Phillip stayed at Baan Khaolak Resort on 2008-06-04 and said, "This hotel is a pleasant suprise. Ideally situated on the beach and two minutes walk from shops/restaraunts. Beach front suite (103) was in excellent condition. Room facilities in good condition. Rain shower was gold! The bed sliightly harder than what we are used to. View from the room excellent.Resort pool looks very inviting, provides a good view of the beach, ie. on the beach. Pool slightly warm temp. All food provided by the resort was of an excellent standard, though obviously marginally more expensive than in the street. Staff were friendly and responsive to all requests. I would recommend this hotel to my friends/family and I would love to come back here in the future. The khoalak area is beautiful and shits on Phuket."
Frederick stayed at Baan Khaolak Resort on 2008-04-01 and said, "Ideal location right in Khaolak centre. Well run resort, fantastic gardens, plenty of beds on clean beach and around pool. Good beach restaurant with great staff and reasonable prices. Plenty of choices for breakfast. We had a sea view villa which was very spacious with verandah. Staff very attentive. Will definitely stay there again."
K stayed at Baan Khaolak Resort on 2008-02-27 and said, "Lovely resort. Would definitely stay there again. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean and modern."
Peter stayed at Baan Khaolak Resort on 2008-01-31 and said, "We stayed in a cottage, nice and clean. The resort is situated perfectly near the beach with a restaurant worth visiting Shops and restaurants are not far away.Service from staff is kindly and efficiant. Can only recommend this place."
Annica stayed at Baan Khaolak Resort on 2007-12-19 and said, "Good value for your money! Very good location in Nan thong, Khao Lak. We stayed at the two stories cottage. The hotel has a boutigue hotel feeling. Hotel has made a good job with the plants and trees. The beach restaurant is highly recommended. The breakfast is Ok, but it could have been some more vegetables. We recommend this hotel and Khao Lak."
Jan stayed at Baan Khaolak Resort on 2007-10-21 and said, "We can really recommend this hotel. The rooms was spacius and well furnitured. The location was good walking distance to the city only five minutes away. The staff was very polite and friendly, the breakfast was really good with variations. We were eating dinner at the resturant one night and was quite suprised over the good quality, of course it was a little more expensive but well worth the money. The beach was really nice if you have bigger children or youths because of the big waves(anyway in october). We will return next year and we will stay at the same hotel because it was one of the better hotels we have stayed in thailand so far, so i can highly recommend baan khao laak resort"
Bertram stayed at Baan Khaolak Resort on 2007-08-04 and said, "beautiful hotel brand new! big!!rooms, nice swimming pool but no spa reception speaks poor english but is very friendly, great breakfast. Beach is not for swimming in august to much current and waves but you can lay in beach beds provided by hotel. there are no activities in hotel they have a tour desk but they speak almost no english and are more expensive then in the village. overall good hotel for doing nothing for couple of days"
Branko stayed at Baan Khaolak Resort on 2007-07-05 and said, "Baan Khao Lak is very nice hotel, everything is very well maintained. We have spent our time in two storied cottage, our family took good value option of two rooms in ground floor with connecting doors. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The good thing about this hotel is that it is close to restaurants and shops in Khao Lak, the prices for food and beverages in the hotel were a little bit over our budget. Breakfast was OK, but in low season the was no buffet, you could order anything on the menu. Despite the monsoon the weather waS OK, but it seems that Khao Lak gets much more rain than Phuket and places more on south."
