Sari stayed at Bay View Resort on 2008-05-12 and said, "SALTY WATER FROM THE SHOWER!!!The view is excellent and rooms are ok but not anything special. Every bungalow seems to be same from the outside? Not sure howcome the prices are different? We had the middle price bungalow which was good because we had our own balcony. There was many twin bungalows with twin balconies which would not be nice! The pool area is far away and had salty water and it was dark green! Yak :/ Beach is great with sunbeds although many rocks on the way to the water..be carefull! The area is very steep mountain ...hope you are in good shape! We were going to stay there longer time but we had to move to the PhiPhi Villa resort (next resort) for the same price because SHOWER IS SALT WATER!!!!! You never feel clean :/ Low season prices are too much for this place and you can imagine how high those are on high season!!! TOO MUCH! Restaurant was great and Leam hin beach is the beach in PhiPhi..Close to Tonsai and town but far enough! :) SO go to PhiPhi Villa resort instead which have GREAT poolarea on the beach! :D"
Michelle stayed at Bay View Resort on 2008-05-04 and said, "We had a fabulous time at the Bay view. We had a deluxe room which had a great view of the beach and was quite private. The room and bathroom were both extremely clean and very spacious. The beach in front of the resort was great. No problems with staff or security of the room. We would definitely stay here again."
Claire stayed at Bay View Resort on 2008-04-29 and said, "This hotel is in a really pretty location, however, although not too far away from the town centre it can be a bit of a hike if you are doing it a couple of times a day. The rooms are very spacious and airy, however they are a little shabby. We stayed in a Grand Deluxe room and I really couldnt see a great deal of difference from the Superior. Fantastic Views, staff really helpful too."
Jari stayed at Bay View Resort on 2008-04-21 and said, "Great place and nice rooms Whith amasing view, good breakfast and food, great service from the staff. The negative was that toilet stopped working three morning of the five days we stayed thereand water from shower to salt."
Gabriele stayed at Bay View Resort on 2008-04-17 and said, "Stayed in a deluxe grand villa with stunning views. A hillside resort with an easy walk to Ton Sai. The last night dined at Bay View s outdoor Seafood BBQ right on the beach, very romantic and the food delicious. Found this resort to be at a great location with friendly attentive staff. Breakfast buffet was simple but tasty."
Bruno stayed at Bay View Resort on 2008-03-30 and said, "Hotel is fine and clean. Great view on the bay. Beaches on this side of the island are nice.2 problems: - salty water in the shower (like everywhere else I think) - People on Phi Phi island are not very welcoming."
jenny stayed at Bay View Resort on 2008-03-27 and said, "we had a great stay at bay view in the beautiful Koh Phi Phi - Our second time at the resort. A perfect location for us - not to far from the bars, resturants and shops but also not too close to the hustle and bustle!! reception staff and security very helpful. we were in rooms right at the top end of the hill which can be a steep climb in the blazing hot sun though!"
Soren stayed at Bay View Resort on 2008-03-23 and said, "The location of the hotel is nice - quiet but still close to the shopping area. We had booked 2 Grand De Luxe category cottages. The cottages could use a restoration inside - but the balconies was perfect. The view from here was FANTASTIC. The house keeper was excelent and gave a good service."
Per stayed at Bay View Resort on 2008-03-04 and said, "Ett riktigt kanonhotell, ligger jättebra en bit ifrån själva kärnan. Mycket mysigt. Enda nackdelen var att man fick gå en bit upp i backen för att komma till bungalowen, men med den utsikten så var det klart värt detta."
pernille stayed at Bay View Resort on 2008-02-24 and said, "4000 bath a night? grand deluxe villa? villa??.???. junk the lux Shack is a better name?? i to wish, I had read all other comments before... The room/ whas not even clean when we arrived at 2. and we had 2 walk down to the front desk again(long walk) Even when we got the Villa (LOL)it was smelling and dirty. (another 10 min walk up hill to get there.) Everything at this place is old, used and sucks, the a/c was 25 years old an noisy?? and you had 2 turn it on to get hot water. ??Grand delux ??? and then share the balcony. come on. u could hear the neighbours breathe ..Privacy no.... hostel?? maybey but still 4000 bath. After the stay at - bay view or Brown watter Resort as we like to call it - my wife got sick for 3 days .... dont go there.. Only good thing is the view, but that u can get all over PHI PHI. Love the Island.... so nice .... go diveSorry the breakfast was good, and i think i got a smile from 1 of the guys doing the lawn, but the only 1 i got from the staff at this hotel.. cant say it enough DONT GO THERE."
