Morgan said, "Kata Palm Resort was amazing. the rooms are clean, spacy and well maintend, decoration is fine and the bathrom big with a tub and shower. The pool area is the best i had in any hotel in thailand and the price on the low season is great. the breakfast could have more to offer, but we dit not really mind as the overall of the hotell os soo good. Nice staff and perfect located on Kata. I would recomend this hotel to anyone and i will come back!"
Wendy said, "We booked Pool Access Room for 2 nights which is absoutly over our expectation. The room is spacious, and the location of the hotel is good. The only thing is the lobby building is under remodeling."
Nathan said, "Family friendly environment. Great Price. Great Location - just 5 minutes walk to the beach and a lot of restaurants close by. Great Customer Relations - I celebrated my birthday while at the hotel. The hotel gave me a complimentary cake. It was a suprise to us all."
A-C said, "We had a very pleasant stay at this resort, and it´s also very good value for your money!Nice and helpful staff, beutiful pool-area, good location not too far from Kata beach. We really recommend it!A great, spaciuos room which was clean and tidy.An extra plus for the bathroom with booth shower and bathtub."
Pauline said, "Fantastic. 4 pools...my little girl enjoyed herself very much. We spent most of the time in the resort. Stepping out occasionally for meals and massage. The resort is fully booked but the pool does not feel crowded at all. Resort is clean and well maintained. Staff are friendly. Breakfast is not as bad as what others described. On days when there are many Koreans, the resort catered their breakfast to suit Asian taste. On days where there are many Europeans, they had more western food. It s definitely a value-for-money resort."
Bradley said, "An absolutely brilliant hotel for the money. Two pools, a good atmosphere especially if traveling with young children, and the rooms are great. The Deluxe rooms are set up with an extra couch/bed negating the need to pay for an extra bed. Nearby Kata beach has nice sand and water, however there is a lot of debris in there from time to time (Tsunami leftovers?)."
Susan said, "Hi we had a great time at Kata Palms, would stay there again. Breakfast was fine also. Good place for a family to stay."
Gregory said, "This hotel was absolutely fantastic. The staff were incredibly efficient, polite and friendly. Our room was a Pool Access Room and was well serviced every day. The pool was wonderful and clean and we believe the ambient temperature was 5-10 degrees cooler than outside. Would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back!"
David said, "The Kata Palm is a very nice and quiet hotel/resort. The staff is very polite and helpful. I is about a 15 minute walk away but there are several places close to the hotel to rent motorbikes to get to the beach and to tour the island. The king size bed is actually two double beds pushed together. I would have no problems staying at the Kata Palm again in the future."
naor said, "Beautiful Huge rooms, friendly service. Beautiful swimming pool. Breakfast was just OK not great! location not far away from the beach and there are no ocean view rooms. Construction is going on next to the hotel. Overall, great value for money in Kata Beach."
Nadine said, "Disappointing resort, not like on website. Good service but staff do not speak english very well. The hotel is old and needs some serious renovations, dirty bedsheets. Deluxe room with pool access is nice but so many mosquitoes we were unable to open the patio doors. Good location in Kata, 5 min walk from beach. Great for families. Kata beach is gorgeous. Would recommend staying in Kata but if you are looking for 4 star service this is not the place for you. Would qualify more like a 3 star, not worth the price."
Sophia said, "The hotel is great. Very friendly staff and the hotel facilities were ecellent, very clean. Overall very happy!"
Anthony said, "Great Resort, Fantastic Pool, Super Staff, especially the Guest Relations Manager and the staff at the Reef. free internet, close to shops and beach and just a cheap Tuk Tuk ride to wherever you need to go. Originally booked the superior room but had to upgrade to a pool access room due to the size. We had an infant and definately needed the extra space that either the dulux or pool access room has. After our inital dissapointment in trying to get an upgrade, we had a marvellous stay and met some fantastic people. Here is a tip, definatly do your shopping at the Pucket town weekend market, best prices and all the locals shop there!!! We would definately stay here again."
matthew said, "We found the room pleasant and the surroundings lovely. The deluxe pool access was amazing! We were a little disappointed about a few things, bag pick up forgotten, twin beds pushed together instead of a double. Minor issues but overall an excellent hotel. We were not keen on the area, if you are looking for cheap fake shopping, European restaurants and lots of topless French and German disrespectful tourists Phuket maybe for you!The beach was beautiful, can t say the clientèle were."
Janne said, "Mukava hotelli hyvällä paikalla. Hinta/laatu ok low seasong aikaan. Rannalle matkaa n. 500m. Palvelu pelas hyvin ja aamupala oli ok. Jos haluaa pool access huoneen niin kannattaa ottaa se alueen pääty rakennuksesta. Deluxe huoneet sijaitsee paremman altaan luona. Allasalue yks parhaimpia mitä nähny vaikka onkin aika matala."
