Claire stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2008-06-22 and said, "Such a beautiful island! Didn t want to leave, literally like being in paradise. The room was just standard but the view was fantastic, right on the beach. Would recommend one of the huts in the middle rather than up either of the mountains as there s lots of unstable steps to climb - scary doing it in the dark. Also they say that the view is better up the mountains, but a lot of the greenery is overgrown, blocking your view and making the middle section better. Lots of people have complained about the staff and service - we were always served good food very promptly so missed out on the bad experiences of others."
Sophie stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2008-06-21 and said, "Service and food really disappointing but the island is stunning and really well worth a visit."
Family stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2008-03-25 and said, "Nang Yuan is a really beautiful place! Bungalow is not new, but clean. However, it is the island itself with its environment and atmosphere that makes the place, and it becomes your own paradise when the day guests leave early in the afternoon. Excellent snorkeling and diving directly from the beach."
withheld stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2008-03-15 and said, "the islands themself are extremely beautiful and the coral reefs are stunningpity the same cant be said of the resort itself. They gave me room F8 which is a very far long hike and climb up a steep hill along a rickety wooden bridge which is in the process of collapsing. i certainly wouldnt have used it at night. the room was awful, dirty, and need of a lick of paint. I refused the room and was told i would have to pay 1500 baht extra per night for an airconditioned room near the beach(D12). this i gladly did. what a difference, a much nicer room which was much more modern and cleaner than F8. The manager is also a grumpy miserable man with no sense of humor.food is ridiculously expensive as well."
Shum stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2008-02-27 and said, "Only one resort on the island.Food is not good but you can see the beautiful sunset and the atmosphere is quite calm at evening."
ZHU stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2008-02-07 and said, "Good view, but there are many ants in the room."
Grahn stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2008-01-24 and said, "A great place to relax, bath, snorkeling and diving. Heavenly Island for romance and a lovely place for a tremendous sunset. The bungalows was OK but the restaurants service and capacity to serv the food to all guest at the same table in fairly same time was not acceptable. It was nearly nothing on the plates and two persons finished their plate before the next two plates arrive and our grandsons (2,5 year) dish arrives 5-10 minutes after everyone finished their dinner, (we ordered pancakes for him, how hard is that?. Miserable service and very bad timing (no timing at all, actually). However, I can recommend the soft shelled crab and thai dishes, but if you order pasta, ask for two portions if you don´t wish to have a starter. The fish was to dry and grilled to hard that the meat was almost gone. But I highly recommend them to train their restaurant staff in service, timing and the english language (I´m Swedish).Overall, I really recommend this place, It´s absolutely worth a visit for it´s spectacular beauty. I´m gladely come back for a visit."
Andrey stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2008-01-16 and said, "The location of the hotel leaves no doubt: it is a must when visiting Koh Tao. The water is much cleaner than anywhere else in the area, the dive- and snorkelling-sites are there and the corals are nice. In the evening, when there are just a handful of people around, the experience is almost mystical. There are very nice wooden ways around the island. Take a walk on them at twilight, when there are lights: this you won t forget in years. Promise. The island makes a great impression and the very basic accomodation comes actually very natural and is overall OK.There is only one big BUT: the stuff at the hotel s restaurant and the restaurant itself. It is NOT Thailand. It is so much out of the general rule. Very strange."
Ling stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2007-10-04 and said, "Expensive, old rooms and facilities."
Erik stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2007-07-20 and said, "What a great place on earth (and sea) and then a nice and clean accommodation too.Services should have top ratings and then there are even great discounts on the accommodation when signing up for diving school/events. Highly recommendable place."
Vibeke stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2007-05-10 and said, "This is a special place. We stayed here for 3 nights and with only one restaurant and one bar there is not mutch to do BUT we did relax, we did much snorkling and this is the most beatyfull place to do that. We stayed in junior suite and the view from here was fantastic, it was a nice and clean room. The staff was very friendly and most helpfull. We will be back again no doubt about that."
Jerry stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2007-02-13 and said, "Lovely hotel. Great breakfast. Wonderful staff. We stayed on the 4th floor of the main building with beautiful water view. Excellent location on the beach. Will be back!"
