Volker said, "Loved it. Beautiful room (Sea View), very friendly and helpfull staff and a stunning view from the balkony as well as from the restaurant. One of the best locations we . Great service. Absolutely recommended. Thank you very much for the pleasent time at your resort."
Sophie said, "The staff are wonderfully friendly and the hotel is beautiful - views amazing and the pool and rooms are fantastic."
Timothy said, "Our stay at this reort was short but excellent. The resort staff are very friendly and the whole resort is very well kept. The bungalows all seem to have great views. Restaurant and pool are great!!! Would highly recommend if you are after great views."
Jiang said, "A really lovely and romantic place to relax. If you enjoy a quiet and sweet holiday, it s the hotel with beautiful sea view for you. But a bit far from the sea. and the waiters and waitress are friendly and professional."
Mr said, "My wife and I spent six nights here on honeymoon and had a thoroughly agreeable stay. We had originally booked the honeymoon garden room, however on arrival, the room was nothing like the one posted on the internet and was dark and in need of refurbishment. We switched to a boutique room (new this year) and the difference was amazing. The staff could not do enough for us,and even the ongoing construction work failed to disturb us. We would definitely stay again - the views from the restaurant and pool were amazing, and the spa was a tranquil experience, if a little overpriced. Thanks Thipwimarn!"
Andrew said, "In a word Stunning. This was everything i wished for and more. The setting was perfect. Built into the palm tree covered cliff side with uninterupted views over the thia gulf this place was as tranquil as it gets yet only a 10-15min walk from the beach and there is a taxi service at the hotel providing very cheap transport there and back if you want it. The rooms were gorgeous. We plenty of towels for the bath room and beach. We also had a fablous balcony overlooking the sea. The resort was quite kept immaculatly clean with so much attention to detail. Lovely bowels of water with freshly picked flower heads floating in each lined the paths and fresh flower heads decorated your bed each morning. The restaurant was also very good providing very well priced and very tasty food - breakfast was included in the proce and for that you could choose two meals - v good. They also had a enternity swimming pool that dropped away leaving stunning views over the ocean where you could watch the sun set. Finally the staff were terrific catered for your every need and were so friendly and cheerful.I would recommend this place to anyone especially at such a reasonable price - you could barley get a b&b in england for the same price."
Klaus said, "Wonderful island-wonderful Thipwiman Resort. From May 18 till May 23 we restaurant was excellent."
Dwayne said, "loved it. if you are looking for a quite get away romantic location, this is it. We will be going back again."
mrs said, "Amazing hotel and location, rooms beautiful, we were in a basic and it was fantastic. The balcony was great, overlooked the bay. The restaurant and services were second to none and the pool was a great relief from the heat and very picturesque...but tnote there are only 6 beds usable the other two were under trees and very dirty from leaves etc. The biggest downside of this hotel are the steps. You dont go on holiday to have to work out but the 100+ stairs to and from our hut were ridiculous!"
Hector said, "We had such a wonderful time during our stay, specially because of the helpfull and friendly staff. if we have the chance for sure we ll be back.Greetings Hector and Arno."
Josefin said, "The best hotel we had during our four month traveling in Asia. Luxury at its best and good value for the money. The staff where very friendly and service minded. They only thing that was a little bit disappointing was the hotel restaurant, the view and the staff was great but the food was terrible."
Tony said, "Resort fine, rooms clean and most of reception ( other than one lady who attended our problems at the pier.) and all restaurant staff very helpfull The only problem we encounterd was when our bags were loaded onto the hotel pick up when we were leaving. Stupidly we left a large holdall bag with a hand bag inside. Inside the handbag was a purse containing money. Between the hotel and the pier the purse went missing We reported to the hotel but they were not sympathetic at all, saying the purse MUST have been lost elsewhere. WE know it was not. Unfortunatly we cannot prove how the purse went missing but we would advise all travellers to keep all hand luggage with them, even if you are ushered away from it. Rest of holiday a delight especially Cookies Resort in Koh Phangan"
Valeria said, "Very nice hotel with best sunset view in a restaurant and perfect cuisine, friendly staff. But there are some minuses: the included breakfast is very poor, 200 steps down to the sea, no sand there, just rocks (one of the best places for snorkling on Koh Tao), the pool is very small about 5*5m, the view from the pool is much worse than on the pictures here, because of the tall trees and plants. We every day in the evening there was sudden electricity switch off for about an hour - not a good thing especially in a hotel with too many steps around and in a hot climate."
Torstein said, "Great service (not always great english though), amazing views. 15min walk to closest village (about 150bath for transportation). BUT be prepered to have geccos and mosquitos in the bungalows, there were holes in the walls up to 2-3cm. Not what we expected when the price is so high. We left after 2 of 5 nights, and had to pay over 3000bath extra. Great if you can live close to nature and manage without ac (1000bath extra for ac!), but the bungalow standard to low with a so high price after my opinion. Just ok food in the restaurant, but very beutiful like the rest of the resort."
