JOSEPH stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2008-06-15 and said, "Comfortable but not large bungalows. Great if you want to be away from the busier parts of the island as I did. The staff are fantastic, the beach is beautiful and quiet. Just be wary of how much taxis may cost during Full Moon parties! Also, if you re a pasty Westyerner like me be wary of the mossies! Otherwise, definately worth the little bit extra, and make sure you have a look at the local bars."
Uwe stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2008-04-26 and said, "Great stay, nice staff, great restaurant, beautiful beach, good people in the bay, we have a very good bungalow 2 meters from the beach (SEAHUT). We will come back in the next years.Family from Cologne, Germany"
Helen stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2008-01-21 and said, "Stayed for 4 night over the full moon period. We stayed in bungalow 26 closest to the beach. It was fantastic. The bungalow itself was very clean and had air conditioning and was in a traditional wooden style, surrounded by lush gardens. It was in my opinion the best type of this kind I saw when travelling as some bungalows are all concrete and tin roofs. The beach was beautiful and the surrounding village and bars perfect to expore and eat in."
Chantal stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2007-12-15 and said, "We stayed in this resort 3 years ago and it was fantastic. This trip we booked for 12 days.We could not stay the entire time as they were in the process of bulding new villas. The noise factor was too much. It starting at 8am in the morning to 10pm at night and the hut we were in was right next door too the frantic building.I feel that Sawadee booking service should have had a comment on there website, that there was construction so we could have made an informed choice weather to go there or not. However the staff and management of this resort are fantastic as well as the food. The huts I believe could be upgraded. The beach is fantastic and the new sun loungers and umbellas are a treat. I think it will be great when the new villas are ready and I will certainly stay there again."
Guinane stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2007-03-07 and said, "We booked the new island beach bungalow. the bungalow was located about 3 metres from the beach.Aircon and hot water.they were small and dark. We asked about contruction work onsite they advised no work in progress. We then found that there was contruction work in progress. Not alot noise from the contruction work.Had a bad experience with local thai men drinking alcohol in the afternoon and smashing bottles and been violent with each other.Found a Russian lady annoying as she was working as a tout and continully asking us to go on snorkling trips.Overall the resort is located at the best beach in Koh Phangan, very quite, nice gardens, restuarant had nice food, Just be careful with the seafood tho.The road from the port to the resort is about 15km and most of it is dirt road. Very dangerous on a scooter so we hired a 4x4 car for 3 days while there.advise to hire trail bike or 4x4 car due to the bad road. resort does have a taxi that runs into port town twice a day.100bt per person into town. Back to resort from town can be up to 800bt with normal taxi. best to get many people into a taxi to reduce the cost.Work was in progress on this dangerous dirt road so hopefully it will be concreted in the near future. If you are looking for a nice quite location away from the hussle and bustle we would recommend it."
Julie stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2007-02-19 and said, "We loved the place!!It is paradise!Very friendly staff who work hard.Food was great with other options close buy.No room service you need to ask for things but was not a problem.Loved the food and had a nice cooking class.I would stay again.Beach was amazing!!"
sarah stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2007-01-20 and said, "wonderful location. OUr first burri was disgusting, dark, moldy, and too small for 2 people. WE were fortunately moved to a newer location also on the beach, called beach house. It had a rat and no water pressure. The beach is the best and the rest. is great, also the staff were friendly and helpful."
Michael stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2006-12-15 and said, "If you want to experience remote beach side living with the friendliest and most helpful staff then this is for you.Yes its rustic with a capital R and even though the place was under total reconstruction when we arrive (and will not be completed for a least 6 months)we loved it.On arrival our beach side bungalow was not available so we were upgrade to beach side house for 6 of our 10 day stay.I got to speak to The Boss who arrived from the mainland and informed him of our concern re building work ,he apologised and offered discounting off our next visit(and we will be returning) and sent a gift of wine for continued good relations,so your there its happening you enjoy or fume...we had ourselves a ball and entered into the festive spiritof xmas. The setting of the resort is right on the beach with the sound of the sea to sooth you to sleep at night and to excite you on awakening. The jungle encrouches all around and makes for that desert island feel. There is a wonderful atmosphere in the resort itself and the surrounding village. This place is not for everyone but where is?The pace of live is infectious here calm relaxing and friendly also very safe.We loved it and again extend our thanks to all the wondreful staff Cho Cucumber(Jani) Jipp Koy and Ole .We also made close friendship with our Thai massueses Not and Neung who created a beautiful xmas dinner for us and who taught my wife to drink The Bucket Thai style they were Sanung!!"
