W. said, "Extremely disappointed with this place. It was the most expensive of 3 hotels we also the worst. The rooms are very overpriced even at low season prices. They are in a very poor state. We took a so-called beachfront room but it is in no way beachfront, barely even a view of the sea and at least a 5 minute walk to actually get down to the sea itself. The nearby bars play music until 1-3am every night and make no mistake when I say you can hear the music as clearly as if you had a stereo playing in your hotel room. The water stinks every time you run a tap or use the shower, I can confirm that another hotel extremely close to the viewpoint does not have the same problem as I is also very dirty, it is use primarily for training first time divers from the onsite Blue View Divers ...and now the good points...the Mojito Cocktail Bar, this was the only thing that made the stay bareable, possibly the best cocktails i ve ever tasted, Evan & Connie are a great pair and it s a shame they are stuck here at this resort. Also the staff here for the most part are very polite and friendly, then again, that is to be expected at the prices we paid."
PFK said, "DO NOT STAY HERE!! Two huge problems: 1) showers use salty /smelly ground water - don t buy their excuse that every hotel on Phi Phi has the same problem. We talked to plenty of travelers that did not have this problem and paid far less than us.2) extremely loud night club music until 2 AM kept us upHotel is generally very basic and not particularly clean. The pool has a nice view, and that s about it. The management seems to cut corners wherever they can. For example, we found a dirty / rusty screw inside our pillow. Mgmt said they are no longer placing orders with that supplier, but offered us NOTHING in terms of refund."
Bromiley said, "Phi Phi Viewpoint is one of the nicest hotels on the island. My wife and I did a lot of research before traveling to Phi Phi, and Viewpoint offered everything we were looking for: Views, Location, and Some Exclusivity. We were able to walk to town every morning, but were far away enough that farangs did not wake us up in the middle of the night. Rooms are very clean, service is great, we will be back to this hotel!!!"
krabi said, "finds that they have pretty good service as the hotel staff was waiting at the pier and help us with our luggage and direction to the hotel for check-in. was quite a distance walk but its worth it given the lovely view compensating the fact that there s no beach at your doorstep. open-air shower was good but only downside is sea-salt water but guess its the same in any hotel at phi phi island. definately value for money =D would recommend for those whom want a quiter rest-in after the a whole activity filled-day."
Michel said, "The choice of VPR could have been a very good one for many reasons : good location , at the end of Lo Dalam Bay where it could be very quiet although situated only 10 minuteswalk from the Ibiza-like Tonsai village center , pleasant and efficient staff ( not to say friendly : the lady by the reception desk in charge of booking tours) . Our Deluxe 2nd row a/c bungalow was sufficiently equipped 2 showers (the open air one is to be used preferably in order to avoid water smells in the room). Breakfast(menu) was OK although rather plain. You can order take-away. Very nice to relax in the small swimming pool in the evening, enjoying bay view. A big problem, though : a beach bar ( the Sunset bar) situated about 300 meters from the resort overwhelms the whole area with music turning to techno bass blitzkrieg till 2 a.m ( excellent when you have to get up at 7 for some excursion tour!) . Apparently everybody knows but nothing can be done to, at least, have them turn down the volume. In conclusion : good value , partly ruined by external disturbances ."

Gregory said, "Small pool a bonus. Views from it excellent. Tidal bay so be prepared for low water levels seaside. good booking service. Included breakfast nothing special really. Two types of hillside bungalows - un-renovated ( if you are looking for a cheapie ) and renovated ( on Sawadee). Even better views. Last resort on the bay to the northso a distance from town but nothing is far away on Phi Phi so not a real problem. You get met at the boat with a trolley & pusher for your luggage - no cars on Phi Phi. All in all about a 6/10."
Samantha said, "The hotel was lovely... excellent location as it was away from the main bustling town area so we managed to get a quiet night s sleep. The views were amazing both from the bedroom window and from the swimming pool. The staff were very nice and friendly, we loved the pool-side drinks we were able to order. The food was a tad expensive though but other than that we were very happy with our stay. Highly recommended!!!"
