Lieve stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2008-05-27 and said, "Wonderful! Great location as everything is a short walk (if you enjoy 5-15 minute walks), and the beach is just across the street! Clean, comely, and relatively spacious rooms in a beautiful and surprisingly peaceful setting, with highly attentive service."
Sarah stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2008-05-04 and said, "Absolute bargin for the price! Had a room with a/c, mini bar and TV it was clean and had fresh towels every day. Was also quite as off the main strip and the staff were really friendly and helpful. It s only about a 10 min walk to the nicer beach and bars which is quite nice as clears your head before going to bed! Also recommend going diving to sail rock, I went with Infinity Dive who were well organised and Academy dive looked quite well organised as well! The Ark Bar plays good music and the food is quite good as well!"
lucy stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2008-04-12 and said, "really nice place, the staff couldnt do enough to help us out making numerous phone calls on our behalf for the next stage of our journey - really refreshing to have someone else care so much. Good location quick walk to the beach although walk a bit further for a better beach location, really good overall."
Joy stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2008-04-11 and said, "A small, quiet hotel across the street from the beach. The rooms are clean, but be prepared for some hot nights - only one low-power fan per room and not much breeze through the windows - but otherwise a great stay."

Darragh stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2008-02-16 and said, "Great spot really enjoyed my stay here room was basic but clean. some construction work going on next door only a problem if your sleeping all day, was close to all the major spots but far enough away to be quiet in the evenings and away from the hustle of the town. 2minutes to the beach walking staff were great would recommend"
ZHANG stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2008-02-05 and said, "Good cleaning and quite room, bad and expensive breakfast, nice staff, a little far to centre of Chaweng Beach (more ten miniutes walk)"
E. stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2008-01-27 and said, "At first when we checked in everything was ok. Nice and polite service from the staff. Since we have paid one night on the web and booked 2 more we asked & explained that we wanted to look at the room and the surroundings if we wanted another hotel. This was OK accordning to the staff. Well, a first glance at the room and the smell of mold hit us hard. The stench was unbearable but tired after the trip from BBK to Samui we slept 3 hours and when we woke up we both felt nauseous. We explained that we wanted to change hotels and by this time another staffmember worked in the reception. She wanted 1100 Baht * 2 for the nights that we booked. We then politely explained that we check in at 10 AM in the morning the same day and had already agreed with other staffmembers that we could check out if we wanted. NO, she wanted 2200 BAHT and that s what we did. After this they wanted to check the room and we were not given back our passports until we paid 10 BAHT for a waterbottle from the fridge. Talk about an unreasonable behaviour. STAY AWAY FROM this place. To add is that we stayed at several places in Thailand and this is the only place we have been treated like this."
Carolyn stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2008-01-15 and said, "Excellent value for money in a quiet location. Helpful and very friendly staff. We stayed in an air conditioned cottage which was worth the extra. We have stayed there before and the cheaper rooms are still fine. Clean with nice well maintained gardens. About 20 mins walk to shops bars and resturants. Transport readily available if you don t want to walk. Access to the beach just across the road. Highly recommended"
Alexandra stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2008-01-09 and said, "I stayed in the double fan room for 5 nights. It was very clean, and the staff very friendly. It is in a very good location - being only 5 minutes from the beach and a 10 minute walk from the shops of Chaweng beach. I would definitely recommend it."
Lin stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2008-01-08 and said, "The room is sweet and the garden makes us feel home."
Lena stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2007-12-28 and said, "I stayed in the bungalows with AC for 1900/night with two other people and loved it. Cable TV, mini bar, king size bed and CLEAN. That last one s a big deal because that s hard to find. I also stayed in their fan bungalow after my friends left and found it to be just fine. The staff is friendly and the food there is delicious and CHEAP! It s about a ten minute walk from the beach; it s close enough to the action and far enough away from the noise."
Hannah stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2007-12-26 and said, "very nice bungalows and extremely friendly (and memorable) staff! haha.. if you go there, you will know exactly who i am talking about. the room was very clean with a powerful air conditioner (i think i even caught a cold), and the bathroom was very large with a good supply of hot water. the food at baan rom mai was really good and cheap! i recommend the shakes! the location was ideal for us since we wanted peace and quiet at night. it s a few blocks down from the main chaweng area, but easily walkable.. and the beach is right across the beach! the taxi service to the airport was a rip off though (400 baht for a 6 minute drive!), and my boyfriend claimed to have seen a lizard on the bed, but i never saw it. would definitely stay here again!"
