Otherwise, very nice room, good location, large choice for breakfast. Can recommend."
Mrs. stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2008-03-03 and said, "This was our second visit and the hotel is fabulous. Try and get a room in the main building with a pool view. Our room was lovely but directly across from the restaurant. Could hear the music until it ended. The only thing this hotel could improve upon is the coffee at breakfast. Look forward to returning again!"

Two pools and the beach means there is room for everyone. If someone tries to reserve a place and leaves it for over 1 1/2 hours, the staff removes the towel making sure everyone is happy at the pool. Breakfast is amazing. Did I mention clean? Best hotel in Cha-Am! Will return - no doubt"

Eng stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2007-11-28 and said, "Our family spent six wonderful days at Methavalai Cha-Am. We booked a family room and the room turned out to be so big that my children could play mini bowling with tennis ball and plastic bottles. The location is good as there are plenty of restaurants and mini-marts nearby. The beach is just across the road and there are private chairs set aside for hotel guests. The swimming pool area is a bit small and deck chairs were reserved very early in the morning by other European guests. Otherwise it is a very good trip and we will be back."
Bullet stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2007-10-17 and said, "This Hotel is a great place to stay with 2 swimming pools. The rooms are really big and spacious and the buffet breakfast is superb with a different choice of western food every morning. I cannot fault this hotel"
Warren stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2007-10-01 and said, "enjoyable hotel with good restaurant at competitive prices. Staff pleasant and helpful. Rooms clean. Rooms hot at night as air conditioning turned down too much."
Sihachakr stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2007-08-27 and said, "We were staying in hotel Methavalei for 4days-3 nights. We took the beach villa rooms, which are located at the 1st floor. It is wonderful that those rooms face directly onto the swimming pool. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The staff is very kind and helpful. The breakfast is good and varied. Despite you have to cross the street to reach the beach, we were very satisfied of our stay at that hotel. We will come back again and do recommend the hotel Methavalei. It is good value for money."
Sobhan stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2007-08-12 and said, "Hotel was good and was to my expectations from what I saw on the net. Room Was Spacious and had a very good sea view. To sum it up, I will say it was a good value for money."
ILVONEN stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2007-08-11 and said, "We stayed at superior room. Good value for money as it was low season. Everything in the hotel worked fine. We had a room with very small balkony, but extra large room. The only complaint is the pigeons. It was impossible to use the balkony at all, because the birds made it really, really dirty everyday."
Joseph stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2007-08-07 and said, "We have stayed several times at this hotel, and have always liked it. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the two swimming pools are very good. Most of the staff are very friendly and efficient - though there were a few that were less than smiling a couple of times. Some parts of the hotel have reached the stage where they need some maintenance. In particular, the fitness centre is badly in need of this. There is hardly any equipment, and the one exercise bike provided is unusable (the seat height can t be adjusted, and you can t adjust the resitance). From earlier visits I know that it has been this way for at least two years, so the management really should do something about this. But: all in all a very good hotel. If you want to just relax (rather than sweat in fitness centre) you won t be disappointed."
J.H.M. stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2007-08-06 and said, "This is a excellent resort, the room big en clean, service is very good, nice staff and every one is there to make you staying there comfortly.Food is good, and prizes normal. Pool is very good. Only internet uses not free off charges, high prizes off using.Musik entertainment in evening by dinner also very good. they playing englisch and thai style off musik.I will certenly come back to this place."
Jamie stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2007-08-05 and said, "Old hotel (20+ yrs). But looks clean and the rooms are clean but everything needs updating. If you are looking for somewhere quiet with not much to do this is the place. If you want some entertainment, dining, etc, better you stay at huahin. Hotel have bus to huahin for 250 return. Breakfast pretty average with not much to offer. Staff all seem to be disinterested in their job and not happy or friendly. Whenever we requested something eg: Open the room safe, book the bus to huahin, even check-out all seem to take a very long time."
Evans stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2007-07-13 and said, "Hotel was nice. Pools were good. Food around was a bit expensive -- no McDonalds or the like. Beach was nice. I would stay there again."
Linda stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2007-06-25 and said, "This is my third time at the same hotel. This time I stayed in the Thai Pavillion Rooms. Booked one entire house so it was great for my whole family. Nice ambiance in those rooms! Love the huge balconey and style of the house. Only thing though, rooms are in need of renovations to update them. Lights too dark inside rooms and bathrooms and two of the rooms didn t seem to have any hot water. Still, overall, service at the hotel was good and staff, friendly as always."
