Anonymous stayed at Kaw Kwang Beach Resort on 2008-07-07 and said, "I don t recommend this resort. Simply because I saw better resorts on Koh Lanta driving around town. The location of Kaw Kwang was inconvenient to get to and from. The staff was not professional and the resort lobby/reception area needs maintenance. It may have to do with the fact that it was low season but I like professionalism and a well-kept resort during my trip regardless of when I decide to travel. The delux room was good quality for the money. My friend stayed in the Standard A/C room and said it was too small."

The Beach is very beautiful and good for swimming but only until about 12 o clock. Afternoon starts low-tide. The water goes away very far. Sandy fine beach, very clear water, up to nearly 2m depth. Somewhere i read that there are 3 beaches, which is true, but 2 of them can not use for swimming, because there are only rocks. Behind the resort there was a big construction (maybe a new hotel), but we never heard any disturbing noise. The Pool is directly nearby the beach. It is a very good pool, some part is deep water, some not for children. There is also a jacuzzy. Quiet good place..."

You could not ask for a nicer beach - long, clean, gentle or now waves. Snorkeling off this end of the beach really is pretty good. The pool was fantastic - right at the beach, warm and clean. The staff in the restaurant is friendly and attentive. The food is good and fairly priced. Breakfast buffet is a bit heavy and can get monotonous, but is convenient and included in the price. Rooms are 3*, but spacious and clean and have good A/C. Go for one of the beachfront bungalows at the end of the beach, they are the best. Overall, we would love to stay at Kaw Kwang again."

Kaw Kwang Beach Resort is especially good for family bookings where children are smaller (0-6 year) if parents want to relax a little bit. This due to the nice beach where water is shallow and no waves. Staff is friendly and rooms are what you can expect for the price paid. No problem during our time here with thefts and that is showing that hotel is doing what they can to protect the customers.Will definetly go back here for more relax time when time allows it. Thanks to the staff the resort made the vacation extra ordinary."

Only problems seems to be the sunbeds (mixed new and old) and the reservations about them (people block for many days with their towels)."

We were there for New Years eve and had a great time - the celebration was nice, but the scene 2 km further down the beach is where the action really was - fireworks, music and hot air lamps being released by the hundreds. Kaw Kwang is secluded and we liked that for the peace and quiet. The beach is calm and flat - not too much for snorkeling. More waves and better snorkeling towards south end of island. We struggled with the mosquitos in our room and the breakfast buffet needs some improvement. Overall good value and we would return to Lanta just for the scene on the beach during New Years."

The beach is not the best, very, very long shallow. There restaurant is not so good, they have no fresh jouice, and now milkchakes fore example, poor breakfast. I ges its a good choise for familys with kids"

Trina stayed at Kaw Kwang Beach Resort on 2007-12-12 and said, "good location, great pool next to beach, rooms big & clean and facing sea, big balcony, beach private and quiet, green & ,nice surrounding, good and reasonable food,good b/fast.construction behind hotel so better get rooms facing sea. water heater/pressure no good. took whole night to repair our water heater. no kettle for making hot drinks in room even for deluxe room! have to walk to kitchen to get hot water. slight smell of sewarage coming fr bathroom, need upgrading. beware of huge mosquitoes! no free shuttle to town. Still some contruction around hotel....may be better in a few months time."

The swimming pool is fantastic - it looks out over the beach - perfect for sipping cocktails. There is a restaurant, however, we preferred walking along the beach each night visiting different restaurants along the way. Staff at Kaw Kwang were friendly and there is a travel agency on the premises."

The accommodation was excellent for the price, the food was good and all the staff was friendly and helpful. Other people my complain about the building work that was going on, but you have to remember this family run resort was destroyed by the tsunami so you have to give them a chance to rebuild. I will be going back."

Tim stayed at Kaw Kwang Beach Resort on 2007-08-14 and said, "Both good and bad to follow. We were met by a big nice van at the airport (expensive) and taken to the resort. Rainy season so lots of mud especially since there is construction all around and in the resort itself. Walked into the room and two roaches skittered across the bed. Okay, I ve lived in the tropics before. But the ants were the thing that bugged me the most. Jillions of them. Good stuff- beds new and comfy, staff helpful and attentive, quiet (except for construction noise during the weekdays), and tasty (but somewhat limited menu) food. Good swimming beach during high tide. Sand good. Some other bad stuff. bathroom drains slow (offered to change rooms but all of the drains were slow), didn t clean the bathrooms very well, motorbikes not well maintained (chain broke on one, could have caused an accident), lots of trash on beach which I think is a Koh Lanta problem. Otherwise, this was our first trip to Thailand and we enjoyed ourselves but kind of spendy overall."

Great piece of heaven on earth, we went in low season, it was FANTASTIC,few people on the island,cheap rates and offers everywhere,great welcome and service at Kaw Kwang resort,the staff are students who are still learning but they work hard to please their guests,everyone was so friendly and helpful from the lady who was cleaning the room to the owners...We will be back to that resort for a longer period next time...yeah and we only took 4000 pics on our 10 days trip!"

It s the last resort at the end of the beach, so there is really peaceful end quiet there! The pool is perfect, overlooking the beach. The people working there is extremely nice, and I miss them allready. Allthough their english is not perfect, they try to understand anyway. The bungalows are nice and cosy, the bathroom big (but smells a bit). Really good food in the restaurant, but it is cheaper if you eat in the town (Saladan). Overall a very peaceful and charming resort, and I m going back to the same place and same resort next year!!"

Nice garden (resto could be better but it is not so important for us)Hoel has been serioulsy damaged by Tsunami and is not completely rebuilt but we were very happy there and sure will go back."

And the restaurant is great along with such a wonderful and serviceminded staff. The best resort at Koh Lanta, no question about that!"

Our room was pretty basic for a luxury room, and even though we were on our honeymoon we got booked into a room with 2 single beds!! It was clean and tidy though, in a great location opposite the pool and beach. The bathroom was disappointing though, the water was a trickle and it was impossible to get a constant temperature. Food at the restaurant was yummy and reasonably priced, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent massages in their massage huts too!!"

The staff at the hotel are brilliant. Very helpful and attentive to the guests needs. Although the view is great and the infinity pool is very nice, the sand on the beach is very compact and the ocean isn t ideal for swimming; no waves and a rocky bottom. However, if it s a tan and some pool time you re after, I would recommend the Kaw Kwang very strongly."

Adam stayed at Kaw Kwang Beach Resort on 2006-03-25 and said, "Wonderful small family run resort away from most of the other resorts on the island. If you are looking for a place that is friendly, clean, with small adorable bungalows, this is it. It has a beautiful infinity pool with a waterfall feature overlooking the bay. The beach is not the best on the island, but the privacy and serenity this place offers overshadows this aspect. There is some construction going on as this area was hit by the Tsunami, but the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff certainly makes up for it. Although at first glance it might appear that the food is no good since there is no real restaurant to speak of, but I can assure you that you will be pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of what is offered. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing holiday at a resort that is relatively inexpensive, with a staff that is warm, friendly and honest, this is the place to go. Thanks for a wonderful stay. We ll be back for sure."
