Barry stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2007-12-31 and said, "We found the hotel to be very clean and well kept. A bit out of town but staff were always at hand to take you in. They were also very friendly and helpfull in organising trips and days out. The steep hill can be a bit off putting but the view at the top was worth while. The resturant served great food and the pool was welcoming too. Overall, we would rate it 10 out of 10! WE would highly recommend it."
Chen stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2007-12-28 and said, "I stay one day in a villa with jacuzzi. The room is very spacious and the Jacuzzi looks much bigger than in the web pic.The staff is friendly and nice. The way to the villa is quite steep but the staff will take you to your room by a car upon arrival."
Andrew stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2007-11-20 and said, "Nothing special, it was average. no privacy and construction is on both sides of the property this time of year / november 07. the mattress smelled like it had mushrooms growing, very moldy.perhaps a room without the jacuzzi would be good to avoid this. the big homes looked great for big families, but i did not see the inside. pool was great and the view from the pool side restaurant is nice."
Timothy stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2007-06-29 and said, "I found the hotel very pleasant. It is close to the airport(about 5 mins.drive)and is very quiet with plenty of privacy. The room was big with decent bathroom and nice veranda. There is a free taxi service to the nearby resort centre from 9.00 A.M.- 5.00 P.M.There is a steep walk to the rooms, but did not prove to be a problem.I would recommend this hotel to anybody planning a trip to Koh Samui."
Georgia stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2007-06-15 and said, "Hotel was very nice, clean and in excellent repair. The staff was exceedingly friendly. The only problem was that the hotel itself was a bit far from the beach and the swimming pool was up a rather steep hill. It was a very beautiful pool though, and very worth the trek."
Karina stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2007-04-06 and said, "As this was our second stay at Chaweng Bayview we were hoping it could be as good as our previous stay. Our expectations where surpassed. The rooms were immaculate, the view was breath taking, the reception was very helpful and friendly, and not at least the staff was fantastic. Nothing was too much to ask for. In particular Kai and Thu Zar ensured that our stay at Chaweng Bayview was the best holiday ever. We will definitely be back."
Johan stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2007-03-10 and said, "Nice hotel with really friendly and helpfull staf.We booked at Villa jacussi and it was very nice with a enchanting view over the sea. Unfortunatly they had a problem with tha filter for the pool, but it was solved in two days.Steep hills that gives you som exercise.A great hotel that i can recomend."
Andrea stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2007-02-13 and said, "The location of the hotel is just too far away from the centre of chaweng beach and you don t have the possibility to go to the beach. On the other hand you have jungle around you and in this case you must calculate with spiders and other animals...in our case we ve had a wireworm in our bathroom - poisonous!Staff was not as friendly as we had in other locations."
John stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2007-01-06 and said, "Beautiful room with personal spa and spectacular view, very private. Hotel is small and relaxed with good friendly service. Hotel is a 5 minute scooter ride from Chaweng and at the top of a very steep hill, but if this doesn t worry you I recommend this hotel."
Winnie stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2006-12-14 and said, "Resort: Not the 5 star resort kind of place but a cosy little resort. Few amenities. The swimming pool is small but rather nice and well-designed, overlooking the sea. As usual, the slope leading to the room is the killer but could easily be overcomed by asking the frontdesk for pickup service.Location: Rather far from the beach but good if you want some peace and serenity. The hotel could send you to the Chaweng centre at the price of THB 50/ pax but it would cost average THB200 to get a cab back to hotel. So this could add up to quite abit of money.Staff: The staff are rather helpful and friendly, with reasonable command of English.Room: Very nice, uniquely designed. Excellent for a romantic getaway. (we had a villa with red curtains... just like it is on the website... no catch at all). Bathroom is big but water pressure is small, and with the huge space, maybe a bathtub could be installed?Overall: Very pleasant and we wished we had stayed longer. Would definitely consider going back again."
Brendan stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2006-11-05 and said, "Great hotel. All the complaining about the steep slopes I noticed when I read the hotel reviews, but the people at the front desk (bottom of the hill) have a dedicated driver to take you to your hotel up the slope. Also, the taxi drivers usually dropped me off at the top of the hill (by my hotel) because there is another gate. The only effort is walking down the hill (I think they will pick you up if you call), so if you are extremely lazy or decrepit you should have no problem (I was at the top most room on the hill). Best bang for the buck I ve seen in a long time (Personal Jacuzzi is a great deal if you have the extra money)."
