John stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-06-15 and said, "The bathroom was the disgusting, I moved to the ChangMaigate Hotel, much better value and very clean."
Violin stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-05-29 and said, "Hotel is older, modest, but clean. It is in a very convenient location for shopping, eating, and playing. Staff is helpful and kind. Breakfast buffet is great. I would recommend if you re looking for something clean and safe but on a budget."
Alan stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-05-29 and said, "Suriwongse Hotel Chiang Mai 29/5/2008 to 31/5/008One of the best Hotels I had stayed at in Thaihland. The staff on the front desk were very helpful in every thing I wanted. The Breakfast was plentiful. Hotel right in the heart of the Night Markets. I will be staying at this Hotel again and do recomend it. Rooms very clean. A Thai Massage is highly recomended at the hotel next to Pool."
Maria stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-05-24 and said, "Best part of this hotel is the location!Right outside the hotel is the daily night market so its great for shoppers! Its also about 15 min. walk to the Sunday Market (also a must) at Thapae Gate. Hotel decor is old & dark, and rooms smelled musty. First room they offered us smelled like smoke, but the staff was gracious enough to switch to another room that was more suitable. Bathrooms also need to be updated & didnt look clean. Breakfast buffet had some variety, but did get old after 3 days.Complimentary alc. cocktail was also a nice touch.Would only stay again if all the rooms were renovated."
Navdeepak stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-05-17 and said, "The Hotel is ideally located and provides nice view of the mountains around. The reception was friedly and provided good information. The breakfast lacks allignment as the food items are spread in many areas are not displayed in a sequence. The beds provided in the room were very comfortable and spacious and could easily accommodate a family with 2 adults and a child.Overall it was a very nice experience for my family and me."
Lim stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-05-06 and said, "Hotel location is fantastic, night bazaar at the door step. Breakfast is good and buffet dinner is really good especially contonese buffet. Room is big but a bit old and a few mosquito here & there. Bathroom water pressure is high can really enjoy a good bath. Value for money & I will surely stay here again for my next visit."
Andrew stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-04-24 and said, "Great location, good facilities, no problems. The double bed was two single matresses joined together."
Kevin stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-04-24 and said, "We had a large, clean room in a hotel close to the shopping. The staff were friendly and helpful and we felt that our stay was real value for money. I would ceertainly stay here again on my next trip to Chiang Mai"
John stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-04-18 and said, "Hotel was great in every respect: friendly and professional staff, good variety of restaurants, good location, most excellent travel advisor in the lobby. Room was spacious and inviting. Will book here any time I am in Chiang Mai"
AHMAD stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-04-06 and said, "Everything is acceptable except for the room lighting which is a bit insufficient or dim and the room decor and carpet which appear to be worn out.Need to consider gradual upgrading. Location wise, the hotel is superb so is the staff.Food is reasonable.I would not hesitate to be a repeat guest and at the sametime to recomment to friends who wish to visit Chiangmai"
JULIA stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-03-29 and said, "WE STAYED IN THIS HOTEL FOR 1 NIGHT AND SURPRISE TO SEE MOUQUITOES IN OUR ROOM AND THE RESTAURANT WHERE WE HAD OUR BREAKFAST. ALSO THE BREAKFAST IS AVERAGE WITH NOT MANY VARIETY. WILL COME BACK TO THIS HOTEL FOR THE ROOM RATE AND THE LOCATION."
Mr.Suchai stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-03-22 and said, "good"
Mr.Carl stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-03-18 and said, "Quite a worndown place and for me staying just a couple of days I could survive. But not a chance I would stay there for a longer period! The room deluxe was big - but with no charm. Bathroom terrible with cracked tiles and dirty. Wall to wall carpet so disgusting that you dont want to walk on it with bare feet. I guess this is a place from the 70´s and it has not had any improvements since. Price rather low but should not be any higher for the standard offered. In fact I am amazed why the owner does not renovates it and then being able to offer something much better at a higher price?! I will not return. A dump it is and that is not what I like for my stays."
Wee stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-03-16 and said, "Night bazaar at hotel s door steps. Near to food - you ll find them as you settle in. The hotel would be better with a bit of sprucing up and brighter lights but why complaint for the rates charged. Anyway we just need a place to bathe and sleep. Generally, it s decent. Would be good if the staff polished up their English (or may be we should polish our Thai language?)."
