DAWN stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2008-01-04 and said, "This is my second visit and although I enjoyed it, I do feel that the service and the general buzz there has gone really down hill. The food is awful so don t eat there and the rooms are now looking really jaded and could do with a spruce up. The price is good for what you get 500 baht a night peak season and Ban Tai is lovely and quiet and the beach is pratically deserted. If you want more life you can jump in cab 10 mins one way to Hat Rin or 10 mins the other to Thongsala. All in all I would recommend to someone who is not fussy."
Elles stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2007-12-30 and said, "the bungalows were a bit expensive for what you got. our shower suppost to be hot but there was hardly any wather comming from it. our zink was broken and the owners of the resort were not friendly at all. they did not speak englisch, I think they understood us but they didn t speak to us at all."
michelle.a.barry stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2007-11-22 and said, "Was located half way between the pier and Had Rin beach. Lovely, clean and cheap accomadation. Staff friendly and taxi service frequent."
PI stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2007-07-27 and said, "Set in a tranqil palm fringed beachside location, the simple rooms and ever present staff were in perfect harmony. Don t change a thing!"
HSU-YU-HSIUNG stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2007-05-13 and said, "NO RECOMMENDED,ITS FALILITIES IS SO SIMPLE,EVEN NO GARBAGE CAN IN THE ROOM,AND NOT SO CLEAN ,BESIDES FAR AWAY FROM HAD RIN ,SO IT IS INCONVEIENCE.AND AROUND THE BUNGALOW,THERE IS NO STREETLIGHT,VERY DARK.THE ONLY ADVABTAGE IS VEY QUIET."
Lorraine stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2007-04-07 and said, "The rooms were small and in the showere was just in the bathroom pratically over the toilet. There was no hanging space at all for clothes and very little other space. In the restaurant, the food was ok but there were 2 dogs, 3 puppies covered in flies and ticks that lived in the restuarant/ reception area. A cat wandered around on top of the counter. The staff were initially reasonalbly friendly but when we ate elsewhere due to the numerous animals , seemed that they couldn t be bothered. We checked out 2 days early and lost some of the deposit but preferred to do that than stay. Reasonably priced and if you just want somewhere for a night it is ok but not to be recommended for an extended stay."
Leslie stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2007-04-02 and said, "The resort was quite nice :) It was at a short walking distance from the main road, which came in handy when going around the island. Food was okay and the bungalows were clean. The staff was always smiling and were very helpful. The beach wasn t so nice but is still good for swimming in, and the resort offered a great view of the sunset which I really liked."
Shahrizal stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2007-03-31 and said, "My Phangan was a real delight to stay in. Quiet and calm beach. Total contrast compared to Haad Rin Beach. My perfect retreat from my busy life in the city. The water level is very low. You can walk 200m down and its still within knee level. The staff was very friendly. I think they are a family cause they are so close. There s only 4 of them working. Their food is decent and affordable. I miss their egg sandwich! The room I got was decent. The superior deluxe(for 3 people). Totally no complaints on the room. Absolutely well maintained. BUT THERE S ONE BAD EXPERIENCE I WANT TO SHARE. During my stay, I rent a motorbike. The resort usually hook you up with a dealer so it wont be a hassle for us to find one. So Yusuf(REMEMBER THIS NAME!), the dealer, brought the bike to our resort. 250 Baht instead of the normal rate of 200 Baht. A new bike he says. I said ok, the bike looks good anyway. The next day, upon returning, Yusuf did a VERY THOROUGH CHECK on the whole bike! And he found some MINOR SCRATCHES UNDERNEATH THE MUDGUARD. For that I had to pay 4500 Baht(US$140) for that piece of cheap plastic! We argued for a while but later he threatened to bring this matter to the police. So, not wanting to face this trouble, I paid him 4500 Baht. MORAL OF THE STOREY IS, STAY AWAY FROM ANY BIKE DEALER BY THE NAME YUSUF!"
angela stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2006-12-05 and said, "My Phangan Resort is a lovely, tranquil place, free from crowds and raucousness. The location - half way between Thong Sala and Had Rin - is a perfect inbetween, and the sunset view of the ocean is gorgeous. Poonsin is incredibly friendly and helped organise a range of activities, including snorkelling on Koh Tao. The rooms decor is humble, to say the least, but perfectly clean and functional. In short, a place I would heartily recommend to those looking to get off the beaten track without paying a fortune for luxuries they don t need."
