Mah said, "This resort is situated in Railay East, but has very easy access to the beautiful Railey West! The service provided was excellent, the staff was very friendly, as we had asked for an adaptor and had some problems with the key slot at first. They provided their service very promptly. Cheaper food can be found in Ya Ya resort, another hotel along Railey East, but in general I am very satisfied with my stay here."

Mr.siegfried said, "very nice bungalows , well furniged,in a beautifutl tropical garden. very friedly staff at the reception and in the restaurant!the food for dinner is ok , but you can find better choices walking along the beach. the hotel is ideal located between all beaches . i deffnetly come back to this resort with friend next year!"

Lloyd said, "Staff was very friendly and helpful. Although there were several warning against visiting during the low season (there was quite a bit of construction in progress in the area) the construction was not an issue. It rained almost daily but did not impede our plans at all. The room was all that was promised and the maids worked around our lazy morning schedule of coffee on the porch before venturing out for the daily activities."

Timothy said, "We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. We had a fantastic stay in a Tropical Villa Plus and we loved it so much, we changed out plans to stay on an extra night. We had to spend the last night in a Tropical Villa, but this was great too. We thought this hotel represented good value for money. If we go back to Thailand again, we would definitely head straight over to Railay to stay here again. It was worth paying the extra cash for the Villa Plus - it was quite an experience!!"

Yvonne said, "Vi hade bokat en Tropical Villa junior och den var helt OK, sängarna som vanligt HÃ.RDA! Extrasängen var bättre. Ute var det massor av mygg sÃ¥ vi satt aldrig vid uteplatsen. VÃ¥rt resesällskap fick en villa som det verkligen stank fränt i,sÃ¥ ta inte B2002(tror det var den, längst upp i raden iallafall) !! TrädgÃ¥rden var fint planerad och roliga växter o träd som även apflockar besökte, poolen var ren o fin men det luktade ruttna ägg ibland vid ena änden. Frukosten var OK men inte mer, ofta slut pÃ¥ olika saker. Restaurangen hade ganska god mat men servicen var väl inte den snabbaste, tror faktiskt personalen pÃ¥ hela ön var rätt trött pÃ¥ turister i slutet pÃ¥ säsongen. Standen gÃ¥r inte att bada pÃ¥ men det tar 5 min att gÃ¥ till västra sidan. I stort sett ett bra ställe för oss med tvÃ¥ barn 3 och 5 Ã¥r, lugnt o fint, dock inte värt mer än det kostade!"

Food very good in restaurant, especially local dishes!Good value - I would stay again. Short Walking distance to other beach for swimming and sunbathing plus boats to islands and Ao Nang."

Rowena said, "Thanks for a great stay and friendly staff. Great remote place that feels like you ve escaped the mass of phuket. Beautiful gardens and best of both worlds with pool and tidal marshes on one side and then a 5min walk through to the other side was a great beach. Do the walk up past where the rock climbers are to come out to another hidden beach. Really enjoyed the peach of this place and everyone seemed relaxed and good food along the beach front.If you do go get a speedboat there not the ferry. It took us 6hrs to get there by ferry and 2hrs by speedboat on way back!!!"

Resort and bungalow are very nice with a 10 minutes beautiful walk to the beautiful Phranang Beach which is much better than touristic Raillay west. Independently, where you stay on the Raillay Penninsula seven nights are just enough since there are limited number of restaurants, price level is 30-50% higher than anywhere else and service level at Raillay west restaurants are terrible. It´s also good to know that if you try to go to Ao Nang after sunset and back to Raillay the long tail boat charge is outrageous and difficult to get one."

David said, "This was our second stay at Sunrise Tropical Resort in the last 3 years. We love the Villa Plus Bungalows. Especially the outdoor showers. Staff and breakfast is great. Location on East Railey may not be for everyone but works well for us. Centrally located between dining on West Railey and Pranang Beach."

Very nice bungalows, good food, good service, nice pool. There are never a problem to get a sunbed at the pool. A very relaxing place to stay in. We would recommend this resort to everyone we know!"

