JEFF stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2008-01-02 and said, "Lovely resort and very new. Very good service and as big and varied a breakfast I have ever had as an inclusive. 2 small problems. Being an Islam resort there is no liquor, but the biggest problem is finding it! Hurry up Tom Tom so we can locate it easier."
URKO stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-11-27 and said, "The hotel it´s a bit far from ao nang beach (5 minutes) but is very easy to take a tuk tuk. It´s quiet and confortable, staff very friendly."
Lyn stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-10-17 and said, "A small and quiet resort that is away from the main area/road. The room is nice and clean. 5mins walk to the main road and the restaurants but it is dark at night and passby construction sites. Pros: Nice room, nice green scenary and pool view from room.Cons: Location not that good."
Pang stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-09-29 and said, "The hotel is a small but very well designed. With only twenty rooms, you do not feel crowded or overwhelmed. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Most of which are locals. Despite the hotel being a bit further from the main road, it helps to keep the serenity and quiet. The room is cozy and practical. Only complain is the bed was a bit hard. Otherwise, the hotel is excellent. Compared to Phuket and KoSamui, Ao Nang is quite a small place. The development seems to pickup with quite a far bit of construction everywhere. Most people will take the longtail boats to island tours or to Railey to better beaches and scenery. In general, Ao Nang and the surrounding islands are very scenic. I think its an alterative to the highly developed Phuket."
Ronald stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-09-15 and said, "Nice little hotel. New and clean with very friendly staff. The price was very affordable in low season."
Ann stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-08-14 and said, "A quiet little beautiful hotel between ao nang beach and nopparata beach. With very nice and friendly employies ( they helped us with our son when he has hurt his foot and needed a doctor, the manager followed us to the hospital and pharmacy), speak english very well. Nice pool and good food in the restaurant. A small walk to the ao nang beach. we liked to stay here and will stay here again if we will be back."
GUENARD stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-07-31 and said, "Very nice small boutique hotel. Rooms clean and newly furbished. Nice pool: clear with crystal water. But care of the bill at the end of your stay, You will have to check everything"
J.H.M. stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-07-14 and said, "The resort is excellent, the room, big en very clean. further the staff was very attendant, also for special things to arranged for the birthday off my girlfriend. breakfast and coffee are good, Diner you cann make in hotel , better and cheaper as outside the hotel. They cooking very good. good valueu for money. I will come back in this resort. It is lucky because prices in low season are payable."
Tan stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-07-12 and said, "I would recommend Duang Jai Resort to people who like to stay in a resort where you want to have privacy and quiet getaways as there are only 20 rooms. We stay there for 5 days and 4 nights. First of all, when we reached the airport, we had a very friendly guy that drove to our resort. The receptionist was very friendly, recommended to us where are the places we should visit. And every morning, the staffs will greet us and asked how was our sleep last night. The resort is quite a new resort, where the room was beautiful, exactly the same as we seen on the website. It has all the facilities that needed, such as kettle, safe box, fridge, hot water etc. I also particularly like the thick quilt blanket as it is very comfortable to cover with at night. The pool though is not very big, but it s beautiful and there s a jacuzzi too. From the resort to the main road, it s only 5 minutes walk, and there are lightings along the way in to the resort at night. So it s quite ok, it s good to have a short walk after a meal. So it s a great place to stay in, we would definitely go back there the next time."
Ann stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-06-28 and said, "nice hotel but not really as mention facing the beach, has to walk about 5mins out. Convenient to go shopping and great staffs. nice room will be better if they check all toiletries are there for all rooms (we book 8 rooms for 16people). and to check that tv and air-con is working well.overall consider as not too bad and worth for the price"
Mardiana stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-06-01 and said, "The resort is amazing. Super friendly staff, huge rooms and superb balcony. The breakfast is not much but the ambience made up for it. Be prepared to walk a little bit to the beach. And you can get to krabi town for 40baht per person if you take the bus which stops on the road right outside the hotel at the stone benches near the jetty."
Tian stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-05-18 and said, "We have a wonderful trip there, the service is very nice, and ppl there are very friendly. The hotel is small but you will feel like stay at a quite, relax place even you don t go out for snorkelling.."
Lesley stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-05-15 and said, "Excellent place to stay. The room was spacious and clean. The hotel staff were very friendly and service was impecable. Would definitely recommend it."
