Diana stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2008-07-06 and said, "This was an experience that exceeded our expectations! The atmosphere was incredible and our guide very knowledgable - not once did we feel he was rushing us to get to the next bit and he was able to answer any questions informatively and in very good English. I would recommend this venue to any one and would use it again myself in the future."
Bee stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2008-07-03 and said, "Me and frens felt this place is unique nevertheless close to natural after run through web sites. But it is even more excited when we step in into River Kwai Jung Rafts. It is a wooden house that float on river with river in the front and short beach at the back. It was a great when i saw hammock, straight away i sat on it as i harly play with this since my childhood. You can just sit down and enjoy the natural beauty of rive kwai, the peace and rather cool wheather there. You can even jump into river and let the water current flow you to the end of the resort. The water is darn cool and it was really fun! I missed the experience in River Kwai Jungle Rafts when back to my home."
Paula stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2008-06-25 and said, "Very peaceful with accommodating staff. We stayed two nights and would have liked to have stayed longer but as the extra night was not part of a package, proved to be much too expensive. The lamplight assured early nights as it was too dark to read. The bar however, remained open until quite late. Beware of overpriced optional tours. Face massage was to die for!! Excellent food included in the price. A very enjoyable experience and would recommend this to everyone of all ages, accept toddlers who could easily fall into the river."
Kendra stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2008-05-31 and said, "A peaceful retreat much cleanier and more beautiful Bankok. In the middle of no where very nice for a 1-2 night stay after Bankok. No AC or hot water but we didn t even notice there is so much fun stuff to do. It is in a BEAUTIFUL location. You arrive on longtail boat so pack light you don t need much at all. I would for sure stay here again."
Liz stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2008-05-14 and said, "Hotel was fantastic exactly as we expected, relaxing, and beautiful. Would recommend to anyone wanting to experience true Thailand."
Hans stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2008-04-30 and said, "We had a very pleasant stay at the River Kwai Jungle Rafts. This is really something else. Without electricity it is very romantic."
Karen stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2008-04-28 and said, "This place is great fun and as such our second time. The rooms are comfortable considering we are on a raft; waking up to the bathing elephants is a novelty; the food they serve is great; nice place to meet other travelers and have a drink together; the trips are great fun and informative Would recommend to anyone looking for a fun trip/stay."
Johan stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2008-04-09 and said, "We booked the 2 days / 1 night tour and all I can say is that it was a wonderfull experience. The tour was well organised, friendly guides and the River Kwai Jungle Rafts are superb for a short stay. Very quiet, clean rooms, stunning scenery. Conclusion of this all is that it s absolutely great value for the money paid."
TENG stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2008-03-28 and said, "we like the room and the environment. would recommend the 2days1night package. they only provide 2 small drinking water on arrival. so bring in your own drinking water would be good. or else you can purchase at the hotel bar which is slightly expensive than the town price. the guide of the hotel is friendly and nice. but the one who pick us up from the hotel in a van is no courteous at all. not even greet us or explaining where are we going. and we later find out that they are transferring us to another bus which has another great tour guide."
Ronald stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2008-03-20 and said, "This was a great eixperence! the staff were terrific and the accomodftion was exactly what we wee looking for - a real non-traditional hotel experience. We enjoyed the whole experience from the guided adventue tours to the food and my son especially liked waking up in the morning and jumping in the river for a float down stream. Feeding the elephants from the raft after breakfast was also a highlight. Highly recommended."
Anita stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2008-02-28 and said, "Fantastic experience for our family of five. The children loved the place and facilities were great. We only had one night there so were unable to book room and half board WITH transfers. It was a little confusing for us to get ourselves there with no instructions. Please put the details on the web page. We took the train to Nam Tok then taxi to resotel pier (300bht), from there we took a long tail boat to the rafts and paid for the boat at the rafts. There are plenty of taxis at the train station and at the pier so dont let the hotel arrange your taxi from the pier back to Nam Tok they change 500bht."
Nicole stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2008-01-02 and said, "The Jungle Rafts were excellent, and one of the most memorable stays in out trip around Thailand. We took the three day package that incorporated a final night at the Resotel, which unfortunately was not a good finish to an otherwise excellent tour. Our recommendation is to stick to the two day tour, particularly if you like Thai food, as that served at the Resotel is very bland, european toned stuff. The trip back to Bangkok also took over 5 hours, with only one stop along the way."
