Barbara said, "Thara Patong was our first stop in Thailand. Our rooms were OK but of a lower standard to what was shown on internet. Perhaps because there was renovation work underway on other wings, we were @ the very back of the building and there was a constant unpleasant odour outside the door. The rooms were also very dark, with poor lighting. A/c was OK, and rooms clean. The pools were lovely and most staff always smiling and willing to help. The outdoor massage area was a real treat. Breakfast was excellent. Check IN was good, but slow, particularly since it was after midnight."

Sari said, "Great and very big Resort with spa, pool bars and restaurants. We had the cheepest room which was not so fancy but ok and had everything we needed with balcony. Every balconies on the hotel are to the pool :) The Rates in high season might be too much for those rooms but now 30 euros per night was ok! Allthough we had a mouse in our room one night but we chanced the room :) The Italian restaurant has very tastefull pizza and pastas and Breakfast buffet was perfect! Two big pool areas are pleasant for adults and kids! Enough of sun beds also. The internet is also in the lobby for 100 thb/30 min. The hotel is on a very good place! Everything is close: Beach, restaurants, shopping places, night clubs etc. Highly recommended for low season!"

Lee said, "We had a fantastic stay, it was my first trip to Thailand and I m now a convert! Thara Resort is a great place to stay, as good or better facilities/rooms/service as the Patong Merlin according to my partner. We needed to change rooms on arrival as my partner is in a wheelchair and the bathroom was not suitable, this was happliy facilitated by the friendly staff. We had a Deluxe room and found it was more than adequate for our needs with a balcony over the pool and a Kingsized bed (the airconditioner was great!). We originally booked this hotel because it advertised the fact that they catered for disabled people and the great price (pay 7 stay 10)and I would highly recommend it for anyone who uses a wheelchair for mobility, there is a lift to the upper floors in the new wing and ramps throughout the grounds making access to pools, bars etc really easy. I would also recommend for anyone wanting a relaxed, quality and value for money stay in the heart of Patong Beach (kids and adults alike will love the pool areas). The shopping starts just out the Beach Road entrance and its only a short walk to the famous Bangla Road but once inside the hotel its was quiet and you wouldn t know the busyness happening right on your doorstep.Breakfast was always of a good standard and Firday nights banquet at the Tatawan restaurant is great... All the seafood you can eat (giant oysters, prawns, bugs, crab.....)We did happy-hour every nigt...Drinks @ half price for 2 hours! I will most definately return for another great stay."

(But saw some other Indian Tourists facing problems- Hotel can arrange for some Indian Veg item on the menu).Hotel Managment was very helpful upgraded us to deluxe as lot of Honey bees entered our Bathroom of superior room with excellent and fast response.The open air spa hut in between two pools is a Great attraction and my wife enjoyed the Massage there.Would recommend this hotel to every one specially families with Kids. as the Swimming pool is really good."

Tamara said, "This hotel was great, the pools are fantastic, it is in a perfect location within walking distance to everything includingthe famous Bangla road but you can still go back to the hotel to get away from the craziness. We enjoyed the pool bar happy hour and the restaurants also. the staff are so very helpful and really pleasant. We will be going back to stay again. As soon as you walk out of the hotel you are in the middle of it all but you can retreat back to the hotel to relax as its quiet and peaceful. It felt very safe and secure. Massages were cheap too. it was great!!"

My booking was for non-smoking room and smoking room offered and they did not tell me.Air conditioners doesn t work and staff & their maintenance people argue on this point.Breakfast - worst of a kind.Do not want to recommend this hotel. Hotel has 4-star grade but in my opinion does not deserve 4-star grade."

GRAHAM said, "I have been to Thailand for the past 10 Years and have services. People have to remember where they are. You are in Thailand, and I tell you, I think it is getting better every year. It is what you make of it. I had one of the best trips yet.I thought the Resort was well priced, and I would have to say that it was one of the cleanest that I have been to. The staff were terrific, especially the guy s and ladies at the pool bar during the day and night. I got to know most of them very well, and it is suprising what they will do and what they will give to you if you make the effort in getting to know them.I had a Deluxe room on the third floor over looking the pool with my own balcony, and it had all of the facilities to make it a very comfortable stay.The selection of meals and breakfast were excellent and happy hour at the pool bar was a hoot.Could do with a few more sun beds around the pool.They had a very good system for the safe keeping of your valuables in the safety deposit boxes at reception. The Resort was in a great position across the road from the beach, and only a short distance away from the one and only Banglar road night life.There are plenty of convenient stores, Pharmacy s, booking agencies and eateries right out side the Resorts front door.I will definitely stay here when I return again.All this made it a memorable stay in Phuket. Pity it had to end."