Carla stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2006-08-30 and said, "Lovely hotel which cannot be faulted in anyway. Small, peaceful resort. Clean and very comfortable. This hotel is at the quieter end of Chaweng (perfect for us) but is a two minute taxi ride to the center. The pool was lovely and clean. The resturant food was excellant, well priced. All staff were friendly. Great value for money. If you are not good at walking the villas are a walk up a steep hill, although during the day and most of the evening there is someone to give you a lift!"
Maria stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2006-08-07 and said, "We are just back from Samui where we stayed at the Chaweng Bayview Resort. What an enjoyable experience! The staff are lovely, extremely friendly, always smiling and ready to help. We stayed in the bottom floor of the Yanoi 1 apartment, which was nice and clean. The resort is about 15/20 minutes walk away from the main strip of Chaweng, which we found to be slightly inconvenient at times but at the same time, it was nice to be away from the hustle and bustle. Taxis are also readily available and the resort also have a taxi service which was always that bit cheaper than the other taxis. It is also on a rather steep hill! This isn t too much of a problem however, as they have a caddy service to drive you to your apartment should you not feel like tackling the climb. With the climb comes the reward of the stunning scenery - from the pool deck you are treated to amazing panoramic views of sparkling blue sea. All in all, we would highly recommend the Chaweng Bayview."
Laura stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2006-07-02 and said, "The hotel was lovely, staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. Food was excellent. Rooms was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Highly recommend staying here."
kelly stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2006-05-22 and said, "This resort accommadation is on a very very steep hill. The Double villa with Jacuzzi is ok, but we were put off by the hills. You had to walk up the steep slope to get to your villa, then up another steep hill to eat in the restaurant or swim in the pool. The staff seemed courteous and polite, but we decided this was not for us. We are in our 30 s and still found it hard going the walk. The pool was in a great place as the view was amazing looking out over the sea and at such a height was beautiful. The staff do offer you a lift up to the restaurant/pool if you call them and ask. It was quiet when we stayed and it seemed we were the only guests, so we checked out early after 1 day out of 4. The location was not close to centre as it advises, its a good 7 minute drive in a taxi for 50bht per person, but you are away from the beach, shops street restaurants and everything here. If you are not too keen on hill walking in the humidity and heat then its a no go for you here!"
chenxi stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2006-01-16 and said, "Very nice Resort. The staffs are Very friendly and helpful. Can rent a motor bike at the hotel and take you to the central city in a few min."
Tanya stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2006-01-08 and said, "Hotel was in the north of Chaweng so it was away from the hustle and bustle but still close enough that you could get amongst it easily. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was spacious, well appointed and clean. Jacuzzi was excellent! Swimming pool was great with views over the ocean. Large breakfast included in price."
William. stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2005-10-08 and said, "we really enjoyed our stay here the room with the jacuzzi was excellent, the jacuzzi was brilliant way to relax after long hot days, topped up with warm water to suit yourself. The staff could not be more helpful or friendly if they tried. Kevin the manager made sure our stay was everything we expected and was there to welcome us any time we went to the restaraunt and spent time talking to us and giving advice on where to go or eat in all he provided a service we would not get at any larger resorts. As for the hill it is a bit steep but if we called the reception they would gladly give us a lift up to the restaraunt/pool area so the hill was not an issue. The pool is in a brilliant location overlooking Chaweng Bay where the views are stunning and the pool is kept spotless. During our holiday we looked at other accomodations in Chaweng and realised we could not have made a better choice. WE were 5 minutes from the main beach/shopping area by bike or taxi and could relax in peace and quiet in the evening. So we would like to thank Kevin (manager) and all of his staff for making our stay in the Bayview Resort a holiday to remember and if we are back in Samui in the future we will definitely stay there again."
