During low tide swimming in the beach not possible. Very interesting reef just 100 m from the resort."

John stayed at Asia Bungalows on 2008-03-08 and said, "A superb and very informal site with just 5 semi-detached bungalows making 10 bungalows in all. No other facilities, no pool, and no bar, and as a result the bungalows are spaced out nicely in good well kept grounds. The furthest bungalow from the beach is only about 70 metres.This is possibly the cleanest place we have ever stayed at - anywhere! The bungalows were cleaned and all bedding and towels changed every 2nd day. The couple that run Asia Bungalows are very friendly and responded to all our requests in a genuine and positive way. They arranged our exit taxi for 6am and the driver turned out to be their son - good service and good value.On the beach there are a variety of places to eat with two of the best - 'Bens Place' for top quality barbecued fish, and passable, steaks right next door and next door to that a delightful little place called 'Corel Beach' - very Thai, and a reasonable selection of Western food as well - all at bargain prices.There are lots of other places to eat and drink along the beach, and just behind it, and that is where you will find the Reggae bar - well worth a call or two. The sea in this resort is lovely and shallow - safe for children and non swimmers alike - with a great sandy beach. We had a wonderful time and would definitely book this site again."

Sten stayed at Asia Bungalows on 2008-02-13 and said, "A very nice family owned place. Just 9 excellent bungalows close to the beach and a simple reception building, all in a nice garden-like area. No restaurant, BUT it is no disadvantage. All other hotels/ bungalows at the beach have restaurants and we went to different places both for breakfast and all other meales. Good and reasonable prices and more variation than you often get with breakfast included. The beach is worth an own chapter! Clean white sand with plenty of room. 75 m out in the water you find the coral reaf. Bring you own snorkel. It is not the best reaf in the world but clear water and plenty of fish and you can visit it as often as you like at no cost. We did find only one disadvatage with the bungalows, the beds. They are extremely hard. We will ask for an extra mattress if we return to Ko Phangan. If so we will definitely go to Salat Beach depending of the beach quality. Much better than Chaweng Beach on Ko Samui. All this is valid if you like a nice not too intensive vacation. If you like intensive night life and Indian tailors every 20 m go somewhere else!"

Spotlessly clean rooms, well appointed with aircon and a fan, small fridge, instant hot water and nice decor. Cleaned every other day with fresh linen and towels, free drinking water and toilet paper daily. Laundry is available a 40 baht a kilo, it is returned the next day all laundered and ironed impecably.Penni and her staff keep the grounds and the rooms in excellent shape, flowers and grassy areas lovingly tendeded to..Do not be put off by no bar or restaurant as there are many avilable minutes away. Pook and her staff next door just right of Asia are great, helpful and excellent food and prices. The beach is pleasant but does need a clean up well up the beach from Asia... An ideal retreat peaceful and beautiful, visit soon before they destroy it with up market botique resorts... The only down point I could find was the beds.....Hard to say the least....Have a great trip"

There were only 10 bungalows when we were there witch makes this a very small hotel.The hotel isn t really a hotel though it don t have a reception or a resturant, but this is not any problem. The rooms are nice and the price is very low!The old lady that service the guest stay in a small building next to the hotel and that works out as an reception.Next door is another hotel with a cheap and good resturant where we had breakfast.The only negative thing is that the hotel dosen t really have any chairs for sunbathing/relaxing and they do not accept creditcard (only cash)."

Nick stayed at Asia Bungalows on 2007-11-23 and said, "Clean accommodation located on a quiet beach. Asia is a great place to stay on Haad Salad if you re looking for somewhere cheap. We loved our stay relaxing and doing very little. Asia doesn t have any restaurant or bar facilities itself, but the beach has ten places to eat and drink within 5 mins walk (Asia is conveniently located in the middle).Should note however that at high tide, there is effectively no beach to sit on; but I think this is the same for most of the island. If you ve got a little more money to spend, recommed Salad Hut or Cookies (both on the same beach)."

