Dawnette stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2008-05-11 and said, "Bare Bones but a great location if you want to be by the night market."
Christopher stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2008-03-23 and said, "Royal Lanna Chiang Mai.Good location near night bazaar. Clean roome, good breakfast buffet. My only complaint is the rooms are a little sparse and ready for a renovation IMO. I have stayed here 2 times and the service is consistently good. Well worth the 1150 Bt I paid per night."
Er stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2008-03-22 and said, "the only commendable point of the hotel is its unbeatable location right in the heart of the night bazaar. We stay there for three nights and the buffet breakfast has never changed.Room has strange smell as you entered and definitely due for refurbishment. The air-con is too loud and after running for couple of hours it lost its cool as well. The room and bathroom are clean though, good work on the housekeeper. I will no consider this hotel next time i visit Chiang Mai."
Gary stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2008-02-15 and said, "This is a great location & the staff is wonderful. The room could use some fresh paint, but I will come back again for my next stay in Chiang Mai."
SUKRAN stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2008-01-20 and said, "The hotel was good, worth with what I paid for. But dont expert too much from this hotel, it just a basic hotel with basic amenities.with no internet available regardless wireless or wired.the buffet breakfast was good with variety of choices. if i were to return to CM i will look for another hotel with internet facility but overall i m satisfied with this hotel"
Mary stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2008-01-07 and said, "Very good location. Cannot be better. But the breakfast fare is a disgrace for such a good hotel & needs to be improved. I have stayed in a much cheaper hotel in Chiengmai but the breakfast was so much better with more variety. Otherwise service is good & no other complaints. Transfer to airport is provided at reasonable price of 150 Baht for us as a couple. Thank you Lanna Hotel."
Ang stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2007-12-23 and said, "Good value hotel for the location - which is great for shopping and/or sightseeing all over Chiangmai in the day, and food and the night bazaar just outside in the evening. Breakfast is good and about standard for most of Thai hotels. Will use this hotel again if in CNX."
JOHN stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2007-11-30 and said, "The Royal Lanna is value for money if you book on the web. We came from Bangkok where we stayed in a pokey room for 300 baht less. We were pleased to find that the rooms here are reasonably spacious, clean, good view, good bathroom and are cleaned daily. The staff are pleasant and professional, the foyer is attractive, lifts good, the dining area on the first floor is large, airy and inviting, and the breakfast offers a generous selection. The swimming pool on the fourth floor looked attractive although we didn’t try it. The hotel is located next to the Night Markets, and about 10 minutes walk from the old city. Alternatively you can avail yourself of the ubiquitous tuk tuks or taxis, or rent yourself a motor scooter and zoom up to the old city in minutes. Good meals can be had at the Night Markets whole fish in tamarind was sharp, spicy and excellent, the crab curry sweet, succulent, delicious also excellent meals can be bought close by at the Kalare Night Bazaar. Don’t miss the fabulous Sunday evening markets in the old city, close to the Thaphae Gate, nor the bookshops also near the Thaphae Gate. Yes, we would stay here again, for convenience and value for money. Barry and Denise McGloin Canberra Australia"
Stan stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2007-11-23 and said, "Friendly staff at this hotel right smack in the center of the Chiang Mai Night Bazaar. The room was a little more expensive than other hotels in Chiang Mai for the price; breakfast buffet included. The room was big but old and in need of some maintanence. The air conditioner would freeze up and stop making cold air. Walls needed paint as did the hallways. The lobby and 2nd floor areas were well maintained but not the rest of the floors. An OK place but would not stay again for the same price."
Tony stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2007-11-23 and said, "Service was good and the location was great too. Difficult to find at first because the main entrancce was not on the main street. The price was reasonable."
Thomas stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2007-11-20 and said, "The Royal Lanna hotel is the best location in Chiang Mai. The room is reasonable clean."
Miss stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2007-11-19 and said, "Great hotel - beautiful foyer area. The rooms were HUGE!!! And the windows took up nearly the whole back wall - which was great as there was fireworks every night we were there! Right in the Night Bazaar (night markets) which was great for us. There was also a Pharmacy directly across the street, which was really convenient when one of us got a head cold! We will definately stay at this hotel again - GREAT value for money!!"
David stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2007-11-19 and said, "Excellent location. Hotel quite comfortable for the price but the beds are extremely hard. Staff very helpful. The all day coffe shop seems very under-used considering their very competative prices for snack/lunch type food. Buffet style breakfast fairly good as long as you like Thai or Contionental style breakfasts. However the fried eggs are either hard-cooked or under-cooked - which leaves one liable to food poisoning (and there is no bacon on offer, just frankfurter type sausages). Overall would stay again if only for the locatioon and the price."
Clarence stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2007-11-18 and said, "We were very pleased with the hotel. Cleanliness, attentive staff and location adjacent to the night market was excellent. Some additional room lighting would be helpful. The shower was excellent."
Clarence stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2007-11-18 and said, "We stayed five nights and were very pleased. The rooms are clean and comfortable for a good price. All staff members we dealt with were friendly and efficient. Full breakfasts provided as part of the daily rate were excellent. The hotel s location adjacent to the night market is a bonus!!"
Diane stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2007-11-08 and said, "I really enjoyed staying at the Royal Lanna. The Location is fantastic. The rooms are plain but very spacious. We met a gent from the US that spends 6 months of the year there and gets a great rate. Breakfast is included - buffet style - pretty good. The staff is very accommodating. The travel desk was very helpful and arranged a car and driver for $40.cnd a day. Also arranged for us to see a thai boxing match. I would definately stay again!"
Thomas stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2007-11-02 and said, "Nice hotel with perfect location right next to the night bazar. The room was clean and very big. Breakfast ok with both continental and thai food. No luxurius hotel, but medium standard hotel. I don´t have any complaints and I can recommend this hotel."
