Araya Buri Resort Hotels

Sue stayed at Araya Buri Resort on 2008-07-04 and said, "Wonderful resort, all facilities, lovely pool, and own beach. Excellent long-boat (taxi boat) services, and resort was there to pick up from pier without having to arrange this beforehand. Only a 10 min walk to the main town area, and this was very good because at night some of the other resorts there would be very noisy. Will definitely stay there again"

The service was excellent and the rooms were very clean and well located with a fantastic view over the water. Even though it was wet season it worked out very well - in fact better because there were not so many tourists and we got to see some great storms from our balcony. 5 star rating from us. Raimond stayed at Araya Buri Resort on 2008-05-14 and said, "We stayed in the Araya Buri Resort for 3 nights. Room was good and we had great views from the balcony, but to get to the room was quite a journey because of the distance to the reception and the steep hills. Food and drinks in the restaurant were very good. Beach was nice but with a lot of rocks. Unfortunately the beach was the only way to get there. Staff was very friendly and helpfull."

Cathryn stayed at Araya Buri Resort on 2008-05-09 and said, "This hotel is run by those at Bay View, and poorly too. While we found the hotel ok and we were able to check in early, our room (and linen) was was dirty and smelly. Further, the bathroom was ferral with some slapped on perspex over the shower as a room - with plenty of room of the very hungry mozzies to come in each night. Breakfast was of a very poor standard with cats and dogs roaming around the tables each morning. Would never go again."

Barry stayed at Araya Buri Resort on 2008-03-17 and said, "Hotel is located in a quiet part of Phi Phi and was very enjoyable. The restaurant served delicious meals, the staff friendly and all in all very nice.The room/bungalow was perfect for our needs. It was clean and comfortable and had a great view and very quick access to the beach. My only concern (and this is typical not only this resort) is that litter is not picked up quickly or at all. I suppose this is also a function of the guests that stay there and think disposing of garbage on the grounds is acceptable."

Leif stayed at Araya Buri Resort on 2008-02-08 and said, "The hotel (bungalow) is very good situated. We had a de luxe grand sea view with a beautiful wiew to the water and the mountains on the westside of Phi Phi Don.The room was not clean. The outlet from the shower was out af function, the door on the right side to the balkon could nt be opened etc. There were no furniture in the room.The staff was very tired and didn t want to do too much. The bungalow needs to be repared all over.The price (THBT 4.950 per night)is too high for the quality. I would not go there again."

The resort is very pleasant - it s not luxurious, but very comfortable and the most superb views from the Arayaburi bungalows. The breakfast in the restaurant was great. Only stay at this hotel if you don t mind a walk - it is a big hill, but it s perfectly pleasant and a nice walk!"

Eric stayed at Araya Buri Resort on 2007-08-05 and said, "accueil en long tail sur le port et bungalows tout confort - calme et un peu à l écart du village nécessitant 5 à 10 minutes de marche pour atteindre ce dernier ce qui permet d être au calme si on le désire tout en pouvant se rendre dans la partie animée de l île le soir sans avoir à prendre le bateau - les prestations sont en rapport avec le prix - personnel très agréable - petit dej correct - je n ai pas testé le resto - n hésitez pas à réserver votre long tail sur le port (et non pas sur la plage de l hotel), les prix y sont parfois plus intéressants et vous y rencontrerez parfois des personnages étonnants qui vous ferons découvrir l île d une façon un peu moins touristique et donc donc beaucoup plus sauvage et agréable."

Nicholas stayed at Araya Buri Resort on 2007-08-01 and said, "Visited post Tsunami and could not believe that anyone could complain about this resort. The beach is above average and there are amazing beaches within walking distance. The price is right, the scenery is beautiful, and the service was excellent. My wife and I do not like alot of bother and asked very little of the staff. Still what we did ask for was arranged quickly and we have no complaints about our stay. We will be back.Check the ferry schedule before you book a room so you don t lose a day on your reservations."

AG stayed at Araya Buri Resort on 2007-06-28 and said, "The rooms are fine if you like snakes in your room, but walking to your room from reception is about 1 km if you stay in the centre of the resort. You have to walk that distance everytime you want to go to the restaurant or the town. June/July is very hot and unpleasant. Please make sure that you do not use the transport from Phuket airport that is being organised by the Hotel or their transfer Company. It is excessively expensive and it is only one way. The driver also make sure that he takes you to all the shops where he gets commission to bring tourists. Your own needs are not being taken into account. The price is $140.00 for 4 people, as opposed to $65.00 for 4 people when you organise it yourself from the Pier. The Hotel gives a hoot about you getting back! They have the attitude that it is your own problem to find a boat for the return trip."

