Geoff stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2008-07-01 and said, "We were very happy with the hotel, the rooms (we had two) were clean and well serviced. The staff are extremely friendly and very willing to be of service. We ate at the hotel most nights and the food was good value. The pool was clean and there were enough sun beds for all those who wished to be there. The only complaint would be directed at the number of Jetskis on Chaweng Beach, which we thought was an negative for the area, but of course the hotel has not say over this. We would recommend this resort to any one who is looking for a reasonble hotel on the beach in a good price bracket, there are fancier looking places, but at a lot more money."
Francis stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2008-04-30 and said, "We stayed at the Banana Fan for two nights and it was excellent value for money. Great location, good pool and breakfast. The staff were excellent and the level of service was of a high standard. We stayed at 5 star resort after banana fan and we were disappointed as their service was poor in comparison to Banana fan. We tried to book back in upon our return and unfortunately it was fully booked. I would recommend this to anyone who wanted good value for money."
Fotini stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2008-01-29 and said, "This resort by far exceeded out expectations. On arrival you are truly greeted by what looks like a 5 star resort (but rated only 3). the staff are friendly and cater to your every request. the rooms are imaculate with supersized king beds. the breakfast is delicious, and the pool perfectly clean. the location is perfect with a 5 min walk into the hub of chaweng road. I would definetely stay here again without hesitation. truly a five star experience. Thankyou Banana Fan Sea for a perfect vacation."
charles stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2008-01-28 and said, "we stayed at the hotel for 7 nights - we booked a beachfront villa - it was exceptional - literally right on the beach and with wonderful views of the gulf of Siam as promised by the hotel. the villa itself was very tastfully decorated in traditional Thai style and was quite large. we would highly recommend these beachfront rooms if you are after a fantastic view of the sea.the hotel staff were very helpful at all times. the restaraunt and other facilities were also fine - but we dined at 2 nearby restaraunts that are well worth visiting - Poppies 15 mins down the beach and Eat Sense which was right next door to the hotel - great Thai food.we would definitely stay at the banana fan sea hotel againcarlos and kirsty"
Gary stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2008-01-28 and said, "I have traveled a lot and this place was excellent. Great location for beach and for downtown ,great beach, nice staff, peaceful. I would stay there again"
Thomas stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2008-01-18 and said, "We recommend this hotell to anyone. It was peaseful, and a very efficient, polite and co-operative staff. And there where guards in the area at all times. Rooms, pools and garden area was nice and clean. We where 8 people travelling together. Grandparents, children and grand children. We all enjoyed the hotell very much! BUT, there was big waves on the beach everday! To big for the children to go in the sea! (there where a red flag on beach everyday, but one out of 23) Also do not use the travel agency in the reception. The trip they vere supposed to organice for us did not suceed. The car never showed up to pick us up... But ask for Mr. Dom to organice trip around the Island."
Mr stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2007-12-20 and said, "I have just spent 2 weeks at Banan Fan Sea with my family and friends and must comment for future travellers that we had a wonderful break there. The accommodation was good and the staff most courteous and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. This was our second time in Koh Samui and staying at Banana Fan was the best thing we did."
Gianluca stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2007-09-24 and said, "Magnifico !"
S stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2007-09-21 and said, "Got upgraded to superior garden view, rooms baseic & comfortable, highly recomended for travellers, great food, very friendly staff & great location"
Judy stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2007-09-17 and said, "This hotel is adequate and the service level is okay. Our party occupied two rooms--one of which was just three steps from the lobby. In this room, you could hear all the lobby traffic. The rooms need some updating. If you can get a room at Buri Rasa Village, stay there. We enjoyed our rooms and the service at that hotel far more."
Richard stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2007-09-13 and said, "Terrific Resort. Clean...friendly staff...overall a relaxing place to stay. Will stay there again. The massage service on the beach was a bonus...at THB200 per hour! Great value. Good beach location. Food quality was ok...could be better. They have this silly system of only one key per room...so dificult when you are a couple...need to get staff to open room all the time, if your partner has the room key. Could improve there. Overall impression...fantastic and will stay there the next time in Koh Samui."
BOEUF stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2007-08-10 and said, "very nice hotel; with pleasant staff.Location on Chawaeng beeach is perfect. Pool is nice as well as the beach. Staff is helpful and is providing all your orders on the beach or on the pool. A lot of efforts done everyday to organise dinners with themes (thai, all you can eat, italian etc). Good breakfast with large choice (croissants, muffins, waffles, etc). Nice hotel, but the room fare is a little bit too expensive for what you get although again the location and the bach is stunning."
