Chidchanok said, "The over all is good compare with the money i paid. Its clean and comfortable. But the time of checking out is too fast at 11.00 a.m."
Frank said, "Hotel: simple but very clean rooms; steep staircase. 5 min. south of pier. You can walk in 5 min.Would recommend to book Deluxe Room or take a suite across the street for a higher budget.Rel. quiet at night considering it s in Mae Had. The owner and the young female receptionist are so nice. Very personal, very helpful, friendly and the smile while serving the breakfast is the best start for the day. 20 - 25 min. walk to Sairee Beach. snorkel tour around island starts at Mae Had. If you want to stay at Mae Had the Hotel is a good choice. Frank"
emma said, "Very simple standard. Mostly clean. People working there were very uncharming. There are rooms by the beach as pictured at their website but we got one on the other side of the road without any sea view. Not worth the money."
Michael said, "Very friendly staff. Standard rooms are not at the beach, but at the building behind. Too bad for us, we got a room on the first floor with cockroach s every night."
Anette said, "It was a nice litle hotel with good service and very nice owners."
Monika said, "Fantastic value for money. We had a familysuit with a rooftop terrace and the apartment was even better than it looked on the pictures. Clean and perfect, and the highlight of our stay on Koh Tao. The island itself didn´t live up to our expectations, mostly because of the traffic-noise from mopeds, cars and longtailboats that makes you feel like your in Bangkok rather than on a remote paradise-island . Even though Utopia is situatad at the end of the village and right on the beach there is no tranquility. Taxi-drivers rip you off to take you to a beach on the other side of the island and most of the interesting parts of the coastline are covered with private bungalows and resorts and that makes it less fun to go kajaking or walking. Koh Tao could have been paradise if there had been some planning and respect for nature and peoples needs for a peaceful and healthy surrounding, but now it isn´t."
Jørgen said, " overall the service at Utopia is very very good. The rooms at the guesthouse are among the more expensive on Koh Tao, but you get great service and location for that price and I thought the hotel was definately worth the price.I would recommend Utopia to anyone not on a backpacker-budget and stay there again if/when I return to Koh Tao."
Jan said, "Nice and cosy hotel with a friendly atmosphere. Very clean and spacious rooms.Small restaurant serving good thai-/western food - including excellent burgers and smashing steaks."
tanya said, "Very nice and clean. Nice bathroom. It is located at the port where you dock from Koh Phan Ngan. 10minute walk from Sairee beach. If your interested in diving best to stay on Sairee beach."
Timo said, "Good value for money if you are not looking a pool and fancy stuff. The receiption and everything is very helpful. Close to the pier, food, nightlife. Walking distance to Sairee beach. The beach is not nice as close to the pier, but ok if you only want to get some sun tan. Worth trying."
Anton said, "It s Very comfortable location of Utopia Suites near central streets. Amazing sea-view from rooms and louisiana or balcony with everyday cleaned piece of the beach at your disposal. Staff made everything on their best and helped us in some questions very much. We liked everything."
Neil said, "Myself and my Italian girlfriend extremely helpful. Rooms cleaned every day and most with air conditioning, TV and minibar. Comfortably close to the centre, a short walk from the boat pier but far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet. Next door there is an extremely honest, helpful taxi driver who helped us out heaps, try him out, he wont rip you off. If you ve yet to book in Koh Tao try the Utopia Suites you wont be dissapointed!!"
Penny said, "Hotel was fine, it was old but very clean. Downside was the airconditioner was only in the bedroom and we had a 1 bedroom unit. It is just a room though, not a resort. I would recommend you don t stay here unless you are here purely for the diving and will be going out all the time. It is on the port beach where all the boats come in and is really not a very nice beach. But it is great if you are just going diving."
Lili said, "We it was perfect for us (3 persons). Friendly staff and very clean. Good location in Koh Tao near to everything."
John said, "Very good basic facilities. Clean room and bedding. Effective shower. Nice friendly staff. Convenient yet quiet location - walking distance from the ferry but in a quiet part of town. Recommended for short stays 1-2 nights"
Gina said, "Traveling on a modest budget can sometimes lead to less than desirable accommodation. This was fortunately not the case at Utopia’s hotel. Most points of interest are no further than a walk away. The rooms are new and spotless. I can do without the air conditioning or TV but for me a room without creepy crawlies is a must. The food and music in the bar/restaurant was excellent; the staff friendly and helpful. If you are planning to visit Koh Tao without a fortune to spend, you can’t go wrong here."
John said, "Two thumbs up. Very clean & comfortableThis is not a 5 star hotel but if you want, you can have all the amenities of home incl. a stereo system with MP3/DVD player. After seeing our apartment, our friends moved from a noisy Sairee Beach into one of the more spacious deluxe apartments where an extra bed was provided for their kids. The staff could not have been more accommodating. They even arranged a gas BBQ for a cook out on our friend’s veranda overlooking the bay. During the winter season at high tide, the beach is rather small like elsewhere on Mea Haad + Sairee. The restaurant is cozy and serves surprisingly good steaks and excellent Thai food. The burgers are amazing! There was a bit of a wait for the food but if you are a fan of blues, jazz or world music you won’t mind. A refreshing change from the “housebeats elsewhere. This was our 3rd trip to Koh Tao; for us, Utopia offered the best accommodation thus far. Great location & excellent value."
Aleks said, "quite disappointing. Even the room was clean, the service personnel/owner/holders of the hotel unfriendly and stingy. E.g. they tried to charged us for not used mini-bar (you have drinken colas from mini-bar - nonsense!!!), not accepted credit card for room payment & asked to pay cash or 6% more amount, etc. There is actually even no beach in front of the hotel - only scruffy and untidy stripe of sand. Noise of the neighbouring pub at night can be quite disturbing. I would never come to that UTOPIA -place again. There are many really nice and romantic bungallows/hotels around in Koh Tao (at Sairee beach), which are much better place to stay at."
John said, "Great stay, spacious accommodation. We got a very good deal for a long term stay, air con was a must as it was very hot for first few weeks. Only drag was electric bill be prepared!! All in all very good value for money."
Garth said, "Utopia Suites were very conveniently situated within 100 metres of the ferry terminal and the other diving boats. We appreciated the spaciousness of the apartments and the way they were designed to make full use of the cooling breezes."
