Amir stayed at Centara Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai on 2008-05-01 and said, "VEry good location. Walking distance to the nightmarket. Shuttle service stops at the hotel for trips to the Shopping mall. Rooms are very big and spacious. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended for those wanting to stay within the night market area.Lifts are very very slow. It is not enough to cater for the whole building. Be prepared for long waits."
Bruno stayed at Centara Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai on 2008-04-14 and said, "Hotel is very good located, almost at corner from the night market. Breakfast is very good and the rooms clean and comfortable. The only minus; the cleaning of the room at afternoon. However I felt very comfortable staying at this hotel"
Tyson stayed at Centara Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai on 2008-04-05 and said, "The hotel was really nice. Awesome pool. Elevators were really slow, you could be standing on a floor waiting for one or four elevators for 10 minutes. Stupid complaint, but it was annoying. Other than that, everything great!"
DILHAN stayed at Centara Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai on 2008-03-15 and said, "Excellent hotel right in the middle of the night bazzar. Good ambience. Well presented bright rooms. Friendly reception staff. Definitely I will stay again."

Antony stayed at Centara Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai on 2008-01-13 and said, "Very good for the price and in an excellent location right in the night bazzar. The hotel is big and the rooms are a decent size with all you would expect in a hotel of this size/price. The breakfast buffet had a huge selection of asian and western food. I would stay here asgain."
Diana stayed at Centara Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai on 2007-12-25 and said, "Duangtawan Hotel is very convenient to tourist. Good Location especially to night bazaar. Deluxe room is big enough for 2 adults and 2 child. Lif is very slow and always full especially during weekends. To be safe, better stay in low rise floor so that u have a choice using the staircase."
Brama stayed at Centara Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai on 2007-07-08 and said, "We loved our stay at the Centara Duangtawan Hotel. It is just arround the corner of the Chiang Mai Night Market (which we liked best in Thailand). The children loved the pool and the breakfast buffet is offering such a big choice."
J.J. stayed at Centara Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai on 2007-04-30 and said, "Not recommended. Xtremely noisy neighbor bathrooms will surely keep you awake at night. Waiting for the very, very slow elevators is unpleasant,if not a real pain in the neck. Although the hotel staff knew about the wireless facility not being operational, they kept selling wifi access!!! To my knowledge the system has been down most of the time during my stay. The breakfast staff is absolutely non professional and should be send to a crash course to next doors Royal Princess. It would make such a difference!!"
W. stayed at Centara Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai on 2007-03-14 and said, "Great location, close to everything in central Chiang Mai. Rooms are big but look a little drab. Bathrooms were nice with seperate bath and shower. Good buffet breakfast. Very nice pool with good gym. Staff seemed nice. If you are looking for an upgrade from the Suriwongse but can t afford the Imperial Mae Ping, stay here."
Valda stayed at Centara Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai on 2007-03-06 and said, "we loved the hotel. it was very central.we were a party of 5.two adults and 3 kids.the service in the hotel was great and so was the breakfast.something to eat for all. really enjoyed ourselves and i highly recommend this hotel."
ANDRE stayed at Centara Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai on 2007-01-08 and said, "very good hotel, very good service we went upgraded but the lift are very poor you must wait long time in the morning and in the evening because the hotel was full and he has 23 floors"
Lee stayed at Centara Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai on 2007-01-05 and said, "LARGE ROOMS , CLEAN , CLOSE TO MARKETS , FRIENDLY SERVICE , AND RESTURANT ON 4TH. FLOOR IS FANTASTIC !"
