VANNA stayed at Ping Buri on 2008-06-05 and said, "Great little hotel. Not so far from the tourist s attractions. Close to the airport. Real cozy. Had some construction next door but otherwise real nice hotel."
Olive stayed at Ping Buri on 2008-01-20 and said, "The room a little old but was very clean. The triple room for my parents & sister were spacious and was comfortable for the price value. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Only one staff (male) working in the afternoon shift does not understand English and no so helpful. The staff who served us breakfast was fantastic & great service, however not much of breakfast choises. There is only 4 different set of breakfast which we ordered the same set each morning. (the others were too spicy or rice dish). The night Bazaar is too far away to walk. It s NOT 10mins walking distance but 10mins by tuk tuk or red car (cab) which cost Bht20 per person. Will come back if we visit Chiang Mai again. People is nice at the hotel and getting transportation is very convinience."
Yaowares stayed at Ping Buri on 2008-01-12 and said, "Very good for this rate room. The room is clean , cool and completely. The staff is very friendly."
Ian stayed at Ping Buri on 2007-11-25 and said, "Ping Buri was fantastic. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food that was served was great. There are some food shops down the road. To get to the night markets, it was just a 20-30Baht red taxi ride away!! (all areas in the center of town are accessible at a similar rate)."
Netteke stayed at Ping Buri on 2007-10-15 and said, "Very friendly staff, they will do everything to help you. They offer good tours around Chian Mai.Room are simple but clean and have enough space. It s a bit far from the main center, but ofcourse you can get a tuk tuk into town.I would def come again!"
Natalie stayed at Ping Buri on 2007-02-06 and said, "This hotel has both good and bad points. On the plus side, the rooms are clean and spacious, the air-conditioning works well and the staff are helpful. The decor is somewhat sparse with concrete floows in the common areas etc. We had booked a de luxe room but as this was at the front of the hotel it was very noisy. We asked to be moved to an inside room, which was much nicer and quieter (doesn t seem worth paying the extra for a de luxe room). The hotel is on the opposite side of the old city to the night market and while it is an easy walk through the old city itself, you need to get a tuk tuk to and from the night market. There are some nice cafes and restaurants near the hotel as well. I think that overll it was good value for money and we had no complaints at all - just don t expect anything too luxurious and be prepared to walk a bit to get to the sights."
Seema stayed at Ping Buri on 2007-02-05 and said, "This was an average hotel. The staff was nice and friendly. The rooms were large and clean, but were a bit dark and dingy and dated. The bathroom had some ants. Not sure we would stay here again."
Joe stayed at Ping Buri on 2007-01-04 and said, "This place was very dissapointing. It is located right on the busiest road in Chaing Mai, you hear traffic wizzing by all night long. The rooms are ok, but nothing special at all.The photos on the web site are very misleading. They show a beautiful water garden, when actually all that is there is a 3-foot by 6-foot garden pool. They say you are within walking distance of the night market, maybe so if you re a marathon runner. The night market is on the opposite side of town and is a 100-baht cab ride away."
Kelsey stayed at Ping Buri on 2007-01-03 and said, "The hotel is good for the money. I would give it a 3 out 5, with the size of the room being the best and the bathroom being the worst part of the experience. The staff was great and they made my first trip to Chiang Mai very enjoyable."
Charles stayed at Ping Buri on 2006-12-25 and said, "We had a clean and spacious suite with a view of the rooftop garden and could see the sun reflecting from the golden chedis at the Doi Suthep temple in the distance. The staff was friendly and accomodating. A bit of a walk to the night bazaar and riverside area, but plenty along the way to make it an enjoyable walk."
