Anne stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2008-04-06 and said, "A nice resort. A little deserted though and far from Chiang Mai to the wrong side. Very friendly staff. The internet connection was not very good. We went on to Belle Villa in Pai and we can really recommend that resort. Very nice cottages and green grass with swings for kids and nice view. The breakfast and coffee was good."
Robert stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2008-04-01 and said, "This hotel is a long way out of Chiang Mai, so if you need to do any shopping and eat cheaply it takes 40 minutes to reach Chiang Mai by taxi at a cost of 600 bht. Staff friendly and helpful."
Gracy stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2007-10-10 and said, "The hotel was awesome. My friends and I were offered free upgrade to the Deluxe rooms as we were there during the non-peak wet season. Besides elegant fittings, the landscaping was amazing. The hotel offers many room types with different views and you can surely find one suitable for your need. Breakfast was good but tours were a bit too costly. Above all, the stay was great as staff were friendly and service-oriented. The Executive Assistant Manager was so thoughtful so I promised her we will return very soon. A wonderful retreat."
Chithra stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2007-08-10 and said, "It was a combined family holiday so we booked the Villa with 3 bedrooms. What a beautiful house! Spacious yet cosy, right beside the pool with splendid views of the mountains. Belle Villa is a good 50mins-1hour away from Chiang Mai city and 40mins from the airport. The road to the resort is windy but the scenery is beautiful. We stayed 2 nights in Chiang mai city and 2 nights in the mountains, plus we had our own transport to get around - so it was just perfect. The breakfast spread was ample and dining against a backdrop of lush green mountains was better still. There are mozzies around the resort but mozzie wipes were available in the rooms. The massage was great and so was the live music in the evenings. A very calm and relaxing atmosphere away from it all. Suggest buying drinks and snacks back from your day-trips out as nothing much availbale on site."
Denise stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2007-07-25 and said, "A lovely resort in a remote hillside area 29km from central Chaing Mai so you need a car. 2 bed family suite was lovely but lacked kitchen equipment and utensils. Only one restaurant so no choice - staff were friendly but VERY slow. 2 lovely pools but the one near the restaurant was closed for the entire week for cleaning and the other pool was located in another part of the resort and did not have cafe/bar facility, also with 2 children they could not go unattended. A beautiful resort but not really enough for children to do - ours were very bored there!"
Laila stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2007-02-26 and said, "A very nice resort with excellent service. Also our compliments to our tours to Doi Suthep and Doi Inthanon Nationalpark."
Peter stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2007-02-11 and said, "A very nice hotel, rooms spotless and comfortable..menu rather limited considering how far away you are from Chaing Mai....certainly worth staying for a quiet rest."
Ho stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2006-08-30 and said, "Wondeful resort! Friendly and helpful staff, nice environment, reasonable price!Eversince I come back to my country, I have been recommending Belle Villa resort to people who wants to go to Chiangmai!A good place for rest and relax... if the vacation you want is to sleep, read, watch tv, listen to cds, massage, eat, elephant ride, swimming... about 40 min to City though...."
KHALID stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2006-08-16 and said, "Nice location, simple rooms, good internet conniction, but they have only ONE resturant, and they didnot have alarge menu.be carefule from some of staff there, they offer to you High Price to pick you to the City."
Brian stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2006-08-01 and said, "This Resort was in a very scenic part of the outskirts of Chiang Mai. The rooms were very clean and tidy with ample living space. The breakfast included was very nice and the staff were very helpful. The only issue was that its location was an approx 40 minute drive to town in a minibus through some winding roads, therefore not being real good for anyone that either gets motion sickness in a vehicle or anyone that likes to party in town during the evening. The Resort did put on two complimentary trips, which went into town at 1000 and returned at 1500, any other trip could be booked and organised by the Resort at 150 Thb per person per direction. Overall a great stay if you really want to get away and have a quiet time and like eating at the Resort."
Jeanne stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2006-07-06 and said, "Beautiful property. About 40 minutes from town. Arrangements for day treks, cooking classes, shows, etc. can be made through the hotel. The hotel s food was very good, its service great. Belle Villa was our favorite place out of 4 that we stayed in while visiting Thailand."
Yasser stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2006-07-06 and said, "The resort is incredible every thing there is nice the rooms, breakfast (i wish if there muslims menu),garden the view i never forget them.i strongly recomended for evey one looking for the quit and the green view."