Louise stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2007-01-17 and said, "Very nice place! Everything was perfect and the staff was very nice. Good food in the restaurant!"
kate stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2006-11-26 and said, "Location: beautiful view, quiet and peacefull in mornings before the hoards of tourists arrive on boats and kill the serenity!Food: Over-priced and not great qualityStaff: STOLE A WALLET AND TOWEL FROM OUR LOCKED BUNGALOW!!! Not happy"
Wen stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2006-10-08 and said, "a very beautiful place to relax and enjoy yourself with the magnificent sight."
Yuan stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2006-08-30 and said, "Wonderful island and lovely house, the room is clean and the A/C works well, no hot water (who cares?). If you want to spend a whole quiet night and a peaceful morning on Nang Yuan Island, the resort is great for you!"
Tania stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2006-08-24 and said, "The island itself is very beautiful and we generally enjoyed our 5 day stay there. However for the price its not worth it - on Koh Tao and Koh Samui we were offered better rooms and service for less than half the price (our room 2500THB on Nang Yuan). The island is open to day visitors from 10am to 5pm so the tiny beach and the one and only restaurant gets very overcrowded. Food is overpriced for what it is and the restaurant service is especially bad - in our 5 days we got 3 meals to our table which were the wrong ones!! After taking a diving course we were pleased to learn that we would get our room discounted - however when it came to check out it didnt happen because we had booked through an agent Sawadee.com and no discount if thats the case. Overall we were very disheartened by the end of it... paying alot of money for the whole 5 days - its a shame really cause the place is beautiful, the diving is great (as well as the dive staff!) but we just expected more than what we got!!! My advice - spend a couple of hours on the island on one of the day trips and then move on - make sure that your lunch is included in your day trip price cause its nearly 300THB for the standard smorgasboard!"
NGUYEN stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2006-07-13 and said, "standard room with ac (d11) was well situated : nice view near beach but was really very basic. The electricity cut during day is a shame and the buffet offers almost always the same dishes. I would definitely recomend this island as a one day snorkeling/diving trip but I don t recomend to stay overnight."
Sonia stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2006-07-07 and said, "Amazing, pituresque island off the shores of Koh Tao. Lomprayah high speed catamaran took us from Koh Samui straight to Koh Nang Yuan (we had a reservation). Beautiful mountain view after an arduous hike up the hill and rocks - many camera opportunities up there. The restaurant is okay, breakfast buffet doesn t have many choices; there are many choices on lunch/dinner menu but boring if you re there too long. The service in all could be better, especially at the front desk upon arrival - try to make a better first impression! We spent 3 days and 2 nights on Koh Nang Yuan - for us that was enough time. Also, be warned that regardless of what room you book, ALL THE POWER on the island is shut down from 10am to 5 pm. Therefore, if you book an air-conditioned room (like we did!), it won t work during that time!! Although the island and beach are so beautiful and you will be on the beach, it is nice to have a cool room to take refuge in so that you don t get over-heated! Furthermore, make sure you occupy the beach chair and umbrella by 12noon because there are THRONGS of day tourists that will take them over! The day tourists is a big downfall - they fill the beaches and cause traffic while snorkeling!! They also bring loaves of bread into the water to take pictures! The fish come in schools - they actually bite thinking you are food yourself! They are trained to be fed by humans, it s pretty sad. The resort sells the loaves to these people! I mentioned how unnatural this was to one of the dive guides in the dive shop and he brushed it off! Feeding the fish for photo opportunities really bothered us. We had room K1; beautiful beach view and view of middle and north islands. It was a steep climb up concrete steps; not for the un-fit. We loved how the rooms were built into the natural surroundings and rocks. Basic decor, twin-beds, air-conditioning and fan in K1. Non-flush toilet - you actually have a tiled tub next to the toilet with a plastic scoop used to throw water down toilet bowl for a flush! They are common all over islands. We did not have hot water, so make sure you shower before sun down or the water does get pretty cool! We also rented the underwater camera for 2 hours; it was such a hassle to get our CD of the pictures we took afterwards. I had to ask the guy in the dive shop five times for my CD! He said he forgot or it wasn t a good time each time I went back! He was such a slacker. Big turn off. Bad service in regards to camera rental. Room was cleaned daily and gave clean towels. You could also rent out-dated DVD movies for free! The tides are fun to watch. So cool how much sand on the beach becomes engolfed by water in the evening and night. Very windy at night too. In sum, it s a great place to be for one or two nights just for the experience of being on such an idyllic island setting. By the third day you ll probably swim to Koh Tao if you had to... you ll know what we mean when you experience it! Enjoy the adventure :)"
Jie stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2006-05-04 and said, "nice place, Nang yuan island is so beautiful and quite place, suit for relax."