Stephen stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2007-10-03 and said, "Great location but the rooms are a little clinical and we couldn t get connecting rooms (even though the hotel was far from full). Stayed in better for less in other parts of Thailand. But everything else was great - staff, food etc so would stay again no problem."
Sinead stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2007-09-11 and said, "This hotel is in an excellent location. However the hotel is a bit out-dated but the rooms are big, bright and clean. They clean the room and change the sheets everyday. There is an excellent travel agent at the hotel, book all my trips from there and speaking to other people on the trips I was charged the cheapest! Would definitely go back there and would recommend the hotel for the price & location."
Jim stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2007-09-06 and said, "Very good hotel, right in the night market area, on the Loy Kroh rd/chang klan rd junction. rooms were very big and clean, and big bed. had good views of mountains in distance.I did not see a bar or resident massage in the hotel, but no prob as they wwere all not very far away. tour desk prices were very reasonable.Great Breakfast area and good choice in comfortable Air con restaurantwould stay here again and recommend it"
Konrad stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2007-08-24 and said, "Royal Lanna is a good hotel just in front of the night bazar. The location is perfect. Regarding the rooms the furniture is minimal but nothing is missing. It s not a 5 star hotel, but it s OK, nothing is missing and everybody is doing their best to make your stay enjoyable. The restrooms are clean. A little bit old but nothing to complain. The breakfast is good with Thai & European food. There s a travel agency inside the hotel, useful if you want to book some tour around Chiang Mai. At the end, I will suggest this hotel."
David stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2007-07-12 and said, "Nice hotel, right in the centre of the night bazaar area. Large room, nice bathroom and friendly efficient room girl. Pool was fine - though cold! Breakfast buffet also fine. In all no complaints. Would definitely stay ther again."
Paul stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2007-06-09 and said, "FRIENDLY STAFF.BUT NO SMOKING ROOMS.HAD TO TRY TWOROOMS TILL I FOUND ONE THAT WAS BEARABLE.NON-SMOKERS WILL NOT REPEAT RESERVATION UNLESS YOU OFFER NON SMOKING ROOMS.INCREASE BUSSINES AND OFFER WHAT OTHER HOTELS OFFER."
Nico stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2007-04-20 and said, "Nice hotel at superb location near night bazar. Prompt service, nice people, modest swimming pool."
Agnes stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2007-02-09 and said, "we had a standard room that was clean, spacious and correct. The staff very friendly, the breakfast great. This hotel is situated on the night bazar that was great and not noisy. Very good value for money"
Lynn stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2007-01-09 and said, "We stayed at the Royal Lanna for one night. Check in was very speedy and the lobby looks nice. The rooms look like they have not been renovated for a long time, however they were a good size and clean. Breakfast is included and has a great selection. Only downside were the few little ants on our table in our room, and in the restaraunt. The hotel is definately good value for your money, the location in the middle of the Night Bazaar is perfect, and is across from a great spa (Let s Relax)."
Paul stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2006-10-29 and said, "Good service and breakfast. Simple but spacious room. Location very good. Tour desk lady very helpful and give good rates for tours."

Uri stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2006-09-27 and said, "exelent location, great staff, the room are not the best, but are good for the price. we had a great time on the royal lanna."
Beltrami stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2006-08-12 and said, "Good place, right in the center of the Night Bazar. The standard room was very big, and with a nice view (10th floor)...well kept and clean too! A huge breakfast...what more for this price?"
Mr stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2006-07-08 and said, "nice hotel value for money. rooms basic but clean. great view of chaing mai city and hills. nice breakfast. air con abit old but ok."
Mr. stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2006-05-28 and said, "Good hotel. Centrally located just around the corner of the night market, on walking distance to the sunday night market, walking distance to the old city. Good breakfast room ( asian and AMB served )Didn t use dinner nor Lunch in the restaurant. Massage service is on call, but my masseuse wasn t so good. Facing the mountain means now Facing a high rise building , but there still is a good view. The swimming pool is just a swimming pool, nothing special, no thrills! Overall clean, friendly hotel-staff, large and nicely done lobby. Good tourdesk ( pick up is on time, tours are not expensive ), friendly and honest!! salesman at the tourdesk. Rooms are clean, plenty of space. Clean bathroom too. Didn t miss a thing what s been said on this site! I ordered thru the reception a cab, a day in advanced. Twice confirmed that it will come, but after waiting half an hr. I used the hotel shuttle, which cost me a lot more. Will definatly come back to this hotel if I travel too Chiang Mai again. Can recoment this hotel to all."
CM stayed at Royal Lanna Hotel on 2006-02-20 and said, "Asked for mountain view but was given a 7th level room river view with no river in sight. Had a nice sunrise view though. There is construction going on right now on mountain view side of the hotel (to be completed in 2 years time), so the staff thought it would have been too noisy for me and used their initiative to put me in the river view side. When I asked to check a higher floor room, the front office obliged, but the room smelled heavily of smoke so I stayed put in my 7th floor room. Found out the hotel does NOT have non-smoking floors. Room and toilet are spacious but the floor is cold marble. Couldn t get hot water showers in the nights. Guessed it was a matter of supply and demand. The pool is less impressive than its photo, and being on the 4th floor on the mountain view side, you get noise and dust and a not-so-pleasant view of the contruction site when sun bathing. Unimpressive breakfast too although the staff gave me vouchers for 2 persons even though I was alone (in case I had a friend joining me for breakfast). The cook pre-fries sunny-side-ups and leaves them on the warmers. So I didn t bother with them at all. Staff friendliness could be improved too. Mostly lukewarm. Not likely to stay there again."