Ms stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2006-06-08 and said, "Very clean and comfortable. Relaxing. Staff friendly. Beautiful grounds. Hotel quite a distance from city/shops but daily shuttle bus."
Rebecca stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2006-05-16 and said, "Beautiful surroundings. Surreal eating breakfast, which was yummy, in the cool, open air, lush, green, mist-topped mountains watching the elephants walk up the hill. Great for a morning walk or jog and enjoyable scenery for the drive back and forth between town. The room (3-bed villa)was just OK, but the mango and sticky rice -- quite commendable. Thanks for an enjoyable and memorable stay in Chiang Mai, Thailand!"
Norbert stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2006-04-08 and said, "Hallo! Greetings from Norbert and Gabi Grimbach (Germany). We´ve had some pleasant days in Belle Villa Resort and we´re still remembering in that inward eye the host of flattering and dancing flowers all around in this beautiful garden. We will send you for example a picture of a beautiful flower (Passiflorales). Also recommendable is the offer of hotel rooms, Spa-service and restaurant. Sure - we´ll come back soon! With best regards, Norbert and Gabi Grimbach"
Ivo stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2006-04-03 and said, "Fine Place, good service and lovely food.Nothing to moan about"
Emma stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2006-02-18 and said, "Had a lovely 2 days at Belle Villa and recommend it for a tranquil break from Chiang Mai. The service was excellent with very helpful staff and the location very beautiful, however you are quite isolated unless you take a trip booked by the hotel."
Justin stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2005-12-26 and said, "great place to stay - rooms and house suite are beautiful. wonderful people and service, all smiles! food in the resort is also very good in quality and choice, and the spa facilities and service is also one of the best around."
Lawrence stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2005-12-24 and said, "A lovely resort with elephant riding, though not free of charge. The resort provides free shuttle to and from the city each day, however this service is not available for checked-out guest for free, seems that it is a kind of discrimination. The transfer charge of sawadee.com for B150 is a good bargain, the resort will charge you for B180 for the same service."
Richard stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2005-12-13 and said, "The hotel and resort were not a disappointment. It is as beautiful and peaceful as the brochure suggests. Our room was a delight, not at all hotel like, tastefully decorated and furnished and the balcony(with mountain views)was a big bonus. Every where was clean and the house keeping top notch. If there is a critisism, we would have liked more information in the reception area about the tourist attractions in the area, and how to acces them independently. But this did not spoil our stay. We would recommend it."
Kristin stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2005-12-06 and said, "I highly recommend the Belle Villa Resort in Chiang Mai. I thought the resort was an absolute value. Our room was beautifully decorated and clean, the grounds are gorgeous, large with lots of flowers, the free breakfast of Thai and Western food was great, service and our English speaking guide outstanding. The resort is located about 30 minutes outside the city, so it depends what you are looking for, but every time we wanted to go into town, someone was available to take us."
Mr stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2005-11-25 and said, "Hotel was great. We stayed in the superior delux room which was lovely, a good size and with an enormous bed! Music system had a great sound aswell! The hotel itself is set in beautiful grounds, and the elephants do indeed visit at breakfast. The hotel is quite a distance from chiang mai, but as we stayed in the city before going to belle villa we already had a driver sorted so this wasn t a problem. Beware that there is only one meter taxi service in chiang mai and it hasn t been running long, thus you dont see them very often, I assume that is why people complain they have struggled to get one from the hotel. There is a large pool at the back of the hotel which was clean and while we were there we had it to ourselves, the pool at the front was a bit of a building site, but probably finished now. All in all a good hotel and would stay here again."
Erna stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2005-11-11 and said, "Receptionist services are excellent, buffet breakfast is extensive. Room is spacious and we were comfortable with the facilities. A bit far from chiangmai town, hotel provide free transfer at 10 am and pick up from town at 3 pm. Is 300 baht per way otherwise or after you check out. Beautiful scenery along the road. There s an elephant ride on site and the elephant come down on the breakfast terracce every morning."
Karen stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2005-11-02 and said, "We actually stayed in a new villa and had wonderful time! This is our second time staying at the Belle Villa Resort. Can t complain about any thing, and will recommend friends to stay at the Resort anytime."
