Jessica stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2008-01-20 and said, "Absolutely perfect. Fabulous location, beautiful rooms and pools! About a 5 min walk to the full moon party beach so quiet enough to get some sleep when the time comes. Right on sunset beach so stunning to watch the sunset as you have a drink by the pool. Definately reccommend it."
Will stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2007-12-08 and said, "This resort wasn t too bad. It had a preety nice view and was somewhat quiet while I was staying there. The price was a little much, but overall a decent experience. I give this place a 6 out of a possible 10."
Petrina stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2007-11-23 and said, "the hotel was excellent, the staff were very friendly. close to walk to the full moon party. we had a beachfront bungalow (01a), very spacious and comfortable, tour desk was excellent. will stay there again this new years. highly recomend!!!!"
Effie stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2007-09-07 and said, "We booked a beachfront bungalow which I suggest is the way to go on this resort. The rooms were fairly comfortable.I cannot speak highly enough of the ladies at the massage salon who were naturally friendly and warm. However, this resort needs a major face-lift as the facilities are run down including the restaurant area so dont expect great food. Breakfast was very disappointing. There is also no pool bar which also disadvantages this resort."
Anne stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2007-08-08 and said, "Very nice hotel situated at a convenient distance from party related noise at night. The surroundings, however, are not particularly attractive. The area is extremely dirty (they burn garbage along the side of the street) and it is evident that it is mainly aimed at attracting backpackers. BUT - the hotel was fine, the room was clean and the pool area great. The food is not excellent, but very cheap and actually much better at the hotel than in the city centre."
Ronald stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2007-06-26 and said, "The hotel was lovely, very nice rooms but a little small. Both pools were immaculate. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We had problems with the AC on 4 occassions which led us to leave 5 days early. The engineer each time came out and fixed the AC one time it was at 3 AM !!!! not what we wanted to deal with on a vacation. The beach is awful if you want to call it a beach !! No ocean swimming or it can be extremely hazardous due to the very rocky conditions. I will return to the Phanganburi Resort for a sedentary vacation for sure. The FULL MOON party was absolutely outrageous !!!!!"
Nanna stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2007-06-07 and said, "Nice hotel with great pool area and very friendly staff. Bungalow was nice and clean, had a good location and a nice sea view. Excellent spa!! A bit far from downtown, and there is not much light on the roads when its dark. We could have wished it was a bit closer, then the hotel had been perfect."
Tony stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2007-04-30 and said, "i liked the hotel. the staff was very friendly and spoke different languages which made it easy to communicate. they had continuous taxi(some free) stopping at hotel to bring guest to beach. it was very clean and for the price worth it. i would not reccommend getting any further from the haad rin beach than phanganburi. this is about as far away as you can get before it is a horrible hassle. some place around the island, i would not stay at for free. getting taxi s will cost a lot because you will frequently be going back and forth from the beach."
Irit stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2007-04-09 and said, "OK,not too good. Holes in sheets, the deluxe room wasn t that luxure . But all in all not bad"
Duncan stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2007-04-08 and said, "Nice resort in a good location right near the Haad Rin beach where the full moon party is. The restaurant was good, staff friendly and the pool is nice.Only issues were that the beach that the hotel is on, is fairly average and there are a million staff who always made noise in the morning and woke me up.There was a much nicer spot on the other side (North?) of the island where there is a cove, with a nice semi-surf beach and better settings. A lot of the Germans stay there.Highly recommend getting a bike and going round the island, some great views!"
David stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2007-03-09 and said, "Accomodation was a little beyond our budget, but was an excellent place to chill out for a few days in comparative luxury. Only complaint would be the showers, The most drought affected parts of Australia would use more water."
Sanjay stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2007-03-01 and said, "good resorts, nice front desk, very conveniently located.shall return again."
ian stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2007-02-06 and said, "The Phanganburi Resort is a great hotel in a fantastic location, definitely the best hotel to stay in near Haad Rin. It is located on the quieter sunset beach {Haad Rin Nai}with two pools, but only 5-10 mins walk away from all the action - all the fun, but none of the noise. Breakfast has improved from last year, the staff are more organised. All the staff were friendly, spoke good English, + very helpful. The rooms are clean + nicely decorated, they have all you need -mini bar, air conditioning, hot water, + TV. Free pick up from Haad Rin pier was great -just ring them the night before to arrange. Great place if your after a bit of comfort, but want GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY"
Richard stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2007-01-30 and said, "Very good location. one of the best hotels at Hat Rin. The staff do not speak very good english so it is hard to communicate with them at times."
