting to leave the resort during the hottest hours we had lunch there a few times and the quality of the food was appalling; the meat was of the meanest quality, the meals arrived at the table in cold or tepid condition. The restaurant staff made a bored and frustrated impression; while friendly enough they seemed to be totally clueless. Their uniforms were old and worn, sometimes even torn; they seemed not to have been trained in any way and did not know how to properly serve food or beverages; on one of the poolside tables various things left there probably by a guest were not removed for days. Our impression was that the management of this hotel simply does not care! We received very good proof of this when two days after our arrival the (paying!) guests were evicted from the pool area from the early afternoon onwards because the hotel manager was holding a private celebration there! This included very loud live music which went on until the early hours of the morning and prevented everyone (except those fortunate enough to have ear plugs) from sleeping! With this kind of attitude from the management towards their paying guests it is little wonder that the staff cannot be bothered either. The next outrage was the beach. It is certainly not the hotel s fault if the guests behave like pigs and throw all sorts of garbage into the sand and water; I must say to the hotel s credit that they did make an effort to keep the beach clean. However, what was incredible was the fact that the (paying!) guests who wished to swim were forced to do so within a very small fenced-in area which was sandwiched between two jet-ski rental stations. Moving outside this area might have proved lethal as the jet-ski lenders and users did not show the least consideration for people who did not wish to limit their swimming to a few strokes in each direction, which was all that was possible within the small pen into which we were crammed. And this is not an exaggeration: People who did venture outside this very small and very crowded area found themselves chased for fun by jet-skis and had to turn back for fear that the fun might go wrong. It was very obvious that somebody was making money off these jet-ski rentals and regarded normal swimmers as a nuisance which had to be kept within a very limited area. We would not have been surprised if one morning there had been signs on the beach saying Swimming Prohibited !We have been to Thailand many times (for me it was the 7th time!), we love Thailand and we love Samui; we are aware of the cultural differences and we do not expect things to be like home . We don t mind mistakes happening or not always being understood because of insufficient language skills. Generally, our experiences with Thai people and Thai hotels have been wonderful. But this time we felt that the only thing this hotel management was interested in was our money; once we had paid it (unfortunately we had to pay the full sum in advance) we were only a nuisance. Chaweng Buri Resort - never again!"
jurgen stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2006-05-27 and said, "The resort was fine en the service was good. They cleaned the room every day. Rooms and facilities where great. Special thanks to the barman at the beach. I would recomment this resort. We had a very pleasant stay."
Margareta stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2006-05-25 and said, "Our family, including twins aged 11, had a great stay at Chaweng Buri. Friendly staff, especially thank´s to our cleaning lady Anong who did a fabolous job, nice gardens, well kept and clean beach, tasty food. When we go to Thailand, we go there for the fantastic people, great food, fun in the sun and terrific swims in the ocean. We can agree with other comments that the rooms and bathrooms are a bit tired but very clean! We don´t spend our vacations in the room. Chaweng Buri also has a great location in the central of Chaweng with close acces to all the shops and restaurants. We will defenitly book this hotel again! And to all you doglovers....If you see Lucky a nice white dog on the beach with one ear up and one down, give him a hug from us. He was absolutely charming."
Roseng stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2006-05-19 and said, "Very good hotel. Nice bungalows and Garden. Also the staff is very friendly. Only the Beach staff we dont know what they really do the whole day (sleeping!). Its very nice that the dogs can be in the hotel/restaurant/beach."
Patricia stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2006-04-02 and said, "My husband and I stayed at Chaweng Buri for 2 weeks. The hotel is very calm and quiet despite the location in central Chaweng. The bungalows are set in a lush tropical garden wich creates a private atmosfare. The staff at the reception was very nice and always helpful. The bungalows are clean and neat though the bathrooms might need a facelift. We had problems with getting only very hot or cold water in the shower. The beach is beautiful, with white sand and crystal clear waters but very, very busy. Chaweng Beach is just not for those seeking calm and privacy. The hotel keeps the beach in front of the hotel clean (wich is not the case everywhere on this beach). Staff at the beachfront resturant was amazingly serviceminded the first week. Something must have happend though, because the second week they acted really wird. Five people standing together, chatting with each other paying absolutely no attention to the guests. Service was surprisingly superslow and unattending the whole week. Staff seemed bored and uninterested. They did not take our orders, keept us waiting and brought the wrong food, and the wrong bills. Very strange. Food was ok. The breakfast buffe offered lots of options. In all the Chaweng Buri is a very good option for those wanting to stay at a good hotel Central Chaweng. It is located at the best part of the beach and in the eventing it is just a few minutes walk up north to lots of nice beachfront resturants."