Katja stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2007-12-23 and said, "We had a bungalow whit AC which was really nice! The hotel is situated at Chaweng but is not in the centre. It takes about 15minutes to walk to the centre but you can also take a tuk tuk taxi for 50bath/person. In front of Baan rom mai is a parking/rest place for tuk tuk taxis so it is really easy to catch one from the hotel. It takes about ten minutes to walk to the beach. At first when we came to Baan rom mai we thought it was too far away from nightlife but after we had stayed here for a while we thought it was better this way.Hotel staff was wonderful, very helpful and always smiling=)The Bungalow was very clean and the A/C worked very well. If I ever go to Samui again I would stay in this hotel=)"
Klein stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2007-12-18 and said, "Very nice time at the resort. Absolutely frendly, kind and very clean. We are looking forward to visit you again!! Greetings from Germany"
Jill stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2007-12-02 and said, "2 girls,we loved it. Great location, staff amazingly helpful, happy and just plain wonderful. We loved every minute of our stay, and met others in the garden for socializing. So cheap and so good.ENJOY"
Janet stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2007-09-09 and said, "The hotel is very clean & peaceful. The price also reasonable. Only the weather is too hot and is advise to stay with air-cond.The reception also friendly and helpful."
Novella stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2007-08-19 and said, "BUNGALOW WAS VERY BEAUTIFULL, SPACIOUS AND SO CLEAN. GOOD MOTORBIKE FOR RENT.SO KIND RECEPTION.RECOMENDED!!!!!!!!!!"
paola stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2007-08-14 and said, "we booked for 7 nights and we just stayed 1 (pay attention, for the early check out they charge a night more!). The location is absolutely worse than we thought reading comments of other guests and the prices are not good value at all! we had been able to find a bungalow on the beach much more bigger than the room were we stayed (very small!!! and sad) in Baan Rom Mai and for the same price if not less!!anyway it s clean and the staff is nice."
Laura stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2007-07-18 and said, "I have stayed here twice now & I would definitely recommend it. Rooms are very clean & staff are very friendly & helpful. Only 5 min walk to centre of town & to the beach."
Panayiotis stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2007-07-15 and said, "Very nice place to spend a few days at. Get a bungalow as they are better than the other rooms with a great garden in front. The place surrounding the rooms is kind of shabby but it s such a reasonable price that you overlook this. It s literally a minute to the beach and 5 minutes (with a motorbike) to the center. Reception girl is very sweet and helpful. Would go again."
Laila.saidden stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2007-07-02 and said, "Hotel was great, staff was very unfriendly"
Jean stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2007-06-10 and said, "I stayed a week in this hotel. Staff were very friendly. It s only 2 minutes to a nice part of the beach. And only a 10 min walk(walknig very slowly!!) to central CHaweng(by road or beach). Really enjoyed it and would definitely stay there again."
Crystal stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2007-05-03 and said, "My husband and I loved this quiet homely hotel. Beautiful gardens surround the inn. Away from the noise of main street Chaweng, but only a 5 minute walk to town to all the action. Perfect! We d definitley stay there again."
Xuejing stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2007-05-02 and said, "very nice place. the staffs are very very kind, rooms are very clean, we enjoyed a wonderful time there, I recommend this place."
Hansa stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2007-04-09 and said, "The hotel was very good. The bungalow rooms were clean and the staff very friendly. As it was north of Chaweng Beach, it was a lot quieter which was a good thing at night especially for the children. I d stay there again if I ever visit Koh Samui again."
Isaak stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2007-04-09 and said, "A very basic place. Staff is friendly, though not really that helpful. IT is safe and clean, but there ARE better deals in Chaweng. For 600 baht, you can find air conditionting. Also, you do not need the hot water it so hot on the island, but they have very few rooms without it (100 baht cheaper) and wont give ou one when asked. Bottom line, ok, stay for a night or two and look elsewhere."
Cho stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2007-04-07 and said, "The bungalow I had, was very comfortable clean and quiet. The staff was very friendly and I really enjoyed staying there.I honestly can recommend this hotel and the only disadvantage was the long way to the beach (about 10 minutes by motorbike)."