Paul stayed at Bay View Resort on 2008-02-23 and said, "We really enjoyed our time in the Bay View. Once we got over the steep walk up to our lodge everything went great. The staff were so friendly to us. The evening menu was nice but breakfast was only ok (like most of the resorts in Thailand) It s about 10 mins walk to the centre. The setting of having dinner on the beach front looking out to Maya Bay was paradise. Definately recommend."
lapouza stayed at Bay View Resort on 2008-02-23 and said, "Hotel très bien situé, vue magnifique, bons équipementsA recommander"
Lars stayed at Bay View Resort on 2008-02-22 and said, "Very nice bungalow with great view. The staff very friendly and the food excellent."
Patrik stayed at Bay View Resort on 2008-02-18 and said, "If you want a wonderful bay view this is it...and thats all you get. When we arrived the room was dirty and not clean at all, we had to ask them 3 times to clean the room. And we also have to inform you that you will have to bring your own towels, we didnt get any for our 3 day long stay! The water in the zink and shower is brown and saltwater! So discusting.. Acctually, the WORST hotell we ever stayed at!!J & P from Sweden"
Kevin stayed at Bay View Resort on 2008-02-10 and said, "Very pleasantly surprised with the hotel, having read mixed reviews about it. The hotel is situated in a great location - short walk to the main town and far enough away for peace and quite at the end of the day. Breakfast was adequate and we ate in the hotel restaraunt twice - very good. We had a Delux Villa which was thankfully detached, some of the rooms were semi-detached so were pleased we had a balcony all to ourselves! The view was lovely and room was clean and spacious. You need to be fit and abled-bodied for this property as it is situated on hillside and pathways to the rooms are steep and winding! We were prepared for the tap water to be sub-standard and it was - but this is an island and all the water has to go through some sort of de-salintaion facility. But it was fine for washing but we used bottle water everytime for brushing teeth. Never had a poorly tummy once. We had a lovely time at bay veiw on koh phi phi and would recommend it to couples and families."
Samantha stayed at Bay View Resort on 2008-01-12 and said, "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The restaurant is great and the staff are very helpful. We found this to be a perfect location on Phi Phi as it is very quiet, however still close enough to the action. Our private bungalow was beautiful - albeit a little outdated, however it was clean and comfortable."
Hansjoerg stayed at Bay View Resort on 2008-01-02 and said, "Don t book the Bay View Resort, I wished, I had read all other comments before...We paid a lot for a single deluxe bungalow, and we got a half of a double bungalow with view to a large tree but not to the bay. It was really terribe, we had no privacy at all. In the room you could hear the neighbor breathe, a very small fence on the balcony gave you privacy. In the same bungalow, just under the balcony there was the hotel s towel stock; from early in the morning till late evening you could participate at the staff s life.We demanded to change to any other room: it was several times agreed and later neglected; after long negotiations we got a single bungalow in the last row, with no bay view either. When we demanded a refund for the deluxe bungalow we paid and for the superior bungalow we obtained, the hotel management refused even to discuss about it.Breakfast was good, and the shuttle services are OK.Btw. this was bungalow B213/214 - in an earlier report there was already a warning of these rooms. I posted some photos on the tripadvisor site.Avoid strictly to accept half a double bungalow, as long as you travel as couple."
Anja stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-12-03 and said, "Nice location, at the end of the bay but still quite close to the center of Phi Phi (about 10-15 min walk). The middle-rate bungalows are uphill with a good view on the bay. Main beach is ok, although the small hotel beaches further away are nicer and less crowded. Breasfast is ok from the food but not enough employees to handle it - tables are not cleaned up quick enough and refill is slow. Altogether though a nice place for a short stay on the island."
Andrew stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-12-02 and said, "Bay View Resort has a great location on Phi Phi island and all the islands attractions are within easy walking distance. Lovely restaurant right on the beach and many more in the town only 5 minutes walk away. Lovely safe swimming beach, excellent for kids too."
Nicole stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-11-25 and said, "to expensive for what you get. rooms are not nice. everthing looks old."
Rolf stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-11-15 and said, "Fantastic view, clean rooms. We were in Thailand for 17 days and Bay view on Phi-Phi was one of the best hotels we stayed at!"
Robert stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-10-21 and said, "perfect position, with good views. staff attentive and helpful. usual complaint the bar is very exp."
