Jennifer said, "the charm churee villa is located on the private beach area of jansom bay, which is a perfect spot to be. the water is super clear and colorful fish fearlessly swim up to you as soon as you set foot in the water. the food at the resort is delicious and reasonably priced. i have only a couple complaints--the bed was extremely hard, almost like it was just a box spring. and i wish they carried san mig light beers. all in all, we enjoyed our time there."
Nadav said, "Amazing hotel, great location. the staff are great - always smiling and willing to assist in any way.We really had a great time!"
lelubre said, "We snorkeling, probably the best beach on Koh Tao. We had a beautiful room located directly on the beach. Very nice outdoor bathroom. Very friendly and helpful staff who really wanted us to feel good. Rather expensive, but absolutely worth the money."
Family said, "We just want to add that Charm Churee Villa has the most beautiful outdoor restaurant with really good food."
Sletten-Hansen said, "Great stay! The hotel rooms were clean, large and cosy with large covered porchs. The panorama bungalow (which we had the first 2 days) were a bit more than 3 minutes from the beach. When an opening occured we were offered to change to a beach front bungalow with seperate entrance to the sea. The staff were nice and accomodating in every way."
Gordon said, "We really enjoyed the privacy and the beautiful cove which had fabulous snorkeling. It was just down the path from our very large room. Breakfast was always a treat, as we sat overhanging the clear waters, and feeding the fish."
BRIAN said, "My wife and I side of the bay. We could literally dive into the water from a small jetty at the side of the bungalow into the water which is very clear and a fantastic bit for snorkelling...was teaming with all sorts of aquatic life and visibility was actually quite good. The food at the hotel was always good, and the location is about 7 or 8 minutes walk from Mai Had beach and the night life .Huge downside about the hotel at the moment is construction work on a few new villas being built near the reception area.We were shown 4 rooms/villas before we could get one far enough away for the noise not to be a nuiscence...which we had to pay extra for!Note: resort is very hilly and with the heat was very uncomfortable when going out at night. If you find any degree of walking strenious, I would seriously avoid this hotel. If not it is an axcellent resort with a trully beautiful beach and bay area...stunning!"
Shereen said, "We have just arrived home from our honeymoon in Thailand and overall had an awesome time. We they had a pretty cheap minibar (as cheap as minibars get). We enjoyed the private beach as the other beaches weren t really set-up for swimming. We only ate complimentary daily breakfast here - there was very limited variety. We learnt quickly upon arrival in Thailand to eat in the towns as opposed to the Hotels. It is heaps cheaper and tastes better. I would recommend the italian restaurant which has the Italian chef (La Matta I think) and the Amsterdam for Thai and Western food. The service at the Charm Churee was good - no problems. Not too far to walk to town but far enough away. Not sure if I would stay again (more because I would want to try something different). There was a nice resort next door to it (that you walk through to get to the town). It seemed really nice (from the outside anyway) would probably give this a try."
Elena said, "I m a retourning customer; this is my second time at the Charm Churee Villa Resort. This Resort is the most beautiful place in Kho Tao. Excellent staff, beautiful secluded bay with a wonderful reef. We had a panorama villa N. 42 which was amazing and overlooking the bay.I hope to come back in this paradise as soon as possible. :-)Elena and Fabrizio from Trieste Italy"
Bruce said, "Excellent hotel with great little private beach. Ten minute walking distance to town. Helpful staff and upgrade to huge villa."
Ji said, "This place was amazing! The staff were great, they all spoke good english and were very helpful. The food was great and reasonably priced.Charm churee villa has a beautiful location, great facilities, we would go back again.Loved it!"
Sarah said, "If you plan to stay on the island in the monsoon season, my advice is not to stay here! It is the furthest hotel from the main village and the path is not lit at night. Apart from that and the cockroaches in the rooms the service was reasonable and the food nothing special."
Haley said, "The most beautiful little sandy cove with transparent turqoise sea surrounded by huge boulders between which are perched a small number of thatched beautifully appointed bungalows - so thoughtfully decorated to a very high standard. We had beach front villa and were amazed by the facilities, large bedroom, up a couple of steps to a toilet (incl bidet, toilet and urinal!) a couple more steps to a bath and shower area, open a door to an outside shower area nestled between rocks! The children loved snorkelling out to the rafts, sitting on them and then diving off and feeding the fish was incredible - the water fizzes with fish! The staff were all extremely friendly and warm. Enjoy drinks up to 6pm at the beach bar and then after 6pm at the restaurant bar and watch amazing sun sets."