Carrick stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2007-11-25 and said, "An incredible experience!! Wonderful food, fantastic itinery and gorgeous setting! A unique experience of sleeping on a river and relaxing in paradise. Anyone who is interested in going - go for it, you wont be disapointed! And if you go ask for the tour guide named Ay , he is fantastic!"
Chris stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2007-10-18 and said, "It was a great experience staying at the Jungle Rafts and so peaceful... the accommodation is basic but is made up by the scenery and the staff who are so obliging and friendly. To stay at the rafts you have to be prepared for no electricity and only basic bathroom facilities but it is a great experience for a couple of days. Swimming in the river was a highlight just drifting with the flow and taking in the sights. The 6 of us had a great time."
Elena stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2007-08-17 and said, "A nice break from busy Bangkok. We enjoyed the simple, relaxing atmosphere, lovely ambience at night with the lamps, food was good, prepared daily. Very kind friendly and helpful staff. The houses are simple, no electricity but only oil lamps (very romantic), only cold water. A veranda with shared hammock, table and deckchairs."
LEGERET stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2007-08-14 and said, "visite par un guide local tres sympa l hotel sur la riviere kwai toujours aussi merveilleux et nature ce fut 2 jours fantastiques"
Nicolette stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2007-07-22 and said, "Very romantic wouden houses (by 2 or 4) drifting on the river in the middle of the jungle. You can only reach the hotel by a longtailboat, so no noice of trafic only the sound of the river and some boats. The houses are simple, no electricity but only oil lamps (very romantic), only cold water. A veranda with shared hammock, table and deckchairs. Swimming in the river is great fun! The staff is very kind and helpfull. Restaurant is nice as well. Also possible to book daytrips."
Sarah stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2007-07-08 and said, "The Jungle Rafts are absolutely charming. This was my second visit as well as second time bringing newcomers to Thailand there. They are so well organized. You are able to see all the pertinent historical sights. The stay is comfortable and relaxing. Highly recommended. A must!"
Karunakar stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2007-07-07 and said, "great place! friendly staff and efficient management - my wife had problems with cold showers; management helped us smoothly relocate us to river kwai resotel. Highly recommend it!!"
Jorn stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2007-07-04 and said, "We spent one night at the Jungle Rafts with 2 children (6 and 8). We booked 2 rooms but 1 room had been enough (1 single bed and 1 double bed (the double one fits 2 children and an adult). The children enjoyed floating in the river with the life jackets provided by the hotel. A 5 minute walk leads to a tribal village where we had a little elephant walk.At night the elefants from the village came bathing in the river next to the rafts and the children got to feed them with the fruit leftovers from dinnerWe left Bangkok for Kanchanaburi in the morning, there we took the train to Nam Tok.In Nam Tok a taxi (Pick-up truck) drove us to the Resotel Pier (15 minute drive / 300 Baht) We booked a boat transfert from the Resotel pier in advance and there was a little confusion because the person with the boat did not speak or could not read English so he did not understand that we did not have to pay and could not read the reservation form either. We combined the stay at the rafts with a trip to the Erawan waterfalls before going back to Kanchanaburi and Bangkok the next day. At the rafts they arranged a taxi to Erawan where we had a nice swim in the waterfalls. The taxi driver waited for us to take us further to the busstation in Kanchanaburi where we took the bus to Bangkok.2 perfect days, so much nature and wildlife at only a few hours from Bangkok !The only minor thing were the many wasps during breakfast."
Margaret stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2007-06-27 and said, "Stayed on the Jungle Rafts with the 2day 3 night package. Rafts were the best thing that we did in Thailand They are spotless even though there is no electricity. Service is fantastic and meals were unbelievable given that there is no electricity for cooking. Everything was organised to perfection the guides were friendly and it was a very family like atmosphere, most staff knew our names and we had an absolutely fantastic time. The river rafts were the highlight of our trip. The kids were looked after beautifully and loved everything about the rafts including the cave and waterfall trips. To wake up with elephants bathing outside your door is a truly memorable experience. I would highly recommend the rafts to anyone particularly families looking for something a little different to the resort thing."
Nora stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2007-04-29 and said, "The whole concept of the rafts was a unique experience. We actually booked an extra night/free day in addition to a 3D/2N tour in which we could do whatever we wanted to and just relax. The atmosphere was great barring a few unruly tourists. The male staff were a bit brash but we had an excellent guide assigned to us (ask for Blai if you re planning this trip). We thought it was going to be difficult to sleep at night due to the rafts not having any electricity but it was surprisingly pleasant and chilly too. Lots of optional tours to keep you busy if you get bored although everything else apart from your tour is extra $$. All in all, really good fun!"