Qi stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2006-04-01 and said, "A great island, same as the Resort is.The staff is friendly and the view is wonderful."
John stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2006-03-01 and said, "A beautiful gem of a place. It was quiet and secluded, friendly staff. We will plan on spending at least 4 days there next time we visit. The snorkeling opportunities right there at the resort were outstanding and there is also a dive school there, which I hope to complete the next time we come."
jerry stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2006-01-29 and said, "great value, courteous staff, good food, beautiful location. We loved this place, but they do realize that you are stranded on their island. This is not to say it was unpleasant, but there was a seeming limit to customer satisfaction and the prices were a bit higher on things that shouldn t have been (i.e., i know why water should cost more, but not the fish). However, we ll go back, and i m sure we will enjoy it again."
Rose stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2005-09-10 and said, "We stayed at Nang Yuan for five days and can honestly say we wont be coming back. Yes it was beautiful. A tropical paradise. However this was not enough to outweigh the quality of the resort. We stayed in a double bed fan bungalow. Because there was three of us we had to pay more for an extra bed than the room itself. The extra bed was a very thin mattress on the floor. We didnt have any other space in the room and so had to move around to get to the bathroom on the main bed. Each night we were greated by many cockroaches which ran over the beds. However, the most difficult thing was to get to our hut from the main island we had to swim. The resort only provided a boat between the two islands at 6pm and 7pm. Therefore to get back to our hut to shower and change before the evening we had to swim with our bags carried on our heads. However some nights the current was so strong this was nearly impossible. When we asked to be taken back to our island by boat we were either told to swim or to wait until 6pm when they went out to pick people up. Although the food in the restaurant was good, it was in noway outstanding and certainly not worth what they charged. The prices, by thai standards, were unbelievably expensive. Bottled water cost 30baht compared to around 10baht everywhere else in thailand.Because plastic bottles arent allowed on the island you have to buy the water from there, so we ended up spending huge amounts on water alone-ridiculous.The diving, however, was fantastic!!The japanese garden is one of the most beautiful things i ve ever seen. The easy diving instructors-Camilo, Timo and Danish, are amazing.Definitely visit Nang yuan, it is beautiful, but stay on Ko Tao!!"
Beyers stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2005-07-14 and said, "Idyllic setting. We stayed at the family suite and double rooms, which were sufficiently comfortable, but provided nothing special. Great place to stay if you are a scuba diver, Eazi Divers provide an excellent service in probably the best location in the gulf of Siam. Resort Service is mediocre though, probably because it is the only facility on the island. Special requests are blatantly ignored."
Chan stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2005-07-13 and said, "We ve been in nanyuan island by daytour last year. it is beautiful so we decided to spend 2 nights here this year. We are not disappointed, it is great, everyone should stay here at least one time in their life. Many small fishes swin around you while snorkel. we lived in L5, it is far from the beach, so next time we will choose rooms nearby. the restaurant is great, thai style food is good. but there are cats stray around, sometimes they will jump to your chair and table. just because i am afraid of cats and dogs, it make me nervous when i dine.i will spend more if the restaurant provide room services next time. Actually , this year i found the island become crowded. many boats around, noisy than last year. some guys kayaking over the coral area, some kids feed the fish by potatos chips and then throw the packing on the beach, i am afraid it will damaged the coral and the enviroment. meanwhile, the water was not clear than last year. we do hope that next year we come again, the island will become better."
Mrs stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2005-06-24 and said, "We really enjoyed our 1-night stay at the island as our main intent was snorkeling. The bungalows (standard double)though a bit run down were adequate, the breakfast buffet was good with a nice selection and the staff was very friendly. If you come for the snorkeling and diving this is good value for your money."