Daniela said, "The location and the villas are great: we it was beautiful. Also the Spa and the beach are very nice, the hotel personnel are all very kind and helpful. Just a couple of remarks regarding the breakfast (definitely too poor) and the Chaba restaurant: the location is unforgettable, the service was quite good but the food was not very high quality - both the taste and the food presentation should be improved. In any case we will come again."
Peter said, "We were a family of four (Kid s 11 and 8)and had to take two delux villas as no family villa was available. We were promised two villas next door to each other, which would have been good as they have connecting doors. However instead we had one above the other which was far less convenient. Also note that the children had to share a double bed. Apart from that we enjoyed our five days there. The private beach is beautiful and there s good snorkelling right from the water s edge, as the clear waters are full of fish. The staff were friendly and helpful, and organised boats trips and taxis for us.The food was a bit disappointing, not up to the standard we expected from the rest of the accommodation. However we soon discovered Sensi Paradice down the path towards the town (only five minutes walk) which has an excellent restaurant and I would recommend eating there."
Mark said, "Wonderful and charming place! Sunset villa #38 is awesome if you can handle the walk up n down the forest paths and villa steps. The food was ok but dinner resturant menu pictures were somewhat different than what was served - be sure to confirm what you are getting served. Breakfast buffet is great deal!Friendly and helpful staff!Definately will return with more time to #38- THANK YOU!"
Charlotte said, "This is a very nice hotel, we really enoyed our stay, can´t complain about anything! Great service! The best snorkelling we have had in Thailand!"
Marina said, "Paradise in daytime nightmare at night! This place are not good for the money. Very overpriced. We then we moved over to nr 20. When we smell the cigrett smoke very clear through the very thin wall. You could not go to the loo and feel privat bacuse the thin wall. The bathroom was outside and when it rain everything get whet. The construction was very bad and simple. We had a rat inside the house one night. Climbing rihgt over our bed. And very big spiders inside. The bathroom was full of bats in the night. The beach look nice but was full of see cucumbers and sharp corals. The area was very dark and quit in the nigt a bit spooky."
Timothy said, "Charm Churee is a quiet comfortable place for honeymooners and families to stay. An unusual combination, perhaps, but the space between chalets means that you can feel like you are the only guests staying there. Our Panorama Room was spacious and the bathroom was huge. Given the space available, it could have been less sparsely furnished - there were no comfortable chairs inside, for example. The beach is pleasant although there are nicer ones on the island that are better for families with small childen as they have large shallow lagoons. Jansom Bay is non tidal in that it shelves steeply and therefore the size of the beach varies very little betwen tides. Very helpful reception staff. The restaurant has a pleasant setting but that s about all. A lot of room for improvement here. Most guests staying for more than one night ended up eating at the excellent Sensei Resort Restaurant next door. The Elvis Bar shuts at 6:00 pm for some reason and the Spa is the most expensive on the island, perhaps why the Spa manager repeatedly informed us thet her staff had been trained through some famous masseur from New York. The access road is terrible and most taxi drivers will automaticlly double their fee to take you to Charm Churee and riding a scooter up to the resort is dangerous (but that is true for most of the island). In all, we enjoyed our stay, however after a few days the concerns outlined above led us to believe that Charm Churee is a nice place to stay but is rather overpriced for what you actually get. Having said that, there is not a huge amount of choice in this upper mid-range bracket. If you are travelling around Thailand, I d suggest staying somewhere cheap on Koh Tao and save your accommodation money for somewhere else where it really counts."
Melanie said, "Koh Tao is great for the see life and definitely a place to see. As for the Charm churee, it s a lot of churee and sure enough no Charm. It s the most overpriciced place I ve ever been to and I really do not recommend it to anyone. The pics on the net were great but that s all that is great."