Mr stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-03-16 and said, "hotel is value for money, staff are all helpfull and pleasant, location is excellant, will definatly be back"
Brett stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-03-15 and said, "never a problem here , 3 stays so far and will use again, highly recomend for budget motel"
Bangert stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-03-05 and said, "Now we were on the move 7 weeks in south east Asia and have spent the nicht accordingly at many hotels. The Suriwongse Hotel was by fare the worst one. Rooms wore out and the staff a little cooperativly. Only the position is excellent. Again i will not spend the night at this hotel any more."
David stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-03-03 and said, "Excellent location for market. Short walk to Ping River and superb restaurants and live entertainment and not too far from the moated centre in opp direction. The Hotel was very good value but maybe needs updating a little in the bedrooms, no complaints though for price. Would recommend!"
Craig stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-02-28 and said, "Actually a bit better than expected for the price. Rooms was bright and good sized. Bathroom adequate, but beware of the temperature fluctuation while showering. Breakfast is adequate, but more variation and choice would be welcome. The location is prime for the Night Bazaar"
Michael stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-02-23 and said, "The hotel was located in the middle of the night baazar area, which we found good. The rooms were nice and clean and our family room suites us well. Negative things were the wireless internet that had a high price and did not work. The staff could not give me logins or password so i had to wait to the right person could come and give me it. When i finally got it it didnt work. They didnt seem to understand the complaint i gave them and no money was refunded for the internet. 200 bat/hour.The pool was ok but the sun couldnt find the poolarea because of the high walls. If you stay here you should try to get rooms to innerside, not street side because of the noise from the market. After 12 it isnt a problem because the market is closed.Good price, good location but service could be better."
Chan stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-02-20 and said, "Great location, right at the doorstep of the Night Bazaar. Clean and the rooms are big. Very strict about additional guest though."
Bruno stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-02-10 and said, "It is better to make a reservation using an agent, as they are better to deal with then directly with the hotel (you will get a better price). For approximately $30 a night, the room is at the level of what we paid for; everything (carpet and furniture) are worn out; there was a bad smelling odor in the room; a complaint made regarding the odour just brought someone in to spray cheap perfume. The shower head popped out of the wall and flew over my head. Breakfast is ok, not much more to say. Welcome drink is a joke; a fruit juice and not much of alcohol. Pool is nice but water is colder then expected. On the upside though, the main areas of the hotel are clean and the hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating when a checkout extension was needed. The hotel is in a central location to the night market which makes it handy for shopping and restaurants."
Denise stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-02-10 and said, "The main areas of the hotel were very clean and pleasing. The hotel staff are very friendly and willing to accommodate your needs. The room is what you can expect for approximately $30 a night - outdated and in need of some serious renovations; however it was clean. Though the need for renovations is highly recommended to the hotel if they are to stay in line with the larger hotels in the area, I would still consider staying there on my next stay in Chaing Mai."
Bryan stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-02-01 and said, "I m always happy with my stay at Suriwongse. The location is great and the staff very freindly and helpfull. However, the rooms need some atention, especially non smoking rooms really stinking of smoke. Apart from that I m totally satisfied."
Patricia stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-01-31 and said, "Very nice hotel and for the money it was fantastic, I had no complaints, very clean."
Gordon stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-01-29 and said, "Big hotel, good location being right next to the night market. Pool although clean was always in shade. Staff friendly with good english. Rooms now looking a bit tired but clean with everything you would expect for the price. Good breakfast."
Shany stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-01-27 and said, "The hotel was a little out-of-date, and the brekfast there was inadequate but his position was without competitors really second from spectacular night market. the rooms truly big, but not the most clean, and their design is out-of-date. In any case the staff are very courteous in the receipt but the chambermaids are sometimes stealing from the suitcase, so be careful. But chang may is amazing you will not want to leave it."
Monica stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-01-26 and said, "Agree with the latest reviews, good value for money, nice and friendly staff, rooms that could use a little paint but clean and spacious. Good breakfast buffet. Location excellent for shopping & restaurants."
Jasmine stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-01-13 and said, "Fantastic location, right in the centre of all the night markets, and excellent value for money. We stayed in the excecutive suite and it was masive. The decore is a little out of date, but if it had a little attention it would be brought back to its glory. Staff were excellent as like everywhere in Thailand. Make sure you take plenty of mosquito repelent!! They are are everywhere in Chiang Mai."