Steve stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-10-01 and said, "Excellent hotel... We had booked for 3 days and stayed an extra 3 as we liked the hotel so much... well the view from our room.We stayed in b310 which had a veiw to die for. The room was allways clean and tidy with good air con. The reception staff where very good and helpfull as well. If you are booking make sure you book online as its more expensive to book at the hotel direct.... strange i know but its cheaper to book though sawadee. The breakfast wasnt that great but the veiw from our room made up for that.."
RG stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-08-14 and said, "Pick up from pier was easy. Got longtail boat, but depending on tide could walk along the beach to the resort.Had requested nice quiet room with view as it was a special occasion. Got room B205 and had great view over the bay to Phi Phi Ley. Resturant food first night was horrible, although we put it down to dining to early (6pm) my fish was overcooked and the vegies cold and undercooked. Had lunch twice along with breakfast all 4 days and it was good.Frequent power blackouts and torches not provided. Bring a torch.Massage was great. Movies/Dvd movies play on in room tv."
Liat stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-08-11 and said, "the location and view are amazing! the room is NOT clean, NOT secured. the water at the shower are yellow and salty. the resturant is the best pne on the island!"
Nikolaus stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-07-09 and said, "The Bay view resort was quit ok-mostly i like the room and the view from the balcony over the sea.The bathroom water was a bit salty, but not realy a problem. The pool we didnt like-it was shabby to much chlorine. But the location of the hotel was good, not in the big trouble.Breakfast was ok,always rembering that this hotel is just about 40 or 50 dollar per night. The stuff were a little bit strange-some a friendly others not.All in all i could recommend this hotel, because I liked the room and the balcony, all the other time you stayed at the beach or in the restaurant or bars nearby."
Kylie stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-05-16 and said, "No complaints. Great service, excellent views, handy to everything. Great buffet breakfast & dinner menu. Only stayed 1 night during our short stay in Phi Phi. Would book again when we return to Thailand."
Ylva stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-05-09 and said, "It was a great hotel with godd service. It was something wrong with the ater though. It smelled really bad and I got stomachsick."
Chris stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-05-06 and said, "The hotel locates on the southern side of PP island, which is good and very close to the beach. Room is clean and view is good. However, when you take shower, the water is salty...if you can bear this, then go and enjoy the beach and sun:)"
Crystal stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-05-01 and said, "Overall the hotel is quite nice. However, this hotel is not suitable for those elder people because you have to clim a lot in order to reach your room. The tap water is ver salty which means that their filter system is very poor. The advantage is the hotel is located in a very quiet with a natural surroundings. At night, you cal always listen to the cricket bands around you.The rooms is cosy and comfortable. It is quite far from the Phi Phi town too. Around 15 minutes walks."
Vibeke stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-04-29 and said, "Bay view is a nice resort and if you want to stay here it should be in a ocean view bungalow .....the view from here is fantastic !! We had 3 wonderfull days here and was very pleased with this resort."
Dave stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-04-25 and said, "This hotel is in a wonderful setting. It is at the far end of the beach and is away from any intrusive noise. The bungalows are built on a hill-side. These are adequate, as are the facilities. Be aware that it is reached by long-tail boat normally, and all the bungalows are a hard, hot, and sticky climb from the beach. Anyone with walking difficulties should contact the hotel first. Also the walk between the hotel and the resort is not easy at night (watch the mooring ropes). Especially after too many Chang. Otherwise this location is superb. Enjoy"
Henrik stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-04-23 and said, "Beutifull view, exellent room and balkon, everything perfekt about that.About staff, I had a lot misunderstanding because staff did not understand very good english language.I had some questions about my safebox, i try to explain that I not complain staff or had them under susbision, but I thought I did the problem.Next day I had some question about the pool, which was closed, I asked about it was because some cemical problem, the answer from the man in receotion was: what is your problem today.Very bad attitude.I did not want to make a scene, so I did not go further, I just leave reception.Anyway, I enjoy my stay, very beutifull place, amazing, if I go back phiphi, for sure I will stay bay view resort again. About staff and attitude, well, they do what they can, the ladyis in reception do a really good job, also better english, so one mann will not make me think bad about resort."