MASSON stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2007-05-07 and said, "Excellent welcome. Hotel in flower, near the beach. Rooms are clean, with large blacony. Our room (the 401) had a large terrace in front of the sea. It was a dream. We were very happy. The breakfast is good. The swimming pool is large and beautifull. Thank you very much, the staff was pleasant and effective. I recommend this hotel in Cha Am"
Jan stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2007-03-28 and said, "Great hotel. Beach villa room was exelent. Good restaurant and bar, with nice and friendly staff.Breakfast was stunning."
Nelson stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2007-01-15 and said, "very nice place will return wish i was still there"
Scott stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2007-01-04 and said, "Methavalai is well located opposite the beach. Staff were helpful and friendly. We had a very large room on the 2nd floor of the main building. Room was very clean and pool areas and restaurants etc were very clean. Only negative comment is people being allowed to smoke in restaurants at hotel. Particular annoying at breakfast whilst trying to eat and surrounded by smokers. This seems to be normal in all restaurants here.We would recommend this hotel."
Mr stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2007-01-02 and said, "We stayed in one of the Thai Villa 2nd floor room as we had asked for in forehand, it was very nice although back of the villa there is quite close a music bar where you could hear music until 10-11pm, room itself was very nice but bed madrasses were really hard, we had extra bed but the room is so spacious that it fitted nicely in the room. Minibar prices were very reasonable.Breakfast was ok also. Beach is just other side of the beach road a few steps away from hotel. We did not eat nor lunch or dinner at the hotel so no comments about hotel restaurants. Hotel pool was crowded every day which is understandable since the pool area is not very big."
Linda stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2006-12-25 and said, "Second time staying at hotel and was pleased with service and hospitality of staff. The New Year s Eve dinner was done very well. Room was granted as requested, no problem there. Beach was a little crowded but guess it was because of the year end holidays. Will definitely return again!"
Kevin stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2006-11-24 and said, "Very impressive to look at,great location opposite beach, good swimming pools(however you will have to get up very early if you want to get a sunbed by the pool, too many people just leaving their towels on them then disappearing until they re ready to sit by the pool,no consideration for other guests at all!)We booked a deluxe room which was huge, nice big balcony overlooking the pool.Radio in rooms doesn t work as they can t get reception.Mini bar is very cheap (35 Baht-Small Singha beer)Although the rooms are big they are definitely in need of refurbishment, fresh paintwork ,new doors & air con units are needed to spruce the place up.Don t leave anything in the room safe as it s not bolted down(so not much point locking anything in it!)There are free safety deposit boxes in reception for any valuables which you may want to lock away.Rooms were not cleaned thoroughly.Restaurant is excellent, very reasonably priced but the staff should make the effort to smile once in a while,it s not difficult! The resident band do try but it s the same old songs every night! If it s night life your after(we weren t) don t stay in Cha Am as after 11pm just about everything closes down, this is definitely not a young persons destination,Hua Hin would be a more suitable place to stay if thats what your looking for.Good resort for families. For the price the hotel is good value but i will not be staying there again."
Derek stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2006-11-16 and said, "arriveed for 4 days first class hotel ,pool great rooms massive, and clean would definately reccomend 5/5"
Rick stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2006-10-29 and said, "Great place for families and couples alike, I stayed in a Thai Pavilion which was clean, spacious and private, the pool area is great the staff are attentive and the food is very good, right opposite the beach is great also, there are many bars and good places to eat within walking distance I highly recommend this establishment as it is excellent value for money"
R.Strachan stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2006-10-22 and said, "Room was spacious. Hotel safe advertised was not available.Wonderful pool and breakfast buffet. No need for lunch. Beach across the street. Service was good.Too late noticed stay 4 nights get 4th night free"
Allan stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2006-08-28 and said, "Methavalai is a great hotel and very good value for money. If you can do without endless streets with bars and nightclubs and just want to relax with your family this hotel has it all: great location, good facilities, nice breakfast, big rooms and a rather big pool area. Even though staff is very polite and friendly do expect a few problems communicating in English. A piece of advice: if you are a family looking for peace and quiet, avoid room 221. It is right next to the maids central with the phone ringing 24/7, a lot of commotion and just above the big conference hall hosting parties at weekends. I don t know exactly how Thai people party but they do it very loud! However, will definitely recommend the hotel."
Fam.Keith stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2006-08-09 and said, "Enjoyed a marvellous week in the Methavali suite. Staff really nice and amendable notwithstanding a few language hiccups. Breakfast okay, facilities really good and kids really enjoyed the horse riding on the beach across the road. Value for money stay and I would certainly stay at this hotel. Beach really livens up at weekends when the locals effectively take over to camp on beach but quite inside hotel."