Brianna stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2006-01-28 and said, "Superior Bungalows were great. Decor and rooms are quite good, although the hot water system was not fantastic. Best part of the resort are the lovely established tropical gardens. Front desk staff were very accommodating. Resort is in the middle of Chaweng beach which was great for walking to restaurants etc. along the beach. Away form the loud music of other resorts further up the beach. I would definitely recommend."
Dave stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2005-11-08 and said, "pleasant rooms though a little tired - bathroom needs modernising, but was still clean and nice enough. Nice pool, and right on the beach with plenty of deck chairs. Plenty of staff - all quite helpful. Right in the middle of the main street, so handy for shops, bars etc. but is still tranqil and quiet."
Lena stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2005-09-22 and said, "This was a very good hotel. Directly on the beach and on the shopping-street the location was perfect. We had a baby 1,5 year old with us. She really enjoyed the beach and when she was asleep in the evening we could take turn in shopping since it was so near. The staff was super, they love children and was so friendly and helpful. We will definatly go back here and can really recommend this hotel to families with small children."
Lee stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2005-09-22 and said, "Excellent hotel. Highly recommend"
Katrin stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2005-09-14 and said, "A comfortable resort with nice clean bungalows in a big tropical garden. The shower was most of the time with only cold water and not very good. Service was very good, with good breakfast."
Suzy stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2005-09-07 and said, "Hotel was really nice, right on Chaweng strip and on the best bit of beach. Staff were nice. Rooms were good but found a lot of ants in the room, couldn t leave and food or drink around. The bathroom could be a bit cleaner. But all in all really great holiday"
Marilyn stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2005-09-07 and said, "Chaweng Buri Resort is located very well for the busy shopping area and restaurants in Chaweng. The bungalows are quite nice and set in lovely landscaped gardens and surprisingly quiet, considering how close it is to the busy main street. The only problem we had was being placed into a Superior room instead of the Deluxe for which we had booked six months earlier."
Rene stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2005-08-26 and said, "Hotel was so far so good. Staff could be much more friendly. Staff at the pool was very unfriendly and not usefull. What are they doing all day ? i did not figure out. As long as you dont relay on the normal Thai Hospitality the place is good."
Katharine stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2005-08-24 and said, "great place! between busy road and sea as are all resorts on this beach but planned so that road might as well not have existed! Lush tropical gardens, good sized bungalows. Beach excellent - shallow at low tide but good swimming from mid to high tide.Only criticims (and they did not spoil holiday) were that internal arrangement of bed etc. meaat that because of large windows, you felt you needed the curtains drawn if you retreated to the room in the daytime. Restaurant (overlooking beach and pool) excellent - recommend seafood which you select yourself."
Jennifer stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2005-07-01 and said, "This was exactly what we wanted in a resort at Koh Samui. Nothing overly fancy like hotels which have no feeling of Thailand but... nothing too basic or grotty! These bungalows were so cute with gorgeous 4 post lacey beds, clean and cool, with shady verandahs and lush tropical gardens, right on the best part of the Chaweng beach and shopping strip, yet still so quiet. The pool is not huge but the pool area was enjoyed by many families with young children. As single friends enjoying a holiday without our kids, we preferred to spend days on the sun lounges on the sand, of which there were plenty. We were surprised not to find more Aussies at this resort because they would love it."
Katja stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2005-06-27 and said, "The location of the hotel was very good and the beach just great. Very nice staff and a caring management. The bungalow were clean and cool, with shady verandahs and lush tropical gardens, right on the best part of the Chaweng beach and shopping."
Mary stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2005-04-13 and said, "we had a family bungalow on the beach which was excellent..and we had friends staying in one of the superior bungalows and they loved it too...the staff were wonderful and friendly...the resort was close to shopping and it was a relief to come off the main shopping strip and back to the beach and resort facilities...highly recommend for families or friends"
Luis stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2005-03-25 and said, "The best place to be in Samui! Nice bungalows friendly people & nice location on the beach.I ve been there for the past 3/4 years in X mas and Easter and sometimes in August i fully recomended this place to everyone."