Jan said, "have been 6 times in patong at different hotells. Big beautiful pool area. The staff where not as friendly as in smaller hotells. Cleaning is ok but rooms look old and does not stand up to 4 stars? Restaurant is expensive and they put on extra servicecharge? Breakfast is quite good. The biggest problems is with other tourists, noicy in the night. Russians who does not understand to go out party and does it in hotell? Overall the hotell is quite ok and you just cross beach road to get to beach. It should be 3 star hotell with correct prices! Regards Janne S."

Being so close to the main street, I thought noise would be a problem but it was very quiet and sleeping was no problem. I like the service with hassle free check in and out and i particularly like your swimming pool which is cleverly divided into 3 parts, the main pool with water shooting out fm the elephant trunk, jaccuzi and spa pool and finally children pool. The set up is so green and relaxing so much so that i am totally relaxed by just lying at the poolside all day. The staff in the hotel are equally courteous and the room is spacious."

Elizabeth said, "We really enjoyed our stay at the Thara Patong Beach Resort. It is in a fantastic location, right on Beach Rd. It is across the road from the beach and a short walk to Bangla Road, but not too close to be affected by the noise. The staff were very friendly, and we had a fantastic room right by the pool. The photos on the website do not do the resort any justice. Its so much better when you see the place for real. The pools are surrounded by lots of plantation which provides great scenery, and there are loads of deck chairs so you can spend the day by pool. There are lady boys hanging out the front of the pharmacy next door, but if you a girl you won t hear a peep from them! A buffet breakfast was provided every day which had loads of variety. Would definately stay at Thara Patong again and recommend it to others!"

Peter said, "We booked 2 rooms, 1 in the Deluxe part and the other in the superior for our 15 year old daughter. We were happy with the rooms naturally the Superior room was not quite as nice but clean and cool with a great view. Breakfast was excellent and on par with any resort in Thailand."

Mohamed said, "It is good hotel but during our stay was problem with the electrecity lot of time it cut down and there was no hot water in the roomone for one day.We two adult and two child below than 12 years and there was two bed in the room one as they said is king size and the other one single size but the big one wa not enough for tow persons realy we hadn t been comfortable in the bed it was too small and when we asked them that our booking is a delux room with extra bed they said that the room is truoble and there is no extra bed ."

Tan said, "It is relatively a good decent Hotel located conveniently for those who desire to shop or beach lovers as accessibility to both are within walking distance. The Superior rooms are fine but cleanliness especially for the carpeted area cum room edges can be improved as it does look like it has not been vacuumed for some time. We were given two far end connecting rooms with obstructed Pool or Garden view and when we requested for room change, we were told that the Hotel is fully booked in which is true as we were told the same when we make the room reservation whereby we cannot have the Deluxe Rooms but to succumb to the Superior Rooms. However, not sure whether we were allocated rooms with obstructed view was because we made the booking through sawadee.com in which was the cheapest rate that I managed to get out of all search engine and relevant booking channels or was it because we had a connecting room that was difficult to find in particular when the Hotel is fully booked.We would have opted for the Deluxe Rooms in which was a better option due to the access and room setup and that was what we initially wanted until we were told that there were none available even though we made the said booking a month ahead as the dates coincide with the Bikers Week and Songkran Festival.Overall, it was a pleasant stay as this is my third visit to Phuket with this Hotel being one of the better ones due to its locality no doubt as mentioned earlier, room cleanliness can be improved."

However, for those travelling with children the pools are obviously a major plus!Rooms are comfortable and very clean...decor wise they are plain but no complaints. Breakfast is fantastic!Highly recommend this hotel for its location and service. Good value for money."