Harry stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-05-04 and said, "Very nice little hotel very peaceful at night and an easy walk to Ao Nang for supper and shopping not even a problem with a 9 year old in tow. Stunning rooms we even had our own little garden at the back of the room. Nice pool small but adequate. Staff very friendly and most helpful. Did not have much choice at breakfast but was more than enought. Only ate supper once, prices were good but food took a bit long to arrive, not a problem for us as we were in no hurry to go anywhere. Will stay there again on next trip."
Andy stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-04-30 and said, "It is a small cosy hotel with very basic facilities. Stayed in the Deluxe room. Nice and big with a large balcony, but without bath tub. Swimming pool is very nice and clean. The location of the hotel is not the greatest as it is quite a walk, about 20 min. from the center of Ao Nang beach. Breakfast is of continental type, i.e. toast, ham, bacon, egg, salad, omllette. Service is great and staffs are friendly. As for Ao Nang beach, it is quite disappointing as it is not the crystal clear water with white sand type. Excursion is needed to go to other islands with nicer beach. I would not return to this hotel simply because there are other hotels closer. Also, I would not return to Ao Nang, Krabi because there are much nicer beach in Thailand. Here is the overall rating of the hotel and Ao Nang:Room: 3/5Service: 4/5Food(Breakfast): 2.5/5Facilities: 2.5/5Location: 2/5Ao Nang beach: 2/5"
Ernst stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-04-22 and said, "Great hotel. Small butique style hotel. No so close to the beach but only a 10 min walk. Friendly staff."
Peter stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-04-16 and said, "Nice, new resort. Very gentil local people. Sadly no beach near for sun - bathing!"
chris stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-04-14 and said, "NICE HOTEL,GREAT LOCATION,ATTENTIVE STAFF,BREAKFAST AVERAGE,SWIMMING POOL IS NICE TOO BUT NOT GREAT FOR SUNBATHING HEAVY BEDS COVERED BY SHADES FACING THE WRONG WAY ROUND BUILT BY A SWAMP LOTS OF BITING INSECTS.BEAUTIFUL CLEAN ROOMS WITH BALCONY,HIGHLY RECOMMENDED"
Alan stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-04-07 and said, "We had a wonderful stay at Duang Jai, the staff were always very warm and welcoming and nothing was ever too much trouble including booking trips and massages of which we had two at the hotel and they were great. The swimming pool was fantastic and the location of the hotel being situated slightly away from the main resort road meant it was lovely and peaceful. The hotel is ideally situated for both the Ao Nang and Nopparat Thara beaches, no more than 10 minute walks to each and really no effort to get to !! We ate in the hotel a couple of times also and the food was excellent, the spring rolls are especially recommended. If we ever come back to Ao Nang we wouldn t hesitate to stay here again."
Robert stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-04-06 and said, "Very very nice.....small hotel with great ambience. Very peaceful and private. The location is great...hiding in small road but not very far from happening area...it s only by walking distance to Ao Nang so if you want lots of activities e.g. snorgelling kayaking...you can choose from alternative tour operators around the area.To reach to the hotel by shuttle service arranged prior to arrival is convenient. The hotel staff are super! Thank you.And Robert likes the food there at the hotel hahahahahaBreakfast not bad.....suits for small resort.Cheers!"
Diane stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-04-03 and said, "We stayed 6 nights in this hotel. The hotel is a 15 minute walk to restaurants etc, but its easy to catch a Tuk Tuk (20THB) from the hotel to the main entertainment area. Rooms are simply furnished but modern. There is separate area with a sink and tea and coffee making equipment. The pool area is pleasant with plenty of deckchairs. Staff were friendly but their english was poor. Breakfast was usually cold as staff failed to light the burners under the dishes. Overall we enjoyed our stay at this hotel."
Christian stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-04-02 and said, "Very nice Hotel, friendly staff, delicious food, good service."
p.s.vinod stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-03-26 and said, "highly recomended peaceful place.. great value for money.. the staff is extemely and genuinely concerned and couteous.. had asked for a bike one day and they got it done in 10mins..the breakfast could ve more options and gets into a routine layout every morning.. the other thing is the slight distance from the beach and the eating joints etc..but kind of compensates with the clean rooms ,friendly staff and a clean pool"
stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-03-25 and said, "This is a very nice boutique hotel. The rooms are large, the pool is pleasant, and the staff is friendly. It is farther from the beach and town than most other hotels but you get a much nicer room for the price. It is still only a ten minute walk or 20 baht ride tuk-tuk ride. Negative: the restaurant is only average and the service in it is poor. Still, the free breakfast is fine and you will want to take most other meals near the beach anyway so it does not really matter."