Anthony stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2007-08-09 and said, "Great room, pool and facilities. Good food and nightly entertainment.Very friendly, smiling and helpfull staff. A wonderful resort in a beautiful location."
Stephanie stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2007-05-03 and said, "This hotel is absolutely fabulous. Location is great as it is on the beach and the main road. The facilities and rooms are beautiful with the best breakfast set up i have ever seen. To add to the experience all of the staff made our stay incredible. Thanks top BananaFan sea resort for a fantastic holiday."
Dennis stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2007-05-02 and said, "From the moment we arrived up until the time we left, the standard of the service was EXCELLENT. We will definitely stay there on our next visit.P.S. A special mention goes out to one of the waiters DOM . He made our stay even more enjoyable."
Alan stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2007-04-21 and said, "Overall the Banana Fan Sea resort is OK although the photos make it look much better than it is. The resort is long over due for refurbishment.Dryer did not work in bathroom. Staff are very unfriendly and resent any inquiry. The pool staff miss out on great opportunities. Not once did the come around with menus offering drinks or food. The breakfast was good and fresh with plenty to choose from. The rooms were kept clean.Just very out dated and poor service, staff are not aware of what makes a good experience for seasoned travelers. Staff verge on being rude especially front desk.I found it a 3 star experience and was expecting much more"
Andreas stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2007-03-31 and said, "Stayed 7 days in the beach front suite. The suite was very comfortable and we loved most the additional outdoor bed with a fantastic sea view. The pool was nice for kids, breakfast was rich and tasty but to get a good place in the breakfast area you need to come early or wait for a good place. The hotel is located on Koh Samui s crowded Chaweng Beach. It is definatley a very pictures sandy beach but if you are looking for a lonesome beach without dozens of jet skis other places are better."
Sarah stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2007-03-28 and said, "We loved our hotel! It was such a beautiful clean room (much bigger than others for the same price) and the staff were very friendly and always quick to help us with any problem. The location is perfect, and the breakfast was wonderful!!! Lots of chairs around the beach and pool! We will definately go back!!"
Eoin stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2007-03-21 and said, "I would have no problem recomending the banana fan sea to anyone else. I stayed in two five star hotels prior to my stay at BFS and BFS was comparable in quality location and service. The superior room is well equiped cool, and quiet at night. Also the location is excellent in that it is close enough to the boisterious chaweng strip but also close to some of the more pleasant bars and restuarants such as eat sense, betelnut and the green olive. There are certainly cheaper places to stay in Chaweng but based on my experience you get what you pay for. I tried to stay an addiional night at BFS but the place was booked up and I ended up staying down the road at the awful chaweng buri resort for my extra night which cost alsmost as much but was a complete rip of when compared to BFS."
J stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2007-03-16 and said, "This hotel was great. This is the 3rd place we have stayed in Samui and was definately the best. The staff were great and friendly, they would even make my wifes late coffee how she wanted it for breakfast before she asked. The room was just what we wanted, it was always nice and clean and had no problems with it.It had a good range of channels on tv for the morning it was really raining hard and we didnt go out..We could even use wireless internet in there.Good location and we had a great time.We will be back to stay there next time for sure."
Len stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2007-03-13 and said, "My family and I celebrated my 50th Birthday at the Banana Fansea, wew had a fabulous time. The Breakfast is superb, pancakes, waffles, asian food, bacon eggs, juices ect ect. The rooms were wonderful, huge bureas with a big and clean bathroom, individul Airconditioner in each suite, which is excellent. Beautiful Resort right on the Beach !!!!! The happy Hr is fantastic, great music, staff were wonderful, very attentive and gave us extra nuts with our drinks. Food is unbelievable, the restaurant is great and the Buffets are excellent. You can walk right along the beach day or night and its all happening and very relaxed with bars and food stalls all along the Beach.Definatley the nicest Resort, I looked at them all and swam in everyones pool. The Blue Lagoon is also a great Resort, a little further along, the beach is not as nice though. The Banana fansea s beach is clean and swimmable without any rubbish on the beach or in the water."
Peder stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2007-02-19 and said, "Very nice hotel and friendly staff. Good relaxed atmosphere. Restaurant excellent and area-beach beuatifull and friendly to children. We all enjoyed our days at Banana Fan very much.However.....and this has nothing to do with Banana Fan who indeed did an effort to keep the beaches clean. We were amazed by how fast the beaches became dirty during the day...how come it is so difficult to use ashtrays for cigaret buds ? or bring your own can s, papers etc. to a more suitable place than on the beach....If this continues surely silly tourists will destroy the otherwise beautifull beaches of koh samui !"