John stayed at Baan Khaolak Resort on 2007-05-31 and said, "RE-built and opened in 2006 this hotel is of the highest quality for a 3 star rating hotel.Tsuanmi in 2004 destroyed this hotel and most of staff were killed as well.Family resort that will make your holiday in thailand a memorable one.Shopping 10-15 mins away by foot. The interior in ALL categorised rooms are excellent and each have balconies with outside chairs to relax on.Beach villa s has an ensuite room with the fridge and closet area located behind the wall of the king size bed then you have toilet spa and two showers 1 outside the other inside possible to sleep 4/5(kingbed + 2 adults or 3 children can sleep in the HUGE sofa/lounge area) Zero metres from beach.Seaview villa s can sleep 3 (family of 4 with 2 toddlers),25 metres from beach Cottage Room is a duplex villa, sleeping capacity is same as seaview villa.50 metres away from beach.Superior Room, sleeping capacity same as seaview (families of 5 may even be able to fit into a handicap superior room as they are huge!!,queenbed ,sofa-bed + 2 x foldout beds are possible) 80-100 metres from beach 2 storey rooms is a Standard Room are in the lowest category but are absolutely top grade rooms, just lacking sofa/lounge area that the other room types have, quite roomy but I do not suggest to have an extra bed put into these rooms but at this level its cheap enough to lease the adjoining room and have the extra space!! (have joining door between rooms)100-130 metres from beach and very acceptable.(GREAT VALUE !! We will stay in these next time around)We stayed in the cottage room and leased adjoining room for our sons and lived in luxury, so we had twice the tv,toilet/shower,sofa, fridge etc Heaps of storage space for all clothes and travel bags.Staff are young and still need time to develop skills to make one s stay even more pleasurable. As experienced before at other hotels in Thailand, ants will find their way into your room if the enticement of food is left out Breakfast is very good, above average I may say and I m sure it would be a buffet style breakfast in peak season,we experienced made to order in low season. Beach restaurant is good but can improve and I hear that they will expand eating area onto/towards closer to the beach. Wireless internet is available at a cost, buy the 500bht cards for value!! Mountain bike hire at 100bht a day along with training/weights room and internet room for those that havn t got their laptops.Honeymooners note that in low season this is the place to be to have that quiet, relaxing time you would want . Shopping, tailors, thai massage and restaurants are active and although not everything is running in low season we found it to be more than enough to keep you satisfied during your stay. 1.5-2 hrs drive to patong if you like that type holiday enviroment (lunatic madness/circus of spruikers trying to get your dollar) Diveshops were also active in low season with many closed with out for a dive sign on the door probably due to low season again, many tours that operate the 1 day tours to the ocean.ie pp island etc were not operating in the low season. Baan khaolak resort gave us exactly what we wanted in a relaxing holiday, sounds of the ocean crashing onto the beach, sun and things/sites see and do. Great food to be eaten at a price embarrasing cheap to mention in town. We are planning next trip to thailand we will use this resort as our base, something we havn t done before!! 1st time to khaolak after 7 visits to thailand but definately not my last . Paradise before the circus comes to town!! IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN!!"
Glenda stayed at Baan Khaolak Resort on 2007-05-04 and said, "We had a great time at this resort. We had 3 garden view rooms. They were large and spacious. The bathroom windows had fly screens and opened, which was wonderful. The resort is extremely well laid out and it is well maintained. The food was great and the staff were wonderful. I would reccommmend this resoort to any one looking for a relaxing place to holiday."
Mark stayed at Baan Khaolak Resort on 2007-04-15 and said, "Really nice hotel right on beach, booked beachfront bungalow which was lovely but few problems windows didnt close properly so mosquitoes galore, bit too pricey for what you get.Staff were lovely food good overall had nice stay.Staff english not great so few mix ups with food orders ,thai food outstanding."
Jane stayed at Baan Khaolak Resort on 2007-04-10 and said, "For a family it was a great location, nice and small and close to town. Still lovely and fresh but I fear it may get run down over time as the cleaning and maintainence have room for improvement. The staff were very friendly. Great beach although waves a bit big for small kids. Food was good although with bigger parties it never seemed that everyone got their food at the same time. I would recommend this hotel and this village."
Danielle stayed at Baan Khaolak Resort on 2007-04-10 and said, "We had a fastastic time- the location is spectacular (stunning beach, easy walk to local shops etc), and the staff were just wonderful. Room cleaning sometimes a little less than satisfactory... but overall great value for money - a lovely, easy, relaxing place to stay!"
Bill stayed at Baan Khaolak Resort on 2007-04-10 and said, "Perfect for families getting together, new, clean with helpful staff. definitly value for the money. The beach, pool and general setting was great and would be as good as you would get anywhere. A bit too family for honeymooners."
Mrs stayed at Baan Khaolak Resort on 2007-04-09 and said, "The rooms at the Baan Khaolak were the best rooms we have ever stayed in in Thailand, and we have stayed in a few over the last 25 years! The hotel only opened, post tsunami, last Christmas. It is beautifully landscaped on a wonderful part of the beach and very convenient to wander into the town . We had a superior room which was huge, cool and comfortable with a great bathroom and large balcony. Very modern and yet still traditional. The villas looked fantastic and the pool is gorgeous. The food was a big disappointment, breakfast was fine, the usual buffet, but the evening food looked great on the menu but was very bland when it arrived. I think it was toned down for the tourists as when I politely said that it didn t have the usual thai flavours, the waiter smiled a lot and said that many people didn t like spicy food. Regardless of the food, we would definitely go back and stay again, we had all the rest of our meals outside the hotel which was easy to do and cheaper anyway. We were there for Songkran and the staff really let their hair down jumping fully clothed into the pool or sea. Considering how much they all lost in Khao Lak in the tsunami, everybody was very upbeat and positive and they have worked so hard to get the hotels and restaurants up and running again. They are delighted to have the visitors back and it is a pleasure to be putting holiday money where it is most needed and appreciated. This hotel is a really good choice and great value for money."
