Bourdouleix stayed at Krabi Sands Resort on 2008-02-21 and said, "Great service and friendly staff. Not a great place for kids though. The restaurant is across a busy road. The beach is rocky and not good for swimming. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. Great pool."
Mark stayed at Krabi Sands Resort on 2007-10-22 and said, "This is an ideal place if you like a small peaceful and friendly resort. Rooms are clean and pleasant and had all we needed. The pool and setting was the outstanding feature. The location is out of town but the staff on receotion were so helpful in arranging trips (for which pick up from the resort was included). The staff kindly allowed us a late check out as we had a late departure - we were there in low season and the room wasn t booked that day."
M.C. stayed at Krabi Sands Resort on 2006-12-30 and said, "Krabi Sands resort is a real nice place to stay. The rooms and the pool are surrounded by a beautiful garden. If you are looking for a quiet place to stay this is the place to be. In the restaurant they serve very nice food. If you are looking for more action you have to go to Ao Nang which is about a 15 minute drive from the resort and it is costing you about 400 bath (one way). For us (a family with 2 children at the age of 6 and 8 years old) a stay of 2 night was sufficient."
Gary stayed at Krabi Sands Resort on 2006-09-13 and said, "Rooms and facilties were very nice & well looked after and staff were very friendly. The restuarant had great food, the best we ate in our 2 week stay in Thailand. The only negative comment is that the beach is a bit lousy and the taxi fares to & from are a bit exorbitant."
Capocci stayed at Krabi Sands Resort on 2006-03-09 and said, "ottimo albergo, molto tranquillo, per chi vuole tranquillità è l ideale soprattutto con bambini piccoli. C è Jos uno dei dipendenti è cordiale, disponibile, simpatico e molto gentile, vi potrà sicuramente aiutare per qualsiasi problema. Un pò lontano da Krabi, per il mare è meglio andare ad Ao Nang e dintorni, altrimenti state in albergo con piscina favolosae la sera passeggiata ad Ao Nang anche per mangiare, non mancano ristoranti italiani-"
Jamie stayed at Krabi Sands Resort on 2005-11-01 and said, "This resort was great, clean, well presented and service with a smile. They were always keen to please. The location is quite a way from the more popular beaches which was initially a draw card however the whole area is under construction with other places being built leaving it feeling a little less secluded. The actual beach is not the nicest in Krabi either with rocksand stones along the shore. It is close to beautiful Hong Island though and the resort rented out scooters so we were able to go explore other parts of krabi. If you want some exciting night life this ain t the part of krabi for you."
karenlee@singnet.com.sg stayed at Krabi Sands Resort on 2004-12-18 and said, "We were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and the well kept greenery around the resort. It was a perfect place for a family with small kids as there were lots of space for them to run about. The resort is quiet and exclusive, away from the busy towns. Moreover, the friendliness of the staff bought further pleasure to our stay. Especially Mr Yong and the lady at the front desk. We have been so delighted with our stay that Krabi Sands Resort will definately be our choice for future visits to Krabi."
Nurashikin stayed at Krabi Sands Resort on 2004-12-17 and said, "I m horribly saddened by the news of the devastation that swept Thailand s southern coasts and I really hope people will continue to support the Thais in their hour of need, as they have been nothing short of wonderful to us during our stay. This is my two-cents worth of the Krabi Sands resort. Overall, it s wonderful in the idyllic sense. It s well-maintained, close to the nature reserve and most units overlook a beautiful freeform pool. It feels luxurious yet cosy, as the staff really treated us with warm welcome and was ever ready to assist us with our travel queries. Its beachfront restaurant has a great ambience and serves yummy Thai food, though it was a little too expensive for my taste. One thing though, it is FAR up north from Ao Nang. If u re renting a jeep, ok, but taxi rides r expensive(450B one way). Either plan ur day well to minimise transport costs or book e reasonable tours n spa packages thru e resort, which includes free pickup to & fro Ao Nang.(we did that) Overall, great place to wind down and relax for friends and family, not for crowd-loving party-goers. Do stay here for the exclusive hospitality."
John stayed at Krabi Sands Resort on 2004-12-07 and said, "The Krabi Sands descriptions are accurate and the hotel offers exactly the level of accomodation (new, small / personal, clean, relaxing) it claims. Some mobility will be useful as the tidal beach is not perfect for swimming. As such though, the small resort represents excellent value for money."
Matthew stayed at Krabi Sands Resort on 2004-11-23 and said, "We had a great 2 weeks here. We were with our 2 older children and our 18 month old baby. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were great and the pool fantastic. It was good staying in a quiet village location away from the hustle and bustle of Ao Nang. The locals were also very friendly and kind. The only negative was the almost continuous noise of trucks heading to and from the Gypsum ship loader down the road."
Mr stayed at Krabi Sands Resort on 2004-11-17 and said, "Accomodation: Decent chalets which were recently renovated. Lovely manicured grounds with a small yet sufficent pool. The only real dissapointment was that the TV chanels were all local Thai, no English news or movies. So don t plan on stay in-doors or expect the kids to be entertained with just the pool cos there is no TV for them to watch. A lot of care was taken into the decoration of the resort and its surroundings. Simple yet nice. Raid the mini-bar in the room cos the prices are pretty reasonalble.Staff: The staff were all friendly and accomodating kudos to their manager Jos who always went out of his way to make all guest feel like the only guest. His assistant Jan also made us feel right at home. The wait staff at the resort resteraunt made every effort to please you and were too very pleasent. The only dissapointment was the owner Mark an Englishman(which you get to see everyday) He was distant and aloft, perhaps its just his personality or perhaps it was because he only mixed with his kind . Even the gardeners and cleaners were warm and friendly despite the language differences.Food: Good attempts were made for both local Thai and European food, the prices were very reasonable.Area: Now this is a real dissapointment. The brochure and the ture reality are slightly misleading. The restraunt was not located withing the main premisis and you had to cross a small 2 lane dusty road to get to it. The beach front was also located across the road and was most definatly not swim-able. The sand was dirty and the waters...well... let s just say that you d need to do the island hopping in order to enjoy the sandy white beaches and clear waters. This fault however is not unique to the resorts in Karabi, most of the beaches featured in the brochures are not the resort s beaches nor are they the beaches that are easily accessible. They are the great beaches of the islands and islets surrounding the main land... 20- 30 mins (or more)away.Beach: Most beaches off the main land were nice. Different islands had differned types of sand, some very shelly some just powder white. Remember this is a highly populate Thai muslim community so do be respectable and aware of where you do you nude sunbathing. There were a number of inconsiderate individual (ladies) who bared their boobs infront of kids and consertive locals with utter dis-respect.Resort Guest: Ranged from familys with infants & young children to lovers (both straight & gay)or retirees. Mostly of European guest. The surrounding population were a majority of Thai muslims as opposed to Bangkok s high majoirty of Thai Budhist so there is a slight difference in culture which makes this place truly unique.Securtiy: The resort employes an armed guards after sunset. With additional security just moments away (so they say).Tips: Bring a good book (or two), a large brimmed hat & sunglasses, an umbrella, lots of sunblock or tanning oil and most definatly insect repellent. If you want a varity of food and some local & small brand type shopping, then do expect to spend a lot of time at Ao Nang - the more commercialized area. Other then that if you re easily pleased, the pool and a good book & lots of bedroom activity will surfice :)"
