William stayed at Vongthong Hotel on 2008-04-02 and said, "Located 30 min walk from train stn and 5 min from bus stn.Staff appeared to be rather indifferent. Room was large but basic. No hot water at bathroom wash basin. No english language channels on cable TV. Terrace cafe good value at night. Breakfast bad experience, limited set menu, hot coffee was a cup of warm water with instant coffee sachet, fresh orange juice was a sickly orange cordial. I will not stay there again"

No serious complaints, although lack of at least one decent English language TV station was surprising and disappointing; non-Thai TV station reception incredibly poor. Also I don t like having to put my valuables in a shared safe. Getting laundry back was always a struggle. But these are minor irritations: overall the hotel is fine. By the way, the Balcony Bar staff (breakfast/evening drinks etc) are very nice people and the live singing every night is great. Would I stay there again? Yes. [Across the road the Star Internet shop is a good place to go.]"

Service good.LOCATION Only possible problem is situated on outskirts of town.Will definitely be returning as son is living in farm outside of town"

Only down point, at certain times throughout the day the bathroom stank of sewage, I think from a small hole in the floor. It was not a problem thoigh we just had to keep the bathroom door shut."

Rene stayed at Vongthong Hotel on 2007-11-13 and said, "Stayed in a VIP room for 3 nights. The bedroom is spacious and clean. A/C leaking after longish use; the room is so big that you have to get the A/C going the whole night (not too noisy).The shower and the bath tub are a total misconstruction! If you suffer from hip or knee problems, you won t be able to get into the tub. The shower head is mounted at knee-level height and makes showering somewhat cumbersome. The shower curtain is about about a metre away from the bath tub and is not meant to protect the water from spilling onto the floor, but to protect you from being seen by other people in the bathroom?!If you are a Westener, forget the breakfast; instant coffe that you have to prepare yourself; fried eggs that look old already as they come out of the kitchen; some Thai rice dishes. We had the bad luck that a bus group stayed at the hotel, and on two mornings, the staff was unable or unwilling to find a free seat for us in the breakfast room (veranda).But otherwise, good value for money, and I haven t seen any other decent accomodation in Buri ram; the alternatives are very limited."

THE ONLY THING THEY DID NOT LIKE WAS NO EUROPEAN BREAKFAST. I RECOMMENDED THE HOTEL TO A BEST FRIEND HE SAID THE STAFF WERE VERY HELPFUL AND HE WOULD RETURN."

Patrick stayed at Vongthong Hotel on 2006-08-30 and said, "Booked a VIP room and the car service from the Airport. At a 7:00 a.m. arrival it s nice to have someone waitng to take you to the Hotel. The room was very nice but the wood furniture in the living room area is only for show, way too hard to sit on for any period of time. The shower is a joke unless you think sitting to wash is O.K. Breakfast was a buffet only if the Hotel had a lot of guests otherwise it was a waste of time. The staff try to be helpful but at times the lack of English speaking skills can make it very frustrating to get anything done. As a place to stay for a night or two it will serve its purpose."

Towels were thin, smelly and looked unclean. They were laundered but not sure if correctly! ABF was poorly cooked, and staff unable to understand English. Thai food was good and cheap. Good cheap western food available in small restaurant across the road. Hotel transport was smelly and falling apart."

Ian stayed at Vongthong Hotel on 2005-07-04 and said, "VIP rooms are huge just ensure you don t get room 216 or any close to this since it is directly over the Karaoke bar that does not close till 2am. Also beds could do with an upgrade short and extremely hard. Thai food at restaurant was lovely. Staff were friendly albeit a few issues with communication. Definitely need to get rid of the older part of there taxi fleet with a fan belt going half way to airport and the back up was about to seize with oil light flashing and exhaust fumes coming into the van with nothing but the front seat. Would still stay there again though."