Ethan said, "Our beachfront room was amazing to say the least. The staff was great. The bay had great snorkeling. The pathways ways were very arduous especially in the heat....if you cannot exercize this resort is not for you. Would return in a heartbeat and will recommend to everyone I know."
Barker said, "AWESOME! I am a very discerning traveler, and was extremely sceptical about going to KT. We chose Charm Churee is it seemed the lesser of the diving island s evils. In hindsight, this hotel was way better than some of the VERY expensive hotels we used on Koh Samui (Nora Beach, Central Samui). We got room 38, high on hill, newly constructed (panoramic). I strongly recommend this roomn. Cheapest rooms in hotel are considerably less impressive tho. BUT, beach is great, hotel food is good, proximity to town is perfect (easy walk), staff are great, and it s NOT a rip-off. Rest of islands charge plus-plus, and large prices for mini-bar. CC minibar and concktails etc are so cheap it s a no-brainer to consume as much as you want. PS: We spent 3 days in Kao Tao, and 2 weeks on Koh Samui, then on to Bangkok. We found that all diving excursions from Koh Samui go to KT anyway - so rather stay there longer - island is not as desolate as web will lead you to believe. Also, trip from KS to KT is brutal - try to avoid doing this too often!"
Lucy said, "This is an absolutely fantastic hotel. I highly highly recommend it. Kao Tao is beautiful but this is definitely the best hotel on the island. It is in a private cove and has stunning views. We the views are gorgeous. The food isn t that good but it doesn t matter as there are plenty of places to eat within walking distance. They can let you hire your own long tail boat too which is just amazing and so cheap!"
Devere said, "The best lacation on Tao.. For sure. The beach is coral.. but dont let that put you off, it means the water here is the clearest and best on the Island. There are hundreds of fish in the water as soon as you step in!! The room we even s squirrel in our room at times.. It is all natural and not a drama.. But jet be warned.. You are not alone!! :)Enjoy."
Oliver said, "very nice, it is close to a paradise. It is not cheap, but the location and the atmosphere you will never forget."
Julian said, "Very nice hotel. The room which we helpful and the restaurant was also good. Laundry service was expensive"
Peter said, "The location is nothing short of stunning! Great beach and snorkeling in Jamson Bay. We mode when setting foot here. Good food at the hotel but it can take a while to get it... :) Bare in mind a long tail into the village is only 150-200 baht one way. We would definitely stay here again if we go back to Ko Tao."
Lennart said, "We enjoyed our stay at Charm Churee Villa very much, Very friendly staff, nice rooms/bungalows etc. The only thing was the really big differences of altitude with many staircases. The small beach was lika a paradise"
Merit said, "An excellent choice when visiting Ko Tao. It s in Jansom bay which is a nice private beach with good snorkelling. Our room was right on the beach with a priceless view. Extremely good value."
Aubrey said, "Resort situated at jansom bay, a great place for relaxing. best for snorkel, many fishes and coral you will see. but the beach is too crowded , may be it is the peak time for visit. the staff is nice. we spend 3 nights there and really enjoy it. by the way, the restaurant provide various food but not so good."
caroline said, "We thought it was absolutely amazing. Jansom Bay is beautiful with crystal clear waters and plenty of fish. The beach rarely gets too busy and Charm Churee try and ensure there are enough beds for the guests. The villa was great with a nice decked area to sit and relax. I can t think of any negatives apart from the steps up to the restaurant which was nothing too arduous.Would definately recommend Charm Churee to anyone its a must for Koh Tao."
Rattana said, "Everythings was perfect. Staffs very nice and helpful. Our hotel staff from Samui has contect Charm Churee Villa to let them know when will we arrive. They were there waiting on us. When we arrived at the Villa, they served us drink and informed us that we ve got a free upgrade, WOW! It s the best of everything - perfect. My husband left 2 lit. of liquor (from duty free) in the waiting area overnight untill noon and still there when we got there. Staff has been watching and wait for the guest to pick it up. Good food there too. Next time we will stay here again. Last word to say - Perfect."
Racheal said, "Great hotel & friendly staff, but with the wrong season. I sure with be back."
