Jeffrey stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2008-07-06 and said, "Great location, our room was right on the beach. Overall, fairly clean. The bathroom had some ants and could have been a little cleaner but that was taken care of. Room was a bit small but a good deal for the price. Beautiful beach front."
Philippe stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2008-06-28 and said, "Wonderful location and great service. A real deluxe service for a reasonable price. Close to perfection."
Yngwie stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2008-06-23 and said, "Hotel is really nice and has a good location but you should check in for the deluxe rooms. They are really nice and have a good view. Facility is so nice but can t tell the same about the room service and the restaurant. Room service is not working after 10pm and if you need anything you can t get it. Restaurant personnel is so kind but not taking care of customers sometimes because taking care of empty tables while you are sitting there and waiting for service. So weird really. You should call them to order something. Breakfast is average and till 10:00 am but there was a chart in the front of the restaurant and it was written there breakfast ends at 10:30. I was really so confused in the beginning coz we were going for the breakfast at 10:15 regarding to the chart and can t find anything to eat sometimes. But it was not a problem because I can get my breakfast anyway :) By the way, Rim talay restaurant is so expensive if you do a comparison with the other facilities restaurants. You can try to eat the restaurants at the other beaches. Obviously, I have to say that you can get bored after 1 week if you are used to go out at nights for pubs and clubs. In conclusion, hotel is really nice but need some policy changes with the service policy.I also want to say someting with the Samet Island. Island is really nice and quiet. You can rest very well. Not much noise makers around. Most of the restaurants are cheap really. And you should rent a motorbike or ATV for the transportation. Motorbikes are so cheap, ATV s are expensive bur safer. Because island s roads are in very bad condition to use a motorbike, especially after the rain. There are few pharmacies and a small clinic but not enough for the population of the island and providing very limited service. Take care of yourself and try to not to get sick. Moreover, beware the mosquitos when you go out at nights. If you are looking for a place which is romantic and exotic, Samet Island is the exact place.I hope this comment will be helpful for the travellers think about to go to Samet."
Johan stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2008-06-19 and said, "We stayed in the deluxe cottage rooms, close to the pool. These rooms are much nicer then the ones facing the main beach. They were very nice and clean and they were cleaned twice a day, which was a great service. The rate was indeed very good - there was a renovation discount, but we were not at all disturbed by the ongoing building works.Staff were very friendly and helpful to carry our loads of bags and also to give us lifts with their golf carts. The bereakfast was very good. To go here in the low season is a bargain!!"
Walter stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2008-06-16 and said, "We had a very nice Cottage de luxe at the other side not at the beach and with big stones not useful for swimming .The white sand beach is wonderful (a long way to walk) and we enjoyed a lot of.The breakfast was good .The organisation with the ship was perfect. We will return sure."
Suwaleerat stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2008-06-15 and said, "Saikaew Beach Resort is one of the best resort in Samed Island. Its peace and friendly environment made my holiday very special."
Shailendra stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2008-06-14 and said, "Great resort and very well maintained as well! The rooms were also very spacious and nice...the beach one of the best ones! Overall great experience! Thanks!"
Jaap stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2008-06-08 and said, "Overall we are satisfied about the location and accommodation. But at first we were not happy, as the deluxe cottage is basic only, nothing deluxe (apart from the swing on the porch :)). We changed our cottage to a (requested) sea/beach view cottage, but that beach proved dangerous to swim in, because of rocks and black sea urchins. I was the only stupid farang to try to swim there, but came out quick with bruises and small wounds!!! Saikaew appeared to have another beach with white sand (only on 5 minutes walk or even quicker by golf-car), that proved to be nice. The water was not always clean however. But it was low season, the beach relatively quiet, the weather good, ....so no more complaints.Personel at the resort was extremely service-minded and kind, showing the Thai-smile a lot. Breakfast was extremely good. I would not really advise to eat there for lunch or dinner, because the warm food was not special.Koh Samed has several nice beaches and on Ao Wai I found even a nice snorkling beach to sea both colourful fish and coral. For the rest the island has a lot of irritating pollution from tourist and locals. I never before saw such a lot of dirt and litter lying around in nature. And nobody cared!! Garbage bins are nowwhere to be found. It is really ashame how nature is ruiined by men. The Thai authority should do something about that. Also the number of motorcycles is irritating and polluting. We hope to come back when when the island is cleaned up and improved it s basic infrastructure. But we also hope the accommadations stay small and tourism will not become a negative symptom."