Pedro stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2006-11-16 and said, "So there you are, and be prepared to what you ve booked for. A very rustic, small, dark, humid, hot beachfront bure. No towels or bed sheet changes, you do the floor cleaning by yourself; if you are used to camp, this is a very comfortable room. I dont know why they named it a Resort. At moment it is under reform, a ugly scenery in the backyard. But no hard feellings, I guess we were not prepared to that. About the restaurant the comments are right - its just great and inexpensive food. The beach is fantastic!"
Mr stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2006-11-01 and said, "Resort is currently under refurbishment so a lot looks like a tropical storm has recently passed through and many facilities are not available. Huts very basic and not cleaned, one redeeming feature was the restaurant where staff were courteous and food great tasting and good value for money. I was also charged at a higher rate than I was originally quoted on my departure and would ve expected some sort of discount considering the state of the resort. I wouldn t consider coming back and reckon after seeing the rate of progress the builders were making it would take at least a couple years for them to complete the redevelopment. Beach however is beautiful and a great retreat from the bustle of city life."
Charlotte stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2006-08-26 and said, "Fantastic!! Myself and 3 girlfriends stayed there for 4 days as part of a 2 week holiday in Thailand. Baan Panburi was by far the best accomadation we stayed in. Great value for money, a beautiful beach, 2 bars in the local village and fun and friendly staff. I would recommend it for anyone, families, couples and mates wanting to chill out. The huts were clean and tidy and the hotel food was very tasty! Get booking :)"
Paal stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2006-08-20 and said, "We had a beachfront Bure which opened straight to the beach. Very nice! The Bure itself was far from good. Cramped room with only wooden pans which added to the somewhat claustrophobic feel of the place. The fact that the fan were to slow and the the net over the bed had dense clothing on the top (never seen that anywhere before)meant that insanely hot nights and mornings became an issue. Quite honestly, I do not see why everyone (incl.Lonely Planet) makes such a fuzz about this place. Its mediocre at its best and too expensive for what it offers."
Marcus stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2006-08-04 and said, "Baan Panburi is the best place to stay in Thong Nay Pan! The bangulows are cleen and comfortable. We had a beachfront hut with aircon. The rooms were cleaned everyday. The beach is nice, clean and good for swimming. The restaurant was the best at the beach. A lot of people came from other resorts to eat there. If we will go back to Thong Nay Pan we will choose the Baan Panburi."
Lucy stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2006-08-04 and said, "WE LOVED THIS PLACE!! We stayed in the Beach House with our toddler and it was wonderful. The guys who picked us up in a torrential storm from the boat v kindly let me sit with our two year old in the front seat of the pick up truck (was bit worried she would slide out of the back...). By the time we got to Thong Nai Pan Noi, the sun was out and everything looked rosy! We were checked in and led through the pretty gardens to a big wooden gate. We entered through the gate to the grounds of the beach house. The pictures don t show you this but it is in quite a large plot of land with a waist height bamboo fence between the garden and the beach. In the garden there is a sala to relax in and also an outside shower which was blissful. The beach house itself was simply but beautifully decorated and was cleaned as far as i remember every day. We had a lovely time and would love to go back. The beach is beautiful - soft white sand and the sea great for swimiming in - idyllic. Lots of children were staying there as well - so plenty of children for our daughter to play with. The food as well was fantastic!!"
Family stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2006-06-23 and said, "Great location, superb beach also for kids (our 3-yr old loved it). We stayed 6 nights in a a/c beachfront hut (# 41 with the biggest seafront verandah, 5 steps from the beach). Rooms are quite small, dark, no space to unpack your clothes and matrasse is very hard and killing after a few nights. Bathroom is open, basic but convenient enough. Don t forget to buy Baygon and spray before nighttime otherwise you might have some cockroaches in the bathroom. The restaurant serves excellent food for reasonable prices, and has a beautiful seaview. Be aware of the parties with no time limit. We choose this beach because we thought we d be far away from the fullmoon party beach, but unfortunately they have also half moon and shiva moon parties on this beach. If you re not a party animal the music is very disturbing and loud. Overall: price for the room is quite expensive and not even breakfast is included, but the location is great."