Gunnel stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2006-07-24 and said, "Had booked 2 rooms in the mainbuildningbut due to renovation we got rooms in the new methavalai villa not a villa but a new buildning behind the main.Very nice rooms wonderful bathroom with both bathtub and shower. But only partly seaview on the balcony.Cha Am is a bit to quiet for us to little to do in the hotel. Our kids missed tabletennis, tennis. We checked out 3 days earlier than expected and went back to Bangkok.Hoteltransfer to Hua hin with minibus 1000 bath to expensive for a family. We think it should be free of charge for guests! The service in the hotel was so so.My medicine(expensive )was trown away by the room-maids. I kept it in the bathroom very dissapointed! Not a very big effort to look for it was made from the hotel! We will not come back again! To much locals from Bangkok in the weekends very crowded huge groups! The staff was not as smiling as they should be,may be because of this big groups all the time? At breakfast you have to pour up your own the and coffee many times..not good!"
Linda stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2006-06-26 and said, "Yes, I am very pleased with the hotel and enjoyed my stay very much. I am especially pleased that the rooms I asked for were given as requested! Service at the restaurants and reception were both courteous and friendly. I am definitely planning to return again this Christmas with friends and look forward to yet another pleasant stay. I have already recommended the hotel for another family who are planning to visit first week of August. Thank you again for a great stay and I look forward to my visit again this Christmas!Linda"
Doreen stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2006-06-25 and said, "Stayed in methavalai suite.Room excelent staff as always helpful and friendly.Breakfast plenty to choose from. But can be crowded on weekends many local thais use hotel then. This is our 3rd visit great value hotel Reccomended."

Ian stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2006-05-06 and said, "At the time of our visit mostly Thai guests which is probably the norm but that only added to its charm - more varied breakfast! Staff sometimes struggled with English but were always very friendly and helpful. I loved the hotel the location and the locals. For a massage go and see Yai and Pan at Kumjan Massage palour near the hotel. You must eat at the street stalls!"
Milutinovic stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2006-04-14 and said, "Very nice hotel...We were staying there durning Songkran and was a bit busy, but it was enough space for all. 2 swimming pools, Cha Am long beach just accross the road, beautiful room and balcony with sea wiev, and surprisingly for thailand balcony was without aircon unit tunderring next to you...Nice and paecefull place...Hua Hin 20 min by bus from the main road, fare 20 Bath p/p... Will be back..."
Graham stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2006-04-05 and said, "This Hotel was great I would recomend . Staff friendly, Food good, Room Very nice. 9 /10. Cha-Am is quiet the beach is OK however there is no cordoned off area for swimming and the Jet ski drivers often drive right through groups of swimmers!Graham & Sue"
Rehn stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2006-01-21 and said, "We are very satisfied with our stay in Cha am,with all Hotel had to offer service etc.Return we to Cha am are Methavalai Hotel an natural choice off Hotel."

Richard stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2005-12-18 and said, "Cha-Am is a fairly quiet resort with The Methavalai Hotel probably the largest in the resort. The room are of excellent quality and cleanleness. Breakfast choice was good, and the staff were really friendly and helpful....for a peaceful relaxing holiday i can recommend the Methavalai."
Lee stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2005-12-05 and said, "The room was clean and spacious enough with a balcony facing the beach. The hotel itself is situated just a stone s throw from Cha Am beach where lots of activities (sports, shops) are. Breakfast was a good spread. They have a great kids pool too. Overall a good family resort. Wish we had stayed a day more....won t mind going back again"
Syd stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2005-11-07 and said, "I spent just over 2 weeks at this hotel and had a fabulous time. A tip if you want it is to request the Beach Front, Sea View Honeymoon Room it was well worth it as the balcony was enormous, and the only ones I believe to have sun beds on the balcony, and with total privacy the curtains can be left open at night with spectacular views of the sea and sky to go to sleep with. The breakfasts are very good, but at the weekend chaos reigns as the hotel, like others in Cha Am, is open to parties from Bangkok and at one stage the Chef catered for over 400 guests. The pool area is good with plenty of space, but this was the start of the season and I can imagine it getting pretty crowded later in the season. The usual stock of restaurants and we found Max s just right for us and the food superb. (Out of the hotel to the right and about 50 yards along the street). All in all a totally relaxing holiday and well worth the money."
Darren stayed at Methavalai Hotel Cha-Am on 2005-08-05 and said, "Excellent hotel. The main pool was being renovated during our stay, but the new pool built last year was an excellent back up.Rates were excellent (2 family rooms at 1850 each per night).Would recommend."