Andrea stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2007-01-29 and said, "ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!!! They say its not the place but the people who makes something good. In Phangan Buri s case they are both excellent. The surroundings are as nice as you will find on koh phangan and the staff were excellent!!! in particular Zo and Steve who are waiters in the bar! The only real issue we had was with airport transfers as the girl at reception forgot to send someone but after i called them they had someone meet us at haad rin pier. I chose Phangan buri on the recommendations of two friends who recently stayed there and i was not dissapointed!!!!Say hi to Zo and steve for me!!!!"
mueller stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2007-01-08 and said, "actually quite a nice hotel. nevertheless, to expensive for what you get. we stayed for 4 days, no cleaning in this 4 days, only new towels and made the bed.the kitchen is poor for thai-standard, but service is friendly. price for service and the rooms is just too expensive."
Amanda stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2006-11-30 and said, "The Phangan Buri Resort and Spa was excellent, the rooms were lovely and clean and the staff were really friendly! The hotel is situated on Haad Rin Nai, which meant we were lucky enough to have beautiful sunsets every evening with a much more secluded and quiet beach. We were however there for the full moon party and the hotel is close enough to either walk to the centre of Haad Rin or catch a taxi for 30 baht each. Would definitely recommend this resort!"
Garth stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2006-10-23 and said, "A very nice resort, although at the time we stayed there the front pool was out of order so we had to make do with the pool at the back of the resort. Staff were not overly friendly and the included breakfast was nothing special though overall very good value for money. A reasonable, 10 minute, walk from Haad Rin beach makes it close enough to the action but also quiet enough to relax. I would certainly consider staying here again."
motek stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2006-09-24 and said, "very good, quiet from one side and close to sunrise on the other,we stayed 3 more days! recommended!"
Jeannine stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2006-09-09 and said, "very nice resort, we had the beachfront bungalow which was actually -though the cheapest- probably the one with the best view!!! and with an own terrase... they have 2 pools, one which is great and good to use instead of sea which is very shallow... and not good for swimming at all... no snorkeling either!breakfast-buffet was delicous.. had nice pancakes and eggs(all stiles) if you tell sawadee they will ask resort to pick you up from Had Rin pier free of charge..when we arrived there was nobody cause they were so busy.. we just took a tuk tuk and the hotel -receptionist gave us back the money .. VERY OK!!!we could have actually walked as well, as it was not too far!! which is convenient for the evenings... as you can walk into the lively city very nice!!!"
Toby stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2006-09-05 and said, "We took an exclusive room for one week in the run up to the full moon party. Our room was situated on the beach next the main swimming pool. The room was large, well designed and airy, with a pleasant veranda to boot. It could get loud during the day, but never unpleasantly so and not once did we have trouble sleeping. Ideally located for Haad Rin there are bars in the hostel next door and all the facilities were great. Only reservations were the plentiful cockroaches in the bathroom they hid in the shower rail - didn t bother me but my girlfriend wasn t over the moon. Also they didn t clean the room much. Oh and while the fruit juices/shakes were great, the food wasn t as good as elsewhere.Overall glorious looking place where you can have a great time and really handy if you’re doing the full moon thing but want a bit of luxury."
Ilona stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2006-09-03 and said, "Best thing of this resort is the location, only 10 min. walk from Had Rin town and the beautiful pools. The bungalows were nice but for the price we had paid we d expected a little bit more comfort. Beach is not good for swimming but Had Rin has a beautiful beach and is pefect for swimming. Staff is very nice, relaxed, just like the whole island is! Would recommend it! Ilona from Holland"
Peter stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2006-08-22 and said, "We stayed in a beachfront bungalow, that was placed as close to the beach as possible. The best things with the hotel were the poolareas (really nice) and the location (Nice and quiet with walking distance to all the action in Haad Rin). The room was sterile and boring, with a 80 s feeling of the colour settings. Probably the most uninspiring restaurant we have seen in Thailand. We will not stay here again.FYI if you haven t been to Phangan before: The beach on this side of the peninsula is not good for swimming!"
kjetil stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2006-08-08 and said, "The resort is a nice one, with lovely pool areas, and friendly staff. But the shower water has an odd smell and the beach was rather bad. Breakfast was also just average. If your going to Koh Phangan go to panviman..."