Parul stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2006-11-04 and said, "My Phagnan is a nice wonderful place to stay in. The room was upto its expectations, the staff was very helpful and friendly. the food also was very good, we had a very pleasent stay...would definately go back to this Resort"
Chris stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2006-07-22 and said, "Quiet resort, off the beaten track - you ll need either a car/bike or torch to negotiate your way back at night. The room was small, bed covers dated and ill fitting. Bed was confy though and air con/fan a must. Bathroom roof didn t quite meet the wall, and a couple of cockroaches joined us. We were going to move, but stayed and blocked all holes wiith paper and bought spray at a nearby chemist. The resort is on a deserted beach - no good for swimming at this time of year, but you can walk out 50metres and still be in clear ankle-depth water. The host is lovely, speaks good english. Chef is very good - food here is cheap. We were the only guests staying at the time (double check full moon part times - the site we used had the dates wrong). Phag Nan is definatly worth a visit. We re planning to go back for a month next year, but we ll hire a house instead."
Steve stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2006-04-11 and said, "This is a very quiet resort, but the beach bungalow was very nice & comfortable with hot & cold water, flushing toilet & AC. The hammock on the balcony was lovely & we used it to relax with a drink in the evening. When we were there it was very quiet with nothing much to do except relax. Although the manager was helpful, whenever we got up for breakfast at 8.30 am there seemed a timelag before we got served - think they only got up when someone needed serving!. We did have an evening meal which was nice even though we were the only ones eating. Although the huts were quite remote by the beach, nice & sandy, desolate and the sea was too shallow for swimming in, we found it no problem walking 10 minutes to the main road where we were always able to catch a songthaw . We especially liked Haad Rin Sunrise Beach. So long as you keep the hut clean there should be no problem as it was not cleaned or towels changed whilst we were there for 3 nights, also cupboard space is limited (none)could be a problem if you dont want to live out of a suitcase. No noticeable bar in restaurant but beer & water could be purchased from adjacent fridge."
Darragh stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2006-02-11 and said, "If you are looking for a relaxed bungalow on the beach with your own hammock - then this is for you ! Staff were great however the resort is a bit rustic !"
Steven stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2005-12-15 and said, "Nice garden and bungalows. not much furniture. Staff was extremely nice, and cooks good food. The beach is shallow, but long. We really enjoyed our stay. I would recommend it. To get to Mae Head, the road is pretty trecherous, but we still made the trip just about every day. A++ friendly staff made the experience. My girl friend had headache, and the manager called his friend to bring us aspirin, and then did not charge us."
Brett stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2005-10-14 and said, "To any one who wants the peace & quiet & relaxed atmosphere, with extremely good hosts, this is the place to be.Only 15mins each way to either Haad Rin or Thongsala,My Phangan Resort is the perfect place to have the the best of both worlds.Polsin & his staff excel in catering to your every need,& also make time to maintain an atmosphere to suit any travellers needs.Should you ever go to Koh Phangan,I highly recommend this Resort to any one,no matter of price or service,as it is well serviced to cater for all.I look forward to planning my next stay with them next year!!Well done guys!!LONG LIVE YADONG !!!"
Chris stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2005-07-13 and said, "Owners were very friendly and accomodating. Rooms were clean and of good quality. A little far from Haad Rin but perfect for those wanting a quiet relaxing place to stay."
Inderbitzi stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2005-05-11 and said, "The bungalows are nice and clean. It looks like the pictures show on the Website. The garden is well kept but unfortunately the Beach is not always clean. There are bottles and other stuff laying around. When it s low tide you can t swim at this beach. And while we stayed it was always low tide on day time. The staff were very helpful and courteous. The food in the restaurant was very tasty."
John stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2005-04-30 and said, "I had a very pleasant and relaxed stay here. The accomadation was great, clean with good air con. It was a bungalow on the beach, with a double and single bed. Also had a DVD player and a well stocked fridge. The staff were good, very helpfull and the food was good. I stayed a couple of extra days with no hassle. The beach is beautifull but not very good for swimming as its so shallow for a long way. Here the locals dig for crabs and shell fish, (kids will love that). Its not a party place, but there are a couple of bars and some restuarts around. I had a great local barbeque at one. So if you want a relaxed, chilled time I recommend this place."