Tarja stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2005-10-01 and said, "We d like to thank you for the excellent week in Koh Samui Chaweng Bayview Resort. Special thanks to Kevin, the new manager, who helped us to get a boat for fishing and snorkeling and was there every morning greeting us happily. The rooms in Samrong can be well recommend to family of four (two big beds and two separate bedrooms). The view is great, the quiet but convinient location out of the most bustling area of Chaweng beach is added bonus (but still Chaweng is just a short drop by the local transport). However, for the view, you have to walk uphill but luckily there were always some of the helpfull staff taking you up by the wan or golf car. During the off season we felt like having the pool just for ourselves. Try mango squash or the local specialities at the pool restaurant - they were great! Really enjoyable week."
Simon stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2005-09-16 and said, "First Class. Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. For the price it is unbeatable. Staff couldn’t do enough for you. The hotel is not set on the beach but up a hill with stunning views over Chaweng. It is not in the centre of Chaweng, which I think is a bonus as living in the centre, I fell, would be too much as it is very busy. We hired mopeds which are cheap and they served us fine. The hotel is not large, but the rooms are fantastic, we stayed in the 2 bed 2 bath ground floor villa. Four of us shared this villa and it didn’t fell cramped. The hotels manager was English and made us feel very welcome, always spent time talking to us and recommending things to do, even gave us a lift to the airport for free. Would recommend this hotel to anyone, I am going back next year and Chaweng Bayview Resort is the place I will be staying."
Daniela stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2005-07-27 and said, "Das Hotel hat uns sehr enttäuscht.
Tommy stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2005-06-30 and said, "We loved our stay at Chaweng Bayview and can recommend it to everyone! The only downside is that it is quite a walk (but there are taxis everywhere) to the shoppingarea and beach. The room was great with a nice bathroom and jacuzzi. The view from our room was outstanding. Very nice staff and the food was ok. The pool by the restaurant was very nice and it felt good to swim in freshwater after 2 weeks at the beach."
Edwin stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2005-04-22 and said, "Loved the room! Very private and the outdoor spa tub was really nice after a hot day. Location wasn t great, but rides into town take 5-10 minutes and cost very little. The great view, personal space and high quality room make this a great value...we would definitely stay here again."
Stephen stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2005-04-10 and said, "Friendly staff, good clean room, great pool -- far enough away to be quiet but still close enough to the main strip"
Avril stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2005-04-07 and said, "Accomodation with jacussi was very nice. Pool area & Views were really good as was the breakfast. Transportation to airport and into Chaweng was first class and very reasonable. It was good value. The only negative was the VERY VERY steep hill up to the pool from the room."
Jon stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2005-04-05 and said, "2nd time we ve stayed here and again no problems at all... food has improved since last time and the staff are friendly and helpful.. Would recommend anyone to stay here, who’s looking for the quieter end of Chaweng and doesn’t mind a ‘shortwalk to the beach
Brenda stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2005-03-25 and said, "This resort is north of the main town but near enough to walk although the roads are a bit dangerous. the resort is lovely with a lovely poolside and restaurant area with great views of the bay. Be aware though of the steep hill leading up to pool and restaurant area. it s not designed for the unfit! overall I would recommend this resort. the Bungalows are great and the staff nice"
Jessica stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2005-03-23 and said, "A good all around hotel for the price. We wouldn t stay there again because we would like something with better access/closer to the beach. Resort says you can access the beach through Nora resort (which you can), but at certain tides you can t walk along the beach from Nora to main Chaweng Beach. Also, beach isn t as nice. Taxis are cheap enough (100 baht), but we would have preferred the beach and restaurants to be within walking distance."
Geoff stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2005-03-21 and said, "Chaweng Bayview Resort is at the very north end of Chaweng on the inland side of the main road. Although this means that it doesn t have beach access it does mean that their isn t the feeling of claustrophia that you can feel from being on the strip and it also benefits from fantastic views over the bay. We stayed in a Villa with jacuzzi which was lovely and very spacious. The grounds are very well tended and the pool area is lovely. The breakfast was a bit of a disappointment though. On the whole I would reccommend this resort if you are staying in Chaweng. Small, cosy and worth the money."
Jann stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2005-03-02 and said, "Great room with sea view (not all have this view however) but the climb to the room can be a bit challenging especially if you re tired or have had a drink! Friendly staff and slightly out of the main scene if you want something a little quieter. Be careful with the water - they provide 2 bottles, one is complimentary, the other costs you so take note which bottles you drink from."