Elise said, "A resort with an amazing view over the bay but very overpriced and low standard. the rest of the room was in a bad standard. The breakfast was extremly poor, a selection of 4 small menues; for example 1) tea/coffee & toast 2) juice & yoghurt/mĂĽsli.They have a small poolarea with the same nice view.Good location though, by end of the beach on the hillside."
matthew said, "nice place, pool was nice and cheap fan rooms are clean and have great views. Only down point is they don t advertise taking your bags for you when arriving so we had to carry ours a long way in boiling heat. They need a clear sign. Island not all that, very crowded and abit intense"
Banu said, "we don t recoment this place to romantic couples.During the day there is a perfect sea view but in the afternoon everthing is change %100 cos of the tide.Rooms are simple and not clean enough.Pool is dirty and it s little bit bigger than bath tube. This hotel aiming high budget holiday makers but the servis and facilities are not adequate enuogh for the money you pay."
Jacqueline said, "Absolutely wonderful!!! I didn t know exactly what to expect after reading some mixed reviews, in fact, what do people mean by room is basic ?? What needs to be in a room where you ll probably spend a couple of hours of your entire day?! We got there and were greeted by everyone on duty. The room (superior bungalow air con.) was clean, spacious, had breathtaking views of Loh Dalum, 2 english movie channels plus the news, a soft bed with clean sheets, a fridge with sodas and free water bottles and a furnished balcony. So I don t get what the fuss is all about. Breakfast is simple, yes, but they have 10 different combos, so if you re there for 10 nights, you could have 10 different meals. The thing about the shower having no roof - it was a wonderful experience to take a shower under starry skies, I ll remember this forever. A very sad thing, a short walk from the hotel there s a bar that looks like Universal Studios that plays music into the night though no one is there. I didn t hear a thing from my room as I sleep through the night and the air con. blocks it out, but I heard a few people complainting about it during breakfast. But fortunately it has nothing to do with the hotel, and there s nothing they can do about it. The hotel is situated far enough from the crowds and close enough to walk back and forth for a little action. It s also a money saver cause you don t have to take longtails just to get out of the hotel - they are very expensive, not at all like people say. You can t really swim in Loh Dalum cause the longtails leave a lot of dirt and the water is so hot you feel you re inside a soup. But it s very picturesque. Nui Bay is quite close and for 600 baht they ll take you there. We ended up staying an extra night, we had such a great experience. I will definetely stay there again, even if it s not the cheapest in the area, it s just worth the asking price. Do take into consideration the hillside problem if you have mobility issues. Even if you re fit, it s just too hard to climb the steps. Overall, an excellent hotel. And all y all fussy people need to unpack yo bags and stay home!"
Heidi said, "The room was small, drab and dirty. I am certain that we could have found a nicer room for the money. The only positive aspect was it did have a decent view and a nice pool. We paid too much and I would not recommend."
Kevin said, "Viewpoint was a nice hotel located away from the hustle and bustle of Tonsai Bay but an easy walk. We really liked the view of the bay and the fact that it was tucked away. It would have been tricky to find if we hadn t been met at the ferry (great service) Breakfast was simple."
Gary said, "We had a wonderful stay at Phi Phi Viewpoint Resort. All the staff were very helpful, room was adequate, clean and serviced every day. Fantastic views of the bay from our room and from the beautiful pool. Just far enough out of town to avoid crowds. If diving at Phi Phi try the Blueview Divers located at the resort, they were very helpful and well run. Also make sure you try the fantastic cocktails at the poolside bar.Would definately stay there again on our next trip."
Rhiannon said, "Good but basic hotel in picturesque setting. Pool in fantastic location and breakfast very good. Be sure to book a deluxe room with air con otherwise you receive a mountain hike, fan only, no hot water chalet which is not very pleasant for more than one night. Be warned there is loud music from a bar very close to the hotel between 11pm and 2am, however, if you have the air con on full you can t really hear it."