Karim stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2008-06-06 and said, "Spent a weekend with my wife and little daughter and we had a good time. I thought that I had booked a bungalow on the beach, which was not the case, but the bungalow was nice, the staff very very friendly. The beach and the sea were not as clean as one would expect, with plastic bottles, condom packets floating around. In one small beach attached to the resort, it was full of broken beer bottles, not the best for the feet of my daughter! Food was very okay. Overall, I would recommend the place."
Philip stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2008-05-27 and said, "We stayed in a Deluxe Cottage, which was very nice and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good. My only complaint is that the room prices were a little expensive compared to others that were available along the same beach."
Philip stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2008-05-27 and said, ""
Andrell stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2008-05-27 and said, "The Resort was peaceful and relaxing away from the busy beaches like Phuket and Pattaya. There isn t much to do but the beach is very enjoyable. The american breakfast included was excellent and the cottage I reserved was clean and well managed. I will return to this resort in the future and recommend it to others."
Wei stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2008-05-24 and said, "1. Room is confortable and clean2. Breakfast is delicious3. Near beach"
Ricky stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2008-05-21 and said, "we stayed in deluxe cottage at the resort and it was sensational, perfect and totally we really enjoyed the stay, staff are so helpful and friendly, no complain at all, will be back again for sure."
Kendra stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2008-05-17 and said, "Very nice rooms,...clean, spacious, hip and great price! The location is good. The restaurants are ok but not on par with the rooms and service. We d definitely go back!"
James stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2008-05-13 and said, "Good location, but the deluxe cottages are too far from the beach. The beach front room was quite small but comfortable. It needed some fresh paint and trimming of the plants in front which blocked the beach view. The breakfast was excellent as was the service at the Rimtalay restaurant."
Daniel stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2008-05-11 and said, "Stayed in a beachfront room and was impressed. Staff were incredibly friendly. The room was simple but clean, with one of the nicer bathrooms I ve seen on Ko Samet s Saikaew beach. Saikaew beach is the place to stay if you want a fun nightlife -- the whole beach is lit up with lanterns and the atmosphere is fantastic."
Timo stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2008-04-29 and said, "Hotel is really nice for the price that I paid (2450b for beach front) and the construction doesn t bother most of the rooms at all. Beware the Pattaya travel agencies that won t sell the discounted prices. Don t also do the mistake and go to new Lanna Pizzeria, it is not ready yet and pizza looks taken from freezer."
David stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2008-04-13 and said, "This is a really big place. Nice rooms, and restaurant on right on perhaps the largest and possibly prettiest beach on Ko Samet. Pretty expensive, compared to some of the others places on this beach."
Emma& stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2008-03-21 and said, "Breakfast is very good and the location of the hotel is also good, very close to the beach and enough quite at night and daytime, as compared to the rest of the island. The hotel rates are however, too pricey for what the hotel offers. The room is not worth the money we paid. In Koh Samui we had a much better room for the same price. However, this hotel seems to be the best choice on the island if you opt for comfort and nearness to the beach.Bed sheets were changed daily and the room was clean except for the floor which should be improved. We booked everything through Sawadee and we will do it again in the future as rates are much better than if you go directly to the hotel. Thank you Sawadee!!!:)One time in Koh Samet is however enough for us. The island is small and there are not so many attractions like in Koh Samui.Next time we are definitely going somewhere else. We are thinking about Puket or Krabi. We will see.Anyway, thank you for everything."
Linda stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2008-03-21 and said, "This resort is the best one on the Saikaew beach! And the only one with a pool on this beach! We stayed in a two bedroom family suite which was beautifully situated by the small private beach that belonged to the resort. The suite was very nicely furnished and clean. A minus was that they didn t have a safety box and that it was an overprice considering thaiprices in general. If you want to stay at this beach on Koh Samet this is the best place! But, it is definitly not the best beach for sunbathing, it was trashy and very crowded (my opinion), the kids aged 9 and 11 did enjoy the water scooter and all activity though. At night the beach had some good places to eat at, and it was close to the center ."
Desmond stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2008-03-19 and said, "The hotel service was very good, nice location and the arrangements to / from the ferry are well organised. However the standard of the room was very poor, broken flooring, ants and cockroaches in the bathroom, very small room, so smmall difficult to walk around the bed. So poor I complained . This was attended to quickly and I was moved to a larger room, but I think the hotel is very nice but the rooms offered are in need of refurbishment as they look tired and old. Breakfast very nice. About the transport to and from the ferry, the cost of the taxi (sit on the back of a van, tuk tuk style) is excessive. They charge 200 Bhat for the trip. A local told me its normally 20 or 30 Baht for the trip. It can be cheaper if there are more residents travelling. In my case there were 5 so the charge should have been 40Baht, but I was asked for 70Baht. I refused but was told the charge was by room!!! Quite ridiculous. I still refuded to pay 70 and paid 40.On the way there I was the only resident so paid 200 for the 1 or 2 km. This was after paying 160 for a Bus from Bangkok!"