Jasmin said, "We spent four nights in this resort and we were very disappointed. There were constructions going on all the time in the resort and also in the resort next door they were building about 10 new huts and that in the high season! First we wanted to move out but we didn t want to make the effort to move again. So we talked to the women at the reception and got a discount. They were very friendly and helpfull. We got up early in the morning and came back late to the resort every day, otherwise it was impossible to stay there. It was so loud. They said, that there was a note about the construction in the homepage, but not when we booked it in November. The restaurant wasn t good either. The cook used far too much sugar for everything! And the waiters were friendly but they didn t speak english at all and there were misunderstandings all the time. The restaurant and lobby area were pretty, also the bungalow and the balcony. Also the pool was quite nice. But the prices in the spa were a joke. 4 times higher than everywhere else. The steps down to the huts were a horror, as they are too high and endless. We have been in many resorts in Thailand, but alltogether this was one of the worst resorts."
FAN said, "We booked honeymoon Garden for three days. We highly not recommend this hotel. We had the following adverse comments.1) Toilet located outside, inconvenient to us especially at night times;2) Low privancy inside the garden room;3) Electricity was unstable all the times, the lighting at room and toilet were dim. We experienced no electricity supply during hair dryer was turned on;4) The hotel and room are older to extreme degree than what we could see in the picture thro the web site;5) The breakfast was very poor and need to wait a long times for preparation;6) Noises from flying insects in the surroundings and frogs at the adjacent pond are disturbance;7) Not worth while to live in such rates;8) Far away from the Pier and no beach."
Inbal said, "In this hotel you feel like you live in the spa. The staff makes you feel like a king, you never need to ask anything twice. The room is clean and romantic and has a great view. The breakfast is the best I had in Thailand. The pool is a bit small but it s enough. The only flaw is the location and absence of beach. You need a motobike to get to Sairee beach or you can walk for 20 min. If you just want quiet and relaxing spa this is the place."
Annika said, "A very lovely place but we had a room next to a buildningplace and that spoild the staying a bit. The service was very good and the restaurang it s very good and the wiev outstanding. We we think that was a little bit to expansive then the room didn t have warmwater and it s was not so big that we hoped. The pool was very fantastic!"
Breda said, "Beautfull place, very relaxing & romantic. We exactly as in the brochures. Also i would highly recommend the spa, we spent a luxurious 3 hours being pampered, and we felt like we were floating on air leaving it. Definately take a taxi to the town and go snorkling off nearby islands - its well worth the 200 - 300 baht you pay for both the taxi and boat taxi. I am definately going back."
Wendy said, "This is a beautiful little boutique hotel with excellent service. Everything about it is classy and there are lots of little extra touches. We ate dinner in the restaurant twice and the food was outstanding both times. The waiter staff are charming. Our only dissatisfaction was with the fact that they are currently expanding and there was a lot of construction going on - some of it right in front of our unit spoiling our view. We were, however, given a small discount to compensate for this. Apparently this was advertised on their website but we weren t aware of it at the time of booking. All in all excellent value for money, not on the beach, but an easy motorbike / taxi ride down the hill. Highly recommended."
Ryan said, "Excellent - even during construction!"
Makiko said, "This is our second time to visit this resort. Despite the construction work on site, we still had a very enjoyable time, it did not really disrupt us. since our last visit in 2003, they have added beautiful swimming pool with gorgeous sea view, and luxurious spa offering a varity of massages and treatment at a reasonable price. The open air restaurant is unforgettable with great view and good food at the very reasonable price. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. This resort may not be suitable for families with small children(because of many steep hills and steps), but absolute getaway place for romantic holiday!!!!"
Chen said, "Very good resort! It s the best choice for the honeymoon holiday or for relaxing. If you like the scuba dive, Koh Tao is the best place to go, and the Thipwimarn Resort is the best place to stay."
Andrew said, "Thipwimarn Resort on Koh Tao is an amazing place. The staff were all extremely friendly and excellent with advice on where to go and what to see. The restaurant has an amazing view of the bay and is it situated on a hillside affording great sunset views. I would definately go there again."
YANG said, "Excellent hotle.Great see view in the room, resturant and the reception. The pool is small but have greate view to the sea. When we stay in the hotel we just like we were living in the jungle. However no beach in this hotel all are hard rock."