Helle stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2005-03-02 and said, "It was our first time to Thailand, and with our son who is 4 years old, you have to find places that also are good for children. I think that Chaweng Buri Resort was a fine place - but a playground would have been nice. There are absolutely quit even though the street is guiet near. I think you really soon get enouth of the street, and it is almost the same they are selling, T-Shirts, bags e.t.c. we therefore thouse BopHut for our last 5 days (peace resort). The room was okay, and the same was the service."
Mona stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2005-02-23 and said, "We stayed in Deluxe bungalows near the pool and restaurant, and we felt it was good value for money. Nice spacious bungalow with one double and one single bed as standard. We also had a babycot in the room, without feeling it was too crowded. Very nice and clean bathroom. The staff at the reception could use some training in how to attend to their guests. We experienced some of them as not very customer friendly. We had bought a card for using their high speed internet, and it turned out it was something wrong with their internet connection at the time when we needed to get in touch with our work back home. They were very grumpy when we asked for our money back, as we needed to go somewhere else with internet service in order to get our work done in time. Slow service and not the best food in their restaurant. Very convenient if you want to do some serious shopping at the end of your Thai holiday. You step out of the hotel, and you re there. But be aware that they, as every other hotel in Thailand, has misunderstood what most western people on holiday want, they have awful live music at least twice a week. Old coversongs! This could be a problem if you have a bungalow close to the pool and restaurant, and you want to enjoy the sound of the waves from your terracce, or you have kids needing to go to sleep early. Be aware that they do not follow your washing instruction when you deliver laundry. We had several things ruined in the laundry because of dark colours being washed with light colours. Not what you expect from hotel laundry!"
Camilla stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2005-02-17 and said, "A very nice resort with lots of bungalows. We stayed in a larger one nere to the beach, pool and restaurant.Free towels and a lot of sunbeds but they where very close to each other and not able to move.Very good breakfast. Nice beach but little to much people."
Alec stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2004-12-10 and said, "The hotel was pretty much what I expected...not as nice as the pictures but they never are. The bathroom is not airconditioned and gets steamy, the walls in the bathroom really show the hotels age, espcially near the cieling. Had the joy of finding a small snake in my room but was quickly rescued by one of the wonderful staff with a broom and a bag. The location was great, near the beach and town. It was amazing how quiet it got just 1 minute from the street and into the resort. Breakfast was fine...eggs to order and local food as well. Pool was nice. Beach was fine sand. The staff was very nice and attentive. Rented a jeep from the activity desk for 1000 baht per day. Great way to get around. There were nicer hotels and worse to be sure. Overall decent value for the money. Many families there with children."
Hoshang stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2004-11-13 and said, "Really nice hotel. Amazing place to stay and the best thing about the hotel is that it is in the very heart of town and where things are happening. The rooms or should I say the huts are wonderful gave a sense of being in a wooded jungle with all the amenities of a modern house. The sea was super to swim in and so was the pool. But the services of a life guard would mke this more comfortable. The breakfast included was amazing and the service was always polite and with a smile. A definate place to visit again and again. Thank you so much for making our stay so wonderful. Will definately be recommending this to friends and family."
Kelly stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2004-10-16 and said, "The Buri resort was a pleasure to stay at,we will definately stay there again.the accomodation and hosptiality from all staff was one to remember. The location of the resort was perfect with the main street for shopping and resturants on one side and the beach on the other. I highly recommend the Buri resort for a holiday.. been back home for 3 days and aready want to go back.."
Bruno stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2004-07-21 and said, "Good morning,I confirm that my stay at Chaweng Buri Resort was very pleasant and, unfortunately, too short. With pleasure I would remain two or three weeks more.Your staff was unexceptionable.Always at disposal of the client and so the service.Good restaurant but the breakfast is to improve."
Omer stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2004-06-19 and said, "This was my second stay at the Chaweng Buri Resort which is situated at the best beach of Koh Samui. The resort has a very good layout. The staff is very courteous and cooperative. If all goes well I will definately go to Koh Samui for a holiday and choose Chaweng Buri Resort for my stay."
Miss. stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort on 2004-05-22 and said, "we had the best holiday, the staff were friendly, the pool was excellent, and the rooms were clean and tidy, we stayed in the deluxe bungalow which was right next to the pool and the restaurant. Breakfast was included in the price, which was a fully cooked breakfast and usually kept us going until dinner. Excellent swimming at the beach, further north was slimy, shelly and dirty, although they tell me the swimming north is better in December. Shopping, bars and restaurants on the doorstep. Only place we saw better was Banana Fan, which is slightly further south, a really new resort for slightly cheaper than what we paid."