Greg stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2007-04-29 and said, "Unusual, unique and truly memorable setting. We enjoyed the jungle experience and found our stay very comfortable. The food was exquisite and the personal attention received by the staff made us feel welcome. A true Thai experience not to be missed."
Mr stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2007-04-21 and said, "This place is excellent! The staff were great, keeping dinner hot for us even though we arrived several hours late (the map is misleading, this place is a mission to get to from Kanchunaburi! You also need money for taxi from Nam Tok and 700B for boat) but the hotel was very helpful over the phone, even talking to a local who had to give us a life to the pier to get the boat as there were no taxis by the time we got there! Once you make it there, you re in the middle of a jungle on a floating hotel, very romantic for couples, no electricity just lanterns everywhere, and the village on the shore is very nice. Would definately recomend this place to anyone willing to make the journey!"
Dresser stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2007-03-17 and said, "Pleasantly different! See for yourself. Take plenty of Bahts. They don t accept credit cards and there s nowhere to exchange currency. Also take a torch, although they do sell mini ones at the bar."
Kumpulainen stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2007-03-01 and said, "We never used our reservation, because we didn t read the information about the place properly. The info says, that transportation is from Resotel Pier at 14.00. We had not realized (it doesn t come up in the info easily), that the pier was 70 km off Kanchanaburi, ie. 2-hour bus journey. That is no problem, if you are moving with a group and a bus, but for individual tourists that would have made our itineraries impossible."
Marin stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2007-02-26 and said, "It was a very good experience. The staff is very nice, and the rooms confortale, even without electricity. It is a lovely place to stay one or two days and the tour is interesting.I recomend it."
Michael stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2007-02-25 and said, "The first day of the NC302 is very boring, but the rest of 2 day is execellent. The food of lunch & dinner need to improve."
Randi stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2007-02-09 and said, "wonderfull place. loved it beautiful."
Libby stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2007-02-08 and said, "I loved the quiet solitude of this resort. The mon staff were fantastic, especially Suwat. He gave us a tour of his village and was very attentive. I highly recommend this resort if a few days of quiet away from the hussle and pollution of the cities is desired."
Vigdis stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2007-02-03 and said, "We had a nice time at the Jungle Rafts, but we had not foreseen that it would be so cold there in February. We had left our travelling clothes (which were the only clothes that was a little bit warm)in Kanchanaburi as we normally pack them in the bottom of the suitcase when we arrive in Thailand and don t touch them till we go home. But here I was cold from the sun set till long after it reappeared. But the experience was nice and quiet, though rustic."
Carly stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2007-01-23 and said, "We really enjoyed the entire trip, even though we actually ended up staying at the Resotel, as my parents had booked seperately, but they were very accomodating at changing us to that accomodation, which was great. The only downside was the food, when we arrived we had lunch, by that time is was about 2 in the afternoon and I figure the buffet lunch food had been sitting there since 12. Needless to say my partner and I both came down with horrible gastro / food poisioning and I started being sick on the bus on the way back to Bangkok and continued throwing up for about 24 hours after that, which kind of took the edge off our enjoyable holiday. Considering that during other parts of our trip we ate regularly from road style food stalls I was a bit disspointed to get sick from what I saw as an organised and classy establishment. In future they need to ensure that any buffet lunch foods are kept at a high tempreture to ensure others don t get sick. Apart from that aspect I would recommend this trip to anyone as it was loads of fun, and the guides were really great (mainly the local one) and told us a lot of interesting facts!"
Mrs stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2007-01-17 and said, "What a great place to spend a night by lamp light with very attentive staff. Next time I would stay at least 2 nights. Plenty to do or just relax by the river. What an experience. After dark the long boats stopped running up and down the river so it was so peaceful. The villagers who operate the rafts were very friendly and the after dinner entertainment by the young people from the village were great. No electricity or hot showers but that was not a problem as we swam in the river and went to bed early listening to the water lapping the rafts. All organization was great including the bus drivers, tour guides, long boat drivers and rafts staff. Would do this tour again.Plenty of food at all meals including a hearty breakfast of pork and eggs and toast."
Samantha stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2006-12-01 and said, "Wonderful and unique experience. Also quite emotional to be in such an historic spot. Take a torch with you as no electricity on the Rafts. Highly recommended."
Benjamin stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2006-10-19 and said, "Whilst the junegle rafts are a very unique experience they are frequented by many tourists on tours, this sometimes takes away from the tranquility of the area (lots of noisy long-tail boats) and is perhaps the reason for the staff s indifference, lack of friendliness and foucs on $ rather than the customer."