Mrs stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-04-17 and said, "Satisfactory accommodation : the superior rooms are the furthest away (only a short distance but uphill!). Good location: close to shops and restaurants but at the end of the bay, so away from the noise and crowds. Quiet air-con.Nice sea view.Brackish water in bathroom ( as in all other island hotels no doubt).Decent breakfast buffet by island standards.Pool area is quite nice and was quiet during our week. However, the main disappointment is that there is no real beach for swimming at the hotel: hardly any beach at high tide and too many boats anyway; at low tide the water goes out much too far. The next door beach (Long Beach) is a 10-15 minute walk away, but water is too polluted for swimming. The best is to take a 1000bht, 3-hour long-boat ride round some of the beautiful beaches and and spectacular scenery on the island (Monkey Beach for ex)"
Ruedee stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-04-08 and said, "absolutely awful place, first off do not bother paying the extra for a grand deliuxe villa no such thing my mum paid 1500 baht per night less and got the same room!!Hotel manageress was a horrid woman no time for her guests and very rude, even to the point where she started to blame my wife for her own mistakes. The rooms were about a 10 minute hill walk from reception, not a pleasant experience in 40 degrees and my poor old mum who is 70 struggled to make it.The swimming pool was no good for swimming too small too shallow and not at all refreshing as the water was too warm! The water in the room both from the shower the toilet and the sink smelled so bad my wife threw up,i understand they recycle sea water which smells like a sewerage plant and has turned my white t shirts my wife washed in it a brown colour.I would consider myself a sound sleeper but the polycarbonate roof in the bathroom made sleep impossible when it rained. The satellite tv was not satellite and only showed thai tv so dont expect premiership football. The breakfast is also truly awful the fruit was not ripe and the cooked stuff tasted like it had been cooked 3 days ago and reheated. Finally i booked this hotels services to pick me up in phuket and take me to their hotel door to door they charged me 4200 baht for 4 people my return journey i booked myself it cost me 2000 baht door to door enough said. The only good thing to say about this hotel the view was very nice and the staff with the exception of the manageress were quite attentive.STAY HERE AND YOU WILL REGRET IT,THE RECEPTION AREA ALWAYS HAD SOMEONE THERE COMPLAINING ABOUT SOMETHING!"
Mr stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-03-28 and said, "Absolutely fabulous stay at this resort in room b205 with a fantasic view over the bay, the accommodation was very clean. Not a place to stay for those who tire easily walking up hills to all the bungalows, the resort has thought it through though as there is a resident tuk tuk on site and can drive you to your door.Definately recommend a visit to phi phi ley which you can see from the resort."
Kalvin stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-03-27 and said, "Whole experience was fantastic. Great service, Beautiful bungalow with terrific views. Great restaurant with great variety of food. So close to the hub yet far enough to get a good nights sleep. Highly recommend. Will be back."
Patricia stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-03-22 and said, "Great resort right at the end of the beach about a 15 min walk to the centre and 5 min walk to some really nice restaurants. Staff is friendly, rooms are clean, great breakfast, we didn’t have lunch or dinner here so we can’t say anything about that The only thing we didn’t like was the brown coloured and salty tasting water in the shower."
Robert stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-03-20 and said, "Very quiet hotel with individual bungalows set on fairly steep hill. 10 minute walk from pier.Rooms nice but not luxurious. Who comes here to stay in the room? Some climbing required."
Stan stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-03-17 and said, "Very very Bad service, we were not met at the airport (as promised)Cleaning staff Stole 9000 bhat (which were left in the bag on the table)SEA WATER IN THE SHOWER! SALTY WATER in the TAP.By the way the whole place is actually a waste of time since you can not snorkel from the beach - you have to take a boat anyway. for SCUBA - visibility off Phi Phi was poor - 2m!The whole place (Phi Phi) is dirty, with smell of human/food waste!Good views of the cliffs from the distance but on close observation - smells really bad. Definitely will not recommend to anyone to go there."