Jun said, "Just come back.I love this hotle,I can see the sea on my bed, fantastic!!!If I have time,I really want to spend more time there. The staff are very kindly~I already miss the lovely dog there, maybe it miss my snack too;)"
Alessandro said, "very nice place, fantastic view and cleaning rooms. The staff is very helpfull"
Kelsey said, "What an amazing place. Every view is like a view from God s window. This is a small piece of paradise nestled away in the Gulf Of Siam. The resort is charming, and the fact that it is smaller makes it even more special. The staff are EXTREMELY friendly and they fly the flag for the Thai reputation for smiles very high. Simg, Mit and the other waitering staff made each evening dining a pleasure. The restuarant has an unparalled view, with a soft breeze blowing through an orchid filled deck where diners are treated to exquisite Thai food. In a word - divine. The rooms are wonderful, we were in the honeymoon garden - and the privacy and tranquility was great. The pool area is awesome - not overdone, but again, understated and classy. In general the island is less populated than the others and it makes the whole visit more special. If you are looking for a special trip in a more laid back environment - Thipwimarn is the place for you. Thanks to all for a great experience. We will be back!"
Michael said, "Very beautiful place to enjoy a Holliday on Koh Tao. Nice and clean (Honeymoon) cottage with a fantastic view. Very good and affordable restaurant - with excelent service. Every needs taken care of.The swimming pool is not very big and in shadow most of the day all but with a magnificant view over the see. With only 12 cottages it may be large enough, but it looks like, that they are building more cottages. From some of the lower cottages You will loose some weigth on the stairs on the way to restaurant, pool and reception. There are some distance to beach and village - 20 min. of (very hot) walk or taxi. With all pro´s and con´s in fact, we are ready to visit again next time on Koh Tao. Very recomendable."
Leanne said, "We wonderful decor, with dark woods and white linen. Due to the hotel being built on a hillside the walk up and down the stairs were a bit of a mission - however it was worth it. The staff are great especially the waiters and the food is out of this world with a view. All in all I would be there right now if I didn t have to return home."
Katie said, "This resort is sensational. Rooms are beautiful, amazing views from the rooms and resturant. Stairs will definately keep you fit. Staff are all fantastic. We would definately stay at Thipwimarn again and recommend anyone staying on Koh Tao to stay there."
Barbara said, "This resort is a true oasis on the small and beautiful island of Koh Tao. The 11 bungalows are all very separated so that the private space is really private. Service is great. Breakfast is very nice, served on a terrace with stunning view to Sairee and Mae Had Beach. However, if you stay longer than 7 days, it might get a little boring, as you can choose only between 2 omelettes, musli and pancakes. Restaurant at night is served on the same terrace, food is nice but not the best on the island.Pool and spa is just great - pool with sea view, just great!I will travel there again, that is for sure!"
Jahn said, "very beautiful resort with an amazing view. staff is very friendly. We recommend this resort to everybody who would like to stay in a quiet and peaceful place, but only if you have no problems with stairs! Tip: take taxiboat, beach not too nice."
pappalardo said, "THE HOTEL IS SUPERB ONE OF THE BEST ON KO TAO THE STAFF ARE EXCEPTIONAL ESPECIALY SAM THE WAITER AT THE RESTAURANT COULD NOT DO ENOUGH TO MAKE US HAPPY I DEFINATLY RECOMMEND IT CANNOT POSSIBLY BE DISAPOINTED WE HAD A SUPERIOR ROOM WILL GO BACK NEXT YEAR PARADISE ON EARTH"
Katie said, "The resort is absolutely fabulous!! Very relaxing indeed. Just perfect. The people are very friendly. Highly recommended. Also, a good location for Sairee Beach."
David said, "We wanted to stay in a resort away from the main drag and nightlife - Thipwimarn provided just that. The resort was beautiful, built into the steep and rocky hills north of Sairee Village with fantastic views and no noise coming from the town. The resort has so many highlights, one of which was the swimming pool, which overlooked Sairee bay area and blends in seamlessly with the horizon. Many lazy afternoons were spent lying by the pool, gin and tonic in hand, gazing out to sea.The restaurant produced some great food, a limited breakfast menu (which was included with B+B), but enough for us. The evening meals were some of the best we had during our stay, not just because of the quality of meal, but also the helpfullness and friendlyness of the staff - they really helped make our stay even more enjoyable. Our Superior room was extremely comfortable, made up and thoroughly cleaned each day by the maids. AC worked very well, and to my suprise, no bugs were found crawling around. The TV received plently of English speaking channels included BBC World and some sports channels (showing premiership games!). Our only gripe was the location - we were at the bottom of the hill, meaning a 138 step climb (my wife counted!) to reception, and in the heat of the day, it meant a shower could be useful at the top! Still, it just added to the tranquility of the resort, much like the very noisy crickets, which chirpped through most of the day and night (sounding much like a rain forest!).Be prepared to hire a bike though, as the resort is about 1.5 miles from Sairee village+pubs/restaurants/dive shops. A round trip in a taxi cost more than a day hire of a bike - which was only 200bt.This is a perfect couples resort (it would make an excellent honeymoon stay), do not stay here if you are backpacking or if you want a lads/girls holiday.Could also do with a bar."
frederic said, "Excellent hotel with excellent staff. The hotel beach could be cleaner. The Spa treatment are a little bit overpriced. Overall a highly recommended place to stay for a very relaxing and romantic holiday. We will definitely come back."