Robyn stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2006-10-04 and said, "A nice break from busy Bangkok. We enjoyed the simple, relaxing atmosphere, lovely ambience at night with the lamps, food was good, prepared daily. My children loved jumping into the river, our guide could have been more attentive though whilst we were there, I think maybe he was overworked, as he said he never got holidays!!"
Boris stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2006-08-05 and said, "The River Kwai Jungle Raft Hotel is a very good and interesting place. The stuff is very friendly, the rooms are good with oil lamps. It is located on the river and its very nice."
Frans stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2006-07-30 and said, "It was splendid. I was already a several times in a hotel like this, but every time i´m plesant suprisied. Even my Thai wife and her famaly had a good time."
Kaj stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2006-07-25 and said, "We had a nice stay, 2 nights are needed but not more !!Moon-people do not smile as Thaipeople. The tourprices are out of proportion, Now you know !!"
Gert stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2006-07-07 and said, "We had ordered pagage tour number NC302 - 3 days at River Kwai with one night stay at River Kwai Jungle Rafts and one night at River Kwai Resotel. The Jungle Rafts was a fascinating experience completely close to the river and the jungle. As we knew there was no electricity, but it was very impressive with oil-lamps int he evening. The menu was thai-food, but our fussy teenage daughter got special treatment with european food. Very good service. At the Resotel the conditions were luxury. The rooms were very good and the suroundings were impressive like a botanical garden. At both places there was a fine service (luggage, arrival, information etc.) and everything was unexceptionable."
Lee stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2006-06-29 and said, "Fantastic spot. Excellent service. Friendly people. We had a great time and were really glad we did this trip. Sleeping on the water was beautiful especially with the vibe at night with all the lamps. Definitely recommended."

Bernice stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2006-05-14 and said, "What a great place!!! We had a two year old with us so had to keep a very close eye on her as this floatel is not designed for young kids!! The staff were great and it was a highlight of our Thailand trip. If you can cope without hot water and air-con for a couple of days then this is a must do ."
Dominik stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2006-04-20 and said, "3 nights in paradise! This was one of the most beautiful places we ve ever seen and it s worth every penny! We re gonna come back!"
Tanya stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2006-02-14 and said, "We absolutely loved this place - beatiful location, tranquil and peaceful setting. It was an experience we won t forget.Although there was no electricity, it was a modern world luxury that we didn t mind or miss. The laterns provided at night really set the scene and made the location more romantic.Service and food was great, very friendly staff. This is a place that we would highly recommend to anyone wanting to experience something a little different, where relaxing is your main aim. We only stayed for 1 night as we did the two day, 1 night tour, however would have loved to stay an extra night."
Mr stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2006-02-13 and said, "Wow! what a marvellous experience! thank you all so much for making our stay so very memorable. The service was efficient and kind. The rooms were marvellous, especially as there s no electricity! Absolutely brilliant holiday and we will be recommending it to all our friends. We would like to come back at some time. The Resotel was really super. Really lovely and helpful staff. Excellent food and accomodation. Well done!!!!"
Peter stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2006-01-11 and said, "An excellent trip with very attentive staff. Would certainly go back. The only bad point of the whole experience was the journey back to our Bangkok hotel where we arrived at 7.30 not 6.00. This was not only due to bad traffic. After decanting from the main coach we were then on a minibus with three other hotels. Two close to where we stayed in Silom and the Marriot. Those of you familiar with Bangkok will know it s not near any of the others. So the Marriot drop of was just before 6.00 then the rest of us at c7.30pm. Shame really as it had been such a good tri-p."
Connie stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2005-12-26 and said, "great boat ride to transfer to the Raft. magical experience... although no electricity but the gas lamps did add to the atmosphere... got woke up by the sound of flowing river... amazing... the swim in the river and other visits were amazing as well... I am not sure if I wanted to do this again but this definitely was a great experience... highly recommended"
Katharine stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2005-08-15 and said, "wonderful. reached by Long-tailed boat, marvellous setting, friendly and helpful staff (Mon people, from local village). food good and plentiful. swinging on hammock on a raft on the River with no sound other than cicadas - great! Would have liked less if all rooms had been fully booked as no escaping from others! I found the heat oppressive at night (no electricity for fans etc.) but husband had no problesm."
Hollander stayed at River Kwai Jungle Rafts on 2005-08-12 and said, "This was my second time at the Jungle Rafts. The service has improved since I was there in 2008. Staff was great and the experience was fantastic."