Katja said, "It s been my 3rd time to Tropical Sunrise, so I must like it there. However in high season I don t recommend going. Rooms are overpriced (rooms that are normal ones in low season are called Junior Plus and charged more even though it is the exact same room, just you dont have a shower but a bath tub). Also now they ask 50% of the room price for late check out... And our aircon did not work properly - lowest was 25 degrees. It is still a nice place, staff is very friendly and are very attentive but rather go when it is less busy."

Maya said, "Beautiful resort and staff are very nice. Villas are kept well clean and are very spacious. Breakfast is not what you expect at such a resort; a bit simple and poor. So is the rest of the island. Restaurants all serve the same and are not very nutricious at all. Beach on Railay West is beautiful though and compensates a lot!"

Aaron said, "very friendly staff. good food in their restaurant. its on the east side of the bay (mud side) but only a 5 min walk to the west side. Very nice rooms. All solid wood floors and a very big bedroom. Probably the nicest hotel we said, "Quite a hassle to get there if you re unlucky (like we were) to arrive in boat at low tide and heavy rain.) Amazing, very spacious room with nice terace. Maybe not as private as teh tropical and herbal resort in Ao Nang, where we s in teh neighbourhood (chicken, bamboo, Tupa, etc..). If weather is not good, there is really not much you can do. Restaurants and bars are standard. Ao Nang has definitely more options and better quality food, but when sun is there, this is paradise. Overall we enjoyed it very much and would defintely recommend this hotel as the best in price and quality on Railay. (Hotels next door had loud generators next to room, and were mostly in the middle of being renovated.)"

Kevin said, "hotel is really nice and a good location for going to the beaches at railey west and hat phra nang (recommend).the beach at railey east is awful and its a muddy, sludgy walk for about 300 mts from longtail boat to the hotel at low tide;so take a rucksack.Apart from this minor journey I do recommend railey as a resort its a really nice place!!!"

The food in the restaurant is very good. One negative is the breakfast which could be improved upon. Overall the Sunrise resort is well worth the money."

Mary said, "The resort was wonderful. The staff is competent and efficient. Our suite was beautiful and immaculate. We had all of the conveniences we needed. The pool was delightful. We really liked the location on East Railay. It was quiet and peaceful. When we wanted more action and the beach, a quick walk took us to West Railay or Phra Nang. We ended our 3 week Thailand vacation at Sunrise and were very pleased. We look forward to returning one day."

Lee said, "Although the Sunrise Tropical is on the wrong side of Railay, it is only a short 3 minute walk to the beautiful beach on the West. We booked a Deluxe Room which was great, exactly as website photos. A good hotel but if we went back to Railay, would probably look at Railay Bay Resort and Spa, looked very impressive."

Antonia said, "According to me the most beautiful resort in Railay Bay. The bungalows are very beautiful, spacious and clean. The surrounding garden is just amazing and there is enough space between the bungalows to guarantee privacy. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is good. The pool is a bit small but there is a wonderful beach within 5 minutes walk. There you can also find some more restaurants and bars. However, if you are looking for an exciting nightlife, Railay Bay might not be the right place to go although there are boats which can bring you to Krabi town and other places easily and they are not too expensive. The hotel offers kayaking and a variety of trips to surrounding islands including climbing and snorkeling."

Ernst said, "A great place! Among the best bungalows i ve hoped to like it and we did. Nice refreshing pool, never crowded and enough loungers. Good variety at breakfast, chef making eggs to your liking. Superbly decorated and maintained rooms, we loved the outdoor shower, but of couse you pay for it. Plenty of room to have 2 children with you as is room for a single bed and the chaise can be made up as a bed. Do not worry about being in East Railay as all is 10 min walk anyway and East side is great at night. Overall loved the whole scene at Railay though expect it to be quite expensive for Thailand.Manager, Dean is extremely helpful, even managing to retrieve amy reading glasses fro PP islnd where they were left in a 500 baht bungalow. Never thought I;d see them again, but thanks to Dean they were found and sent over on boat that afternoon. If your budget stretches to this, stay here, you ll love it"

Lisa said, "This resort is wonderful. We had a Tropical Villa room and had wanted to upgrade to a Villa Plus room but there was no availability. We were not disappointed though. The rooms are very beautiful and we were surprised that they were much nicer than the photo s on the website. Although not on the beach side of Railey which we knew prior to staying there, the beach is literally only a 3 minute walk away. We were sad to leave and would love to stay here again."

