Henry stayed at Areca Lodge on 2008-07-06 and said, "Hotel was outstanding. The room was clean, well maintained, and large. It was equipped with TV (40+) channels covering all major languages, refrigerator (2 free bottles water /day), electronic safe, and staff did a great job cleaning room every day. The hotel has two pools and both are beautiful and well maintained, with food and drink service. There is parking for cars and/or motorbikes if you rent one. The internet service on site costs 1 baht/minute about going rate in local pay for service centers. The staff is extremely friendly, and breakfast is great -- cereal, breads, juice, cook to order eggs, fresh fruits, choice of Thai dishes, coffee and tea. Many families staying here. Highly recommend and would stay again."

Mark stayed at Areca Lodge on 2008-04-27 and said, "It s a lovely place; really spacious downstairs, with two great pools and a large foyer. The staff were polite, courteous and discreet. The breakfast was ample, and the coffee strong and tasty. My room was a good size with a good view of the pool. The gym was pretty basic, but most people don t come to Pattaya to work out there. There was a mix of guests ranging from families to elderly couples to single male travellers. I d stay there again."

Not a big problem, since APEX is around the corner with a fantastic BF until 1 pm.The rooms are clean, the safe works very well, and I also liked the small balcony. Bathroom is small but very clean.Great location - very close to 2nd road and Mike s shopping mall."

Don t demand a pool view, as the village on the other side is a great source of entertainment and you actually can see how the local people live. Pattya is a lively place, but not the true Thailand. We spent 4 days in Kanchanaburi, at a back packers place called the Jolly Frog. No hot water, but super fun and right on the River Quai. Great value too, as a room is 280 baht per night, with air con. Thanks to all at the Areca Lodge for making our stay so enjoyable. Allan & Yvette. Church Fenton, North Yorkshire, United Kingdom."

Dr stayed at Areca Lodge on 2007-12-14 and said, "The air conditioner was extremely loud and created a loud, blowing sound every twenty minutes throughout the evening. As a result, I hardly slept the first night. I also found that, when I went to relax on the balcony, the machine wafted hot air into my face. I was not impressed with this at all--I went onto the balcony to relax. The receptionists were delightful as per usual and gave me a present on my birthday. Part of me wants to return just for this sort of service, but the air conditioning upset me so much that this was my last visit to this hotel."

Mitchell stayed at Areca Lodge on 2007-12-03 and said, "Best vacation in my life. Honestly, I was in the travel business for 16 years and the Areca is 3 Stars. Compared to a resort at $200 per night being 5 stars. I loved the location. It was pretty much in the center of the bar district but in a quiet corner so it was always peaceful at one of the two pools and in your room. The airconditioner was awesome. That s excellent for the price of about $1350 Baht per night or $50 USD. The rooms were clean and updated. Everything worked in the room. The staff was always accomodationing with any questions and problems. Nancy was the best. I would stay there again and every time."

Good location near 2.road and Soi Buakhao.The water in both pools could be a little bit warmer. Picking up the breakfast-voucher every morning is uncomfortable and is hopefully subject to change.All things considered: worth of price booked on Sawadee."

Also I stayed in building 2 Room X14 in the back of the hotel where they are building something. 3 cranes digging and moving things 7-8 hours everyday.If your companion for the night is under 20 yo. or has no ID with her then find another hotel they will not let her in."