Kristin stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2005-02-23 and said, "A very nice resort, with spacious, clean villas. The staff was very attentive and organized, and the pool area was gorgeous."
Karina stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2005-02-17 and said, "What an amazing place. We had the matlang and the view was just out of this world.Room very spacious clean and modern. The staff are v v friendly and nothing is too much to ask. The whole resort is the cleanist we have seen and the pool overlooks the ocean which just takes your breath away. We can not say enough good things about this resort. The hill is a bit steep and took us a week to master it. Walk from side to side and it seems easier or when we had a drink we sang abba! worked a treat we was up it in no time.we had a very pleasant and happy stay one we will not forget about in a hurry!"
Priya stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2005-02-17 and said, "We chose the Chaweng Bayview Resort, from a host of accomodation options listed on Sawadee. And we re glad for the choice we made. Having been to Samui and seen th others that we were evaluating, it was evident that Chaweng Bay View was clearly the best. Great location, good food and comfortable living helped us have a great holiday! THe staff were were hospitable and helpful, giving us invaluable tips on the beaches and things to do each day.If we were to visit Samui ever again, we d definitely go back to Chaweng Bay View!"
Anita stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2005-02-13 and said, "Perfect for couples who prefer quietness and comfort! Nice, spacious villas with big balconies:)) Had a complain on the cleaning, but must give credit to the resort on how they treat it! The manager really knew how to satisfy his guests. Else, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool-area was gorgous, but people having problems walking should not choose this resort (due to real steep hills!!). We would like to come back!!"
Fabrice stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2005-02-06 and said, "I thought it is a bit expensive for what it offers. We chose the Villa with Jacuzzi, but was not really impressed by it. Probably the location of the villa at the extreme end of the resort (next to staff quarters)is not the best one to have. It is quite far from Chaweng centre and its restaurant and it is not really advised for families with young kids. The breakfast is ok but repetitive (no buffet style and limited choice available). The other food proposed by the restaurant is just average and the hygiene is bit suspicious ...you have to fight with the flies during your lunch or breakfast. Overall i would not recommend it since it gives you a feel or a middle low end kind of resort with quite high price.I would not mind to pay extra next time to get something closer to Chaweng centre and a bit more high end."
Germany26 stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2005-01-20 and said, "Very good value for money because of the resort is not located near the beach and is a bit remote from the main Chaweng street. The shuttles to the main street were not cost-free (as indicated on the web site) but cost us 50 Baht per person, which is half of what taxis would take. We stayed in a Matlang with Jakuzzi, we found the jacuzzi to be an unecessary add-on, though, since it was located outside on the terrace and not directly in the room and there came no warm water in it. We used the pool instead, because it was sunnier. Internet access was all dial-up and it cost us 2 Baht per minute, which was expensive compared to the 1 Baht per minute for wireless/broadband internet on the main steet internet shops. There were no fitness facilities, which made it difficult to do any sport with the warm whether. The beds were not the best I have experienced, the air conditionning was a bit loud and would stop once the key is removed (meaning you couldn t go back home and find your room nice and cool) and the retaurant was nothing great.Apart from these negative points the resort is lovely with bayview rooms and has a great pool.I have visited other resorts during my stay (not seen the room, just the front, beach area, restaurant and pool) and found the following to be very good alternatives (from the least central to most cental):Nora Beach ResortBaan Haad Ngam ResortChaweng Regent ResortCoral Bay ResortChaweng Blue LagoonAmari Beach ResortChaba CabanaCentral Samui ResortIf you chose one of the most central resort (Chaba, Coral, Central samui), make sure you get a room not too near the street)I have also visited other beaches, Lamai beach further south and the south beaches. Those are very nice alternatives if you want to avoid the buzzing main area, but you can easily get there using a taxi during your stay in chaweng. Finally on Samui itself. It is a great place with varied vacation opportunities: elephant trekking, diving, jungle, waterfalls, very good restaurants and of course beach. You will come back with great pictures because the landscapes themselves are great."
Jean-Marc stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2005-01-18 and said, "Breathtaking views of the Ocean. Quiet, clean, comfortable, great service and very nice pool. Only one downside: to reach the beach from this location, you must go all the way down the hill, cross the road and go through Nora Beach Resort (make sure it s low tide or there s no beach at all)...it s a lot simpler to rent a jeep or motorbike and head to Chaweng Centre."
