Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel

Charles said, "We chose the Royal orchid for its riverfront location and on our daughter s recommendation. (She and her husband less luxurious hotels for the rest of our 3-week trip, we wanted serious comfort to recover from our long trans-Pacific flight and adjust to local time. The Royal Orchid provided this, and was good value for the money."

Randy said, "Service was (as always) GREAT. The hotel itself is getting a little thread worn, especially for the price. The new soft mattresses would be nice and the bathroom fixtures need an updating. But the service was great, the internet fast, the view of the river beautiful, and the food was EXCELLENT as well as a touch pricey.n If you can t afford the Oriental or Penninsula but want the river views and great service, this is a good value."

Lombard said, "Due to overbooking by the hotel, we were moved to the Westin for our first night but the Sheraton then upgraded us to a suite with a beautiful riverview and indeed took excellent care of us. Breakfast looks a bit like an eating factory and is too noisy, but what else can you expect in such a huge hotel? A good choice at a reasonable price."

Lorraine said, "Very nice hotel - we had 4 nights and were upgraded to tower room. Well located on River with great views - always something happening. Bed extremely comfortable. Breakfast was excellent"

Feher said, "Very elegant, all the rooms with river-view, two swimmingpools (one in a tropical garden), wonderfull breakfast. everything was totally perfect - a little bit too perfect (nobody of the personal was smiling, or even looking at me...)so did the guests."

Paco said, "The hotel is very comfortable and located in the perfect spot, right on the Chao Praya (BKK river). BKK is a very busy and polluted city and it is good to stay in a hotel which gives some peace from traffic. It lacks a certain charm like the Oriental but the price difference between the 2 hotels is so wide that if I go back to BKK I d defenitely stay at the Royal Orchid. The room was modern with a certain style, if not lavish, certainly upscale."

Emma said, "This hotel is a haven in bangkok which can be crazy to say the least. The views across the river from our room on the 18th floor were stunning. The hotel facilities were great - especially the garden pool which was lovely. Breakfast was fab and it was great to be able to sit on the terrace by the river every morning. The hotel shuttle bus to the nearby Skytrain was really useful, and the proximity to the river meant it was quick and easy to get the ferry to the Grand Palace. We would definitely stay here again."

Mr. said, "Very beautiful hotel with excellent service. We everything was to our satisfaction. The hotel pools were beautiful as was their workout facility. The breakfast buffet was top-notch. There was quick access to the river and the ferries. The one bitter taste in our mouth was when the concierge tried to get us into a taxi with a fixed rate to the airport of 300 baht. We demanded the meter and saved a bit, so be aware.I would stay here again."

Claudia said, "This is a wonderful hotel and enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel is conveniently located and it was easy to use the river taxis. The room was excellent and we enjoyed the river view."

S said, "Overall happy with the service and quality of the hotel. The location was not as good as the Intercontinental for shopping/tailors etc, however was good for the river cruises and visits to the Temples. Didn t think that the gym was big enough for the size of the hotel and thought that there would have been more place to eat in the Hotel."

Adrian said, "This hotel is fantastic. Our room was on the 7th floor and, because of a lot of noises coming from renovations on the ground floor, we were upgraded to a suite on the 15th floor! The staff were marvelous, extremely helpful. The Thai restaurant was very good and the buffet restaurant was excellent - although quite expensive by Thai standards. Don t get confused between the free water in the bathroom and the water by the tea/coffee facilities - which cost 160 baht each!!"