A. stayed at Centara Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai on 2007-01-02 and said, "We were very dissatisfied with the hotel. There was loud construction in the lobby (or next to it) the room was absolutely filthy, the phone didn t work and the view amenity was not as shown/described by the listing. The internet service never worked the entire time we were there and we were not refunded our fee for that. We insisted on being upgraded and they did accommodate us - otherwise we would have walked out. I should say, in all fairness, that the hotel staff were very nice and the location was excellent, however."
jacob stayed at Centara Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai on 2006-11-18 and said, "the hotel is very good. we got upgrade to dynesty suite. it located 50 m from the night bazzar. very good brakefast. we will back to the hotel more and more"
Jane stayed at Centara Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai on 2006-08-27 and said, "Positives: The hotel is well located to the markets, shopping and restaurants. Many sights within walking distance. Bedding is clean, room spacious, lots of hot water and good water pressure. Excellent breakfast buffet with foods for all nationalities. Nifty coded lockbox in the closet. Negatives: Hotel seemed old fashioned and musty. Cavernous lobby and mezzanine that is cold and impersonal. Looked like a big downtown Sheraton Inn in the U.S.A. circa 1962, that s never been updated. There is terrible Musak piped into the lobby and common areas, including breakfast area - badly orchestrated old American music from the 50 s that is downright depressing. Unfortunately it s inescapable. The carpeting in the hallways looks to have been the original from about 1955. The room is not well furnished - bleak really. The maids do such a hurried job in the morning, there were fingerprints on the switchplates from 100 previous guests. The overall effect of the whole place is cold and depressing. We enjoyed Chiang Mai thoroughly but always dreaded having to return to the hotel. Although we d paid for the last night, we stayed somewhere else cheaper with a much better feel to it. I would never stay there again."
Montlivet stayed at Centara Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai on 2006-08-17 and said, "Very nice hotel, weel situated. It is very comfortable, the swimming pool is very pleasent also."
Arran stayed at Centara Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai on 2006-08-03 and said, "Cental Duangtawan Hotel is in a great location in Chiang Mai, a stone s throw from the night market. The hotel is a modern, large establishment with excellent leisure facilities. My wife and I stayed on the 19th floor which offered great views over the city and to the hills over-looking Chiang Mai. As other people have written, the elevators are slow but that s no big deal, you are on holiday, what’s the rush! The pool was really nice and fortunately the sun was shining when we were there so we could relax on the sun loungers and have a nice swim and cold Chang beer after a hard day sightseeing. The only down side to the pool was the noise from the construction of a nearby building site (another hotel no doubt), but as I discovered you cannot escape the on-going construction and development anywhere in Thailand these days! The breakfast at the hotel offered a good mix and was excellent for setting us up for the day ahead. The hotel seems really popular with Japanese and Korean guests but in fairness there was a real mix of nationalities staying there, although I think we were the only Scottish people! Overall, a great hotel that definitely met my expectations. Chiang Mai is a great place to visit, and the food at the night bazaar was amazing and really cheap. Definitely buy any souvenirs or clothes etc here in Chiang Mai as you will not find cheaper elsewhere. Also, I would highly recommend doing a Thai cooking course while in the city as it was great experience (we went with Ban Thai Cooking who were excellent). Also take the opportunity to get a great Thai massage at a place called Let’s Relax which is really close by to the hotel at the Chiang Mai Pavilion, well worth it to chill out for an hour and for only 400THB."
J.Polster stayed at Centara Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai on 2006-02-09 and said, "Great place to stay, close to the night market.Breakfast buffet is also vey nice.If you can pick a lower floor you will not have a connecting boor.We would stay in this hotel again."
Clayton stayed at Centara Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai on 2006-02-06 and said, "Very nice hotel in a good location, the rooms are a bit dated but they are very spacious."
Sean stayed at Centara Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai on 2005-12-21 and said, "I really can t say a bad thing about this hotel. Oh yes the lifts...blah blah blah..yes they are slow and yes when it s busy they are a pain, get over it. Great location, nice rooms, good services, nice buffett, and close to the night market. I loved Chiang Mai, please evrybody go up there, it s a great town. Great food and all."
Henrik stayed at Centara Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai on 2005-12-13 and said, "Great bathroom, great breakfast, the swimmingpool didn t have sun until the afternoon.Staff was very good, always correct and polite.Right in the heart of chiang mai perfect location. If wego to chiang mai again no doubt that we stay here again."