Leahanne said, "Charm Churee is nicely positioned on the sea-front of the lovely island of Koh Tao. We found the rooms only ok, there was a slight damp/old smell, which didn t go away. The rooms were fitted out fine though with a fridge and place to sit. The main problem we encountered was the amount of steps in the complex which wasn t mentioned to us when we booked - anybody who is older or unfit might find them a problem as to get to the private beach you have to climb many steps. Also the private beach only gets the sun at certain times of year (not when we were there!) and this was very annoying. On the positive side the staff were very nice and helpful and they have a walkway lit up to enable you to walk to town."
Britta said, "Lovely place with the very best service,There was a lot of climbing up and down the steps. You have to be fit enough to make it."
Julia said, "Would be beautiful, but DO NOT go to Kho Tao in Nov/Dec- terrible winds and huge seas (we didn t go swimming at all and didn t see anyone in the water. Many people terribly seasick on catamaran from mainland. We weren t warned."
Anthony said, "Amazing place... the first thing that comes to mind is the service. Every person that we dealt with was extremely helpful, very friendly, and eager to make our stay as wonderful as it could possibly be. The food at this resort is amazing and cheap(this is coming from a chef!) It is such a uniqe landscape as each bungulaw is situated amongst boulders and trees or nestled on the sandy beach of Jansom bay. The view is breathtaking from every and any point within this resort. The breakfast is awesome. It s a beautiful 10 minute stroll into town. I cannot wait to go back!"
Christina said, "This hotel and especially, its Chaba seafood restaurant provided us the most romantic night during our whole trip in Thailand and Cambodia. Listening to the sound of the waves crashing on rocks, fresh wind blowing the hair, great food and services, and very importantly, the romantic and ecological settings of the desks and seats... I highly recommend this hotel."
Tia said, "Charm Curee could not have been more beautiful, it was the highlight of our vacation! The staff was unbelievable, the suite was gorgeous, the food and drinks absolutly delicious! There is a beautiful private lagoon at your doorstep and you dont even have to leave the beach for spectacular snorkling! Could not have enjoyed ourselves more, a romantic paradise!"
Kit said, "The Jansom Bay in Charm Churee Villa was stunning. The staff was friendly and nice. I think I will be going back again."
Elena said, "the most beautiful resort in Kho Tao. friendly and excellent staff. wonderful location...I m looking forward to came back as soon as possible!!! Elena Di Poi"
Elena said, "The most Beautiful resort in Kho Tao with and an excellent staff. I m looking forward to come back as soon as possible. Sawadee ka Elena Di Poi"
manuela said, "wanderful location. janson bay is one of the best beach in koh tao.we was fantastic, but if you don t choose the villas directy on the beach you have to make many steps to reach it. a little overprice."
Giorgia said, "...simply wonderful...the accomodations, the location, the staff (all were very very kind and smiling!)...The beach is one of the most beautiful of the island...you can feel in paradise. Very nice also the SPA, offering great packages for your relax. And also a very positive note on the restaurant: really romantic and great food!!!! I would like to come back soon!!!"
Malin said, "Absolutely perfect! Great beach, great snorkling right at the beach, the rooms are very nice and the service could not be better. The restaurant is also one of the better in Koh Tao."
Stephen said, "We terrace. However the decor was a little tired and access to the room was an issue with poorly maintained uneven steps. You had tobe really careful especially at night. Jamson Bay is very picturesque, with a great little bar and restaurant with friendly staff serving tasty inexpensive lunches. The beach is open to the public who can rent sunbeds for 100bht. which was annoying when all the sunbeds were taken on the day of our arrival. The resort also should provide foam cushions for the sunbeds,as this is not the cheapest place to stay on Koh Tao. Overall we enjoyed the experience but I not sure we will return to the Charm Churee to stay."
Karen said, "Very peaceful and relaxing hotel within easy walking distance to Mae Haad.A great place to chill out for a few days."
Nathan said, "We had a nice stay at Charm Churee. We nice, however it was fairly plain so don t expect anything too posh. But unless you plan on spending large amounts of time in your room then that is probably not a big concern. The private beach is Fantastic! You can order drinks and food while sitting on a beach chair 5 feet from the water! Definitely one of the cleanest beaches on the island. The food at the restaurant is good and the staff are quite friendly. Mae Haad Pier is within walking distance (if you re not carrying lots of bags). All in all an enjoyable place to stay."