Sarah stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2007-02-17 and said, "We stayed in one of the Deluxe Bungalows. Overall this hotel was very good. Not the most luxurious hotel around, but definitely a great value for the money. The poolside areas look a bit older than it does in the photos but the rooms are still very nice and always clean, grounds are well manicured. The service was very good, particularly at the reception, housekeeping and the gardeners were great! Very polite always. Reception was very helpful with finding us a temporary room to stay in when we arrived too early to check in and had a flight that was late in the evening long after check out time. When we stayed here the hotel had quite a few children around, families and older guests. Not a place to go if you want a party or younger crowd, but very relaxing and quiet, even with the kids. Great massage place right on the beach and great margaritas from the hotel bar. The food at the poolside restaurant is also good from the a la carte menu. For the buffet, it may be worth it to pay a bit more to go somewhere else though it is not bad. I d skip the Cabaret show on Saturdays. As we stayed 10 nights, we thought the breakfast buffet could have had a bit more variation but still not bad. On a quieter end of Chaweng so it offers a good mix of shops, restaurants right outside without the noise and heavy traffic. Final suggestion would be for the hotel to put some screens on the door or windows so that you can let fresh air in the room without worry of mosquitoes. Overall, we had a very nice time and were happy with our decision to stay at Banana Fan."
Mrs stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2007-02-08 and said, "Banana Fan is a very nice resort-hotel,situated at the best part of the beach. Bungalows surrounded by tropical garden, palm trees and with a lovely atmosphere. Pool area with sea view and bungalows with spacious and clean rooms. Each roomhas a big veranda with nice furniture. All the staff were always veryhelpful and kind. Special thanks to the nice guy who always helped us withthe umbrella at the beach and served us cool Singha -always with a smile!Clean and nice beach. We walked along the entire beach, in both directions, and we felt that we really had booked the best place at Chaweng Beach.A special thanks for the beautiful birthday cake at my birthday."
Van stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2007-02-02 and said, "Was a bit dissapointed upon arrival, deluxe room not very big, bathroom looked old and weary, talked to reception and they fixed the bathroom as good as they could. Staff friendly and helpfull, well located at south end off central chaweng, nice breakfast. not possible to swim in the area off chaweng, dangerously high waves this time off year!"
Ira stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2007-02-02 and said, "an amazing hotel.very clean, larg room.staff is outstanding.tour desk very efficient and helpfull.every thing is within walking distance.the beach is very clean but the sea this time of year is very high.if you go up north along chaweng beach you can find hotels with a lagoon-like beaches.but if you dont mind the sea-this is the best hotel to stay in."
Jami stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2007-01-30 and said, "Had a fabulous time. Duluxe bungalow very comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back."
wendy stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2007-01-20 and said, "Stayed in room 323 which unfortunately is built over a swamp I am sure as we were biten alive. Bring bug spray and coils!!!!!!!! At first we thought it was bed bugs as both my husband and I were covered and contacted the management and they came and fumigated and offered us another room for the night which we took till they changed the bed etc We discovered it was actually mosquitos coming out of the cupboard floors, no one else at the resort had this problem so avoid this room even though it was near pool. The manager compensated by offering us a meal for two at the restaurant and a credit for the night as the room they gave us was on the road, avoid 500 block as well. Having said all that we enjoyed ourselves once this got sorted out, staff friendly enough and the rooms and pool very clean. Restaurant food very good. We would stay here again. One other thing should be noted is that the nightlife is virtually non existant. No music at bar in the evenings, the place shuts down at 800pm...and not only here but at all resorts this end of beach. We are 50 and it was even too quiet for us could use a little bit ambiance in the evening."
Mr stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2006-12-30 and said, "The Banana Fan Sea was a lovely resort on the best part of Chaweng beach. The staff were fun and made you feel very welcome. The deluxe rooms were a good size and maintained to a high standard. On our many walks down the Chaweng beach there was not many resorts that compared to the Banana Fan. The prices for both food and drinks were also reasonable.A thoroughly enjoyable experience and I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone. Many thanks to all the staff"
Peggy stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2006-12-29 and said, "We loved staying at the Banana Fan! At first we were overwhelmed by the hecticness of Chaweng Beach, but as soon as we pulled up to the Banana Fan, we knew that we had booked a great retreat from all of that craziness. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, and the waterfall and koy ponds make for a pleasant ambience. The pool is beautiful and sparkling clean. The rooms were clean and spacious (we had three people in our room and never felt cramped). The staff was friendly and accomodating. We stayed at the hotel during New Years--the party was great--a huge buffet. We even got to light those pretty lanterns and released them into the sky! We definitely recommend it!"