Paul stayed at Centara Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai on 2005-12-02 and said, "Clean, efficient and courteous service from the hotel and staff. Check in and check out was done with minimum of fuss and without undue delay. Communcation with front desk staff was excellent and friendly. Housekeeping was satisfactory and bell boys were polite and efficient.Few negative points, among which were the really slow elevator/lift; food at coffee house at dinner time lacked inspiration (the khao pad was pathetic); bathroom lacked a hand bidet which is standard equipment for most 4* hotels; no tea making facilities in the deluxe room, this is disappointing because the time taken in lift to reach coffee house and elsewhere is so slow, having a cuppa can be a chore. Overall 7.5 points out of ten. Hope the hotel will strive for a more excellent rating."
Lynn stayed at Centara Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai on 2005-08-15 and said, "This is the third time we have stayed in this hotel. An excellent location, a short walk to the night bazaar. Beautiful lobby, spacious restaurant (first-class buffet breakfast) and a fantastic swimming pool. The staff are efficient and friendly. We will definitely stay there again."
BERNARD stayed at Centara Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai on 2005-07-29 and said, "Hotel is large and sad, ot very well maintened. I was very disappointed and prefer IMPERIAL MAE PING hotel. I had a voucher (4 people) to stay 3 nights in 2 bedrooms DEULXE EXECUTIVE. As I have to be one day earlier in CHIANG MAI I got a second voucher for 2 people in 1 bedroom for 1 night. Despite the fact I sent mail and explain things 3 times nobody seemed to understand and when I asked to speak to the manager the phone was hanged down by the man in reception. I shall make an official claim to the General Manager of CENTRAL HOTEL GROUP for the nightmare we have to endure."
Heijmans stayed at Centara Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai on 2005-06-19 and said, "The location is good / the service also/ but the amminities they PROMISE are note available (like bathrobe, slippers and (as they promote on every room standard)coffee-and tea facilities !!!I will NOT visit this hotel next time."
Lynne stayed at Centara Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai on 2005-02-15 and said, "The Duangtawan was not what we had expected and hoped for in Chiang Mai. The room was drab and the workmanship revealed a quick completion with paint on the wood trim and many other conditions that did not impress. It took forever to get into an elevator. One positive aspect was the breakfast meal... very good! For the price we paid one would at least expect to be able to boil water for coffee but this was reserved for a more superior rate... how basic and rediculous. I asked a friend and discovered that the hotel had in fact completed construction rather unexspectantly fast after sitting unfinished for a long period due to some uncertain complications like financing."
Law stayed at Centara Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai on 2004-11-25 and said, "I have stay 3 nights in this newly built hotel in the central Chiangmai town area (next to Imperial Mae Ping hotel)...I was told this hotel just opened for about 4 months ago (July 2004 !) and no wonder cannot find the hotel location in the local map. Anyway I went there for the loy krathon festivals and almost all hotels are fully booked during this period.Generally, the room/bed is very clean as the hotel is very new. Location is superb as it is near to Night plaza, Pantib plaza (Electronics mart) and the morning market. Hotel staffs are very polite and helpful. The hotel has a good swimming pool and fitness club. The only constraint that I face is the elevator is too slow and will take some time to get to the floor if there are too many guests around. Some even has to take the stairs as they have been waiting for too long to get in.Breakfast is normal but there are some reasonable seafood/good food just opposite the hotel and along MacDonald stretch of road. There are lots of sourvenirs stalls that open in the night right infront of the hotel. If you like shopping, you will have to take a tuk-tuk (30-50 TBH) to Central shopping mall at the airport. At Chiangmai, remember to taste the Kantoke dinner and participate in some of the day trips will be nice.Transfer from the airport to your hotel can be booked upon arrival at airport for about 100 TBH for a car and takes about 15 mins to reach the town area.Return trip to airport can be arranged at your hotel for 80 TBH per person.Given another chance to visit Chiangmai, I will consider staying at this hotel again.Regards."