Ms stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2005-03-30 and said, "Absolutely amazing scenery and pristine environment; I don t think I have ever had such a view from our room (upgraded to Q1 which was worth every penny ,as standard air room twin was ok but no flush toilet = a bit smelly and the double standard rooms are too small for 2 people really...this place is interesting it could be an absolute goldmine if it was well run...we are disappointed with management s attitude to the fact that the booking agency we paid a deposit through( not sawadee ) did not pass on money and booking to Nang Yuan Resort and (refund still be sorted with THEM ...if no money forthcoming will publish further detailsabout the Koh Tau agency concerned but be warned only pay thru Sawadee!)so had to pay twice...poor customer relations /service. quoting Thai law (ha!)for why they didn t have to bother...this kind of attitude will never attract repeat business from tourists..suspect they don t care... I think I smell govt sinecure jobs, perhaps?????.They reckon they only accept/welcome bookings directly to their website but their internet is always down so go figure...and they didn t want to know about Sawadee service...rather strange.I suspect this place likes to go nice and easy and live off daytripper revenue...it is leased from Thai govt ;it is an eco issue (works ,too its spotless)This means also that there is no water supply (shortage)for most of the day so folks ,if you need to go and you are in an upgrade room with flush toilet..too bad!I filled a bucket each day but the maid tipped it out while cleaning...duh!!!!The mandi toilet in the restaurant is grim at times and has to be approached in bare feet because it is compulsory wading pool to get to it...below par and smelly at timesYou have to buy water for an adequate supply of drinking water in the heat ( 2 bottles a day free!)and no plastic bottles allowed.Yes the restaurant is a little limited but food is quite ok and really cheap like most of Thailand in real terms. The Dive School was great, overall according to my partner although most of the instructors were excellent (Sth African and others; the French guy was a bit switched off and couldn t care less apparently)their hire gear was a bit limited.Breakfast was really disappointing and unimaginative ...noodles ,Chinese /Thaistuff,not much allowance for Western tastes, huge wasted amounts of hunks of cake and bread ,left to the flies; good eggs, but not enough of what eco style resorts should offer ; a variety of fresh fruit etc it all went fast ,but did anyone notice/care?Cable tv switched off abruptly straight after brekky while you are watching CNN...staff don t care if you are watching it at the time.Bring dvds to watch n your room, their dvd library is at least 5 years out of date.Overall,If you want a divine, and i mean outstanding location ,clean ,clear water and beaches this is for you, but be aware of couldn t care less attitude of management, and lots of chattering daytrippers pottering around in the water and snorkelling plus Europeans determinedly going for blisters andsunstroke.transport there... make sure you have it straight that the Catamaran takes you all the way to the island not just to Koh Tau ...some confusion over this had us stuck at that unfriendly little office/waiting ara for the Lompraya Catamaran for an hour with overworked below par mandi toilet and unhelpful ,rude snotty Thai girls on the desk..we could have gone on on the Cat!!!Think Koh Samui has the edge in friendliness, services and service if less pristineMiss P"
LUCINDA stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2005-03-27 and said, "The island is absolutely beautiful and definitely worth visiting. Hotel room was decent and clean enough with semi-effective air-conditioning. The hotel restaurant is not of the high standard we experienced in Koh Samui but this does not matter greatly as it is such a great place to be."
lei stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2005-03-13 and said, "fantastic environment, fantastic island and fantastic hotel. I like it so much"
Kenneth stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2005-02-25 and said, "I would not stay here again at any price due to the poor restaurant service. It brings a new meaning to the term tourist trap as there is only one restaurant on the island and the food is poor, the service absolutely awful and the prices double those in Koh Tao. On our last night, it took 20 minutes to get a menu, another 20 minutes to take our drink & food order, and another 40 minutes to get our first drink (yes, one hour & 20 minutes from we we sat down). We brought it up to the self declared Hotel Manager (who I noticed also doubles as the egg cook in the mornings) and he refused to discount or even give us a complimentary beverage. He told us it was impossible because he would have to do the same thing to the other guests (as there were other several other tables in our section that were upset). The next morning I talked to the owner and he credited our meal. On the positive side, the dive staff is excellent and the surroundings beautiful. The rooms are also clean and some afford a very good view. Next time, I would just come for the day on a long-tail and avoid the restaurant. If I did stay the night, I would take the hotel shuttle boat into Koh Tao and eat at a decent restaurant for half the money. Bottom line, the resort seems to be sold-out during high season and their restaurant is short staffed."