Francis stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2004-11-08 and said, "fantastic place to stay, never mind the walks up th hill. the views more than make it worthwile. the place is very clean, the staff are more than accomodating and friendly. could not have wished to have stayed anywhere nicer. and recommend to anybody looking to stay in or near chaweng."
Darcy stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2004-10-28 and said, "The whole experience was fantastic. The service was great, the facility awesome. It is a ways away from the main area of Chaweng, but that is a positive thing. The only thing that would have made it better, would be if it was a beach resort. *****Highly recommend this Resort."
Jamie stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2004-09-01 and said, "Based in the northern part of chaweng beach, the chaweng bayview resort is in a quiet enough location yet still close enough to the action should you desire it. Staying in a villa with a sea view, I found the accomodation very comfortable, clean, and modern. the staff are both friendly and helpful and I would recommend this place for both couples and families alike. If you are looking for something a bit livelier catering for a younger crowd then try family bungalows (also in Chaweng)recently refurbished, they have modern clean rooms ranging from single, right through to family size, with an excellent bar and restaurant."
Fiona stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2004-08-02 and said, "We enjoyed our stay at Chaweng Bayview Resort very much. We had a villa with outdoor jacuzzi, it was really nice. Hotel staff was very friendly and so helpful. Breakfast was lovely. Pool overlooking sea was great! Hotel very quiet, clean, and relaxing! Approx 5mins drive to main Chaweng centre for shops, restaurents etc!! Would have liked if beach was a bit nearer! Only 10mins away from airport! Would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in good hotel accomodation."
Daniel stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2004-06-01 and said, "This is a very good resort, we have been holidaying in Thailand for over 10 years and this hotel is very good value for money, with very big rooms and a superb view from the swimming pool which by the way is very clean. The resort is situated on quite a steep hill that can be a struggle after a few beers, but this is a small price to pay for such good accomodation, so good that we are staying there at again at Xmas."
Helen stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2004-05-19 and said, "Beautiful holiday and the people working there were the best"
Paul stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2004-03-28 and said, "Chaweng Beach Resort is a fabulous place to stay. We booked the top floor of a samrong house and it was a huge two bedroomed apartment with living room and outdoor kitchen. Everything was spotlessly clean and the staff are great. The gardens and the pool are kept beautiful and the view over the bay to matlang island is fabulous. This hotel is just north of Chaweng so you get peace and quiet but you are only a 5 minute drive into central Chaweng for night life. We loved every minute of our stay here and would definately come back."
Simon stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2004-02-16 and said, "We had a fantastic time in Chaweng Bay View hotel. The staffs were so friendly and the villas are so nice and clean. View from the pool was fantastic. A bit of a hike to get to the room or restaurant though. We would definately go back there if we ever go back to Samui."
Upala stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2003-12-30 and said, "We had the most incredible experience, staying at the Chaweng Bayview Resort. My husband an I stayed at the resort for 6 nights starting 30th December 2003 and we stayed at one of their unique circular-shaped villas. The resort is very beautifully situated on the cliffs overlooking the Chaweng Bay and all the bunglows offer a view of the sea. The pool overlooking the sea was one of the most beautiful pools I have ever seen anywhere. The bunglows are beautifully decorated and very clean and the entire resort has a very tropical and exotic feel to it. The beach is across the resort via crossing the road. I highly recommend the Chaweng Bayview resort to anyone who gos to Koh Samui and we would most certainly go there again when we visit Samui."
Upala stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2003-12-30 and said, "My husband and I stayed at the Chaweng Bayview Resort for 6 nights starting 30th December 2003. We had an incredibly amazing time at this most beautiful resort. The unique circular villa that we stayed in was perfect and the pool overlooking Chaweng Bay was really beautifully situated. The tropical gardens were well kept and the staff were very helpful. We will certainly go back and recommend this lovely resort to anyone who visits Koh Samui."
Kurt stayed at Chaweng Bayview Resort on 2003-12-26 and said, "The Hotel is very well maintained and the staff are extraodinarly helpful. I was, however, dissapointed that the hotel was not closer to the beach. The advertisment should be made more clear with regards to beach proximity."