Abby stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2006-06-01 and said, "Fantastic place to stay - very peaceful (we were there early June). We stayed in one of the beach-front bures which opened onto the beautiful beach. There was no aircon, only a fan which made the nights hot and sticky. Food in teh restuarnat (breakfats, lunch or supper!) was fabulous - would definitely recommend Baan Panburi."
Elizabeth stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2006-05-26 and said, "My boyfriend and I ventured to the Baan Panburi on our Thailand vacation, and literally walked into paradise. It s a beautiful resort with a great staff, restaurant and beach. I would definitely go back. The beachfront bures are great. The only drawback to the resort is the lack of activities. Be prepared to read a book."
Esperanza stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2006-05-21 and said, "The resort was beautiful. The staff were very courteous, friendly, attentive and accomodating. I had a New Island Hut that was only a couple of steps from the beach. There is a pathway from the main building to the huts and to the beach. The huts looks gorgeous outside. Inside however, it s pretty dark, since there s only one window and it doesn t have a glass pane (The bigget huts windows have glass panes, I think). When you open it, though it lets in light and the ocean breeze, it also lets in insects since there s no screen. They provide a mosquito net, which you hook to the wall above your bed. Use it. If not, apply mosquito repellant on your body generously. The biggest let down was the bathroom. It has a western style toilet, but it doesn t have a flushing mechanism so you flush by pouring a bucket of water (bucket provided) down the bowl. The walls and the tiles looks as if they haven t been scrubbed for weeks."
Darrell stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2006-04-28 and said, "This was my 2nd visit - Baan Panburi hadn t changed at all. We had a standard hut and the only complaint (like last time) was that the bed was VERY hard and the fan wasn t that great! But the beach and restaurant were as wonderful as ever. And Thong Nai Pan has several new shops, bars and restaurants than 4 years ago. I hope it doesn t become too commercialised over the coming years as that would spoil the wonderful, laid back atmosphere."
Sebastian stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2006-04-26 and said, "It is a great place with one of the best beaches you can dream of. If you want action and party go somewhere else. We had a Beachfront bungalow with A/C which was really cool, food is excellent, try especially the Spring rolls!"
simon stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2006-04-11 and said, "excellent bungalows directly on the beach, basic but clean and tidy, good restaurant and friendly staff. If your looking for heaven look no further you will have found it."
Al stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2006-02-05 and said, "we spent 5 days here for part of our honeymoon. we booked a bungalow on the beach, was worth every cent. great service, very clean and beautiful grounds. great beach. only downside is terrible road to access the resort from the port."
Ernestas stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2006-02-04 and said, "Great clean beach, lovely and helpful staff and excellent inexpensive food. Friends told us that this resort will be good, but not as good as we found out for ourselves. Highly recommended if you want some peaceful lazy time. If Ko Phangan will be included on our next Thai trip, Baan Panburi will also appear on the list.Ernestas Janusas, Lithuania"
Mr.Matthew stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2006-01-06 and said, "Baan Panburi is a really lovely place, great location, very friendly staff and good food, highly recommended"
Mark stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2005-12-24 and said, "Excellent! Great staff, location and facilities. for the price you could not get a better deal, would recommend to anyone."
Beth stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2005-11-01 and said, "On arrival we were told there was a double booking mistake so our beachfront bungalow not available. We were offerred a free night, but after being shown an uncleaned bungalow and then another, we realised they are very basic for the price, and not well maintained, so we decided not to stay and went elsewhere. Cool if you re backpacking and prepared to stay somewhere very basic, but we weren t in the mood by then. The restaurant looked good in the evening although we didn t try it. Great location and we still enjoyed our holiday in wonderful Thailand."
Robert stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2005-10-11 and said, "Fantastic Tropical Rustic Value. The Baan Panburi is wonderful for the money. The accommodations are tiny, thatched-roofed huts that add to the charm of the place. Staff is very nice. All the huts are within a stone s throw of the incredibly beautiful beach. There are a few bars, mostly laid-back, in the village, as well as the other hotels. All the food around is great. This place is absolutely perfect for young couples who don t want the craziness of Chaweng or Haad Rin, but still want some social scene. It s also great for singles travelling in groups as there are many of them, but not that great for solo travellers. Most of the huts in Baan Panburi have fans and no hot water. Also, they don t clean your room and you have to request more towels, toilet paper, etc. Decks are nice, but there are no chairs so buying a hammock is highly recommended. People say that the next-door Star Huts is a slightly better value. Other resorts on Thong Nai Pan Noi besides the expensive Panviman are not in as great a location and have very ugly backsides. Though Thong Nai Pan Noi is gorgeous, getting there by the road is more like an off-roading adventure. I recommend splurging on a water taxi and staying away from the road as much as possible, especially during the rainy season."