Eric stayed at Araya Buri Resort on 2007-04-07 and said, "Excellent location in Koh Phi Phi, nice clean rooms, but very steep hill for people that do not like climbing to their bedroom."

Elisabet stayed at Araya Buri Resort on 2007-03-23 and said, "Stayed here for 2 nights. A good location,just a few minutes walk to the center of phi phi. Bungalowes lying on a top. a little walk up a steep hill, but they had a car so they both drove you up with your bags and pick you up when you are leaving. Nice rooms with a big balcony with sunbeds. i didn t like the bathroom. The glass sealing over the shower was leaking and looked not nice. A nice restaurant with a good breakfast."

Dietmar_Muchitsch stayed at Araya Buri Resort on 2007-03-02 and said, "My wife and I stood 5 night in Araya Buri Resort in March 2007. We had a Deluxe room. The room was big and clean. The Staff you had to find, and the taxi shuttle to bring you to your hut was never available. The beach in front of the resort is not the best on PHi Phi, but by 5 minutes walk you will be at Long beach, which is really nice."

Ismail stayed at Araya Buri Resort on 2007-02-10 and said, "This hotel would have been perfect if it weren t for the shocking service we received upon arrival.Despite booking and paying the full amount for 2 rooms over 1 month prior to arrival we were told by the lady in charge at the front desk when we arrived that the hotel is overbooked and that the 4 of us should share 1 room instead. They planned on compensating us for this major inconvenience by offering us a free dinner in the hotel restaurant. After putting up somewhat of a fight at reception we were given our two rooms that we booked but only with great attitude and it felt as if the hotel was doing us a favour.One really does not need to go through something like this whilst on vacation, it is a real mood dampener.This experience was a real pity considering the rooms are excellent with great views and the resort is perfectly located on beautiful phi phi.Overall not worth the risk as your reservation may just be given away for no apparent reason. Rather look elsewhere on Phi Phi."

Kari stayed at Araya Buri Resort on 2007-01-23 and said, "the rooms are okei, but the serice not so good. they were out of towels for several days, and it was a long way to go from the reseption to the bungalow. the beach outside the resort is not good. stoney and little bit dirty. not impressed."

Simon stayed at Araya Buri Resort on 2007-01-16 and said, "About 15-20 mins walk from the centre of town. A few nice beaches 5-10 mins from your room. Room was nice but the water was slightly brownish some days."

Jeff stayed at Araya Buri Resort on 2006-11-12 and said, "My partner Carol and I Really enjoyed our stay, small problem with Double bed availability but was moved next day to refurb room in bay view sister resort. Beware the climb to rooms which is not for the faint hearted. Polite and friendly staff, good BBQ food, breakfast omlettes and fruit good, rest of choice not really to our preference but many nationalities to please. Beach Towels available free from reception. Still lots of work going in with a little noise and bonfires to contend with but would recommend.Stunning views over bay from many bugalows"

Massimo stayed at Araya Buri Resort on 2006-08-13 and said, "The bungalow we had was very big and beautiful, clean and new-built. Unfortunately it was situated in a very high position,reached only by walking, far for reception and restaurant.Anyway, a good place to stay and the service ok."

Yaron stayed at Araya Buri Resort on 2006-04-22 and said, "In 4 words - not good at all. Here are the details:1. During check-in we found out that the pool is out of order! No one even mentioned it before!2. We were on our honeymoon (it was mentioned during the reservation) room service came with fruit plate (in all the other hotels during that vacation we got complimentary fruits) �sound nice right? Well, the guys said 80 baht please we called to the reception to check this issue and they said you did order that . So the fruit were left out side for the bugs�. All the bedclothes were dirty and when we asked to replace them they said tomorrow and after we explained (for more than 30 minutes) we can t sleep like that they came and changed.4. The rooms are very fare from the coast and it s on the hill �you must take the golf car and if you return to the room after 23:00 you might have to walk up the hill to your room.5. We came after breakfast (10:30) to take no towels but they were out�we were told that new towels will arrive at 15:30 (!!!) and of course they didn t…I could have written more but I guess it s enough…We won t get back to this hotel!"