C said, "I really did my homework and spent some time reading others reviews before i booked. What an awesome hotel, we the room was big and very traditional with an amazing stone bath and strong shower with two shower heads. The service was great and staff go out of their way to help. I will return to this hotel but next time will book a pool access room, they are awesome and a must, worth money. Just to be critical and beeing a very active couple who train hard and maintain good physiques i was dissapointed with the fitness centre (one set of dumbells and some old equipment wont do it guys...) other than that you will not get the same for same money anywhere else. Kata is great because its short drive from the mayhem of Patong but still has the fun side to it. I will without a doubt return to Phuket its a wonderful place and the resort is more than sufficient. Thankyou for a wonderful stay Kap-koon-kap and many happy returns."
Jacqueline said, "A beautiful hotel just a little faded. The staff were unfailingly helpful and pleasant. Room very comfortable. Mosquitoes are a problem due to lush greenery so pack repellant! Food was expensive and a bit ordinary. There is construction going on very close but we were not disturbed by noise, this of course may change depending on project timeline. Definitely a family hotel. We good service. Near everything. ++++++++++"
Andreas said, "ABSOLUTE FANTASTIC!We 7 yers ago when I was 21 yers old. Big diffrents can I say. So much more touristic. But we loved it anyway. But the prices has increaced a lot in the most comerciall places."
Danny said, "Beautiful Hotel, swimming pool area is awesome. Check in was easy, breadfast was great. 5 minutes from the beach. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Beer was super cheap"
Hjoerdis said, "Very nice hotel, nice and quiet, good for families with children, the pool area is great, and the pools side massage just so. we had a deluxe pool view room and it was really nice. The A/C worked well. The staff is very helpful and friendly and always smiling. It is only a short walk to the beach and there are plenty of good restaurants and shops nearby. we are coming back, that is for sure."
Jacqueline said, "Very nice hotel with a great pool area and enough loungers. Rooms were well sized and the bathroom was new and clean. Breakfast could have been better and the way to the beach is a bit long. The shops and restaurants are nearby.Great place for families because the pool is max 3.8 ft deep. Friendly staff. Absolutely recommendable."
Magdalena said, "We ended up staying here for 8 nights.. I went with my 2 children (1 5yearold and 1 baby) and with my sister and her baby. We booked a pool access room which was just perfect with my 5-year old who ended up swimming from 10 am until 7 pm every day. Our two babies were just sleeping on the terrace or in the room, or we had them bathing in the shadow, which was also great. The best about the resort is they kept it nice and cool, even though the temp was around 32-35 degrees, we were not bothered about it. Very nice staff, always happy and playing with the children. Clean and nice resort with great location for restaurants at night. Good breakfast. Worth the extra money for the pool access room. But make sure you get one of the following rooms 102-109. further away it gets very quiet, also a bit smelly further down the poolside. I strongly recommend this resort, especially if you are a family with children!"
Yvonne said, "Vi kan bara rekommendera detta hotell!! Fantastisk reception! Tips, boka tidigt!"
Edwin said, "Cosy hotel and have nice pool-area, we have a room access to the pool, everyday clean, warm shower and AC also working good. Only the size of the TV in de room too small. Best location in Kata. Close to everything; markets and restaurant and only 2 minutes away to the beach. The restaurant is also good with reasonable prices and nice and friendly staff."
Kate said, "The hotel is well situated for restaurants, massages, shops, etc. There is free internet. All the employees are friendly and most helpful. I enjoyed the decor, which is in the Thai style. Breakfast was plentiful and changed somewhat every day.My only minus point would be the pool setup, which to me was a bit akward. Unless one has a pool access room, the available pool area is the children pool near the coffee shop. Consequently, most people crowded around that area, which made it quite busy."
Joan said, "Very striking and attractive resort. We were upgraded to pool access room, which is highly recommended. Just walk out your door and swim to the bar or restaurant, and then back to lounge on your own comfortable chairs. Rooms ate stunning, with all amenitites. The breakfast buffet is extensive - everything from made to order omelets to asian specialties. This hotel was the only place I encountered that provides free internet service. A short walk to the town beach. I would stay there again."
KONTONIKOLIS said, "REALY NICE HOTEL. SPECIAL THE POOL ACCESS ROOM WAS FANTASTIC. TWO THINGS FOR BETTER SERVICE 1) BETTER CLEANING SERVICE AND 2) BIGGER BREAKFAST BUFFET (TO MANY THAI FOODS)"
Mr said, "Both staff and facilities were excellent. On arrival we found that we had not been allocated twin beds as requested; however, reception was more than helpful and arranged for an upgrade to satisfy our requirements."
