You have to cook your own bacon, the first for me for the years I have traveled the world. Beds are hard like sleeping on a piece of wood, needless to say it was not very comfortable. The hotel location is convenient as it is near shops and restuarant, but it is in a poor location with respect the beaches. You need to walk out thru an alley to get out of the hotel. It takes about 5-10 minutes to get to the beaches. Buildings are not well maintained with poor workmanship I would not come back."

Tang stayed at Krabi La Playa Resort on 2008-06-30 and said, "Wonderful experience with the hotel. The pool was great. The staff there are very helpful to our request. The kettle jug boiling element had rust. I request for a new one. Though they had none, which is quite a shock when its a quite class hotel. However, they did their best in supplying us hot water every evening and morning at 430am for my last day. This staff, Yael, serve with great patience and helpful. ALways showing us the friendly smile. Overall, it was a great experience. Will definitely go back to same hotel for next visit."

Since we stayed many days we could maybe have wished for alterations sometimes though(!)Nice pool area and close to the beach and shopping area.At our stay there was a hotel being built next to Krabi la Playa, but the noise was not that loud and after a couple of days we did not even notice it.I can definetly recommend this hotel!"

Cecilia stayed at Krabi La Playa Resort on 2008-06-11 and said, "The hotel is not so fancy as it looks on the web site, it needs to be renovated on the outside and in the poolarea. The poolside-rooms were big, the bathrooms are very large and nice. The gym was a dissapointment and the free wi-fi did not work. Very good food in the Spieces restaurant and a great garden to play football in with the kids. Krabi did not have a beach were you can swim or sun, you have to take a boat out to the islands or stay by the pool."

Located between Ao Nang beach and a less populated beach. An easy five - ten min walk down to the middle of Ao nang beach and all the shops. Pool towels provided but have seen better days. VAT and service charge (around15%) added to food and drink purchases. Buffet Breakfast is good."

shannon stayed at Krabi La Playa Resort on 2008-05-25 and said, "My husband and i had a fantastic two weeks at Krabi La Playa Resort.The staff were very friendly and professional.The room we had booked was a superior room,it was a nice big room,very clean and well maintained.We had a kingsize bed,which was quite hard in the middle,as the bed was in two pieces facing the wrong way.This certainly did not affect our holiday.The hotel was in a very central part of Ao Nang Krabi,very accesable to all restaurants and bars and shopping.Highly recommend this hotel,very good value for money."

Glory stayed at Krabi La Playa Resort on 2008-04-20 and said, "Value for money.Deluxe room was big,clean,well decorated and clean toilet.The hotel is cosy and the ambience is soothing.Swimming pool is greatand big.Reception is also friendly.10 minutes walk to Ao Nang and shopping area.You can walk to Ao Namg beach and book yr island hopping or just take it from Krabi La Playa.My 2 freind and I had a wonderful stay .As said by some reviews the water pressure in the bathroom 5th flr was inconsistent,just have to be careful other than that will recommend this hotel .It will be good if you can get Deluxe room A or B"

Julie stayed at Krabi La Playa Resort on 2008-04-16 and said, "The hotel was excellent and made our first visit to Thailand a most memorable and enjoyable experience. We stayed in a poolside deluxe room which I would recommend to anybody. The room was very clean and comfortable. Its in a great location, about 50M from the main area of Ao Nang. Breakfast was superb with a large selection of dishes though the egg chef did make a mean omelette! The staff, I can t praise highly enough,they always had a smile for us and were polite and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them. In all I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Great service, great location, beautiful gardens and a lovely warm pool. What more can you ask for?"

Bernard stayed at Krabi La Playa Resort on 2008-04-16 and said, "Could not have the room requested as the hotel was full. The alternative provided was more than adequate. Size of room with balcony was generous although a little sparsely furnished. One problem with the water system is that when other rooms were using water the pressure dropped and the water temperature in the showers changed dramatically. Swimming pool is excellant as was the pool bar service. Buffet breakfast was great."

Claire stayed at Krabi La Playa Resort on 2008-04-02 and said, "When we stayed here the hotel was quite quiet. We were grateful that our room was on the top floor as we had plenty of privacy. There is no privacy on the bottom floor for rooms that had pool access as the balconies are overlooked by the sunbathing areas. The breakfast and room were nice. Can see that the water temperature could be an issue if you enjoy a shower rather than a bath. We were surprised by how small the pools were and there weren t many sunbeds. Overall, we enjoyed it but probably wouldn t stay there again as there is nowhere to escape any loud families that turn up as we experienced on our last day. At least if you had a hotel on the beach or a separate pool you have the choice where to sit! It is conveniently placed for Ao Nong and the shops etc."