Stephen stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2005-02-22 and said, "Nang Yuan was a true escape from the real world - you can relax on this island! It is beautiful, the sea lovely and the snorkelling ideal! The hotel was lovely and the rooms serviced every day. The rooms have air-con. The resturant was ok - the service slow. The breakfast was included and was good but make sure to get there early otherwise you may not have much to choose from. All-in-all, a beautiful place to visit for a day or two."
Xinghua stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2005-02-07 and said, "Paradise!!Don t miss Nangyuan if visit Samui or Koh Tao, and better to stay at least one night there. We lived in room Q1, which has the unbelievable view also shown in the resort s advertising brochure. Highly recommend room Q1-Q3.Staff service is excellent, although the inhouse facility is not as good as in Samui, such as the toilet flushing & TV, but the exclusive view will make you forget. So many fishs around us when snorkeling. Next time I ll try scuba diving. Don t forget to take your water proof cover for your camera!Pricing is also very good. I should expected to pay twice or 3X for what I got here.Overall, it s a very very pleasant & memorable experience for us during staying in Nangyaun.Thank all the kind staff, and Thank Thailand!"
Kristina stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2005-01-30 and said, "The resort is a little run down. The service at the restaurant is very slow. On 4 occasions the waiters forgot our meals/drinks. Often waited close up to an hour before receiving meals/drinks. Overpriced for what you get. The 3 beaches are beautiful. Water is clean and clear, good snorkelling, however, lots of dead coral on the sand which makes walking a little uncomfortable without shoes."
Marco stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2004-09-06 and said, "This is a unique and great holiday resort destination if you want diving, relaxation, diving, snorkelling, diving, beautiful beaches and more diving.... I completed the 4-day open water course on my stay and would thoroughly recommend it, as the staff at the dive shop (Sally, Camillo, Raphael, Daniel, Chantelle etc) are all very helpul and make you feel like part of the crew... although I booked a Deluxe bungalow it still seemed quite basic, the only Deluxaties being the hot water and the aircon (a must). However you will not find a place like it anywhere else and the service was on the whole good. Well worth a visit but make sure you pack all your luxuries and take them with you."
Maria stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2004-09-04 and said, "The place is very beautifuul and we did the best snorkeling during our stay in the Golf of Thailand. We booked the best boungalow on the island and the view was really amazing. The only restaurant is too expensive and the food is very common. Only the expensive dishes are not bad."
Franz stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2004-06-06 and said, "views and island absolutley beautiful staff freindly and helpful couldnt really fault the place would go back again but must travel the rest of thialand first"
Nick stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2004-02-22 and said, "We enjoyed our stay very much. The Island is unique, quiet ... a dream.Rooms Q1 and K9 are good. Breakfast-Buffet is simple, Menu-Card is extensive, food is delicious.Service could pay a little more attention (except for Dada who is very gentil).Diving spots are great, like the diving school is. Very nice guys.We recommend this hotel for people who like relaxing, simple atmosphere and want to have a diving course."
Ari stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2004-02-17 and said, "We enjoyed 4 nights in nice bungalow on the island right from the reception island. It was just as good as expected. Excellent view over the bay, clean bungalow with VCD and fan plus refregirator. Restaurant service was first class and meals delicious. One thing could be improved and that is the staff training in case of emergency.Highly recommendable to people injoying diving/snorkeling and relaxing."
Anna stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2004-01-03 and said, "Hotel was amazing, the views are fabulous, it was a shame about so many day trippers turning up each day and I expected a higher level of enviromental awareness but the dive school was fabulous and the diving out of the world."
aaron stayed at Nang Yuan Island Dive Resort on 2003-12-27 and said, "This hotel was awesome. I loved everything about it. The view from our room and deck was great. It is quiet and the rooms were clean. The staff is very nice and helpful. Day trippers do come to the island but I was diving at the time and did not care. At the end of the day, you have the place to yourself. The food at the restaurant was very very good. Good variety but I stuck to the local cuisine. The diving was fabulous. John, the dive master, who runs the shop is a great guy. He is very good at what he does and we had a wonderful time. I just wish we would have stayed a few more days. Highly highly recommend this place. Note: the resort is not for everyone. Depending on the times of the tide changes you could be swimming from your room to dinner or to breakfast but who cares when you are in paradise."