Anne stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2006-07-03 and said, "The hotel was beautiful and the staff were very friendly. It is so close to the main party area, only a 5min walk but at the same time is quiet so you can relax if your not up to partying as the hotel is on the opposite side of the party beaches!"
Martin stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2006-06-20 and said, "Rooms are quite small but the pool and restaurant are all lovely. Good location, though not much of a beach on this side of the island."
Reni stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2006-06-15 and said, "this hotel was great, had 2 great pool and the service was great also, what i dont like its the internet service, have to pay so much and also slow.i wish the internet was good like in bangkok.expensive but cool"
william stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2006-04-12 and said, "great hotel, nice room with view of sea, staff very helpful. good location, 10 minute walk to full moon party. would stay there again."
Lee stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2006-04-09 and said, "This seemed to be one of the only hotels on the isalnd and as such it s a good place to stay.Bad Points: Can get very crowded around the pool during full moon parties. Although on the beach the sand is very coarse so no one really uses it. Towels and bed linen are not changed every day. A little bit of refurbishment going on so there may be a bit of noise. When it s busy though it s the people who are more noisy! The spa is really basic so don t go expecting anything fancy.Good points: Perfectly adquate rooms with a balcony you can sit on. Internet access. Really friendly staff. Handy location, near main area. Much better than the bunglows as all rooms have air con. Great setting with great views."
Mike stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2006-03-17 and said, "The bungalows are large but basic wth a large refridgerator. Their pickup service from the ferry pier was far better than high end resorts. Swiiming Pool was great although the temperature was more like bath water. Our only real complaint was that resort staff congregated and played a radio next to our bungalow at night keeping us awake."
Collette stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2006-02-14 and said, "Pleasant place to stay. Room was huge if not a little short on ceiling height in some places. Beachfront pool was amazing as long as you were there early enough to reserve a seat. Staff were friendly for the most part. Only 2 criticisms: 1. Restaurant food was sooooo slow (approx 50 mins for a green veg curry). It s Thailand for goodness sake!!!2. Water pressure in the shower was almost non existent.I would stay again but not during Full Moon Party - too expensive for the quality of accommodation."
Beverley stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2006-01-23 and said, "This is our 1st visit to this accommodation + we weren’t disappointed. The Phanganburi Resort is a great hotel in a fantastic location, definitely the best hotel to stay in near Haad Rin. It is located on the quieter sunset beach {Haad Rin Nai}with two pools, but only 5-10 mins walk away from all the action - all the fun, none of the noise. Breakfast was poor, some mornings it was self service, which was OK; other times it was table service, which was frustratingly slow. The staff were friendly, spoke good English, + very helpful. The rooms are basic + clean, they have all you need -mini bar, air conditioning, hot water, + TV. Would stay there again, but cannot recommend the restaurant. Free pick up + drop off at Haad Rin pier was great - just ring them the night before to arrange. GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY!!!"
Christian stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2006-01-03 and said, "The hotel is in good shape. But you can t say the hotel is a spa hotel .cause the spa in the hotel area was so closed. Yes, you could have some massage but you can have massage in every hotel. And the staff in the restaurant was very lazy. But anyway the hotel is one of the better choice in this area."
Louise stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2005-12-31 and said, "Definately the best hotel to stay in near Haad Rin beach where the Full Moon Party is. It is very new with a pool and 5 mins away from all the action but far enough away not to hear all the noise. The staff were awful on reception as well as in the resturant. We waited 45 mins for our food to arrive and that was only because we asked where it was. Would stay there again but just would not use the resturant"
Véronique stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2005-12-30 and said, "nice hotel room but the bathroom is too small and we didn t have hot water, the personnel of the reception is very competent but the personnel at the restaurant is realy slow and many time they forget you, incredibale in thailande, 2 nice swiming pools. too expensive for the prestation they give...also very expensive new year meel for a poor buffet with not enought food for 50 euros and nothing to drink"
Robert stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2005-12-19 and said, "Lovely resort! All staff was friendly & accommodating to our needs. Far enough from town for peace & quiet - yet just a short walk in to town. The spa is wonderful!"
Gradin stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2005-08-10 and said, "Facilities and rooms are very nice, cleaning was however not to our satisfaction. Some days there were no cleaning at all. The restaurant was also a disapointment. Very long wait for meals and bad serivce, up to 40 minutes wait for a simple breakfast even though the restaurant was nearly empty."
G. stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2005-06-30 and said, "The hotel was still under construction, as we had read from earlier reviews. They were supposed to have their grand new opening in june - but they had quite a lot left to do when we departed. I have a feeling this place will be a bit too crowded once the hotel-part is finished. Even if they re constructing another pool there won t be room for everybody to lay around the hotel, as there is no beach to lay on outside the hotel - way too much litter there! We stayed in the biggest bungalow on the resort, and this was quite expensive -over THB 4000 a night! The bungalow was really nice, but had a few flaws. For instance there were no bottle opener in the minibar, but only bottles of beer. There were no safety deposit box. It seemed like they hadn t thought things through before they put thisngs in the room. (or didn t put in) There were no hotel-information what so ever in the room. When I asked them about this, they looked at me as if i d gone crazy. The cleaning staff didn t do a really good job. It shouldn t have to be neccesary to run after them every day asking for more toiletpaper because we had run out! during the 7 nights we stayed there, they only refilled the minibar twice, and this wasn t because we didn t use it. And they had never heard about the use of water when cleaning the bathroom. The broom is excellent for cleaning......:-( I guess we wouldn t have been so disappointed about the place, hadn t it been for the staff aroud the pool-restaurant. But on the first night we were there they had set the standard. They we re quite lazy (so different from what the Thai s usually are like), and one of them in particular was so bad we did everything we could to avoid having him as our waitor! He couldn t get anything right when we ordered a meal, and this didn t only happen to us. And he was more interrested in playing pool with the guests than doing his job. Fortunately the orders were taken from other people in the staff as the week went by, and we got used to the Phanganburi culture. And by the time we left we had grown quite fond of a couple of them. They were qiute sweet. I guess part of their trouble comes from the fact that they are really close to Haad Rin. This makes most of the guests really young, around their twenties, and they enjoyed the laidback culture of this hotel. For us paying over THB 4000 per night we didn t get out moneys worth. To sum up the whole thing: Panganburi resort looks fairly nice on the outside, but the service doesn t live up to it. The only people I would recomend this hotel to are the ones that wants to go to Haad Rin to party, but who would like to sleep comfortably and in a quiet area. The hotel is OK to stay in for a couple of nights, but not a week. We regretted it so many times during our stay, that we had booked this hotel for as many nights as 7. It has to be said that the weather was quite rough while we stayed here, so we didn t go around the island much. But then it is so much more important that the hotel is good..."
Helen stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2005-03-07 and said, "We stayed in one of the newer (delux air con) cottages with a sea view - simple but very clean and well presented. The resort is currently being expanded and alot of work is going on - but you d never know from the pool or the cottages. The pool is amazing - right on the beach and beautifully designed. Resturant food great. Easy stroll along beach into Haad Rin - but sea comes right up to resort at high tide. I would thoroughly recommend the resort"
Mr.Andrew stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2004-10-06 and said, "the resort had been doing construction work right next door, the place was fantastic otherwise with walking distance down the beech the the main market, service was great excipt we did not have our sheets or towls changed for the week that we stayed witch was a little strange for the money, but it is thailand and i loved every second i was there"
Karen stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2004-09-07 and said, "Really nice Resort. There was alot of building work going on in the resort, but it didnt affect the holiday in any way. Fantastic pool, the bungalows are really nice and the food is excellent. The beach unfortunatly isin t great, but with the pool we didn t mind. Great location - a stroll away from the town, its certainly one of the best places on the island and about the only one with a pool"
alessandro stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2004-08-24 and said, "i take 1 bungalow 10 meter from the sea, very simple but nice.why no have tv ,im sorry for this.the beach is not good,no have beach....sufficient but expensive"
Asianaticxhks/Daisy stayed at Phanganburi Resort & Spa on 2004-08-23 and said, "the employees there were so incredibly nice and polite!! the food at their beautiful open-air restaurant was great too. i didn t get a chance to use the pool but i know it was always clean. the bungalow itself was wonderful, except for the amount of bugs that would make its way in. the AC machine blew right down onto the bed (so if you re trying to cool down, great but when you re trying to go to sleep, not so great). the beach it was right on, was so beautiful. the only hard part was walking to the haadrin pier from there, as you had to walk over this huge rock formation (and if you didn t want to do that, you d either have to walk 10 min into the island and cut across, or hike up the steep path to avoid the rocks). most of the time i just tried to not stay out too late so i wouldn t have to risk going over the rocks in the dark. there was construction when i was there so it made things a little messier, but i m sure it ll be done soon. overall, i really did enjoy my stay!!"