The deluxe at 4th and 5th. floor have water pressure problem. Your complain will not be entertain as it is a normal complain. Will not stay there again as i got hurt by hot water a few times."

The staff upon checkin were friendly and helpful and always had a smile through out the week that we stayed there. We stayed in a Pool Delux B room which had access to the pool and it was worth every cent we paid. The pool was clean and we had a lot of fun in it. The pool bar staff were friendly and did every thing to accommodate our needs.The rooms were large and clean and had all the things we required to make our stay a pleasant one. The resort could do with a coat of pant but this is only a minor concern. Overall our stay was great and we had a great time. We plan on returning to Krabi in a few years time and I would be happy to stay here again. Thankyou to the staff at the La Playa for a great week."

But, our toilet didn´t work properly on the hole week and the staff blamed us for putting tissues in the toilet and we didn´t. There must be a problem with their drainpipe-system, both our toilet and the shower had stops during our week and that spoiled a lot of our time in Ao Nang. Next time we are going to Ao Nang we will choose to stay in a smaller hotel with a more personal staff and a location near the Railey Beach."

There is no mosquito in the day but night may be one or two. Breakfast can be better. During the peak season don t expect late check out after 1pm. Location is ideal as it is not in the main road. So it s quiet and no noise from the busy town.There s also a free rental DVD at your service. I d highly recommend La Playa Resort and would definitely be back again."

Alanna stayed at Krabi La Playa Resort on 2007-10-30 and said, "For the price of this resort, i would not recommend it. we stayed in backpacker places for months and so we are not fussy. but this place is supposed to be a resort and we found the staff unfriendly, especially the ladies in reception, the cleaners in our room usually forgot something like leaving us towels or forgetting to give us our daily drinking water. the breakfast was good. the outside of the resort buildings are rundown and need a paint. the resort is not on the beach, but can walk for about 10mins to the beach. if i was paying this much again for a resort i would stay somewhere else. Also, a massive thing for us was that none of the equipment in the fitness room actually works... it s like they have bought second-hand equipment and all of it has problems and is unsafe. i tried to ask someone to fix the treadmill and each time they would tell me it was working... it was working but would stop and start and was very unsafe... a hotel should not advertise having a fitness room if the equipment does not work properly!"

Peter stayed at Krabi La Playa Resort on 2007-10-21 and said, "We had a deluxe room on the top floor, everything was great, the only troubles we had were: hot water in the shower was intermittent, the hotel shampoo and bath soap was no good, breakfast got a little boring after the fifth one."

It was unfortunate that renovations being undertaken especially room upgrades and the main pool detracyed from waht was otherwise an enjoyable stay. Shaqeelah stayed at Krabi La Playa Resort on 2007-07-08 and said, "We have just returned from a stunning holiday at Krabi La Playa Resort - Excellent hotel rates for low season - We were upgraded to a delux A room which was very nice for the kids. We had read on a previous review that mosquito s were a problem - which they still are so we bought mosquito repellent which worked!!!Overall the hotel is in a great location, hotel food was good but if you have kids this hotel is really great with the swimming pools."

I reserved a oceanview room but the room we wre assigned first did not have any view of the ocean. After asking to change the room and waiting for one day we got a better view room. Pool is fine. Breakfast is reasonable. They allow us to use a shower after check out. Good service. We will go there again."

Room is excellent,although the acces to the jacuzzi/pool could not be closed from our room nr 118. So not totally safe for small children. This has to be fixed.Good service in the hotel, reception and restaurant.Housekeeping not always that good, sometime the forgot to bring towels..We can definitely recommend this hotel and we will stay here next time for sure!The hotel organises a cooking class, very nice to attend!"

Alison stayed at Krabi La Playa Resort on 2007-04-21 and said, "On our arrival one of the rooms that we booked was unavailable and we were given a free dinner and a room with fantastic views of the ocean.The resort was situated a short walk to the shops. great for exercise. Stayed in Deluxe with pool, was spacious. Food at resort was good though you can find food outside resort for cheaper. Ao Nang is a quiet location with nice beaches. More Family orientated than Phuket. Had a small hassle with a tea cup and saucer when we left as it wasn t in the room, we explained that room service had taken it though took 15 minutes for them to understand."

Poolside deluxe A rooms are nice for the fact that they lead directly into the main swimming pool by virtue of their own personal jacuzzis. Room and bathroom were both spacious. Hotel staff were also very nice to offer use of a checkout room for shower facilities as our flight was only at 6pm while checkout time was at 12 noon."