Even our 17 year old lad managed to do very liuttle for 3 days! Don t worry about lack of restaurant, plenty in easy walking distance along the beach. Salad Hut highly recommended for food, beer and pool! Don t play Pong tho , Oh, you re english, you beat me easily . Yeah right, he allowed me to pot 2. Cheers! Not the best beach for swimming, but ok. Quite a few dogs around, had one that used to escort us from the restaurant back to the accommodation looking out for us!! V friendly, and he slept on the veranda. Beds a little firm but got used to it. Shower fine, fridge great, staff great. Would certainly go back..."

Michal stayed at Asia Bungalows on 2007-09-06 and said, "we stayed at a beach front bungalow. the view from the bungalow is PERFECT and it s right on the beach. the bungalow was ok but we think it s a little bit costly compared for other resorts around. the bungalow was clean and comfortable, also the facilities around. there is no restuarant at asia bungalow but we think it s better this way since it s more quite and there are many places to eat with a few minutes of walking. also, the hotel location is great - just in the middle of the beach, so it s close to every thing you need. and the staff clean the bungalow almost every day. we enjoyed our stay and recommend it."

We had the A/C Superior bungalow, which was at the beach side and had an extra balcony with view at the sea. Nice and quiet beach, pretty far from the main tourist areas. Taxi service available for reasonable price, bike/car rent at 2 min. walk. There are plenty of bars and restaurants at the beach, of which we preferred Salad Hut the most. Too bad there s no pool, but the seawater is clean and warm. Definately recommended!"

On arrival bags were carried to beachside bungalow, close walk to several restaurants and view to beach fabulous. For full moon party they organised a taxi to Haad Rin for us, and left us to ourselves, save for cleaning every second day. Was just a wonderfully relaxed, safe environment. I will be coming back again - price is fabulous and there was never any attempt to rip us off, which is a nice change from many other places we ve stayed!Asking for a twin room meant 2 double beds which was great - not the most comfortable but still, bathroom was clean and place was well kept. An absolute pleasure, highly recommended."

Teresa stayed at Asia Bungalows on 2007-05-22 and said, "This place was absolutely amazing! we stayed 5 nights and we loved every moment of it. cheap price, bungalows are brand new and clean, located on the best part of the beach, has refrigerator and sink, owners were extremely friendly and helpful they felt like family, the garden was beautiful, the Had salad restaurant next door has the best Thai food in Thailand we ate there 3 times a day. Restaurant staff was also very friendly and funny. Basically no complaints at all. Just a note this place is for a quiet vacation but if you want a drink and some good reggae music just walk all the way down the beach to Doulbe Duke. I would definitely come back to asia bungalows. thanks luu!"

When we first arrived we were given a family bungalow which was not what we requested, but in the morning, we were moved to one of the bungalows that is the closest to the ocean. Asia Bungalows does not have a restaurant, but the other resorts do and they are really good. Both bungalows that we stayed in were very clean and the service from the owners was great. I would definately recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway."

The lady who works there is very sweet, doesn t speek much English but she ll help you in a great way. Our second day there, we liked it so much that we asked if we could extend our stay until the 20th of December. We got the information that we could. But the 3rd of January we were told that we had to move, which was very short notice during peakseason. Luckily, we got a room at the place next door to the right, where we ate our breakfast everyday. We can really recommend this place too, which also is much cheaper but unfortunately unable to book via Sawadee.com."

Nice Garden with a very friendly landlady who took care of us. Bungalows are directly on the white beach. The view is stunning. Very clean and tidy! Motorbikes can be rent not far away from it to get around the island. Restaurants around in walkable distance. If you look for calm relaxing holiday this is the best to stay. We only can recommend these bungalows and will be definitely back next time!"

Andrew stayed at Asia Bungalows on 2006-08-21 and said, "When first looking at Asia Bungalows we were not sure about the lack of both a swimming pool and a resturant yet there were no problems at all. There is a resturant just down the beach which takes 2 minutes to walk to and serves a range of foods at good prices with very friendly staff also the views were a bonus with decking and beach front views. The lack of a swimming pool was a dissapointment as the sea is shallow all day unless you swim far out which is also good for snorkling yet you can t swim until late afternoon which means it gets hot with little relief!! The rooms themselves were clean and light, i shared a family bungalow with friends and though compact it has everything you need also with hot water!! the bathroom was good size with nice shower and clean as it seems to be a new build. Overall very pleasent stay!"