P said, "This hotel have a very nice and large poolarea with a lot of flowers and plants. The rooms are large and nicely decorated with Thai style and with a nice bathroom. There is a special Thai extra bed beside the window, suitable for romance. The bar in the middle of the pool is worth to try, since you will sit in the cooling poolwater having some cool drinks. Many choices in the breakfast buffet. We can strongly recommend this hotel!"
Arno said, "The Resort is Excellent, we book a Pool view room and got upgraded to a deluxe pool view room! The 2 swimming pools are clean and make the hotel special.Planning to visit Kata Palm again soon. Thanks to all at Kata Palm."
Maria said, "Very nice hotel with friendly staff. The hotel was clean and the rooms spacious. The breakfast was the best we had during our threeweeks stay in Thailand. Poolarea was great."
Jeremiah said, "The resort was amazing. After a long bus trip from krabi to phuket we needed a break. As we checked in we were up-graded to a pool access room which was amazing. We had booked a pool view room. The room was spectacular. I will definately be staying at the resort again. I also would recommened getting the delux pool access room. There wont be any regrets. Hotel is clean, staff are not as friendly as they would be in smaller resorts. Most staff can speak english. The pool is the biggeset attraction of the resort. Basically it is well worth for the buck. Better then what i expected. I had no problems what soever and will be staying there in the soon future."
Sherri said, "I enjoyed my stay at the Kata Palm and would recomend it.Staff were friendly and helpfull.Accomidations were exactly as depicted on the website."
Ruth said, "This hotel is worth every cent and great location. We were comfortable, the rooms are clean, food good and they look after you. We had teenage girls and great location in comparison the town of phuket or patong."
Nana said, "This is a very nice hotel. My husband and I extended our stay twice because we liked this hotel so much. The pool area is great and you get really nice drinks in the pool bar (where you actually sit in the pool) We where also upgraded from superior to deluxe room so we have no complaints at all. Very nice and helpful staff. We will definately recommend this hotel to everybody going to Phuket."
Lena said, "A very very nice and beatiful hotel in a very good location. We stay longer than we have planned.we will come again."
keith said, "Pleasant, clean hotel with an excellent pool for the children to play including an astec waterfall which you can swim through. The rooms are spacious and have good views of the pool. Would recommend a pool access room (worth the slight extra charge). Easy 3 minute walk to Kata Beach and plenty of shops, bars and restaurants all in easy walking distance form the hotel. Only downside was breakfast which was not very inspiring. I would stay here again with the family just for the location and the swimming pool. Price was 1800 baht per night for a family of four sharing a room."
Juliette said, "Lovely place to stay, well-appointed rooms and a lovely big pool, with lots of shallow areas for kids. Decent breakfasts, friendly staff, but the kids club (tiny area in the fitness room) was a bit of a let-down - on a rainy day we desperately needed some indoor toys! Staff were very helpful with our little ones, and there were plenty of high chairs. Best part was probably hotel location - only a couple of minutes walk from Kata s shops and the beach. Huge rooms (we had deluxe pool view, which is in the new wing) and balconies that were large and safe for the kids to play on. Good baby cots provided. Will definitely stay here again!"
Lynn said, "This is the third time we have it gets better every time! On our most recent visit, we had the pool access room which was superb. We will definitely stay there again on our next visit to Phuket."
Marini said, "The hotel is great. Love the ambiance and the room is absolutely beautiful. Everyday they will clean-up the room but the bed wasn t that tidy. They have two swimming pools and both have their own bar. I ve tried the massage near the pool. It s so relaxing and for 400baht I think it s really worth it. As for the breakfast they have a lots of varieties but if you stay more than 2 days it s a bit boring. I m so glad for choosing Kata Beach instead of Patong. I love Kata Beach although it s a walking distance from the hotel. So clean and beautiful. Can t ask for more."
Joanne said, "Hotel was very nice. We it was beautiful, although quite a firm bed. The pools were lovely and the minibar cheaper than a lot of the bars outside the resort. My husband celebrated his birthday while we were there and the staff at the front desk organised a surprise birthday cake for us and turned up singing for him - they had seen on his passport copy the date of his birthday. Breakfast was okay; we have had better selections but we didn t go hungry so no real complaint there. We found the location fantastic with a 5 minute walk down the road to lots of restaurants and the beach. The rooms could be a bit noisy at times but this was mainly due to very inconsiderate guests next door to us and the resort apologised for this although this was not really in their power to control. We had to check out quite a few hours before our flight home and they happily kept our bags for us and provided pool towels and access to a changeroom with a shower and towels for changing at the end of the day. All in all a great resort in a great location and I would recommend it to anyone."