Esther stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2005-03-08 and said, "A really lovely resort, definately worth a visit. Baan Tai is a nice quiet little village out of the hustle and bustle of Haad Rin. Family run resort with fantastic food, rooms comfortable with fridge and dvd player. A really relaxing and enjoyable stay."
Sarah stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2005-02-28 and said, "very nice and clean. it is in a remote part of the island, but they have their own restaurant which serves lovely and cheap food all day. the rooms are in a semi circle all diagonal to the beach and the view is beautiful, in the day time there is hardly anyone on the beach which is also really nice."
jeremy stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2005-02-22 and said, "had a really nice relaxed atmosphere, close to both thong sala and hat rin but far enough away to enjoy peace and quiet. friendly welcoming staff.well kept bunglows and good restraurant/bar."
Gareth stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2005-02-18 and said, "Beautiful quiet getaway. Sin and the staff were always friendly and helpful, and the food was always good. Would highly reccomend a stay here. Close proximity by taxi to Haad Rin for the full moon too. 10 out of 10."
Dyfed stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2005-01-12 and said, "Standard fan bungalow. Small modern family run complex. No room servicing once you’re there (if that matters to anybody!). Beautiful idyllically quiet spot on a lovely beach. A few nice beach restaurants within walking distance. Great place for a complete chill out."
Julie stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2005-01-03 and said, "Lovely resort, just as the pictures show it. Friendly staff. Quiet resort which may feel a bit isolated to some. Ideal for couples/families."
DAWN stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2005-01-01 and said, "Well this place is fantastic! The staff are really helpful and the bungalows are gorgeous. Really chilled atmosphere and they serve the best poached eggs and bacon for brekkie. I suggest if you go to Koh Phangan you stay here... Get out of Had Rin. It s awful!!MY PHANGAN MADE MINE AND MY FRIENDS HOLIDAY!!!! :)"
Adrian stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2004-12-10 and said, "The bungalows were basic, but comfortable with air-conditioning and a good enough separate bathroom. The staff were very friendly and the on-premises food was excellent, with even the Western food being cooked to western tastes. However the beach was disappointing, with the water being dirty and a bit slimy."
Jona stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2004-09-27 and said, "My Phangan is a family owned resort and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was very peaceful and I had the best time there. The rooms were just a few feet away from the shore and the food at the restaurant was pretty good. I would definitely stay there again."
N.S stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2004-08-30 and said, "Very comfortable bungalows set in an idyllic beach setting with native flowers & palm trees around. Nice and quiet part of the island away from all the noise. Just like the photos!"
Ninni stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2004-08-28 and said, "It was my second time at My Phangan Resort . I like it first time so I went back. It s cheep, clean and with a seaview. The personal are very friendy. I was suprised that they remember us from our first visit."
Barbara stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2004-05-02 and said, "Absolutley fantastic place to stay! Very clean and the service was great. Loved the scenery. The swimming was not so great as the ocean floor was very swampy. Would recommend it to anyone."
Niamh stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2004-02-22 and said, "My Phangan was one of the best resorts we stayed in. Only 15 mins taxi from Haad Rin yet so peaceful. Great location right on the beach, lovely chilled out atmosphere. The staff were lovely also. Would definitely stay there again."
Patrick stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2003-12-29 and said, "We left everything to the last minute and had to settle for what we could get. In this case it worked magnificently, the resort was perfectly located some distance from the Hat Rin, which suited us perfectly as it is very busy and noisy. Cabs were only to happy to pick us up and cost Barht 50 each for the 5 min journey. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and we soon established an excellent rappor. The food was 1st class whether Thai or European and excellent value for money. In fact we ate most of our meals at the resort. The beech was clean and not too busy. All in all we thoroughly recommend My Phangan Resort and will be making a return visit next year without a doubt.10/10 Thanks Kun Ponsin :0)"
Margaret stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2003-12-28 and said, "This was the best place of all of the places we stayed. The cabin/hut was clean and accomodating. The little restaurant had excellent, reasonably-priced food and a friendly, gentle staff. The beach was gorgeous and there were other bars, restaurants close by along the beach. We spent 5 days here and would liked to have spent 20 more. Only drawback was that there was no room cleaning once we arrived - no new towels or cleaning."
Andreas stayed at My Phangan Resort on 2003-12-19 and said, "very nice resort with a nice calm beach. the bungalow was in a good condition. the staff was extremly friendly and helpful."