Breda stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2007-03-07 and said, "Myself & a friend stayed here and we both said we would definitely go back. The accomadation was clean the peolpe were so friendly & helpful. The food (we are from Ireland) was great. It is only about a 5 min walk from the beach and the nite life. Great for those who want to go out or have a quiet nite. 5 stars definitely recommend."
Jennifer stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2007-02-28 and said, "I would totally recommend this accomodation for anyone travelling to the Chaweng area. We stayed there for 8 nights in and A/C room and found it ideal for those travelling on a budget. Fresh towels and linen were provided daily, the minibar (prices just as cheap as supermarkets and much cheaper than bars!) was restocked daily and free safety deposit facilities were provided. Compared to other budget accom in the area, this place was great. The staff were very friendly and helped with any request (and had two cute tiny dogs!) and all-in-all it was great value for money - and importantly clean and secure! It had an ideal location for sun-worshippers - the beach is just across the street! For nightlife, it was a bit of a walk - maybe ten minutes or so but if there is one thing Chaweng is not short of its taxis and we normally caught one back at night after one-too-many cocktails! I would definitely book this again if returning to the Chaweng area."
Sammy stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2007-02-28 and said, "It s ok, clean, quiet, not too far from Chaweng Centre, but there is not 24 hrs reception service."
esther stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2007-02-21 and said, "very clean, good value. Only problem is that Samui proved to be really hot, and the fan needs to be practically turned on all the time."
Tanja stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2006-12-05 and said, "This was such a great experience. The two girls who worked there are such great girls and they really make an effort to make your holiday special and comfortable."
S stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2006-11-17 and said, "It was a basic room with bed, fan and bathroom. Its basically what you pay for. The reception was nice though. Close to the airport. We only used it as a first night stay."
Huang stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2006-08-31 and said, "This is a good hotel, it s not large but warm. With friendly stuff and clean room. Their attitude is very nice and give us some recommend to choose dinner and SPA. And the eating and SPA experience are nice. It s near the Chaweng Beach, walking is very convenient or by bike. It s a good choice for backpaker."
Paul stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2006-08-28 and said, "Bungalow accomodation was excellent, nothing special but more than adequate. Only a couple of minutes from the beach and about 10 mins walk to the centre of Chaweng. The room was clean and the reception girl could not have been more helpful; very cheerful and chatty. Breakfast is available though not included in the price but again asking for it was no problem at all. If returning to Chaweng Baan Rom Mai would certainly be on my list of places to stay."
AlecK stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2006-08-12 and said, "The room is simply not good, small, no view from window, crap. I ve booked for 2 nights, but checked out after first. The stuff is friendly, but it is a better idea to pay a little more for a much nicer place."
Fabio stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2006-08-07 and said, "It s a cheap accomodation, clean but not so nice. Our bungalow was in a nice garden but the view was on a wall filled with air-con engines. No complain about the room, you get what you pay for. This site isn t on the beach but on the other side of the main road, it s a 300m walk tho go to the see but, in august, in the north part of chaweng there s a low tide problem, don t forget this.We spent only one night there then we decided to spend more but to be on the beach in a more comfortable place. It s a good location if you what to be in chaweng with few money."
LIU stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2006-08-05 and said, "It s quite nice for backpackers. If you just have a sleep in the night and do not care much, it s a wonderful choice, small but clean. And the loction is convenient. It s cost effective. Nice place."
karl stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2006-08-03 and said, "The hotel was clean and the staff was very helpfull. Had"
E.M. stayed at Baan Rom Mai on 2006-04-29 and said, "In general a good low budget hotel. You can t expect much as you are not paying a lot. The beach is not far, but if you want a nice beach you have to walk longer than five or ten minutes. The size of the biggest villa is o.k., there is enough space for the suitcases as there is a kitchen, which we used as shoe and storage room. The bathroom is small and has an open shower without a shower curtain. If you don t care about a wet toilet and having to move out the toilet paper and towels before you use the shower...The rooms are clean and in general quiet. Positive is also that the villas are not too close constructed. We were o.k. until one morning they started construction work and digged out the ground with the plants for a long drainage ditch without any notice. As we didn t want to spend our holidays on a construction area, we moved out earlier. It s not fair of the hotel management not to mention the construction work in their homepage as other hotels do. When they have finished their construction work in some weeks, I can recommend the hotel for people who don t expect much and who want to rent a motorbike to explore the whole island, for people who don t spend every day at the beach. If the beach is very important you should look for another hotel at the beach for more or less the same price."