Karin said, "Schönes Hotel, wird jetzt während der Nebensaison teilweise renoviert, war aber nie störend. Saubere schöne Zimmer, sehr guter Service, nettes freundliches Personal. Schöne Poolanlage. Günstige Lage, nahe am Strand. Schön auch für Familien, würde jederzeit wiederkommen"
Angus said, "The hotel was fantastic. We were 8 people and kata palms arranged for 4 connecting Deluxe poolside rooms...two of which were interconnecting for our small children. pools were excellent, breakfast contrary to what I had read was outstanding with fresh omlette, bacon, eggs, fruit and a whole variety of really tasty and different asian food on offer. A 10 minute stroll to the beach past the 7/11 for a beer en-route and with a stack of shops to distract and barter in....Kata was a terrific location. Tuk-Tuk to P_atong cost around 250 Baht ($8AU)and the market was fantastic for even cheaper bargains. Excellent experience."
Colleen said, "We thought that this hotel was great our pool access room was beautiful, the staff were great, breakfast was good and the location great with lots of restaurants & shopping right outside the hotel. We will return."
Jim said, "Very nice hotel, good service and really good breakfast. Recommended. Will absolute come back."
Ellie said, "My friend and I shared a pool access room and it was just divine. We had twin beds that were extremely firm, however we just used that as an excuse to have multiple massages down the road. If you exit the hotel and turn right, you will come accross a road (where the Sawasdee village is located) where there is a whole strip of massage places. We loved Sabai Sabai 2 which was basically the first in line. My friend had her hair braided and they did a great job. The aroma oil massages were lovely, and the staff were really nice. We tried a few other places but this was our favourite. We had a Thai massage at the Kata Palm spa which was very expensive. The massage was very professional, but I would avoid the pedicure. The woman doing my pedicure cut my second toe quite badly with a clipper and I have returned home with a scar to remind me. They still charged me for it and I was too exhausted to challenge them on that one.On check in we were escorted to our room and the porter hung around so we tipped him 50 baht. He also gave us his lighter to keep so we could light our mosquito coil. You may need these as there are lots of mosquitoes. Why are there no mosquito screens on the doors? There are tea and coffee facilities, but we had to go to the nearby 7-11 to buy fresh milk. On returning to our room the keycard broke in the door. The reception manager was visibly angry with us and blamed us for not using it correctly. A entourage of 3 other staff removed the broken card from the door with a smile.Breakfast has a lot of variety, but the food was surprisingly bland. I had a staff member freshly cook my eggs for me as the ones in the bain marie sat uncovered for who knows how long.Reception staff were indifferent, at one stage I turned to my friend and said they hate us and I really felt that they tolerated guests rather than welcomed them.We are 2 Australian woman in our 40 s, very polite and friendly so I felt sad that when we returned to the hotel and greeted the staff, they barely bothered to even look up - except the room maids who were always friendly. Our room safe was broken, 4 requests later it was fixed.Room cleaning was good and timely. The cable TV was broken for most of the time we were there, but we really were not too interested in TV, preferring to explore and swim. It would have been good though if the hotel put up a sigh to inform guests.Location was good, but the pool was the highlight. I swam one night in the moonlight and it was divine. The hotel tour staff were helpful and bargained the prices down. There are 2 computers with internet in the foyer. One keyboard was so well used that you couldn t see the letters, so as a non touch typer I found that a challenge. The taxi at the hotel has fixed prices which seem to be the going rate, however 2 minutes down the road you can get it maybe 50 to 100 baht cheaper. If you want to go to a couple of place, consider hiring the driver for a few hours, it can save on individual trips.Wherever you stay you must not miss the reggae bar (can t remember name) at the view point. Its about 10 minutes from Kata. The view at sunset is breathtaking and the cocktails are incredible. My Pina Colada come in a carved pineapple decorated with flowers and it was delightfully cold. We loved this place so much we returned on our last evening prior to flying home.We would stay at the Kata Palm again for the pool access room - it was well worth it. If you like the beach its only a 5 - 10 minute walk past lots of shops, or around the concrete wall of Club Med. For 2600 baht a night we both felt it was really good value and had a memorable time for the 5 nights we were there prior to moving to Kamala Beach (Layalina)."
Chistopher said, "Resort aimed at NE Asian families. Upon check in I was shown a sign stating a 1000 baht joiner charge. That s an outrageous price, plus this should be explained to a customer before the pre paid booking process. I checked out after one night."
Irene said, "Lovely hotel shame the staff let them down. Beware of noisy check-in at 2 to 3 am!!! when rang down to reception instead of apology was told guest checking in. it s normal!! . On our last day when ask pool staff to take a picture was told he was too busy and we should try reception. More staff there!!"
Mrs said, "My husband and I did not receive any sun, but we were very happy with this as it was very hot in Phuket in April. We often did not turn the A/C on till later. We loved sitting on our lounge chairs overlooking the pool and the ability to go inside when the need arose. The swim up pool bar was very close, so afternoon cocktails were often on order. Breakfast was good, only place we missed the pool access at our next hotel, we would definitely stay here again (pool access of course), if we ever visit Kata Beach again."