The personell is perfect, they helped us in any way it was possible, even when the hotel was filled up as it was most of the time.We have no spent 32 days at this hotel ad we will be back next tine we visit Ao Nang. The staff were friendly, we were upgraded to a spa room and the resort was located right near the main street and water, but felt like we were miles away from the tourists. We are already talking about spending our 1st anniversary at Krabi La Playa. Everything is closer in Krabi than it appears on the maps."

Peter stayed at Krabi La Playa Resort on 2007-01-20 and said, "We stayed here from the 20th Feb to the 27th Feb.We booked a Poolside A with whirlpool in August last year, upon arrival we were told it wasn t available for the first 3 nights and we had to accept a lower grade room, we were not happy with this and after a lengthy discussion were offered a 2000 baht refund. The standard of service was lower than any other hotel we stayed in during our 25 nights in Thailand, the room wasn t always cleaned and restocked correctly, there was no drink/food service to the poolside sunbeds, we wouldn t use this hotel again."

Magdalene stayed at Krabi La Playa Resort on 2006-11-23 and said, "Very helpful staff, hotel nicely laid out with good size pool and lovely gardens. Deluxe sea view rooms afford decent views of the Andaman Sea. Hotel however could look better with a new coat of paint."

Celest stayed at Krabi La Playa Resort on 2006-09-06 and said, "Stayed from 6-11 Sep 06 in Pool deluxe A with whirlpool. We had connecting rooms & king sized beds. (2 families with 3 babies aged 1,2,3).Things to note:1. bring insect repellent for room & body. Resort surrounded by construction so may be cause of mosquitos in rooms2. breakfast spread ok if you re not fussy3. book Pool Deluxe A with whirlpool if possible. Pool is bigger than that of the one without the whirlpool.4. bring along a piece of string to tie the gate leading to the pool from the balcony. the latch in both our rooms were broken, very dangerous if you have kids around.5. bring along a piece of handsoap for the toilet. during our stay, only 1 room had a piece of soap. when we requested for more, we were told they ve ran out & supply is not in!6. bring string to hang clothes if you intend to wash/ dry your stuff. there is no string in the toilet.7. dvd player provided in our rooms (not sure if others have that)8. bring & USE sunblock & moisturizers if you don t want to return home looking like you just came out of the oven! (ie. black & charred!)Wonderful to have our balconies leading into the pool! overall, stay was nice minus the MOSQUITOS!"

No safe (not that it was required)Pool: One of the best I have experienced in ThailandProximity to beaches/restaurants: less than 10 minute walk to two beaches and a multitude of places to eat and drink close by.Breakfast: A great buffet, many options and a fabulous setting (make sure you give the fish some bread - they love it)"

Peter stayed at Krabi La Playa Resort on 2006-04-17 and said, "We stayed as a party of four adults in two poolside access rooms. We all agree that we would reccomend and stay there again. Our only criticsm would be the much hyped party night that we attended. it started at 7:00pm and then just as it started to get going, following a few singer beers it finished at 9:00pm.The staff are all very friendly and helpfull, especially Sam and Sandy in the poolbar. The location is not bad, Its a short walk to the beach and nightlife,or if you prefer a two minute tuk tuk. The best beach close by is easy to find, just leave the hotel and walk with the beach on your right, keep going until you hit a row of beachside massage huts, approx 18 in total. we chose number three, they sweep the beach, provide mats and fresh fruit and drinks all day long and give the best massage all for 200 baht each.There are probably more expensive hotel options in Krabi, but the La Playa is clean,well presented and good value for money."

Breakfast is reasonably good but small variety.Bad: Staff can t speak much english. Quite some walking distance to anything. Comfortable if not for too many mosquitoes in room."

G stayed at Krabi La Playa Resort on 2006-04-15 and said, "Our first impressions was that the photos we have seen online etc of the resort raised our expectations too high. The resort was not as stunning as the photos depicted. There is paint chipping and marks on walls, overall it was looking a little run down. The best feature is definately the pool, I would say the best in Krabi. We initially got hurried into a room which I knew was not the one I booked (a pool access A with whirlpool), upon questioning we got told the room I booked (and already paid for) was not available. The next day we moved into the correct room (with some persuasion). Happier we were in the correct room, but we could hear everything through the connecting door to the next room. The breakfast was ok, with alot of leftovers from the night before, but the staff were lovely. The location is good with a short 5-10 min walk to the beach and shops. The fitness centre was just a few machines in a closed off room, not very comfortable at all. The tour group we had looking after our transfers kept getting told by the Reception staff that we had not booked into the hotel so they couldnt contact us, we had to track them down in another resort across the road. We had a look at the other resorts in the area and this one was the only one in a bright, modern style that appeals to us. Even with these few disappointments it grew on us by the end of the 7 days and we were happy with our choice of resort and would stay there again, good value for money overall."