Nicholas stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2008-02-05 and said, "This was the second time my wife and I have stayed at Sai Kaew Beach Resort. We absolutely love this resort. During this stay we decided to venture about the rest of the island and search for other resorts to possibly stay at for another time. However, we could not find any to compare."
Adam stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2008-02-03 and said, "Best island ever!!!! Great location on the best beach in Koh Samet. The rooms are clean and the staff are very very friendly. We had a great trip... Make sure you stay at this beach and not any other. We took a motorbike around the island and saw some great views however, many of the other resorts were deserted and reminded us a little of the blair witch. Have fun on your trip - you will never forget this place."
Christina stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2008-01-12 and said, "Clean and nice place. Thought that it was a little too expensive compared to the room we got. Breakfast buffet OK. Petty that the pool are so fare away from the main beach ."
David stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2008-01-12 and said, "The Deluxe Cottage was spacious, but a bit remote from the beach. The room was comfortable, clean and everything in working order. Management of resort is superb at each step. Great beach. Quite good buffet breakfast, but other food was so-so."
Marc stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2008-01-11 and said, "welcome to the island mafia.....seems like everything is controlled by a small group who tries to make as much money with as little input on this island (the island itself is very nice)the hotel seems run down and the staff worn out....there have to be better places to stay...."
Preben stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2007-08-30 and said, "The best hotel on the beach, and still the only one on Saikaew Beach to give us the comfort we require travelling with a 1 year old baby. The hotel is expensive though, but the staff is speaking an okay english and were very helpfull at all times. No extra charge for an electric waterheater for cleaning babyequipment, no problems getting extra towels for the baby. Good cleaning every day. The restaurant prices very lower than last time we spent 5 days at the resort, but You must try the barbeque and the atmosphere on the beach closer to the city . Try book a speedboad to take you from Ban Phe directly to the resort. (We paid 2000 Baht for 4 adults and our baby for a return ticket on a privat speedboat)"
Terence stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2007-07-28 and said, "The hotel staff along with restaurant staff at the saikaew beach resort hotel are excellent and friendly. The superior rooms or room number 221 are basic and not worth the price of 2800 baht. The bathroom is old and needs new tiles, new floors and the walls needs to be painted."
Patrik stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2007-05-12 and said, "The room was clean but the standard was low for that price. I guess whats costing so much is the service and the service is excellent."
Hakan stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2007-04-20 and said, "My biggest disepontment in Thailand. Badly overpriced, poor standard and services. We was booked for 4 nights but moved after one night. Find another resort !!!"
Andrew stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2007-04-13 and said, "Stayed in a deluxe cottage over Songkran Weekend. These are quite separate from the rest of the huts as well as being on their own small beach. A short walk got to the main Saikaew beach (the small beach is way too quiet and rocky for anything other than sunbathing). The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, both in check-in and in the restaurant. As mentioned in other reviews here, the restaurant is very pleasant, but over-priced compared to others nearby. Inclusive breakfast was typical and of reasonable standard. The room itself was very well made up for a hut, albeit quite expensive. Cable television with movie channels, a novel outdoor shower, firm and comfy bed, loaded fridge and lots of attention to detail made it a good place to stay. Samet s beaches were much cleaner than Phuket and Samui, although the island is very small and relatively quiet.I would recommend the hotel as it did everything necessary...however, it is certainly possible to stay cheaper in Samet if you look around on a less busy weekend."
Dmitry stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2007-04-09 and said, "This is abcolutely horrible place if you love quite clean hotels. There are not somethings like this. It does not cost 100 usd for a deluxe cottege that is located close to constractions works. Also , close to the rooms there is a big whole that is full of dirty water, rubbish and moscuitos. We looked at the rooms and immidiently diceided to go away from this place. A lady at the reception was really friendly and did her best for us to move out."
Mark stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2007-01-09 and said, "Check in was smooth and easy. I got a complimentary drinks ticket for their restaurant, but other reviews on this site said that this restaurant was quite pricey, so I didn t bother trying it. There were plenty of good restaurants along the beach to choose from anyway. My bungalow was small but comfy. It was a single bedroom with a small atrium with the toilet out the back. The bed was a double even though I was booked as a single traveller. It was very comfortable. The shower was outside the back door although it had a high wall around it for privacy. It was quite refreshing to take a shower outdoors! The ceilings were quite high which gave it some sense of space. All mod cons: TV worked (with decent reception and channels), air-con worked, fridge worked (two complementary bottles of water per day), view worked. All good."