Jacquie stayed at Asia Bungalows on 2006-07-05 and said, "Wonderful laid-back private accommodation.Clean and tidy grounds, bungalows had own fridges, and you can buy drinks from the caretaker lady at very good prices to leave in your fridge.The owners are very friendly and work hard at this low key establishment, beautifying it s gardens. We found no restaurant a great plus as you had no through-traffic on Asia s property, but a surprising number of choices on the small beach, and the little village behind, to eat at.Do not understand how the one high, one low tide per day and low tide season works. We were in low tide season, when the sea is very shallow, unless you walk carefully out beyond the reef where there was amazing snorkelling. The children loved the very warm shallow water to lounge in, and by the afternoon the tide was high enough to swim closer to the shore."

The Thai lady there was so friendly and helpful although she doesn t speak much English. The only shame was it was low tide season during our stay, could not swim after 8.30 am unless you walked all the way out to the reef. The beach was nice and quiet and very relax. Good for people who want to get rid of crowd. Although they don t have their own resturant but you can have food just next door, not a problem at all. I would suggest you to buy some water/drinks/snacks or whatever you think you will need before heading to it as you won t find any store over there."

Tiled floors and a tiled bathrom.A small veranda and close to the beach.Wery nice place and owner.The bungalows are one the best part of the beach with lovely sand. VERY good value for money. The only bad thing was that the place did not have a pool or a own restaurant.But theres many very good restaurants on the beach so its really not a problem.( Salad hut nr 1 is a lovely place for very good food and relaxing) and its CHEAP.The beach is not really very god, becouse of the tide and you have to walk far out for a swim. We will absolytely recomend this place."

The only complaint was we had booked a particular room in October (for late Feb.) and when we arrived the couple who were in our room were overstaying their reservation, and instead of moving them we were placed in another room. They did move us 2 days later into our preferred room, but only because someone else arrived who needed our room! But everything was superb and we would not consider staying anywhere else if returning to KPN."

David stayed at Asia Bungalows on 2006-01-26 and said, "Having travelled all around Koh Phangan and Koh Tao I am convinced that Haad Salad is the most picturesque and relaxed beach around. And the south end of this beach is the best place. Asia bungalows was great, everything was clean and worked well and despite her lack of English the lady who owned does her best to help with any queries - often calling an english speaking friend to translate. The only downside is the lack of a cafe, but Haad Salad Villas next door provides that and is less than 20 seconds walk away. If you want a chilled out time then either Asia bungalows or Haad Salad Villas (slightly cheaper and not quite as pristine but better atmosphere) is massively recommended. The whole deal here just blows away the more expensive resorts. We stayed at Sensi paradise on Koh Tao after this and despite being loads more money did not even come close (it just feels like theme park thailand!). Haad Salad offers plenty of things to do without feeling like the tourist trap that other places do. We went fishihg with a local boy who had just got his own boat (we were invited to the blessing ceremony for it) and another local boy would happily run up a tree to get coconuts for us (and Haad Salad Villas refused any money for them - contrast with Sensi who charged us a massive amount for two slices of plain bread when my wife was vomiting everything else!). Lastly the snorkelling aroung the beach is incredible and just around the bay at Koh Maad. Everyday we would see trips of people from Had Rin arrive on speed boats to have an hours snorkelling and we could just swim 50 metres! Asia bungalows were happy to lend us everything we needed (including fins!). Don t waste your money go here!"

Gesa stayed at Asia Bungalows on 2006-01-10 and said, "We were only able to stay at Asia Bungalows for 3 nights, but there is nothing to complain about - the Bungalow was very clean, had a littel kitchen area, a big bed with good matresses, a nice and clean bathroom. Although it was high season, the beach wasn t crowded at all. Durign high tide, swimming is no problem - also a littel snorkeling is possible. Over all, a very good stay for a very small price. We are defenately going again!"