MIKE stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2006-12-12 and said, "What a wonderful holiday!! Excellent accommodation, friendly staff and beautiful gardens. Highly recommended - we would love to come back - thank you!!"
Samantha stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2006-12-05 and said, "Accommodation good, although room a little small. Staff very friendly and helpful. Pleasant surroundings and good beach access. An easy walk to the centre of Chaweng. Would stay again."
Enrico stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2006-08-18 and said, "Very nice resort located on the best area of Chaweng beach. People are friendly and very kind always ready to be of assistance. We would only recommend a careful room make up planning as precedence is given to check-out rooms (we were told. Consequently the room maid arrived between 2 - 3 p.m. Apart from this little inconvenience everything was perfect. We will come back again."
Keith stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2006-07-02 and said, "The hotel was beautiful. Located at the Lamai end of Chaweng Beach, it is in the cleaner and quieter area whilst still being just a short walk from the centre of the town. The staff were courteous and helpful, the rooms were clean and had all the necessary mod cons, the pool and beach areas were comfortable, spacious and had a good service from the pool and restaurant staff."
Bruno stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2006-06-13 and said, "We have staied 10 days at banana Fan samui in the two bedrooms villas near the beach. The location was excellent, the view wonderful. i think only this hotel offers this location. About service and housekeeping i think it was not at the level who can have in a 4 stars hotel. perpetually we had to claim about the basics service. More friendly attitude should be otain from some staff. In brief, good location, services providen not very good."
Sharon stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2006-05-20 and said, "Hotel was lovely. We had a beach front villa and it was fantastic to walk up and look straight at the beach. There are only 4 beach front villas - so book early. There are only KING size beds in the beach front villa s, so if you are 2 girls you will have to share the bed, but that s OK when you have the view you get. The staff were great, always friendly and helpful. Lots of beach activities, and the massages at the hotel on the beach are wonderful, we had one everyday. Pool is great, breakfast plentiful and nice. Everything was clean. Everything we asked for, we got. Restaurant/poolside music got a bit monotonous as they only have 3 cd s. I would book this hotel again."
Kayte stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2006-05-10 and said, "This place is beautiful and exactly where you want to be in Chewang beach, close to everything. Our room was close to the reception area but we didn t get disturbed. The ladies at the travel agency there are nice but I found that the reception staff were not as friendly. I would go back for sure"
Gary stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2006-05-10 and said, "I m a Bananna Fan fan. Nice free breakfast each morning, swimming area and nice beach and pool right there for you. Cute little outdoor bar and grill by the sand and pool with 2 for 1 drinks from 3-7 each day! The Air Conditioner in the room was a bit under powered, but I worked around that and ran it most of the time to keep the room cool (the condensation on the outside of the doorknob gave me away). I was in a room on the side of the hotel where the staff were situated and didn t even hear a peep in the mornings or evenings. Nice friendly staff, very pleasant and helpful. My wireless centrino chip worked from my room with the card you bought from the front desk so I could keep in touch with hell while lounging in paradise. I ll stay there again for sure. Not sure if my booking was for double occupancy or not but when I checked in, they informed me it was 800 baht for an extra guest though. Of course when I did come in late nobody would have known because the night guy was passed out cold at the desk. They are so cute when they sleep!"
Eddy stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2006-04-03 and said, "We were very very pleased with the Banana Fan Sea Resort in all ways. It´s a very nice Resort with nice and friendly staff, clean rooms and surroundings and very good food/restaurant. The Resort have the very best beach location on Chaweng. We are perfectly satisfied with our stay at Banana Fan Sea Resort. If You are looking for the ultimate Resort at Chaweng beach choose Banana Fan!!Eddy Ericson and Gunilla Adell."
Leif stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2006-03-26 and said, "We had a excellent stay at the hotel apart from the last day. I talked to the reception three days before departure and asked to keep the room until 1500 hrs the day we should leave.I got a confirmation on that the day before departure and thought everything was ok. BUT, the last evening returning to the hotel around 11 pm I was told that I could not keep the room until 3 pm because a new reservation had come up.I then argued and said that there was no way I could give up the room before 3 pm as I had made plans for the day.I was then told that it was OK, but to get an information like that late at night sort of spoiled my evening. Before booking the room I read all the comments from previous customers and noted that there were comments regarding cupboard space. We had the same problem. No place to put away various articles of clothing and if the hotel do not react to customers comments; then what is the meaning of having a service like this???Also I like to comment on the payment of the hotel. Banana Fan must be one of the few hotels that requires full payment of the hotel before arriving.A practise like that I find difficult to understand!!Eva & Leif RorvikTorrevieja, Spain"
Mr stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2006-03-14 and said, "If you want relaxation, good food, and hassle free service, then this is the place. The bungalow we stayed in was of a good standard although as previously mentioned, there is little space for your clothes, but don’t let this put you off. The meals served are mostly cooked fresh in front of you to your liking, with good nightly entertainment. The Banana Fan is located towards the quieter end of the beach but it s only a five minute journey to the pubs & clubs. The pool and beach area are well maintained with the beach being probably one of cleanest areas along the coast of Chaweng Beach. The Banana Fan staff were very friendly and helpful with all of our requests. One of the best things we enjoyed was the Thai massage available right next to where we were lying on the beach. This was very relaxing after a day on the beach. If you want somewhere to relax then look no further than the Banana Fan. If you go anywhere else, you ll regret it."