Peter stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2005-10-28 and said, "After checking in at the Hotel we were taken to our house, which was in a very poor condition. A major renovation should be considered as it is in progress or done for the other houses. We asked for other rooms and were downgraded to deluxe rooms. The next morning we found out that the pool is under construction. We were told that we can use another pool, which we tried out, to find out that some of the apartments around this pool were under construction too,so sunbathing and swimming were with construction noise. Nevertheless we spent our time mostly in the green surroundings enjoying other activities.Hotelstaff was friendly and helpful."
Andrew stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2005-10-25 and said, "Beautiful location, although some way out of Chiang Mai (B500 taxi ride from the airport, but you can e-mail Belle Villa and ask them to arrange a minibus). The hotel runs a free minibus to the centre of Chiang Mai and also took us back to the airport free. The grounds are wonderful, although some building work was going on and the main swimming pool was closed. We had no complaints about our spacious room in the main building. Meals in the hotel were excellent and not overpriced. The staff were attentive and friendly and helped me with my incompetent attempts to speak Thai. Elephants really do come every day and we can recommend the trip to the Mae Sa elephant camp."
Phillip stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2005-10-18 and said, "Very nice accomodations. We were in Thailand for 3 weeks and spent 5 nights here. The resort is in a beautiful mountain setting, and the grounds are wonderfully groomed. Breakfasts were excellent. We only had dinner there one night, but food and service were good. It is remote from Chiang Mai (approx 35 min drive), so if you re looking to be right in the city this is probably not for you. It turned out they had the high point of our stay in Thailand. We got up at 6AM, hiked into the mountains with mahouts to find our elephants, fed them, rode them out, got in river with them to give them their morning bath , rode them back to the resort.... Awesome experience."
Barbara stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2005-10-16 and said, "We had read on the website that it was a bit outside of the city but it was actually 40 minutes away from the center of Chiang Mai. The staff were friendly but it did not seem worth it for us to stay so far from everything. Even though we had payed for 3 nights in advance we decided to book a hotel close to the night bazaar and stayed there throughout our visit to Chiang May. It is a good hotel if you want a secluded holiday."
Mrs.Tracey stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2005-10-02 and said, "The hotel was in a lovely location, set in the hills. I booked a superior deluxe room and the bed was 8ft wide!! The room was clean but the decor/furnishings not as luxurious as I had hoped. The staff were helpful and not over-attentive like other hotels. The meals were well presented but unfortunately we were not impressed with the taste or cuts of meat. Breakfast also was disappointing."
Robert stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2005-09-22 and said, "The hotel grounds were beautiful and peacefull, however, there was construction of new rooms around the pool and the spa area at the pool was not finished. The pool is large but has only two ladders to enter the pool (a design problem). Our room was large and the view of the jungle excellent. There was a probem with the water, first morning no water in the sink or shower, hotel sent repair person and was fixed by the afternoon. However, on the second morning no hot water, but plenty of cold water in both sink and shower, hotel fixed again, and in the afternoon there was hot water. Again, on our third morning there was no hot water, but at least there was cold water in both shower and sink. The hassle with the water was a definite negative experience. The restaurant was good and breakfast buffet on Sunday was excellent."
Michelle stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2005-09-19 and said, "What a great place! Takes about half an hour to get there by car from Chiang Mai, so if you ve been to the markets and the hustle and bustle and just want to have some peaceful time in nature this is the place. You look out from your room into jungle type hills, and in the morning there is a lovely mist that settles in them. The food is pretty good, although stick away from the beef salad as it is not a thai beef salad but just cold roast meet chopped up and stuck on the lettuce. Breakfast is great, especially on weekends when there is a buffet. The pool is beautiful. Internet is slow and expensive, you have to use it in the foyer and it is 200 baht per hour, compared to 20 baht in town. There is a wireless option if you have your own laptop but the staff don t know what the internet key is. The rooms are really nice, and good water pressure in the bathroom. The massage hut is down the road and up the street, but the reflexology foot massage was probably the best one I ve had. Thoroughly enjoyed my time here."
Low stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2005-08-30 and said, "This is our second time back to Belle Ville in Hang Dong after 5 years. It is an excellent resort for families as much of the facilities revolve around that. The children s playgound, lots of open spaces and the elephant feeding corner made the resort special. Christmas is a wonderful time as the place is all lighted up beautifully with the giant Christmas tree and poinsettas around every corner. The place takes on the character of an Alps resort. Our family has wonderful memories of the place and our children could remember the little things like seeing spiders spinning a web, squirrels and birds. Being surrounded by the hills, the air is fresher and cooler. After a long day out, it is an ideal place to enjoy the quiet side of Chiangmai."