Linda said, "We booked a Hillside Bungalow Sea View, with aircon because the Bungalow 2nd row wasn t available. Room really simple, nice view from the balcony. need spay for insects. Breakfast ok, nothing special. Really friendly staff. You can book tours, have massage. Have lunch and dinner in the village.. many restaurants. On the road to View Point Resort you have to pass the sewer, and this is not nice. Phi phi island is not so special as 20 years ago, rubbish everywhere (and not due to tsunami.. rather turists!) if you want to relax and a romantic stay don t book any resort near the village but if you re looking for a young nightlife it s you place, in this case we prefered the PP Casita Resort."
Enel said, "Hotel was nice and view was so beautiful.People are friendly. At night we were heard a lound music(disco music) not from Phi View Resort but one Pub on the beach. Other thing about Phi Island was so dirty on beach, streets and smell so bad.. So sad. A lot of european people and other turist that smoking everywhere. These people don t have any kind of education...Funny that they countries are ban smoking inside the restaurant. They came Thai and doing all bad things.."
Nicole said, "Great view of the Ao Lo Dalam. Staff was helpful in booking a longtail boat for the day. Amazing though small infinity pool. we got upgraded to a junior suite overlooking the bay for free! A little out of the Tonsai Village busy-ness but great if you like to get out of the thick of things. Still very convenient location (10 min. walk to anywhere in the village)."
Richard said, "At first I thougt that I would not like the hotel. I was a bit long from the pier, and in the heat it was very varm, and to go the last hill to the bungalow was hard! After that I think it was perfect.-Short walk to the beach-Nice small pool-Good bar and cheap good food-Nice view!-Friendly staffThe bungalow was clean and big!I would recomend this hotel for those who wants to relax and enjoy the sun and swimming."
Roussel said, "Good hotel, nice view, well located (5 mn from Phi Phi village ).A little bit noisy with the music coming from the bars located on the beach. Good service to carry the luggage from/to the pier."
John said, "Nice location! This hotel was ok, no more and no less. Nice room but no real door to the bathroom (you cant be shy), window to the shower and a really bad breakfast. Friendly staff. I liked it but i will try another next time."
Sean said, "EXCELLANT!!! i reccommend this hotel for people who want to be close to nature and a beautiful scenery, i got the beach front room which was elevated about 10 metres from the water but you could see the whole bay from the bedroom and a nice varandah to sunbake facing the sights. Highly recommend!!"
Jenny said, "We the sea view bungalows up a bit higher. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The rooms were adequate. The bathroom and shower in the second row bungalow smelled of sewage, and the room was very close to the restaurant and lobby area. Music played loudly through the afternoon and into the night, and it could be heard clearly from the room. The sea view room had a great view and was cleaner without unpleasant smells, but again, a band from the restaurant next door played music well into the night. I did not get a single good night s sleep while I was there. If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful time, this may not be the place. On a positive note, I had no problem with the reservations, and again, the staff was pleasant though they did tell me the music would stop early, and that did not happen."
Dana said, "What a lovely resort! We had a great time. We were in a quiet location and close to the in-house restaurant. The menu was large and the food extra delicious. The front desk staff were very helpful and accommodating and even got to know our names. We d definitely stay here again."
MARTIN said, "I i would recommend it for the price. The resort is located 15 minutes from the ferry point so if you have brought your whole wardrobe with you then make sure a porter is there to meet and carry your gear, backpackers should have no problems. All rooms are on a hillside, hence the title, Viewpoint, the fan bunglows are good for the price compared with others resorts i have visited in Thailand, the air con are twice the price, but save money and have a fan bunglow as long as you dont mind a cold shower, otherwise theres not much difference between the two. The views are fantastic, the best on the Dalum Bay area, however there are steps or a concrete path to navigate to get to your room, not for people with mobility problems. The small pool overlooks the beach and is lovely to relax in, staff very helpful, the breakfast has menu choice of bout 6 items, but it is adequate. Go to this place and just enjoy the view and nature, unless your the spoiled type who expects western pampering you will not be disappointed with here."