Lasse said, "A wonderful resort in peaceful surrounding. Staff is doing everything to please you. The food we had was very well prepared. Perhaps the best we had in our 3 weeks in Thailand. BBQ king prawns was the best we ever had. Breakfast menu was a bit odd thou. Due to stormy whether, the small beach at the resort was very dirty and impossible to swim there. You have to consider extra money for transportation to other beaches, restaurants etc. Ore you can do what we did, rent a 4-weeler.The bungalows are very comfortable and tasteful decorated. The view from our bungalow (sea view 1) was breathtaking! If you have problems walking in stars, this isn’t the place for you.Swimming pool was beautiful located and very clean. This is the perfect resort if you want to change a busy life to breathtaking views, great food, soft atmosphere, wonderful staff accompanied with the sounds of birds, geckos etc. We are longing to our next visit at Thipwimarn resort."
Truls said, "Fantastic view, delicious pool, good rooms with TV and DVD. The resort is located in the jungle though, which leads to problems: lack of electricity, problems with A/C, some kind of animal-shit on the bathroom several times a day (probably rats). The most annoying thing was the lack of service, best described by our neighbours words: Is there anyone working here? We saw someone at check in, and we saw someone when we were leaving. In addition, the restaurant were closed 50% of our stay. Since the resort is outskirts, we had to use time and extra money to travel for eating. No one told us prior to check in, and no one suggested a compensation."
Li said, "First time to this resort, good service,I will come back again~~:)"
Jannicke said, "This hotel is absolutely amazing. Incredible views, a restaurant with great food as well as the most stunning views for both sunrise and sunset and impecable service from very freindly staff. We we will most certainly return."
Chris said, "First class service. Breath taking views. Already recomending to friends at home."
Geoffrey said, "The Thipwimarn resort was delightful. The staff is warm and friendly and goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. The free taxi service to a new beach a day is excellent and is a great way to see the island beaches. Snorkelling and gear rental was available at the 2 beaches we went to. The restaurant is very good. Only potential drawbacks are the distance from town and the stairs we had to climb everyday from our cabin. The views from the pool, the restaurant and the lobby were exquisite."
NGUYEN said, "very nice reportwe recomend itrestaurant, swiming pool and staff very nice toogood cuisinehoneymoon room 2 was very very nice only one thing not perfect : the bathroom not so nice but clean and in good condition : still good.some rooms look far from reception : many steps down might be tiring but not hooneymoon 2 it was well situated."
Julie said, "Hotel was lovely (beautiful views) and the staff were amazing. It was very peaceful and romantic.Unfortunately they had me doublebooked, so I the food was really good.Overall, I would definitely stay there again."
Sonia said, "Thipwimarn is the most luxurious resort on all of Koh Tao. If you want a shower (with complimentary shampoo, conditioner and lotion!), a western toilet, a mattress bed - then this is the place for you! Restaurant was gorgeous with traditional Thai style seats and tables; it is situated outdoors (half of it has a roof top) facing west - perfect for sunsets! Very romantic. Not much choice for breakfast, especially if you have food allergies like I do. The dinner menu had a plethora of choices and all very good tasting too. One night our waiter de-boned my fish for me! That was very helpful. This one waiter was very pleasant with us. We cannot say the same for the rest of the staff at the resort; they seem so miserable and to smile took so much effort. Maybe their boss should treat them better or they are just always having a bad day! The beach front does not exist - don t come for the beach! Come for a gorgeous room with an awesome view: we had a fan-cooled studio at the end of one of the many paths with many many steps. Fan was enough since the resort is on a hill around alot of trees and shade. It was very private, except the noise blaring from our neighbours TV one night. If you hate animals and nature then this is also not the place for you! We had two very, very large gecko encounters in our room - one in the closet and one in the shower. Oh ya, and a spider the size of my husbands hand above the toilet. Our room was an arachnid and lizard magnet! Since the beach is only good for a few nice pictures the resort offers a daily shuttle to a different beach each day! That was great. If you want to treat yourself for a couple of days after roughing it on the islands then Thipwimarn will relax you! How could I forget the pool! The gorgeous pool is built so that it overflows off one side; it appears like a waterfall! Very refreshing on a hot day."