Leanne stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-03-09 and said, "Found the hotel to be wonderful, the rooms thoughtfully outfitted, spacious and very clean. We had a little trouble with noise on the first couple of nights (stayed 5) but that was from inconsiderate guests and our room was overlooking the breakfast/check in area. Found that the rooms being tiled and high ceilings they echo quite a bit. Anyway once the noisy guests moved on it was lovely. Would request a room furtherest away from the front of the hotel check in/breakfast area and that would solve most noise problems.Breakfast was good for the size of the hotel and the staff friendly and helpful. Loved it was off the main drag, it was a nice stroll back after dinner to help digest all that wonderful food. Would stay again if I returned to Ao Nang."
Linda stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-03-09 and said, "We enjoyed our stay at Duang Jai. It is a cosy little boutique hotel, away from the noise on Ao Nang. When we first got there we were a bit disappointed because it was such a small hotel, not even a front garden or something to greet us. Then we got a ground floor room, with a little garden at the back and a patio in front. The room was reasonably clean, the bed was new, so it was quite clean too. Fridge in the room was larger than the usual hotel mini fridge, there were also plates and bowls in the room, useful for families like us. I thought the breakfast was better than expected, the spread was good for a hotel so small. The staffs were ok and polite. The swimming pool was a bit small, but it was never crowded at all, even though it was high season. Clever use of plants to provide privacy around the whole hotel, the pool is blocked from the restaurant, and the rooms, so even with only a small area, I did not feel enclosed at all. The best thing was I could even hear birds chirping away while i swam and I could smell the flowers nearby! Wonderful! So in the end we liked it so much we wanted to extend our stay, too bad the hotel was fully booked so we could not stay longer."
Petra stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-03-06 and said, "This is the perfect spot to stay in Ao Nang! Quiet, good service, great rooms and yet close to all the shopping, restaurants and beaches. I will strongly recommend this little resort just because it s simply perfect. Hope they never build it bigger and keept it as it is for the future. Not beeing a big resort makes you feel and experience true thai hospitality as its best."
John stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-03-05 and said, "The hotel was everything we expected and a lot more.Because it was small it had a very intimate and friendly feel. The staff were excellent in all areas and the quiet location made for a perfect vacation although you were only a ten minute walk to the action if necessary. The rooms were spotless, food was excellent and good value. My wife and I would stay there again."
John stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-03-05 and said, "very nice small hotel with very clean rooms and friendly staff always available to help you out with any problems. food is excellent and good value for money. would stay there again."

Francis stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-03-04 and said, "This hotel is excellence for such small hotel,we really enjoy our stay here.Price reasonable too on high season.Location was away from busy crowded area in aonang beach as this is what we prefer.Just 15 min walk to busy aonang shops/restaurants.If lazy to walk, tuk tuk taxi is cheap there, only 40 baht within 3km.Hotel also provide free shuttle service.Check the with the front desk if i remember is 3 times per day.We were greeted promptly upon arrival with comp drinks. We stay at dbl standard room. The room is very spacious and clean with separate kitchen and front/back courtyard, however the aircon was not cool at all even at night, stagnant at 25 c to 26 c.Told front desk about the matter unfortunately they unable to change another room as the hotel consist only 20 rooms and fully booked that day.But to our surpised the next day they change and upgrade our room to upper floor with full poolview without extra charge and the staff keep on apologize over the problem. We are very delightful with the service they provide.B fast is good but dont expect much varities as only 20 rooms.Pool come with jacuzzi and is empty most of the times even in high season. We prefer lower floor room as it has back courtyard compare to upper floor.Overall we rate this hotel as 5 star even is rated as 3 star, worth every baht.Recommendable for those prefer away from crowds. We will definitely stay again if we go back to krabi."