MAY stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2005-08-17 and said, "A tranquil and beautiful resort set in the hills that provides the perfect getaway from the busy city life. Excellent service provided by hotel staff. Will return there again for the experience!"
Luke stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2005-07-31 and said, "Magical, serene, exceeded expectations. Elephants arrive in the mornings - was such a wonderful experience. Not the place to stay if you want to be close to all the action in the city but if you just want OUT for a few days it is PERFECT."
Carl stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2005-07-09 and said, "An excellent place for a get away. Excellent room, food, and service. Very cordial wait staff. On time transportation from the railroad station. A very nice place to remember!"
Kerry stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2005-07-07 and said, "Gorgeous hotel in the most amazing setting, the view from our balcony was fantastic. Staff are really friendly and helpful. It is a bit far out of town but if thats what you are after to get away from the hustle and bustle this place is perfect for a few days. I would definately recommend it to anyone and would return there in the future."
Mrs stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2005-06-05 and said, "My family of 5 enjoyed the good food, service & accomodation in our house suite. It is half an hour by van to Chiangmai city, but we desired the serenity being in this well-kept resort.Lots of nature to appreciate.Elephants come at 8am each morning.Besides a complimentary ride to the city at 10am every day, it s easy to hire a van/car with a driver for half/full day to tour on your own.Weather is warm at this time,so there are less crowds.Communication was easy: front desk staff are conversant in English."
Christopher stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2005-04-09 and said, "Simply Amazing and wonderful! We can t say enough about how great our experience was. The staff was kind and attentive, every meal spectacular, our suite was spacious and clean. Our favorite part had to be the great breakfasts and the elephants arriving every morning. Our children fed them and rode them every day we were there. The concierge staff was very informative and helpful and arranged for a van and driver everyday and the drivers worked hard to make sure we saw and experienced all that Chiang Mai had to offer. We ve been telling all of our friends if they are planning a trip to this area to stay at Belle Villa. We d fly back today if we could!"
Lara stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2005-04-04 and said, "LOVELY HOTEL SET IN A BEAUTIFUL SETTING IN THE HILLS. REALLY A TOURING HOTEL AS NOT ALOT WITHIN THE IMMEDIATE VICINITY- ABOUT 30MINS FROM CHIANG MAI. ENTERTAINMENT COULD BE BETTER AT NIGHT- ON THE ONE EVENING WE ATE IN HOTEL SINGER RATHER UNINSPIRING!"
Edora stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2005-02-09 and said, "A great resort with beautiful scenery and surroundings as if you are in Switezerland. Recommened to stay in individual villa. However, it s far away from city and you need to spend at least 2 hour back and forth the city and the hotel. The swimming pool is also too small."
Bonnie stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2005-02-05 and said, "Fantastic environment:valley, river, trees, flowers etc. Spacious and comfortable accommodation. The interior decoration and house keeping could nevertheless be improved."
Gary stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2004-10-23 and said, "We loved Belle Villa! Nice pool, beautiful butterflies, pretty restaurant, incredible condo with views and privacy. Staff incredibly helpful, even elephants visiting at breakfast. Great place!"
Mr.Ulrich stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2004-09-10 and said, "Although the place is somewhat remote from town, the staff makes every effort to accommodate your requests for this additional transportation service. The rooms and facilities are first class, well kept and quite, very good for a rest away from the hassle of everyday.Additional entertainment and reservation assistance is available for all kinds of adventures and trips. The menu and food is good and the wine cellar more the expected."
Peter stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2004-07-31 and said, "Lovely location with very attentive staff. A fair distance out of the town though and the food is a bit on the expensive side for Thailand, as were the guided trips - much cheaper to get into town and book the same trip from there for less than half the price!"
Timothy stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2004-04-07 and said, "We had a great time at the Belle Villa and the accommodation and food were great. Our reception was efficient and everything was handled as per the booking. The Resort is in a marvellous and quiet setting, but be aware that it is about 35 mins out of Chiang Mai."
Mr.Richard stayed at Belle Villa Resort on 2004-02-03 and said, "Very nice resort up in the hills outside Chiang Mai.staff was very capable and attended our every needs.Would recommend as to alternative to staying downtown Chiang Mai as rides are cheap to city.Would definitely stay there again."