Maria stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2006-03-11 and said, "Our higest recemondation. The best place on Chaweng beach because of the clean beach. There was a lot of garbage lying around elsewhere. Also because of the great staff our beateful bungalow, right by the beach, and the nice garden/poolarea."
SLC stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2006-02-18 and said, "This is a lovely place. Very clean. the bathrooms are gorgeous. Just make sure if you are staying in a superior bunglow you don t get room #503. It is right next to the reception desk and all night long I was kept awake by the printer running and the phone ringing. They were nice enough to move me the next day."
chen stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2006-01-31 and said, "we enjoy very much our stay in Banana Fan. Comparing with Changwen Regent which we ocupied later aferwards, we certainly prefer a lot more the Banana Fan. With the same price we paid for a Beach front delux in Banana Fan, we only got a downstair building room in Regent, and with strong smell. In fact, almost all rooms or bungalows of Regent are with strong smell.(because of the smell we asked for changing rooms so we have chance to visit another 3, and the results are the same.) I guess it s because the hotel is too old. So sorry that Banana Fan was previously fully booked on the last two days of our stay in Samui so we have to change the hotel. We will definitely come back to Banana Fan. And we strongly recommend a Beach Front Villa."
Motoko stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2006-01-02 and said, "Stayed in Executive Suits for 3 weeks. Excellent room, facility&proximity to the beach, but shockingly unefficient&unfriendly service both at resto and room. Not recommended for those who know what a high class hotel should be like."
Paul stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2005-12-31 and said, "Great location, last stayed at central samui resort which was obviously a superior hotel but the banana fan was great for the price, friendly staff and nice pool.Only criticism is that there is not enough wardrobe space for three people, but the deluxe bungalows were big enough for three. Best end of chewang beach and would stay here again"
Louise stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2005-12-30 and said, "Hotel was definately the best on Chawang Beach. The hotel lobby, grounds of the hotel were really nice as well as the staff. Good location in Chawang couldnt hear any noise but within walking distance of all bars/clubs/shopping. The room didnt have much cupboard space and did smell a bit damp. The sheets were changed everyday but they didnt clean the bathroom for 2 weeks as the fresh flowers that were there on our first day were still there when we left (they had actually died 2nd day of being there and were in the soap dish and smelt). The menu could improve in the resturant as it was very limited but there are plenty of other places to go to either on the high street or along the beach front. If you are thinking of doing any of the excursions then be warned that all the trips that we did were nothing that they said they would be, and I wouldnt really recommend you booking them. I would stay at this hotel again as it was very pleasant and I would recommened it to my friends"
Dave stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2005-12-20 and said, "Absolutely wonderful hotel and atmosphere. We stayed in a Superior Bungalow double room just outside the open-air lobby. The grounds were beautifully manicured and the pool was wonderful. The breakfast buffet was excellent. We were there for the Christmas-Eve Gala into which the hotel put a tremendous amount of effort. It was beautifully decorated and the food was excellent. A couple guests on the review board have complained about water temperature; the only problem we had was fluctuating water pressure. Not a big deal at all.If we come back to Koh Samui, we will absolutely stay at Banana Fan."
Felchner stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2005-12-06 and said, "Nice and smooth.. thats what I would say about the ban fan.. That was the reason, why I came back. I first came in 2001 and I only can recomend it. The rooms are quiet good equiped and clean. If you are good in playing your charme at the desk, you also can get a beachapartment for almost no extra charge. The food and breakfast is ok if you don t expect any quisine. Whenever I m staying in chaweng I would stay at the banana !!!"
Raylynne stayed at Banana Fan Sea Samui on 2005-11-13 and said, "The resort was great. Located at the nicest and least noisy end of Chaweng beach. The rooms are great - try to avoid superior rooms as they are located closest to the road and can be noisy. No issues with the staff. All in all a great place to relax."