Pimmanas stayed at Ping Buri on 2006-12-23 and said, "It would have been a great deal in this rate if we didn’t have two little kid with us (18 mths and 21 mths old) because- The driver didn’t wait for us at the airport eventhough we had earlier paid booking. Waited for them for an hour and also had to call the hotel before getting the driver (after we exhausted from the long journey from 8am until arrived at 8pm)- We had to pay for the spared bed (300 baht/night) because they didn’t have the baby cot as Sawadee confirmed before we arrived, so that was un-expected cost. And paid for another 30 baht/day for the safe box (not free)- Inside the room, no kettle, no mini-bar, so no hot water to make milk or coffee (so they had a great help by giving us the electric kettle (I didn’t mind it was old and falling apart as long as it is still in use), great help from the reception girl..- Inside the toilet, we don’t mind not to have the bath tub in this type of budget hotel but there is no plug to stop the water escaping from the sink (when we need the to soak the bottles and bath the little one), and there was no hot water the sink either. We asked them for help so they gave us the buffet tray…great help.- Outside the room door was near the staircase and ground floor level windows (so children can fall down from 3rd or 4th floor to 1st floor, not so safe for little on who loves to climb.- There was no porter or bell boy to help unless we really needed help or request. For the breakfast, there were only 2 choices everyday American breakfast or porridge which was quite tasty. For the location, it was good but not so convenient for a great meal or shopping, there is a very great massage place next door…very very good. Staff was also very helpful to give the information when we wanted to go somewhere. The traveling agent and driver counter in the hotel were great service in reasonable price. As I said, if we don’t have two little kids, it would have been easier to stay in this hotel because it is a good deal (no need spared bed, kettle, tray, hot water, or safety concern). We had a great time in Chiangmai this time, I definitely come back here again and if I don’t have kids with me next time, I don’t mind to stay in Paddy Field
Donald stayed at Ping Buri on 2006-08-25 and said, "We were very surprised at the size of the rooms (large), a junior suite, a bit jaded but aren t most at this price. The general standard of clenliness was good, No cockroaches or mozzies. The shower facility was excellent. A large well stocked fridge, a fully adjustable AC in each room. High quality towels and a nice soft bed, not the normal Thai rock hard mattress.Breakfast was not a buffet and was a bit small. My long term Thai partner was offered the same Thai breakfast every day.The restaurant closed at 4pm every day and there was no room service at all.The location was on the other side of the city from the night market etc.But the busses and tuck tucks are cheap enough, if you haggle.Staff were very friendly and helpful, and did not look down their noses at my partner, as some hotels have done. The travel desk was OK and arranged days out for us but was not aware the Long Neck s had moved to the border near Chiang Rai and he got lost trying to find them, poor old Charlee. All in all good value for money.I would stay here again if I return to Chiang Mai."
Ross stayed at Ping Buri on 2006-08-17 and said, "Excellent value, friendly, helpful and smiling staff. Good size rooms for 750 baht and especially a suite for 1000 baht a night inc breakfast! (billed as but not exactly an American Breakfast!) Biggest down side on main road and v. noisy if you have a room at the front. The food in the retaurant is actually pretty good and also good value but the restaurant is only open until 3pm and there is no bar or public area except a small lobby and an outside garden which is not as picturesque as the website leads you to expect. The rooms also although big are very spartan and unfortunately the overall appearance of the whole hotel is pretty drab and brown. Bathrooms are also pretty basic and small compared to the size of the rooms. That said mustn t be too negative because back to first comment excellent value and really lovely smiling staff who justify Thailand s reputation for smiles and service --and I guess if the minor moans were rectified it would be worth paying two or maybe three times as much. Incidentally the hotel is catergorised by the local magazine in the top four star plus band that is I think a bit over the top."
Marta stayed at Ping Buri on 2006-08-10 and said, "very good. Near rail station"
Mrs stayed at Ping Buri on 2006-07-05 and said, "no help to your rooms. lift held 2 people with luggage. no safety boxes in rooms. family split between 2 floors. Did not look anything like the internet pictures and we had the most expensive room. left after half an hour into another hotel."
Elizabeth stayed at Ping Buri on 2006-06-16 and said, "The room was very large, and the hotel was in a nice location, our room had huge windows that looked out over the moat! It is on the west side of the old city, while most of the restaurants and other hotels in chiang mai are around the east wall, but I did not feel that the hotel was out of the way, as the city is very small and everything is so close (only a few minutes to the eastern side by red truck or tuk-tuk, or, if you re up for it, a nice half-hour stroll). The rooms and hallways are a little sparse, but neat and clean, and definitely worth the price."
Emily stayed at Ping Buri on 2006-05-15 and said, "This place isn t as cute as their pictures make it look. It is clean and comfortable though, and the staff is very helpful and kind. Plus, you can t beat the value!"
Sarah stayed at Ping Buri on 2006-04-06 and said, "Though the hotel is not located near the night baar, but it s actually easy to get around town since ChiangMai is not that big. We enjoyed our 3 nights with Paddy Field, the staff are very friendly and the decoration is cute and warm. Best of all, the price is hard to beat for the quality they offer."
Lisa stayed at Ping Buri on 2006-03-02 and said, "Lovely quiet hotel on the quieter side of Chiang Mai. Excellent value for money - we had a suite and it was HUGE!"
stayed at Ping Buri on 2006-01-30 and said, "Paddy Field was very nice. I enjoyed the breakfast every morning. It was on the opposite side of town from the Night Market. However, it was well worth the pay to stay. The rooms were also nice."
