Glenda stayed at Mai Pen Rai Bungalows on 2008-04-22 and said, "From Bangkok we had to traveled all day on a plane,bus,ferry,4x4 to reach the other side of Koh Phangan at Than Sade Beach, it was well worth every minute. It was an adventure. If your looking for a place away for the busy citys, and people this is the place. There are 4 Restaurant right there in the small cove. Food was wonderful. All of the employees were great, helpful and fun. The only negative would be the sand on the beach was a litte course for my feet which hardly every see the light of day so take some beach shoe and you will have a great time."
Yazmin stayed at Mai Pen Rai Bungalows on 2008-03-11 and said, "We loved it. The perfect place to go and totally chill. The secluded beach was clean & the water was clear. The rooms were basic and simple with character. The food was good and very cheap. The place has such character and the staff were fantastic. It feels like a little community. We were free to relax in our own way. The electricity was hit or miss and there was no hot water but who needs hot water when it 37 degrees? This place is literally 40 mins in 4x4 to nearest town. You need to take everything you need with you because there s nothing there....at all!We have been to many places all over the world. We think this place is our favourite. We shall certainly be returning to Mai Pen Rai."
Tom stayed at Mai Pen Rai Bungalows on 2008-03-06 and said, "Our stay at Than Sadet Mai Pen Rai Bungalows fullfilled more than we ever dreamt about. Spectacular nature wild location on this former pirat island where you almost can sence the spirit of history since goods greation. Wawes hammering on the rocks and sandy beach with a true King Kong jungle in the back makes this spot on earth beyond believe. Perfect creative hippieinspired and cheep bungalows build as a tribute to the sorrounding nature. Great restaurants with relaxed atmosphere and excellent cheep food makes it even better. Mai Pen Rai supports ideas of life and living with business as a necessity - but not the primary option for its excistence. May this dream last forever. Tom, Majbrit, Amanda and Caroline. Thailand"
heike stayed at Mai Pen Rai Bungalows on 2008-02-19 and said, "A quite spectacular and amazing place to go! We had a bungalow on the rocks (cheap!) , which really was an experience (especially the bathroom..)! Fantastic view! The beach is also very nice with (sometimes) strong waves! Fun to swim! The restaurant was ok but we preferred the one on the top with that fantastic view!! A very relaxing atmosphere everywhere ( but nothing for people who need luxus..)"

Anthony stayed at Mai Pen Rai Bungalows on 2008-02-02 and said, "Mai Pen Rai is located on Haad Sadet on the east coast of Koh Phangan. The road is long and rough to get there, but once there the bungalows and the beach are amazing. The waves were very strong and very fun when I was there. The bay is beautiful, as is situated perfectly to catch an idyllic sunrise. We stayed on a bungalow on the rocks, and it was amazing. The natural breeze we got cooled us at night, and the sounds of the waves crashing on the rocks below were awesome. The view from our bungalow was great and relaxing, and the other bungalows looked great as well. There are 3 restaurants on the beach, but we only tried the one at Mai Pen Rai. The food was good. Not the best, but certainly not bad. The lassis are amazing!Mai Pen Rai is also located near the Than Sadet (or Sadej) waterfall, which is a really nice hike and waterfall which has several natural pools for a fresh water dip.If you stay here, plan to stay put, as there is only one daily taxi provided by the resort at 10:00AM, and hiring any other ride (to or from) will cost you 800 baht or more."
Leah stayed at Mai Pen Rai Bungalows on 2007-09-24 and said, "I really enjoyed my stay at Mai Pen Rai Bungalows. It was the most relaxing place I had ever been to, exactly what I needed :) The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble (hence the no problem ). The food is fantastic and so are the cocktails! The huts were just like they were pictured on the net, and also what I expected. We didn t have hot water, no problem, who needs hot water on a hot day! The views from the bungalows are amazing and the balcony hammocks are just the thing for an afternoon nap, that’s of course if you wake up from the lunch time siesta on the mats in the restaurant. We met some great people from all over the world during our stay, everyone who stays there seems to have the same desire to just chill out. We went via the long boat to the full moon party, which just added to the adventure! We partied hard and drank way too many buckets (my German friend did warn me to pace myself…ha I am an Aussie I know how to drinknot…should have listened to you yoyo). The guys on the boat made sure that everyone that went there got home safely to the bungalows (thanks to whoever got me out of the hammock and pointed me in the direction of my bungalow). If you are after a ritzy five star resort, then go to one. If you are after some chill out time with a friendly, no problem attitude then this is the place to stay!"

Priya stayed at Mai Pen Rai Bungalows on 2006-12-04 and said, "We felt that Mai Pen Rai misrepresented itself online. It says that it is a short taxi ride away from the Full Moon Party, which it is defintely NOT! More like a forty minute haul and expensive to get there. Once you are there, there is nowhere to go, so be prepared to stay put. Also they should let you know about the 1pm taxi service from the pier so that you don t spend tons of money trying to get out there on your own."