The only problem was with Railay itself, and to a lesser extent the location of the hotel. There is a lot of new building going on at Railay which did ruin the ambience of the area a bit."

Emma said, "The transfer from the airport was brilliant, getting the long tail boat to the resort was a great experience. The resort itself was beautiful, the room was amazing and definitely worth the little bit extra for the outside shower. Was lovely to have a pool to come back to in the afternoon after the morning on the beach, and it was always clean and well presented. The staff were always helpful and friendly - although the restaurant lacked a little atmosphere and livelier places can be found just a short walk along the beach, the Drop Inn bar is great for a cocktail before dinner, so relaxed and chilled out. Would definitely recommend Sunrise and Railay Beach to anyone thinking of coming to this part of the world."

D.J.Stern said, "As retired people, found it difficult to get on and off the longtail boat that transported us to the Sunrise. However, lovely welcome, beautiful, clean and comfortable bungalow and very helpful service. I have a back problem and need 6 extra pillows and this was no problem unlike the Royal Orchid Sheraton in Bangkok! Lovely setting, great laundry service and staff very friendly.Food could be improved. Not impressed with breakfast or dinner. Better quality and cheaper meals available at the YaYa resort 2 minutes up the beach.Warning - this is serious chilling out country. Unless you want to climb or snorkel there is literally nothing to do, although the resort pool is very good. Suited us fine but might pose problems for others. All things considered we had a great time."

Rey said, "Sunrise was recommended by a friend, and I loved this little resort. It was quaint, unpretentious, and was good value. Staff were always very friendy. That said, here are some minor criticisms: Railay East beach facing tended not to be pretty at low tide but was a great view at breakfast. No worries - Railay West and Pranang beaches were a short walk away. I was a bit disconcerted by the loud hum of generators coming from next door but I eventually got used to it. Lots of construction materials littering the beach as well. Breakfast was so-so, dinner was also unremarkable. Try the other restaurants on Railay for better Tahi food. Seems to attract a lot of families with little kids - so don t count on this resort as being an adults-only getaway."

Susy said, "The Sunrise resort is absolutely fantastic. The Tropical Villas were wonderful, with the interior decor quite pleasant and very clean. Being located on the east side is not a problem as the west beach is less than a 5 minute walk away. Breakfasts were adequate, but the real treat of Railey is visiting the Yaya for dinners, (have them grill you a fish) and going to the Flame Tree on the west side for lunch, (the green curry is amazing). We paid the extra to be picked up and dropped off at the airport and it was totally worth it. You get your own private longboat when you do this and it s a great way to experience your trip in and out of Railey."

Shiri said, "The hotel is very nice in genenral BUT - The bathroom have a serious sewage smell probalem especially when it rains.It was a problem to contact the hotel via email even though we wrote our updated arirval time at the airport (for pickup) directly to the hotel s website (not Sawadee s site). So we ended up waiting at the airport for our pick up istead of them waiting for us. Although we recived a confirmation email acknowledging our new arrival time - no one showed up. we ended up calling the hotel and then it took anoth 20-30 minutes for the car to pick us up.The room wasn t ready when we arrived at 12:00 and it wasn t ready even after an hour and a half (13:30). Then we were given a room all the way at the back of the resort which had terrible construction noise. After 2 nights we moved to antoher room.The cable TV is totally not up to standard for such a hotel and the reception was very very bad. Since it rained during our whole stay period we ended up watching a lot of cable TV - but all we could watch was National Geographic since nothing else was working :("