Jim stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-02-27 and said, "Excellent. On a very quiet sidestreet about 5 minutes walk back from the main street that goes along the beach. Quiet, away from the crowds, safe, easy access. Staff was super, very helpful and the room very nice. Clean and modern. Only slight negative was the pool, which had very little shade, so it was hot and the water was quite warm from the sun. Buffet breakfast was fine...only negative was the coffee...Nescafe!If we go back to Krabi, we would definitely stay there again. Very good value for the money."
Richard stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-02-23 and said, "We were very happy with every aspect of this resort. It is tucked away from the main Ao Nang area - and the surrunding area is just land waiting to be built on at present. Don t let this put you off as inside it is delightful and the staff are very pleasant and helpful. Rooms are spacious, well furnished and very clean. Downstairs units have both a back and front courtyard. The gardens are beautifully maintained and from inside the resort the views are just of the surrounding hills and greenery. We were there at a very busy time but usually found the pool area very quiet. Breakfast was very good and we had dinner there twice in a five day stay - excellent food and generous serves. Make sure you try their Pad Thai. Would definitely return to this resort."
Lizzie stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-02-11 and said, "The hotel was lovely and clean. We had a fantastic time and can t wait to go back. Would recommend to anyone."
Grant stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-02-09 and said, "Excellent service and lovely staff. Very nice and quiet place to stay with good amenities. Looking forwad to the next visit."
David stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2007-01-19 and said, "A lovely boutique hotel and great value for money. With just 20 rooms and really friendly and helpful staff. Our stay was a pleasure. This 1 year old hotel is spotlessly clean. The gardens are well maintained and full of orchids. With stylish pool and jacuzzi and generous breakfasts.I recommend the superior rooms on the first floor for their beautiful views. Just a short 12 minute walk to the beach, shops and restaurants of Ao Nang, the Duang Jai is well situated in a quiet street away from the tourist bustle. Ao Nang beach is not attractive enough to warrant staying in a beach hotel anyway. Better to stay here and catch a long tail boat to Railey Beach just 5 mins away."
BERGSMA stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2006-12-26 and said, "This is a nice small hotel with good service. The rooms are quite big and ground floor rooms have patios and small back gardens. The pool is smallish but never crowded even during high season. It s not on the beach, it s a bit of a walk or you can take a tuk tuk or rent your own motorbike. We enjoyed the food and the breakfast buffet. If you prefer small boutique hotels over large resorts you will like the Duang Jai."
Dewi stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2006-12-25 and said, "Very nice hotel rooms, recently opening so everything was new, clean and well decorated. Enjoyed the stay very much, and the staff was very friendly and accomodating. Asked why there were no Thai breakfast in the morning and the next day they prepared a very delicious fried rice dish for the buffet."
J stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2006-12-24 and said, "Nice resort tucked away on the quieter side of Ao-Nang. Perfect for those who wants to be near to the heart of the town, yet not overly so. With only 20 nicely furnished and spacious rooms, you hardly have to jostled with the rest of the visitors over anything, be it b/f or amenities. :)"
Jasper stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2006-12-17 and said, "We enjoyed our stay at Duang Jai Resort very much. It s such a lovely boutique hotel with nice room & nice garden & pool. It s located at a quieter side of Aonang beach. Though the hotel is about 15min walk to the beach. Highly recommended to those who prefer to be away from the crowd."
Ove stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2006-12-06 and said, "Very comfortable, clean and well equiped hotel. My home away from home . Good service from well trained and proffessional staff members. Can recommend this hotel to all people that wants to experience real thai culture and genuin thai atmosphere."
James stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2006-09-25 and said, "Duang Jai is 10 minutes walk from the Aonang Beach in a quiet and unassuming area. The hotel was very pleasant, stylish and well kept. Each of the rooms were cosy, spacious and clean. The grounds were very green, and the pool/spa especially refreshing. The food was delicious, fresh and the portions generous. The service was great, accompanied by many smiles and useful information. The in-house massage on offer was among the best that we had during our stay. I would strongly recommend Duang Jai to anyone visiting Krabi."
Grant stayed at Duang Jai Resort on 2006-09-16 and said, "A lovely resort, the pool & garden were beautiful. The room was light & airy, very comfortable. The staff were friendly & very helpful. I am looking forward to my next visit although Krabi was very quiet in the low season, I ll have to try a different time of year!"