Francis stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-03-06 and said, "Good impression on arrival at ton sai pier as staff awaiting with signboard to transport guests via longtail boat.5 min transfer.Location was perfect away from crowded tourist area, just a short 10 min walk to central happenings area.We stay at Grand Deluxe Bungalow (B112) located on the first row of the hill,a little climb uphill.Room was reasonable clean and spacious but beware of ants.Bed and furnitures is rather old,the hotel should review the priced. We got a complimentary assorted fruits platter after 5 min checking in to the room, courtesy from staffs for honeymoongers which we were very pleased. The view was spectacular gorgeous on the balcony unliked those bungalow located on 2nd uphill onwards which the beautiful view was obstructed by the first row bungalows roof and trees. If stay at Grand deluxe request on first row (less climbing/full panaromic seaview).Bathroom water is terrible, salty(mixed with sea water)and yellowish mud water as this is small island without main water pipeline source.Dont expect much on service as staff have difficulty to understand english, best is to approached the manager(mid-size lady),she is rather helpful and even manage to help negotiate longtail taxi boat for us to Long Beach for fish feeding/snorkelling at 100 baht for 2person/per way which fixed flat rate at 160 baht for 2person/per way even to the main pier.We had only 1 problem which we could nt find a hair dryer in the whole room. After ringing the reception they insist the hair dryer was in the drawer which is not, follow by 2nd ring they says in the bathroom which is not there too after much frustration they call back saying the hair dryer was spoilt and send for repairing could nt get it back on time and they says they cant do anything about it.I got totally shocked with their inconsistent replied and action. Then i suggested them to get spare from hsekeeping or non-vacant room and they replied was hotel fully booked/hsekeeping no spare hair dryer, leaving me no option but to speak to thier manager. After 10min wait they send a technician to install brand new hair dryer.Buffet B fast is good with reasonable varieties.Hotel check out policy 11:00am if prefer check out late approached the manager(mid-size lady).Overall the hotel is average but somehow price should be revised given the condition of the bungalows, however i would nt recommend to those who have high expectation and elderly people.I would go back again if price has being revised. On last note i have to disagree with Wan Yaqin comments which says this resort is racialism to Asian given the experience i had for 3 nights stay here as i myself is Asian too."
Wu stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-02-25 and said, "Great view! well designed room and perfect functional A/C"
Guy stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-02-11 and said, "We spent a really wonderful week in Bay View Resort. All the bungalows are set out along little paths rising up above the sea. Views from all the rooms are just beautiful and we spent many hours on the balcony reading, relaxing and looking out over the bay and all the long-tail boats coming and going! Very peaceful. Rooms very clean and lovely inside - polished wood, great air con! Staff very friendly and helpful. It is only a short walk into the main town - we found that it was lovely to be able to return to the quiteness of the resort every evening! We would definately return."
Torbjorn stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-02-02 and said, "Very nice place to stay, lovely bay view from the bungalow. Perfect longtail boat service from the pier to the hotel both ways. No noice at all in the nights because it was a nice 10 minutes walk from the center of Phi Phi village, and a 15 min. nice walk to the lovely Long Beach with perfect snorkeling at the far end of the beach."
Fatima stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-01-30 and said, "The hotel has a nice section of beach directly in front of it.There is a bit of a climb to get to the rooms and is not recommended for older people. Not quite what was expected from a deluxe room."
Stu stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-01-27 and said, "The resort is a short walk across the sand about 1km from the pier. The fairly modern bungalows are accessed up slopes and some steps, with great views from the balconies. The only problem was the smell given off whenever the shower was run. We recommend this resort if you are looking for peaceful accommodation with in easy reach of the Phi Phi nightlife!"
William stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-01-26 and said, "Nice views and nicely decorated roomsFor thoses who don t mind a walk up a steep hill in the heat to access your room will be happyStaff is rather inefficient and manager is agressive (witnessed a customer being screamed at by the manager)Also check out is at 11 which will leave you on the street for a couple of hours if you plan to head back to Krabi on the ferry boat, so you need to plan for a late check out which will cost you 400bath!!!The view of the bay is nice but the beach is not the best as it is invaded by boatsFor a more peaceful stay you may prefer to stay on the other side of the island"
Cheryl stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-01-25 and said, "Aside from the spectacular view from our bungalow,we were very disappointed with the room. Was certainly not deluxe as expected.Furniture was old and shabby, the water in the toilet and shower came out brown!really off putting, and worst of all was the constant smell of drainage or sewage near our bungalow, which prevented us from enjoying time on our balcony.Definitely not worth the cost, which is a shame, because the position and scenery were breathtaking. Also every time our daughter phoned from overseas,we were cut off.One time she rang us and at reception, was told we weren t in our room, and in fact no-one bothered to ring our room, even though we were there. When I confronted the reception, they made the excuse that the girl doesn t understand english!!Improvements are definitely a necessity to justify the cost of this hotel"
roland stayed at Bay View Resort on 2007-01-23 and said, "Our room was bad. Old, dirty bathroom, no waterpressure, dirty sink. Bed linen dirty, looked like it was not changed.Breakfast buffed o.k., staff decent."