Terje stayed at Baan Khaolak Resort on 2007-04-05 and said, "Thank you all nice people working at Baan Khaolak Resort. You makeing my holyday trip compleet.Nice rooms and good service. Spesial thanks too mr. Chai, who guideed us around."
Frances stayed at Baan Khaolak Resort on 2007-03-17 and said, "Beautiful hotel with delightful staff. A short walk into town (5-10 mins). The rooms were just lovely & once the newly planted tree s & shrubs grow the resort will be even lovelier. One problem we did encounter was the shortage of sunbeds on the beach. People claim their beds with towels then disappear for long periods. Don t think this is really the hotels fault though! The restaurant on the beach was very good & almost deserted in the evenings - excellent! & no better view to be had!"
A stayed at Baan Khaolak Resort on 2007-03-12 and said, "Really nice hotel with friendly staff. Unfortunately their english skill lack some.Stayed in a Seaview Villa and it was really really nice. Two comments though: 1) The breakfast was rather poor and all the food except the omelettes where cold. 2) There was note to put on the bed if we didn t need new sheets, but even though we didn t use it we still had the same sheets for the entire time...A big big big big plus for the ecp adventure tours (have a small office at the hotel) for their arrangements on tours!!!If we come back to Khao Lak we will probably stay here again."
Anne stayed at Baan Khaolak Resort on 2007-03-08 and said, "Perfect hotel. Great beach."
Chris stayed at Baan Khaolak Resort on 2007-02-25 and said, "We stayed in a 2 storey cottage and was very impressed with the size of the room. The hotel is new and so everything was spotless. The staff were all very friendly. The restaurant on the beach offered a large variety of food which was very good. The location is ideal being on a beautiful beach backed by a national park and also being on the edge of the village where there are many little shops and restaurants. We had a super holiday."
Morten stayed at Baan Khaolak Resort on 2007-02-11 and said, "This hotel was great! Large and modern cotteges with very nice bathrooms. The beach was excelent, the pool nice. The restaurant was also very good. Recomended!"
Ms stayed at Baan Khaolak Resort on 2007-02-07 and said, "Nice, clean & new resort! Tasteful decor inside room & around the compound. B fast was repetitive daily with the usual selection. Nice pool beside the beach and helpful staff with minimal spoken English. Those who intend to purchase a day trip to the islands can do so at the Resort itself (Eco-travel & Adventure) because it s good and very reasonable (cheaper than some found outside). The beach was clean and nice, pretty ideal for kids too! BUT be warned, some European guest during our stay had the odesity to wake up extra early to occupy their favorite beach chair! As early as 7.30AM! So if you can t beat them, joined them. Location was pretty good at the beginning of the main town stretch (Nang Thong Beach) where most shops and food places are within 15min walk."
Sandra stayed at Baan Khaolak Resort on 2006-12-24 and said, "The bungalow was beautifully decorated in a very elegant, simple style - due to the recent reconstruction, everything is brand new and the pool is also great. The mandatory Christmas Eve gala dinner was terrible, though, both the food and entertainment were disappointing. So stay any other night to enjoy this nice resort."
Marit stayed at Baan Khaolak Resort on 2006-12-23 and said, "Very nice hotel by the beach with friendly staff. Good pool area as well as pool restaurant ( good food although a bit more expensive than in the villge) where we usually had lunch. Good for kids, they loved the pool as well as the beach for swimming. I can highly recommend this hotel."
Kerstin stayed at Baan Khaolak Resort on 2006-12-13 and said, "sehr empfehlenswert, sehr saubere, kleine Anlage mit aufmerksamem Personal"
Veronika stayed at Baan Khaolak Resort on 2006-11-06 and said, "Unfortunately hotel wasnt ready when we arrived. Hotel is supposed to open end of November 2006. Difficulties and weather problems caused this delay. However it looked already very beautiful. Baan Khao Lak Team welcomed us very warmly and apologized many times for this convenience. They took care of us so that we were transferred to another good hotel. We will come back to Baan Khao Lak on our next Thailand tour and are anxious to see the completed Resort."