Wild stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-01-12 and said, "stayed there many times, always satisfied, centrally located"
SURI stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2008-01-11 and said, "Hotel has a great location, night markets at your doorstep/driveway. Fast food, starbucks are very very close by. Rooms are basic with no kettle for boiling water. Swimming pool is also very basic. Comfortable stay, but don t expect much. Hotel is a great choice if you re going to be out all day and just coming back to take a shower and sleep. Room rates are reasonable and you get what you pay for."
Paul stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2007-12-28 and said, "Spent 7 nights at Suriwanse Hotel in Chiang Mai. Nice hotel for the price range and near to Night Bazzar. Very friendly staff and clean hotel. My only negative comment is the rooms were dark even when the lights were turned on. The light bulbs were pretty dim, it was hard to see. I suggest they use compact fluorescent bulbs instead of incandescent bulbs. But other than that, nice place to stay. I would stay there again in the future."
Grant stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2007-12-26 and said, "Great location, B fast is good, rooms are clean and biggish for the price. 2nd stay here, and would stay here again."
Carole stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2007-12-20 and said, "The hotel was great. Really great area and very close to the Night Bazaar. We found the hotel to be clean and all staff really helpful - can recommend - I will definitely stay there next time in Chiangmai."
Abu stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2007-12-09 and said, "Luv the convenience of the hotel to the night bazaar and the room even though its old its well maintained. However the reception billed me 50baht for use of the adaptor even though it was returned at the time of checking out."
Hauser stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2007-11-23 and said, "Clean and good location for night market and bars all in front of doorstep or 2-3 min away. The service and breakfast was disappointing. I missed the smile in the staff faces. Everything seemed to be an extra thing for them. Old hotel which lives of its location."
Tay stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2007-11-18 and said, "A hotel with good service and friendly staffs. Clean rooms. Strategic location which is very near the night bazaar. Breakfast is also quite good. Quite satisfied."
Tan stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2007-11-14 and said, "The hotel is conveniently located beside Chang Klan night bazaar, so night shopping was a pleasure. However breakfast was not exceptional good. There is day tour agencies located at the lobby with reasonably good prices. The staffs were friendly & helpful. However, the hotel & room is not new & sparkly but comfortable enough for a good night s rest. But there is no boiler in the room to boil water with for my coffee, that s disappointing."
Tan stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2007-11-14 and said, "Abit old but for the price, & location in the centre of Night Bazaar, it is highly recommended"
Leah stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2007-11-13 and said, "The hotel was great. We had read a lot of bad reports about this hotels breakfast before we went, but we were so suprised at what a great selection there was. Fruit, cereal, toast, pastries, eggs, bacon, sausages, porridge, waffles, many asian dishes, ommlete made while you watch, juice, coffee and tea. What more would you want?? The rooms were clean, besides a bit of mould on the bathroom tiles (which is pretty common for Asia) The staff were friendly. The bed was HUGE and very comfortable. not hard as a rock like may other places. The location was perfect. Right in the middle of the action and the night bizzar, yet suprisingly quiet. There was no coffee and tea facilities, but we took our own coffee and bought a little kettle at the Robinson shopping centre for $11AUD. No hairdrier, but that didn t bother us. Overall, I was very impressed and would not hesitate to stay here or to recommend people to stay. Really fantastic value for money. Standard room including breakfast cost us $37AUD for two. The hotel offered a safety deposit box at reception. It felt safe as did all of Chiang Mai. What a grat place and beautiful people."
Sim stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2007-11-09 and said, "rooms is a bit old, but comfortable, services are good and helpful staffs..specially thanks to the travel agent(express travel) they are very helpful too..worth staying will come backsawadee"
Tan stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2007-11-07 and said, "good service.hotel room is clean.value for money, convenient, swimming pool is small but not important to us as we dont use hotel facilities during stay except the massage service."
Robert stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2007-11-05 and said, "THe Suriwongse is an older hotel but is still comfortable. The staff was very friendly. Avoid the breakfast if possible - worst food on my trip. The hotel is will situated to the night market and it is an easy walk to the core of the city. We to a tour to the Elephant Park which was throughly enjoyed. If you rent a car you can do it on your own. I would stay at the Suriwongse again."
Rune stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2007-10-28 and said, "I nice hotel with a very central location, Night Basar just around the corner. The room was clean and big with a good bed. Nice breakfast buffet."

Marchi stayed at Suriwongse Hotel on 2007-08-13 and said, "the hotel is located in a wonderfull position just few meters from the night market . the price we paid is a good price 1200 bath, even if the hotel needs renovation , the rooms are big , and I will stay again when I will come again in Chang mai."