Louise stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2005-10-07 and said, "Panburi Resort is stunning. The huts are gorgeous and have a fabulous location on the nicest section of the beach. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is great. Only negative comment is the noise level from neighbours chatting late at night on their verandas but I guess that s to be expected in this type of accomodation. We had a gorgeous hut right on the beach front where we stayed for two nights. Woudl have liked a room with air con but the prices jump up massively for this facility, so we decided to move to Star Huts next door for our remaining four nights which were also great - we got a lovely room with air con for 200B less per night! Would recommend both places."
Allyson stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2005-09-14 and said, "The hotel is on a great beach. Great for relaxation. Staff are very friendly and helpful.Food is good and there is some variety, although a bit expensive for those on a tight budget.Rooms are smaller than they look on the website, but not cramped. Bathrooms could have been cleaner. There was a lot of debris in ours when we arrived. But I think I d definitely come here again. Place looked the nicest out of the other options in the bay. And the bay is so beautiful, definitely worth spending some time here."
Donatas stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2005-08-09 and said, "Stayed there two years ago, decided to come back this time again. Still good. Definitely recommended."
Yorick stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2005-08-04 and said, "perfect as ever!!! friendly staff, great food, nice bungalows, beautiful beach, ... we will be back somedays"
James stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2005-08-03 and said, "It was my second visit to Baan Panburi and I was equally impressed this year as I was in the past! The resteraunt is still one of the best in Thailand...( I d recommend the BBQ to EVERYONE!)and the staff are friendly and genuinely seem to enjoy their work, Which makes a visit very enjoyable! The beach tong nai pan noi is beautifull, It s a very relaxed place and this is reflected in Baan Panburi. Due to the relaxed atmosphere some people may find the hotel services a little slack .Rooms are supposed to be cleaned evry 3 days but you will have to request this rather than wait for them. This was not a problem for me but I did over hear a few guests commenting on it!!!The best thing about the resort is the laid back atmosphere... I spent many a quiet afternoon chilling out in a hammock by my bungalow or sipping on a coconut shake in the resteraunt! I love Baan Panburi and I m already planning my trip back there next year!!!"
Matthew stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2005-05-17 and said, "great location, we had a bures hut right on the beach which is worth paying a little extra for. Tong Nai Pan is a really cool place, far removed from Haad Rin and a lot quieter, well worth the 45 min ride through the mountains. The room was a bit small and no air con can be a bit uncomfortable when it s very hot but well worth a bit of discomfort and the mossie bites for waking up on the beach -we ll definitely come back here"
nova stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2005-03-15 and said, "We arrived in Thong Nai Pan after an intense taxi ride through the jungle. The resort was very nice and the staff were pleasant. as we arrived, they gave us iced juice to drink while we checked in. I reserved a new bungalow, however, it did not look too new. The lock was broken, but the staff happily jimmied it open each time. The bungalow was not tended to while we stayed there, but for the price I did not expect that. The restrnt. was very good and the atmosphere is very pleasant. The beach is very clean and secluded, however, the sea on that beach is very rough. The village is full of super friendly Thais and cool little bars. The experience at Baan Pan Buri was nice. I would return again for a relaxing holiday."
JULIET stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2005-02-27 and said, "Right on the beach which was lovely, the bungalow was good - do not book this kind of thing unless you are prepared for it. Compared to others it was great, the right size and larger bathroom, however these bungalows cannot be lived in, they are for sleeping in and that is it. The people were nice, not the best service but good. The resort was beautiful."
Stephen stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2005-02-16 and said, "One of the best hotels we have had the joy of staying in! Baan Panburi is a must if you are on the island! It is what dreams are made out of. We stayed in a bungalow on the beach with a lovely double bed and bathroom. The resturant at the hotel is incrediable! Out of this world! The food is exceptional as is the view. The hotel had a very good laundry and taxi service. They were also very efficient in terms of organising snorkelling trips etc. All in all, one of the most special parts of our holiday to Thailand was because of Baan Panburi - highly recommend."