Maria said, "The hotel is ok, but overpriced. We paid 3100 for a AC bungalow. The strange thing is that towels are brown, not white (impossible to check how dirty they are) and don t absorb water. The linen was also not very clean and the water in the bathroom was gray and salty (sea water?). The only advantage of the hotel is nice view on the bay of Phi Phi. However climbing to bungalows requires some efforts. The check out time is 11 o clock and there are big penalties for the late check-out (it s written on the wall). The way to the hotel runs through dumps."
Kjell said, "We A/C. The room was very nice and clean and the view was breathtakingly beautiful. But the climb up form the reception area is not for everybody. You need to be at fair condition to make it.The best thing was the bar. We stopped there every evening for a drink or two or three. The resturant was nice and the prices OK.Will we stay here again. Most likely not. But if we do it will be the attration of the bar that brings us there. No if we go back to Phi-Phi we are more likely to stay on Long Beach, even if you have to use long tail to get back to the village. The main resaon for this is that there is no good swimming or snorkling near by the hotel, especially at low tide. Then the water retracs several hundred meaters from the beach."
Katarina said, "Although quite a walk from the pier, this hotel was really nice and with friendly staff. We had excellent view from our room and the bed was good, as was the breakfast and pool. Would definitely go back!"
Amelia said, "We we were pleased with our view over the mountains with a glims of the sea. The hotel had good standard, overall a good middleclass acomodation. Near the pool and poolbar (nice modern music) with a wonderful view where we whatched the sunset-enjoyd it toghether with a good drink! It takes about 10 minutes to walk to town . Breakfast was ok. There was a menu with 7 or more different combinations (I personally prefer a breakfast buffet)."
Kirill said, "We the view was exellent. Overall good service as most of the staff around could speak english very well. Only negative was the cleaning of the room. Basiclly not a hotel cleaning but a 5 minute clean the worste parts. We the ashtray on the balkony was never cleaned or the bottles not even the floor. And no safebox in the room only at frontdesk and it cost 20 bath to close it everytime."
James said, "Very unimpressed. Reserved beachfront seaview suite. View was great but room was not. Had to buy own toilet paper at 7-11. Renovations last fall were minimal. Breakfast was average at best. Liked location - close but not too close to main street .Though not affected by it, late checkout policy of ...after 11am tenant will be charged an additional day and must still vacate room by 1pm is unreasonable. Definitely not worth the 4700B/night even during peak season."
Francesca said, "We FANTASTIC VIEWS from the balcony. The service was great! Reception staff all speak English, there s a mini mart and an information desk where you can book any island tours and transport from Phi Phi to lots of other places. Best of all, the pool has amazing views of the beach, as it is located right next to the ocean. There is also the Mojito bar which by far makes the best cocktails on the island and they take your order and bring your drinks direct to the pool! I would definitely stay again - though next time in an A/C room."
Natasha said, "I thought this place was excellent. I enjoyed the breakfast. The room was good value and had an excellent view which I didn t expect."
Bianca said, "Highly Recommended! We were very happy with it. The service was great, staff very friendly, facilities were well kept and to top off, this place boasts the bests views of the whole island. The only downside is it is a trek from the pier (however most places are). There is a great bar which all guests must visit- great cocktails and bar staff make you want to stay for hours! Definately give this place a try. We ll be back!"
Robert said, " long walk uphill. Staff excellent - if you scuba try Blue View Divers at the hotel."
elaine said, "relly nice place staff very friendly bungloes very nice but if want a sea view be prepared for a walk up a steep hill but worth it waking up to that view every day overall good hotel ."
Rohit said, "The room was neat and staff was friendly... Away from the bustling crowd of Phi Phi still all facilities like internet/scuba/snorkelling/mini mart/bar restaurant available at the reception.... But as the name Viewpoint suggests, the view was not so great... The hotel compound is still littered with concrete waste appearently from the tsunami...."
Martin said, "The rooms are very much Ok. Service not so good. The feeling was just another tourist . Breakfest at the next door restaurant was poor.Best thing was the location, central but quiet."