Richard stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2006-12-23 and said, "Not as nice as we hoped. Seemed expensive for what it was - especially the Christmas dinner which was frankly awful in spite of its nice setting by their lovely private beach. Service very good. Had rudeness from some guests which marred our stay resulting in us deciding to leave a day early in spite of it all being paid for."
Diana stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2006-11-15 and said, "Great place! Lovely nature and nice rooms! We have a lot of fun there!"
Espen stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2006-10-15 and said, "Great staff, helpful, smiling and service-minded. Very friendly! Great place. Enjoyed lots of strolls along the beach. Truly had a unforgettable stay at the Saikaew Beach Resort. Will be back! But forget the hotel restaurant, it´s too expensive compared to the other places on Ko Samet!"
Ken stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2006-09-24 and said, "Good resort with smiling and friendly staff. Lovely seabreezes while having breakfast. Would do it again, but I wish the government would spend a bit of the national park fees sprucing up Ko Samet. Bathroom in superior room a bit bare but adequate. Meals other than breakfast are pricey so just walk down the beach where there s lots of choice."
Markus stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2006-06-13 and said, "The resort is located at the end of a very nice sand beach. The staff was very friedly and rooms nice and clean. Only the quality of the food of the restaurant is much improvable. Nearby the resort we found many nice retaurants with tasty food for a good price and even a bar with a life band."
Frederick stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2006-04-05 and said, "this was a beautiful resort. lovely cottages. booked into delux villa which was great. loved the open air shower. was a nice touch i thought. the staff were most helpful in all matters.the evening buffets were amazing. excellent value. i fell in love with the island and its relaxed way of life."
Mr.Peter stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2006-04-04 and said, "Hotel staff very friendly and standard of accomodation OK. Liked the outdoor shower in the bungalow. Be warned some of the rooms are quite a walk from the main beach, although the nearby small cove with a few beach chairs was very relaxing. The beach has beautiful white sand, but was no so clean-a lot of plastic floating in the sea. Do not eat at the hotel restaurant, pretty position overlooking the sea but very expensive!Had a very pleasant stay, would recommend, but only for a few days.PS use the safe boxes, lost a watch from my room.Peter"
Mr.Gerhard stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2006-01-29 and said, "All I can say is: EXCELLENT! Had a wonderful stay, with helpful and friendly staff, and a value for money breakfast. This resort will see me again."
Olli-Petteri stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2005-11-27 and said, "I think Saikaew is one of the best hotels in this long beach. Very clean, peaceful and firendly personnel. Clearly more peacuful than most of the other resorts on the same beach. Also the restaurant was good, however one of the most expensive in this area."
Mr stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2005-11-20 and said, "Cottage was lovely in every way. Hot water didn t really feature but due to the heat and the shower being outside it didn t really matter. Staff were very helpful and the Manager was fantastic."
Dennis stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2005-11-07 and said, "Dont bother with this resort,it is not near the beach and more than twice as expensive as any other on saikaew beach,it is on the rocky side at the end of saikaew beach which is called bannana beach, after visiting fantastic samet for the forth time i was totaly ripped off by paying this ammount of money for a hut that was mingled between huts that cost 600 baht and i paid 4000 baht a night,do yourself a favor and book one night on the web and then walk along one of the best beaches in the world (saikaew beach)and pay for a beach front v.i.p hut and it will cost you less than half and save much dissapointment"
Fernando stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2005-08-03 and said, "Very nice place. The Beach is clean and quiet. My little two kids have enjoined very much. We will bach for the next time"
Jody stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2005-04-28 and said, "We traveled around the island and Saikaew is definetly the best. The new area is private and quiet, with new cottages. All personnel are very friendly and helpful to any of our needs. The only negative that I can say is that the water pressure for showers could be better."
Jens stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2005-03-26 and said, "Stayed in the newer part of the resort which was some 5 mins walk from the prime beach. Beach was very nice with fine white sand. Helpful and serviceminded staff, but as always in Thailand, communication can be an effort. Nice and clean cottage (Deluxe Cottage). Only negative note is that the cottage was left wide open during cleaning, and the mosquito hunt was on again. Plumbing may be a bit dubious in parts of the resort.Breakfast was average, but the dinner buffets were great. The swimmingpool must be regarded as a child-pool, only 4 ft deep. Good value for money in general."
Janet stayed at Saikaew Beach Resort on 2005-03-23 and said, "The hotel was great. The hotel staff was nice, the deluxe cottage was great in comfort and decor, the location was excellent, the grounds were beautiful, and the breakfast buffet was good. It was more expensive than some of the other hotels, but it was worth it."