Charlotte stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2005-02-11 and said, "This is a fabulous place to stay. A bit of trek to get to along the dirt track roads, but well worth it. The resort caters for all requirements but there a good few excellent bars and restaurants in the little village too. The accommodation is fairly basic (no air con or hot water) but this just adds to the charm. We overstayed by two days we loved it so much!"
nathalie stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2005-02-03 and said, "It was okay . The huts are very typical. However they have no air conditioning. It gets very hot and noisy with the ocean. Just down the beach there is a hotel with a pool and air conditioning for the same price. And the showers are basically outdoors. Anyone can climb into your room if they want to. Very basic. Eat at the hotel up on the cliff, Panivmar or something like that. Go to Koh Tao instead of Phangnan...it is a little desolate."
Angela stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2005-01-20 and said, "This place was fantastic! The staff were all friendly and helpful. My bungalow was clean and I recommend a beach bure as it is literally on the beach. The food in the restaurant was amazing! I would definitely recommend this place."
Mathias stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2005-01-15 and said, "what an amazing location right at tong nai pan noi bay - nice huts on a very scenic beach - the thai house we stayed at is even nicer - great restaurant with good service and bbq in the evening...we spent amazing 2 weeks at baan panburi and are sure to be back soon!highly recommended specially if you seek to get away from the masses and discos in the south of kohphangan baanpanburi offers everything you need for a relaxed chilled out holiday in a tropical paradise!"
George stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2004-12-16 and said, "Fantastic. It was like stepping into the postcard! The huts were great, stepping out onto the sand, and a few more paces to the water...One of the best things about our stay was the food at the restaurant, I highly reccomend the banana fritters to anyone with taste buds."
stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2004-11-12 and said, "Excellent resort, very good food and a place to truly retreat from the world for a few days. Towels and sheets not changed very often, but if you don t mind that then no problem. Well worth getting the beach bure, only 20ft from the sea!"
De stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2004-10-24 and said, "still very laid-back and isolated for Thailand ... not any luxury here but an experience you will treasure for a long time ... staff fitts the idea of the resort ... laid-back, playfull ... it s like visiting friends"
Douyet stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2004-10-20 and said, "Very pleasant hotel (we have a bungalow on the beach), direct on the beach. The bungalow is simple but has every thing necessary to spend good time."
Ingo stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2004-08-07 and said, "Very nice place on a beautiful beach with a fantastic restaurant (the best we had on our 5-week holiday. Only one exception: noise from a hillside bar at night (not every day)"
Randy stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2004-05-31 and said, "This is a great place in an out of the way location on one of the most beautiful beaches on Koh Pha Ngan. I stayed in a beach bure, which was worth the extra money. This is the perfect place to just relax."
Amy stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2004-05-24 and said, "this was by far the most beautiful place i stayed in thailand and the staff were so wonderful...friendly and halpful and they always had a smile which gave the place such a warm atmosphere....thankyou"
Kerstin stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2004-04-19 and said, "The Baan Panburi Resort is a wonderful place to relax and hideway. We had a hut in the garden wing, only about 15 m away from the beach. The huts are simple but clean and comfortable and the stuff is really nice and helpful. The restaurant offers really good food to a resonable price and the beach is just like a dream."
Stefan stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2004-03-15 and said, "Etwas fuer den Abenteurer oder denen mit kleiner Geldbörse.Strand einfach super, Ambiente schön .. aber halt wirklich einfach. Kein Roomservice, Keine Climaanlagen, keine Fenster, Handtücher + Toilettenpapier können an der Reception geholt werden. Keine neue Bettwäsche, auch nach 1 Woche nicht.Aber für 3 Tage Abenteuer mit Robinson Flaier empfehlenswert."
Hierl stayed at Baan Panburi Village on 2004-03-05 and said, "The hotel is located at a fantastic, very quiet beach. A beach of which you´ve dreamed all life long. (we had first row beach view - it´s to recommend) A beautiful Resort with a familiar touch and a very good master of the kitchen, called `Ja` - like `Yes` in Germany. Most of the tourists are european farrangs - cool and handsome. One little thing to regret: You don´t get fresh towels automaticly, you have to ask for them at the reception."