Leonardo said, "I would recommend this viewpoint resort to all people that really love the nature. I palms is terrific! It s more convenient as well. Even if in Thai I would recommend to have eco much more than fan only. I would stay atain at PP Viewpoint surely."
Alison said, "This resort is in a superb location with beautiful views from the rooms; however the rooms are in desperate need of refurbishment. We paid over 2600 baht for a deluxe airconditioned bungalow. It was certainly not deluxe with shabby dilapidated furniture and a tatty ancient showeroom. On the plus side the hotel has free wireless internet and an excellent dive centre on site. We did some superb dives in very small groups with knowledgeable, enthusiastic guides. I hope this hotel refurbishes its accommodation because we would like to return to this spot."
Thomas said, "The bunbgalow was pretty okay for the price we payed i guess, since in my opinion most prices on Koh Phi Phi are higher than they ought to be. At the time we were just happy to have a place to sleep actually. The staff was pretty friendly ( like everywhere else in Thailand really :) ) but the serving of the breakfeast was most likely the slowest and most miserable ever. Twice i had to re-ask for my breakfeast after waiting in vain for 30 minutes, just to find out they had forgotten me, not very impressive considering we were 4 customers in the resturant at the time! We werent excatly in a hurry since we were on vacation, but still thats a long time waiting for a freid egg with toast. The most annoying thing though was the fact that a few lightbulps were broken in our bungalow when we arrived, and despite asking everyday for 5 days, they were still broke when we left. Also, theres was a real lack of toiletpaper, good thing we came prepared! (We reas said, "Very nice hotel! We had a really nice view from the bungalo-balcony. Some stairs to get up to the bungalo but for the view it s definently worth it! Nice poolarea! Staff were very helpful and kind, also the housecleaning boys were funny to have a chat with. About 5-10 min walk to the town-area and only a minute walk to the beach. Exellent place to stay! We will stay here next time! Regards Andreas/Henrik/Torsten from Sweden."
Joy said, "We were truly dissapointed with this hotel. It is very very tired looking. Our Beachfront room was 20 foot above the beach with no direct access down to the beach so we felt this was slightly misleading. The balcony was completely obscured by trees so there was no view and the wood was rotten to the point that my husband went through it! Holes in the sheets and dreadfully thin towels etc. Hot shower had next to no pressure so was useless. The staff were all very nice and tried there best but its just not a nice place, we would have moved after one night but it was New Year and the island was full to capacity."
Rosalind said, "We had a bungalow with a beautiful view in the front row overlooking the beach with only a garden in front. The resort is well situated on the hillside. The room was spacious, good air conditioning, though furniture and interiors were not new.The pool was lovely with rim flow views of sea and beach. The only complaint we had was that the breakfast was not good at all, we were given vouchers for 150 baht and had to pay extra for a very minimal average breakfast. We had were very sad at the devestation which is still very apparent on the rest of the island.Though there were lots of tourists. The beaches and sea are as gorgeous as ever."
Roberto said, "beautiful place, beautiful hotel, friendly staff, it was a very good experience"
Pierre-Damien said, "The hotel s situation is very very good, but the facilities, for example the toilet & shower room, were not up to our expectation. And then, the hotel is a little bit old..."
Gidon said, "We planned on staying 4 nights on the hotel and spent only 1 day because we were very very disappointed.First, the room was not clean - there was hair on the floor and in the sink and leftover of cigaretes on the porch. Second, the shower has no roof - this may sound as an exotic thai shower, but it lacks any privacy (people from the upper level rooms can see you).In addition, the decoration of the room was styleless. And finnaly - the breakfast was a disgrace. We got 100 Bahts worth copuns which we had to spend on the hotel restaurant was not sufficent even for the simplest breakfast on the menu, so we had to add quite a lot in order to have a decent meal. However, the upper rooms provide good scenary of the bay and the hotel has a nice swimming pool.Take into consideration that the hotel is a bit distant from central Tonsai bay and walking to the hotel is not so pleasant - especially at night."
Adam said, "Good resort but far from everything. Very far walk in comparison to everything else. More expensive too. Beautiful views though and a nice pool."
